Negative experience: I went to this driving school early this year for my driving lessons.I got a trainer,an african lady.She took me to some place for the lessons but she kept on talking and asking me personal questions,at a point I started asking myself if i was training or having a question and an answer session.She had me drive round the that location for a while but we parked and the she started talking again.I had to cancel the second session

Our teen daughter felt very comfortable driving all around the city/suburbs/everywhere with 3 different instructors and improved a lot. Now, she feels very confident driving us around !

Negative experience: Trying to book the in person lessons is a nightmare, even if you pay upfront for a package to include testing. You can't book in advance but have to run the gauntlet on a particular day to book the following month sessions, so sept 19th for October. They don't answer the phone so by the time you get through everything is booked and you have to wait again for the next month. Its currently August but all evenings and weekends are booked until October and I can't book those til mid September (if they answer the phone when I call). Then you cant book a test in advance so it's literally months to do 10 lessons. They don't have enough instructors for the money they take up front so if you have a teen learner who needs evenings and weekend don't bother!

Fantastic experience: We had a really great experience with Nathan's and our instructor was Mr. Chris Willis. He was great. Everything you want in an instructor-knowledgable, patient, understanding. Our son was crazy scared at the start, and confident at the end. Great experience. Thank you!

Negative experience: Not worth it, unhelpful and after 10 hours of driving it was recommended to do another 10 hours.Money driven. Nobody ever answers the call, pay first to set a road test time before they can schedule. Highly disappointed

Fantastic experience: I am writing to recommend Michael as a driving instructor at Nathan's. My daughter recently took her 6 hours of lessons with him and he was patient, kind and a great communicator. He took time to meet with me, the parent, before and after each lesson to discuss plans for the lesson and how things went. My daughter felt comfortable and learned so much from him. We were very pleased with this portion of driver's ed. We were less pleased with the 30 hour classroom experience which was led by a different instructor. In addition, I want to concur with some of the other reviewers' comments regarding Bob- my older child had a terrible experience with Bob a few years ago and I am disappointed to hear he may still be employed at Nathan's. Avoid Bob!

Fantastic experience: These guys were the best from top to bottom - the office staff was incredibly helpful (and patient) - we loved my son’s driving instructor Esther - she did an amazing job and made it comfortable and easy - wonderful! Also loved his test administrator Rachel! Thanks to everyone there!

Negative experience: Seen recent reviews (2024) that Bob still works here. I took my driving test here almost a decade ago and Bob was mean, impatient, and straight up disrespectful during my road test back then too. It was an awful experience and I’m surprised such an antisocial person is still conducting driving tests with teenagers I also took the weeklong class and the teacher was not great. Snappy, bad listener, and would start going on long random tangents which wasted a ton of time The only person who I genuinely had a good experience with was Joe. I doubt he works here anymore, but he did the driving portion of the classes with me and he was sweet, kind, patient, and personable and I greatly enjoyed getting to complete the 6 hour driving instruction with him

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Nathan's Driving School. My son took several behind the wheel lessons with Chris Willis and we were very satisfied with each one. Chris is positive, patient, and thoroughly covers the curriculum with his students. Not only was the instruction top notch but the customer service was also great. Definitely the place to go.

Negative experience: One of my worst experiences ever. DO NOT GO HERE. Bob gave me my road test and not only was extremely rude and creepy. He made comments about my height and weight. When we started the road test he told me to back out and he would steer the wheel. It made me feel extremely uncomfortable. While I was in my actual driving classroom he kept making fun of a teenager with a visual impairment. Another one of my instructors got lost and I had to get out of the car and Uber home due to how late it was. After I took the test they gave me a 10$ Starbucks gift card to write a good review.

Fantastic experience: This place truly taught me the skills for driving (especially parallel parking), and I was exited to see my instructor Micheal each of the four days. I feel prepared to hit the streets of Atlanta, and if you are scheduling an appointment ask for Micheal if you want to have a good and educational experience.

Fantastic experience: Took the 6 hour behind the wheel driving courses with Mike and learned a lot. He was very patient with me and prepared me for the driving test I'll also be taking at Nathan's too. He showed me parallel parking so much easier than I was led to believe. I also took the online driving lessons with Joe who was very informative.

