26 MPH Driving School

Positive experience: I took multiple lessons with Jose. He was a great teacher, extremely patient, and helpful. But can someone please tell me if this school is still open? I paid for two lessons that were supposed to take place last week. Jose never showed up and did not answer any phone calls or emails. I was supposed to take a road test on New Year's Eve, but there was an issue with the vehicle paperwork, and my test was canceled. I went on a brief trip to Europe on Jan 12th and returned to the USA on the 19th. I told Jose that I could take the test either before the 12th or after the 19th of January. It has been over a month since I returned and I did not receive any messages. If this school has closed down, it should show on Google.

Fantastic experience: Jose was the epitome of patience. He is an amazing instructor who gives truly practical tips that other driving schools would NEVER provide. I passed my test on my first try after taking lessons with Jose. I had a couple of previously failed attempts with another school, and I can attest that the service, lessons, and communication here are 100% better. I can confidently drive now. I learned how to parallel park seamlessly with Jose despite a technical issue with the car. Jose was a pleasure to work with. He was flexible and able to pick me up in my neighborhood, even though it was not listed as an option on the website. Give them a call if your neighborhood is not listed because they might be able to work with you. It was extremely easy to coordinate lessons, and my road test was timely scheduled. I was very anxious about driving, especially before I signed up for lessons at 26 MPH Driving School. It has been a great learning experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to learn how to drive in Queens.

Fantastic experience: 26 mph driving school is the best! I was pretty anxious and afraid to learn how to drive again after I took my road test the first time from a different school but I knew I had to learn again someday. Jose is the best! He is really patient and gives really good tips to everyone. I felt a lot more comfortable driving and built up a lot of confidence now behind the wheel. I passed my test the second time after not driving and taking the test in 3 years. If anybody wants to build confidence behind the wheel and get their license, I definitely recommend going to 26 MPH. Jose will for sure get you right!

Fantastic experience: Jose and his driving school is the best! I was always super anxious and afraid to learn how to drive but I knew I had to learn someday. Jose is patient and gives really good tips to beginners. I instantly felt more comfortable driving and built up a lot of confidence now behind the wheel. I passed my test and now I plan on taking highway courses with their school as well. Ashley manages the scheduling and she’s always super communicative and sends a message every night to confirm your lesson or to voice any new scheduling updates needed. This is a small family business and they’re trustworthy and very reliable. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to get their license or to just take a few classes to get comfortable on the road!

Además no me dieron garantía Con 26 MPH aprendí a parquear el primer día! I did the 5-hour course, 5 class package, and road test with them. The classes were very helpful and made me feel comfortable on the road and I was able to easily pass the road test. Fantastic experience: Overall a great experience, both Peter and Jason were great instructors, each had their own skillset to partake. Both were very supportive despite the fact that i was a nervous wreck first few lessons. The 5 hour class instructor Raymond was very engaging and enthusiastic about the class which really made me excited to learn about road safety. Fantastic experience: Great driving school to learn. As someone who has used other schools, this place was definitely A+; highly recommended. The instructors were very informative, gave excellent driving tips, and the strategies they give will most certainly help you ace your driving test as long as you listen to them. I went with an old driving school and felt so uncomfortable behind the wheel, after working with Jason and Peter I feel very comfortable driving and I passed my driving test! Scheduling is very flexible. I have had my schedule change and I have had to cancel a few times and Jose has been nothing but accommodating. Jose and Jason are awesome. Peter you're my favorite. Thank you guys so much for everything I hope this review is the least I can do to say thanks for an awesome experience. If you are a prospective student looking for a great, if not, the best driving school, then I recommend you at least give them a call.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this driving school for anyone in the Forest Hills/Rego Park area. I first took the road test in 2018 after two months of drivers ed and failed miserably and didn’t want to drive for years after that. When I signed up with 26 MPH this year I only took 5 lessons before my road test and I passed with very few points taken off! The instructors are amazing and they teach you the best ways to parallel park and control your vehicle on the most difficult roadways. For anyone looking to get over their fears of driving and obtain their license, I say this school is your best option!!