Fantastic experience: My son had a terrific experience taking multiple lessons with Michael. He had his testing last Tuesday for his license, and passed with perfect score of a 100. Super easy to schedule and just a wonderful and kind teacher.

Fantastic experience: My son completed in-person driving lessons with Nathans, and by the end of the process, he learned a lot, and passed his road test with flying colors (and flying orange cones). We had a nice experience with everyone we dealt with at Nathan's (albeit we never met someone named Nathan), and would recommend this school to other parents.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Nathan's driving school. The test administrator did such a wonderful job. Her passion about safety was so evident. I value how seriously she treated the entire process and how she communicated with my son both before and after the driving test. My son also really enjoyed his time with his driving lessons, as well as his experience over December for the classroom time. The benefits are priceless. My family and others on the road will benefit from everything Nathan's is doing to ensure safety and driver education.

Fantastic experience: Thanks to Nathan’s Driving school, I was able to get my license on my first try. I had Ms Sabrina for the classroom and Ms Earnestine for my 6 hours driving lessons. Ms Sabrina tried to make a long 30 hour class fun while teaching us defensive driving techniques. ( Ask her to tell you some of her stories) Ms Earnestine helped me to be a confident driver on the road. I was a little nervous driving but she helped me get over it. I would definitely recommend Nathan’s to anyone.

Negative experience: Took my daughter to Nathan’s for her road test and she was given the test with instructor Bob. Not only was he rude to me, her mother, he was disrespectful to her- making suggestive comments, calling her names, and being flat out creepy towards my 16 year old. I will never be coming back here and I advise anyone looking for their children to take the road test to take it any place other than Nathan’s. This was extremely disappointing.

Negative experience: This might be a little long so read at your own risk. I have a visual impairment and was told my entire life (until I was about 20) I would never be able to drive. When my doctor surprised me one day and told me I could but I would have to do a lot of practicing and take the drivers ed that the teens take AND buy an $1800 pair of driving glasses I was SO excited !! (And nervous.) I took the classes passed everything and was told all I needed to do was take the driving test. But I was still not confident in myself. Shortly after my father was killed in a car wreck and I completely gave up on driving I was just too scared. I went on with life. Actually lived abroad for a bit. And came back with newfound confidence to drive. So I signed up for some lessons. The woman (she was an older woman) was SO NASTY and RUDE. I tried explaining I haven’t driven in quite some time but she mocked me when I made mistakes and told me I would never be able to drive. I went home and cried for hours because I had worked so hard to build up the confidence to drive. I wanted to reach out today and let that nasty old lady know. (I cannot remember her name) that her nasty attitude fueled me to keep going and not give up and NOW I CAN drive ! And I do it daily. Thanks for nothing Nathan’s Driving School !

Negative experience: Paid for the drivers ed class that Nathan's offered through our kid's school. Tried to schedule driving time and usually ended up with voicemail only to be told the mailbox was full and we couldn't leave a message. On the rare occaision someone actually answered the phone we were told they didn't have any appointments available and to call back next month. Finally got an appointment, only to find out when I called to ask a question about it that the instructor we were scheduled to drive with no longer worked there, so we had to reschedule. We got that one scheduled, only to have to start the process over again calling and being told to call back next month to schedule the remaining two road sessions. Today they told us that it's been more than six months since we signed up, so we would have to pay extra if we want any on the road instruction. I would not use them. If your school offers the classroom sessions, don't bother with the road instruction. We learned our lesson and are using a competitor for my younger child.

Negative experience: Would not recommend for several reasons, one of the main ones being one of the instructors falling asleep several times during the lesson, waking up suddenly and grabbing the steering wheel - on one occasion this happened on the freeway . The drivers' Ed class was full of rude and disrespectful teens - no surprise there however the teacher, although very nice, had zero classroom control over them. If you have a kid that has sensory (noise/chaos) issues, have them do the drivers' ed class virtually. The driving test person was dictatorial, patronizing, and belittling, both before, during, and after the test. My kid failed, they were not ready at all despite being told by the instructors that they were (so we're very glad they did, as they were in no way ready for Atlanta roads) and they came away from the test experience with a big loss of confidence and feeling humiliated and upset rather than really understanding why what went wrong. ☹️

Negative experience: Terrible customer service. Don’t answer the phones. Horrible experience EXCEPT for our lovely driving instructor Rufus. Had it not been for him we would have nothing to do with this place.

Negative experience: This location has the worst office staff. My daughter finished 30 hours class time. They told us to call set up on the road lessons. I've been calling and no one answered the phone or returned messages. When you go into the office they like to pretend you're not standing there at the window. Just want what my 800 dollars paid for. They keep telling you to go online, but you cannot set anything up. If you could the would not be needed.

Fantastic experience: My daughter just finished a week of virtual drivers ed and two out of three driving lessons. She got through the class and passed the test, even though the content is what it is- there are more interesting topics in life! Ha! She did mention there were some funny videos though. Ms Zaneta taught the driving lessons. She was a great instructor and communicator, both to me and to my daughter. My daughter feels a lot more confident on the road now. I’ll definitely use Nathan’s again w my younger child in 4 years.

Fantastic experience: My son took driving lessons with Terrance and the road test with Bob. They were both patient with him and very detailed on what he needed to do to correct mistakes. I appreciate how dedicated they were to making sure he "drove" away from the classes safely!

Fantastic experience: As an anxious driver, Nathan’s helped me build the skills I needed for the road and drivers test and helped me build the confidence I needed to drive safely and protect myself and other on the road. Both Ms. Elda and Mr. Terrence were amazing instructors for both the daytime and during the night in all levels of traffic.

Negative experience: My niece had bob as an instructor last month and she told me after her appointment that all he had taught her in her 2 hour lesson was to not trust herself. She came into my car in tears saying that Bob was more concerned about getting angry with her over the smallest things rather than teaching her how to drive. I have read other reviews about Nathan’s and I am saddened to see that my niece isn’t the first person who has an extremely negative experience with Bob. Maybe Nathan’s needs to give him sensitivity training because clearly he’s doing more harm than good. It’s astonishing to me that an instructor is teaching kids to not trust themselves… what a shame.

Fantastic experience: Both of my sons took their driving class at Nathan's. They took the class in the summer in one week (with a couple friends). Nathan's suggested that they wait to do their driving hours for highway driving, since the cars have 2 sets of brakes, and to do these hours right before taking their driving test once they turn 16. The driver explained everything they would be tested on while they were driving & it is was fresh in their mind when they took the test. I opted to pay for my kids to take the actual driving test for the state of GA through Nathan's, so they were able to take the test in the car with the same driver they had practiced with. This made it much less stressful and they both passed on their first try with no mistakes. We had a great experience & our daughter will do her driving with them in a few years!

Fantastic experience: Nathan's is the best. I've used them for all three of my teenage sons. Great front office staff and great instructors, especially Terrance, Michael and Rufus...an all around great experience!

Negative experience: I would not recommend anyone taking road test here , instead go to DDS even if it’s late.

I had one child take this program a few years ago and one recently both had a wonderful experience! I highly recommend the school for those needing to learn driving skills and taking a driving course. The employees were understanding and helpful. My children did great and are confident drivers now! Fantastic experience: I have a license from a country outside the US and wanted to take a class to get used to the maneuvers for the road test. The instructor was friendly and helpful. The road test with Robert was a good experience too. I was able to schedule both appointments around a week out and the whole process was very smooth.

Negative experience: I would never recommend Nathan's. We have had the worst experience since originally signing up with them this summer. We waited 3 months to even get a driving lesson on the calendar. We called in June and the first available lesson time was the end of August. I have called every week between June and August hoping a time would open up...nothing. I get it. It's hard to find people to hire these days, but 3-months? In addition, you have to call on the phone and speak to someone for EVERYTHING other than the initial sign up. Don't be fooled when you can buy your giant, expensive package online. That's where your online service ends. The women in the office are very nice, but it is 2022. We should be able to handle a lot of this online. I do this type of scheduling after work and on weekends when I have time so it's a huge inconvenience to have to try to find a time to call during business hours. And god forbid your kid get sick and has to miss a weekend appointment. There is absolutely no way to get in touch with anyone over the weekend. I drove to the school and found the poor instructor standing outside waiting for us even though we had called the day before to let them know we wouldn't make it. Finally, let's talk about the in-person classroom instruction. The instructor our daughter had was so militaristic that she cried after the first day and asked us not to send her back. In addition, the the material provided, specifically around anything having to do with vehicles was completely outdated. The instructors do not know anything about electric cars and seemed to shame my daughter because she was telling them some of their assumptions about cars did not apply to her family's electric vehicle. So, all in all, this was a pretty horrendous experience. I know that there are other options around town, I'd seriously consider those.