Fantastic experience: Before I found 26 MPH Driving School, I was very discouraged because I failed the road test and did not have the motivation to take the test again. Since I started taking driving lessons from Jason, I regained my courage to drive. He is very friendly and teaches you the important rules in a memorable way (I was able to parallel park perfectly during the road test thanks to his method!). He is a great teacher and a conversationalist. Thanks to 26 MPH team, I passed the road test on my first try this time.

Fantastic experience: Passed my road test the first time after a 15 lesson package! As a 32y old NYC commuter all my life, I was looking for a driving school with good ratings to finally get my license. These guys are great instructors, patient, relaxed, and easy to talk to and just explain anything you need to know about passing your road test. What I liked is that they aren't snappy, they don't get angry if you make a mistake, they realize that you're there to learn and that it's a process. I had lessons with both Jason and Peter throughout my 15 lesson package, and you can't go wrong with either. If you're nervous about learning to drive, the people here are perfect for building your confidence. We progressed from basic driving around the neighborhood, to them judging I could take the next step and go on Queens Blvd to farther areas to practice. I'll recommend them to friends and family in the future.

Fantastic experience: This is a really nice school. It was a bit hard for me to find at first as it shares offices with another business. They have very clear packages with lots of options - I took one that included 5 lessons, a pre-licensing course, road test + car for road test.It was great, and I passed on the first try. I already had prior driving experience, but it was good to have a driving refresher after 4+ years of no driving. I had lessons with both Jason and Peter and they were both good instructors who had good pointers both during lessons (a much easier method to parallel park), and on the day of the road test. All in all, I'm very happy with my experience. The communication with Jose the manager was great, and I got an SMS reminder the day before each of my lessons with the time of the lesson.

Both instructors were very patient and friendly, and answered all my questions about driving. Both instructors also taught techniques on how to do various driving maneuvers that were simple and very easy to understand. Jose was great with scheduling my lessons, and also kept in touch with me with how my lessons went which is amazing. 26 MPH really cares about their students, and I will definitely recommend 26 MPH to my friends.

Fantastic experience: Last time behind the wheel was over 10 years ago when I first had my driving lessons and subsequently failed my road test before. Needed to look for a new place to take the lessons as I now need to get the license and found this place after searching online. Everything looked good and after an initial call, set up my initial lessons and we were off. Mark was my instructor the entire time which was great as he was able to really take a look at what I actually needed to learn, what I felt like I needed to brush up on, answer all my questions about being behind the wheel, and really put me at ease with everything. The conversations we had while I was practicing were great and made the time go really quickly. Half of the conversations were his way of testing how I would park, admittedly my weakest skill, with some distraction. Suffice it to say, with Mark's tutelage and expertise, I was able to pass the road test and am ready to drive now, both legally and confidently.

Fantastic experience: My grandson and I are extremely satisfied with 26 MPH; not only are they attentive to their customers, their instructors are the best. I had called a few schools but was unable to get an instructor that would pick up & drop off my grandson, give him 1 lesson and take him to the road test with the car from the school. Jose made it happen. We had a scheduling problem, but Jose worked with me. My grandson was very happy with Mark, his instructor. My grandson had problems parking, but Mark taught him how to park without any problems. The best was that he passed his road test! Thank you 26 MPH!

Fantastic experience: The Geate experience. Teachers recommend the best and most comfortable way how to learn drive. I recommend taking at least 10 lessons if you've never driven a car before. This helps to get fill comfortable in the driving test.

I had most of my classes with Jose and Kevin , they were both very patient and helpful instructors I was confident to drive right after my first lesson , parking was so easy after learning it just once , after only a few lessons I passed my drivers test .