Fantastic experience: I was actually introduced to Nathan’s driving threw my school I believe in 2019 as part of our drivers Ed program participating in the 30 hr drivers classroom course on Friday’s then for 9 weeks, following that, I was lucky enough to have done Business with Nathan’s driving outside of school taking actual road lessons with instructors Paul and Micheal for I think 5-10 months. The Experience I had with them was always above standard I believe, they both really helped me get my drivers license which I thankfully have today I don’t think if it wasn’t for them that I wouldn’t get my drivers license like I do today. I was also lucky enough Due to Nathens being a certified driving school by the state of Georgia which means they’re allowed to give road tests, I was lucky to have taken mine with them instead of the State of Georgia passing the first time!!!! I am forever grateful for Nathans! they allowed me to have A positive impact/experience with my driving, and I hope they can provide others the same experience they provided me thank you!

Fantastic experience: As a Traffic Operations Engineer Department Head that works for the Georgia Department of Transportation I have spent my career working on making roadways, intersections, driveways, etc safer for every kind of road user, ie car, bike, ped. I was terrified at the idea of my son driving because I have seen too much and read too many accident reports to be an enthusiastic parent to a teenage driver. Ultimately, I wanted my son to learn to be a relaxed confident driver and also understand the how quickly things can go wrong when driving, particularly in Atlanta. My son just completed the Silver package with 30 hours of education time, 10 hours of street driving time, and the drivers test. He has now passed his road test and he is ready for a license. Nathan's made this process so seamless for both me and my son. He learned on their car, with Ms Ernestine who set him up for success. He has a great base to work from and I can confidently say that he is a safe driver that I have not imparted my bad habits into by attempting to teach him the basics. I am able to be in the passenger seat and be the reminder to check mirrors, watch for potential problems, etc. with out the tension and anxiety I was anticipating as a parent. We will be doing a lot more driving together before he is the comfortable confident driver he needs to be but that will only come with practice. This is a great school with long history of success. I would suggest in investing in additional road hours. We did 10 and my son would have benefited from 2 to 4 more roadway hours. Ultimately, choosing Nathan's was the best thing I could have done for my son.

Negative experience: We had a not so great experience with the driving lessons portion. Poor communication from the instructor and little feedback along the way. Never gave him highway driving lessons. When I called to voice my feedback, it was not received well from the receptionist. Instead of listening and offering a solution, she argued with me and didn't want to hear it. I won't be choosing Nathan's Driving School for our next child when the time comes. We used Taggart's for my oldest son through his school and it was a very positive/different experience.

Fantastic experience: I had to come here a leave a review due to the wonderful service I received. I was skeptical at first after reading the reviews but thought to give it a try since the school was conveniently located near my house. let me start by saying the office staff was great, not sure of the past reviews maybe there was a change somewhere but everyone seemed friendly and helpful. Due to covid, scheduling my daughter was a bit scarce but they made it work for me and my daughter was able to get her license on time. So thanks to each and every one of you. Now My 5 Stars goes out to my daughter Instructor Ms.Z (Zaneta) Zaneta was very friendly, bubbly and to my surprise absolutely amazing from the start of her lesson until completion. Zaneta is what I consider not just an instructor but a role model we need for Youth in general. She was very Patient, understanding and very thorough with feedback and tips which helped me practice with my daughter in our car and very inspirational. My daughter shared some trouble she was having at school with bullies and Zaneta gave her good advice on how to deal with it. I was greeted with a smile, she was very personable she wanted to know if we had any special accommodations, needs or worry about our daughters driving which caught me by surprise ?? I was thinking to just hand my daughter off and they do their job... Zaneta took notes of our concern's and addressed them with feedback and updates. My daughter has really bad anxiety and lacked confidence in driving but after driving with Ms. Zaneta she gained so much confidence now she thinks she can take my car and go places lol.... She can now parallel Park, Park at grocery stores, switch lanes etc..... My daughter was well equipped for her test. My daughter mentioned she was very creative, she took her on an adventure every lesson such as to her favorite mall, friends house or school and acknowledged when she was doing good and provided tips along the way. Also stopped at Quik Trip our favorite travel stop for a break. Thanks to Nathan's Staff for all of your accommodations and such an wonderful Instructor, I will be returning when my son is of age.

Negative experience: Not reliable! Bad management. They called and canceled my class just 20 minutes before it was supposed to start.

Fantastic experience: Had an issue with rescheduling a lesson and owner called me personally to resolve. Appreciate the time Rachel took to listen to my concerns and address the problem quickly. My son has had 2 lessons and great experience and already a more confident driver.

Fantastic experience: Glad to find Nathan's for my teenage son. They offered lots of different options so we could work around his sports and school schedules to get the 30 hour course done (we opted for online) and the 10-hour driving program was perfect for us. He was comfortable and listened to the knowledgeable instructor and received great, supervised road experience while we saw how his driving improved significantly. Gave us invaluable peace of mind. Instructor also covered the parking requirements for the driving test too. I would highly recommend Nathan's Driving School for new drivers!

Fantastic experience: My daughter took the in class and in car driving lessons and has become such a confident driver. She knows the rules of the road and can even drive long distances in the interstate. Nathan's instructors were so relatable to my daughter and they really helped her so much. She wants to drive all the time and is totally prepared to get her license. Thank you Nathan's!

Negative experience: My daughter was scheduled to start driving school at Nathan's driving school. My wife and daughter arrived well in advance of the schedule start time. No one showed up, after several phone calls my wife was able to speak to someone. She was told that the class was canceled due to not enough people scheduled to take the class. WHAT!!! No one called us or email any communication of the class being canceled. I was beyond being heated. If this is how the business is ran, I'm thankful my daughter didn't take the class. I could only imagine the driving lessons being given. You've been warned, stay away.

Fantastic experience: I had a terrible fear of driving. It has been 6 years since I've driven a car at all. I wanted to gain some confidence so I enrolled with Nathan's. My instructor was Brent Neiman. Brent was very patient and a great "coach" while letting gain confidence and learning how to drive. He made sure that I will be challenged all throughout our session without me feeling intimidated and overwhelmed. I also took the Road Test with Nathan's and I finally drove with only a bit of nervousness but now very confident of driving skills! All in all, the services I got from Nathan's from enrollment to driving lesson to scheduling to road test were exceptional! Done within 1 month from the time I inquired. I'm very excited to finally have my driver's license! Thank you Brent and the staff of Nathan's!

Negative experience: I highly suggest no student schedules Bob for an appointment. Before we even got onto the road, he picked a fight with one of the teachers who kindly said (let’s not yell in front of the students). At this he got out (yes) GOT OUT of the car and started yelling at the instructor to “fight right now.” The other student and I were clearly embarrassed. I was shocked that this was the behavior of an instructor at a driving school RIGHT before a student takes their test. Knowing some of the other instructors, I believe any other instructor is a better option than him. If you get Bob, good luck.. Nathan's Driving school is great depending on who you test with, who will not stress you out.