Fantastic experience: Proudly passed my road test today because of the amazing instructors. Jose, Elizabeth and Chris were all super helpful in getting me comfortable on the road. At first I was intimidated to go on Queens Boulevard, but after several lessons I conquered that fear. I also learned how to effectively parallel park, make K turns and ultimately prepare for the exam. Aside from the driving, their office was very accommodating and would often call to inform me of upcoming lessons. If you're looking for a good value driving school, 26 MPH is the way to go!

Negative experience: Update: wow, you guys are such liars. Nobody was waiting for me at 9:20am. My appointment time was at 9:15am and I checked my phone and I was exactly on time. Update 2: you said my review is untruthful because I said my phone wasn’t working but if you read my whole review, you would see that my phone couldn’t make phone calls, so I borrowed a strangers phone. But my phone still has a time on it (doesn’t need service for that). The fact that you’re trying so hard to prove me as untruthful shows me that you can’t own up to your mistakes or even apologize to me who paid you for a service I didn’t receive. It’s so sad. I’ve had such a terrible experience with this school. It started off with me paying for a pick up/drop off. They never mentioned when I signed up that there was a 5-mile radius policy. But the receptionist told me it was fine because I was within 5 miles. Then the day of my first class came and my instructor wasn’t able to make it to me because now I’m being told I’m not within 5 miles. Already I’m a little annoyed at being told different things, but we reached a compromise where we will meet halfway and I’ll be refunded the pickup fee. Great, everything seems to be going smoothly with my instructor Jose. A few days ago on Wednesday 7/28 I was about to have my last class. Jose calls me the night before to confirm. I tell him I will be there because I called off of work to make the class. I get to our usual spot and I don’t see Jose anywhere. I realize my phone wasn’t working and had to call the school using a strangers phone. I was told he tried to call me while I was traveling on the train and when I didn’t pick up, he decided to go to his next appointment (kinda early??). Rightfully I was furious. I was on time, I called off of work for this and this instructor blew me off just because I didn’t pick up my phone. What if I was underground and had no signal? Did he even think about that? It’s so mind boggling to me that he would even do something like this and not even apologize. We had already agreed to meet, there was no excuse. I had to lose a few hours of work’s pay for this. & I had to hear the receptionist apologize on his behalf and it’s not even her fault. I had a balance of $30 remaining and I paid it even though I feel like they should have reimbursed me for my wasted time. Everyone else seems to have had a great experience with them. But to me, some of them are so unorganized and rude. I rather spend the rest of my money where my time is respected.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience with both driving instructors at this school, Jose and Oscar. I was very nervous to get behind the wheel and hadn't driven since getting in an accident 5+ years ago - but Jose and Oscar were incredibly patient and were able to get me comfortable, to the point of passing my road test! In addition, they were incredibly flexible to help me customize a package which met my needs. I will definitely be returning for further training on highway driving and changing a tire.

Jose the instructor is so patient, I remember receiving classes in a different driving school before and had a bad experience with inpatient instructors and didn't finish my lessons with them. So I decided to go with 26 MPH driving school after reading all the good reviews and they were definitely right, totally worth it, I also had Oscar as an instructor once and he was also great. Really great school and awesome instructors!!

I previously went to another driving school before I found 25 MPH and I wish I went straight here. Location matters when you are practicing and this school is in an area that is very similar to most driving exam areas.

As someone who started learning how to drive later in life I needed someone who was not only patient but also could give me constructive criticism on what I needed to work on. Fantastic experience: This is the BEST driving school you can go to! Jose was a great instructor, extremely kind and patient with me. He came all the way to the city to give me my lessons (and they’re located in queens), he even picked me up and took me to the road test and then dropped me off after. Great customer service! Great people! Great lessons!. I ended up passing my road test on the first try with a PERFECT SCORE! I highly recommend this school, you won’t be disappointed! Also the car maintenance lessons were totally worth it and I recommend anyone who has never changed a tire or anyone who has no clue about oil changes or about anything that goes on under the hood (like me) to take the lessons. Jose explained it all step by step to me and gave me great tips. I’m extremely pleased with the service and I’m glad I chose this school. Thank you again Jose!!