Negative experience: I would like to first and foremost state that this experience happened to me three and a half years ago, so maybe this guy somehow completely changed. It's taken me this long to write this review because my family has been on the fence about returning to Nathan's, because every other instructor/employee we met has been incredibly kind and patient. But I see that this certain instructor still works here according to the staff page on the website, so I feel like I should share my story. Bob, for me, was the worst instructor imaginable. He would scream at me over the tiniest mistakes. For example, he once continuously screamed at me for 5-10 minutes WHILE I was driving in rush hour traffic because I didn't return to the common speed as fast as I should have after a red light. He yelled at me for 30 minutes on my first day because I held the wheel wrong once, telling me how "stupid" I was. He constantly acted like each mistake I made was somehow a personal attack on him. He would say very derogatory things against me, and he would occasionally do things to prove how strong he was in case I "tried anything." I NEVER back-talked him. I always followed his instructions to the best of my abilities as a new driver. I never questioned his instructions, methods, etc. I never did anything to provoke such behavior. I always did my best to be a good student so his verbal abuse would stop, but it never did. Bob never cared that him screaming at me only took away from my focus on driving. Bob never cared that his derogatory remarks hurt me. I constantly felt incredibly unsafe in the car with him. After several weeks of lessons, I finally told my parents what was happening. They requested a new instructor for my final lesson, and the new instructor (Dan I believe?), was very nice, patient, and informative. He was everything I would've preferred in an instructor. I learned much more in my one lesson with him than I did in a few weeks with Bob. We were going to do more lessons with Nathan's, as I still needed to learn how to drive on the highway, but my family felt very uncomfortable giving more money to the company that signs Bob's pay checks. Bob did teach me a neat method on how to parallel park, but everything else with him was absolutely horrible. If you decide to chose Nathan's as your driving school, I highly recommend requesting any instructor that isn't Bob, unless you're totally fine being screamed at continuously whilst trying to learn an important life skill, based on my experience anyways.

Fantastic experience: Great everything; very accommodating. These people really seem to care about the driver's safety. Dan is a wonderful instructor with great patience. Lucille is likewise very understanding goes above and beyond. Great to have an alternative to the other main player in the business who overbooks and doesn't have flexibility in scheduling driving lessons.

Fantastic experience: This school has been in business longer than ANY in the area, and for good reason- it's still the BEST !! The staff & instructors are very pleasant. Well worth doing business with!! Thanks for a great experience!!

Fantastic experience: Today I completed the Defensive Driving Course at Nathan's and it was overall a pleasant experience. Originally I was worried about having to spend 6 hours in a classroom with strangers and a teacher who would just bore on and on about driving safely but our instructor, Bob, made the class much more engaging. This man is probably one of the most well-rounded people I have met in my life. The way he taught encouraged participation, which I am normally not especially fond of at all, but helped me learn and recognize what I still need to work on. He is real with you and a quote from him about airbags deploying and our organs hitting our skeletal structures "We are captives of our own biology." will stick with me along with the memory of this man who educated me and provided advice for an upcoming court date. I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to take a DDC; the time goes by quickly and the way things are taught makes the final exam extremely easy. Another special thanks to Bob for making my experience with Nathan's exponentially better!

Fantastic experience: Just a few day's ago I attended Defensive Driving Course at Nathan's Driving School @Chamblee. Right from from signing up for the class to actually attending it, I had a very good experience. Excellent customer service & very professionally conducted class. Our instructor, Bob was awesome. He conducted the class in a very engaging & informative manner. We did not even realize where the 6 hours flew by. I would highly recommend taking Bob's class.

Fantastic experience: Carlos Austin taught ,e so much about driving and life!!! honestly a wonderful experience. i was very comfortable i had a few laughs and most importantly i feel more prepared for the test than i ever have, praise god for Nathans and Carlos good luck to whomever decides to use their services. you're getting your moneys worth 10fold!

Fantastic experience: It was a really great experience. I learned a lot and even though the hours may be long it's really worth it. My instructor, Ms. Sabrina, did a terrific job in informing us the do's and don't of the road.

Fantastic experience: The staff at Nathan's are extremely professional and pleasant. I took 10 hours of lessons from the instructor Mr. Tom Madaus and he is the BEST!. He is patient, pleasant and appreciated every single thing I did right during my training sessions. He is not only a good instructor but a great motivator. I have heard from my friends about all the yelling from their instructor at other driving schools and was bit anxious during my first class. But he put me completely at ease and taught from the very basic stuff. I took my road test today and though I know I would definitely pass, I not only just passed but passed with 100!!!. The road test official told me that I really did good. I even have the picture of the report. Thanks Nathan's and thank you so much, Tom Madaus!! I really appreciate it.

Fantastic experience: Nathan's Driving School is a pioneer in keeping the roads in Georgia safe. They are great are great at what they do because they love teaching and have a genuine concern for the safety of our motorists. If you reside anywhere in the metro Atlanta area, Nathan's should be your Atlanta driving school of choice.
