Fantastic experience: I am very happy with my experience. I had Josh as an instructor and think he did a great job. He is very knowledgeable and has a very laid back teaching method that worked well for me. Josh answered any and all questions I had and was thorough in his explanations. All you have to do is listen and follow what he teaches and it's an easy pass. All the staff was very friendly and I highly recommend learning from them.

I've never really had any other instructor but this man believed in me before I even stepped in the truck. Also A guy named Steve seemed super passionate in his class make sure you don’t miss his it! David was a great on the road teacher explaining everything in detail and really helpful on shifting . Fantastic experience: I just got my Class A from SunState CDL and I have to say by far a great experience. The instructors explains things correctly and show that they care that you understand everything, especially my instructor MR. Ray He took his time with us and made sure we didn’t just remembered words.. but actually knew what we were talking about. I was a bit nervous with backing a tractor/trailer(especially the ally dock)but he gave several pointers & tips to make backing so much easier for me.. I was able to pass all my backing maneuvers without a single pull up everything in one motion and that gave me the best feeling ever. I’m Going to miss sunstate cdl (the hospitality, attention to detail, & smiles) but it’s time to start trucking. Thank you sunstate CDL! -Jay

Fantastic experience: Figured I’d leave a review since I know it helps. Got my cdl in 2 weeks. Was ready by week one to test. No restrictions. It’s up to you to pass so put in the studying and it won’t be a problem. All the staff were great and have their own teaching methods and for the price you can’t beat it. Thanks sunstate.

Positive experience: I am going to try and give my best and personal experience about this school by stating the facts. This school will help you get your CDL quick that is for sure, I was in and out with a CDL A in 2 weeks. It is by far the cheapest school to attend compared to fort myers or any other school. I paid $2,800 for 2 weeks, and I got to choose how many weeks I wanted schooling. The biggest cons I faced were if I wanted to do my training in a manual and had no experience in a manual, they would not teach me, having manual experience in a car is good enough for them to put you in a manual. I wanted to do it in a manual but I would have probably had to teach myself and probably failed the first time. The other con I have with this school is the range is horrible, to be more specific is the area where you do your backing, offset, and alley dock. There are so many potholes, and loose gravel as well as the barley visible cones that they have. Many students attend the school, this is just speculation but a school should be able to shutdown for about a week or less to have the floor paved, it would benefit the students more as well as the company. Nevertheless, I would recommend this school for anyone trying to get their CDL quick you get your bang for your buck.

Fantastic experience: Best place to go. I came here from another school in wpb that was a night mare. I was blown away by sunstate. They were organized. Professional. On time. Every one from the instructors to the office people were great. I had plenty of time in the truck to learn. Ray was my instructor and he did a great job showing me what I needed to know. Fantastic experience: I came in here feeling nervous and left with a lot of confidence, this is by far the best school to get your CDL. The instructor’s were nothing but professionals at what they do ,they made me feel confident in doing all my test , any question I had they answered, you are not just another customer to them , they actually care about their students and they make sure each student is confident in doing there exams. They do such a great job that there are students driving miles away just to come here and get proper training , you will be able to practice and get experience in maneuvering your vehicle before you test , take advantage of everything they offer , I went in for my class B CDL but felt like I could have passed in a class A CDL either way it was a great experience.

Fantastic experience: 100% would recommend this school! I needed an expedited school to get back on the road fast and they did it. They taught me the whole pretrip before the end of the first week and provided one on one training with an instructor during backing practice! My instructor Ray was the best!!! Hilarious, helpful, and knowledgeable! Everyone there was great tho! They made me feel very comfortable during my test! Study with your group! Take turns! Repeat !!! You Got This! p.s. bring sunscreen, a hat, and lots of water!

Fantastic experience: I just finished up two weeks at SunState, earning my Class B CDL. Every member of the staff was extremely helpful, courteous, and professional. They made learning the ins and outs of a CDL easy as their teaching methods guarantee your success. While most of the education was taught with the true seriousness of operating a CDL, they still took the time to add fun aspects to it. I would recommend anyone looking to earn their CDL to give SunState a call.

Fantastic experience: Excellent Staff: Ray and David are great instructors with distinct styles. Both are friendly and easy to understand. I feel I had an excellent grasp of subject material by my exam date. The examiners are both very patient guys and do their best to be as welcoming as possible. Guys in the office were great too and friendly and helpful when I needed something. Programs: I was attracted to this school because of the different program options tailored to what you as a student needed. I took the 2 week course and I felt amply prepared. Overall, Sunstate CDL is a great way to invest in your cdl career. Easiest 5/5!

Negative experience: I'm sure youre aware by now the reason of why You now have this rating.I know you wasnt expecting this but after The conversation this morning ...I needed ti because it was unacceptable!!!.You had veeeeery poor customer service.Yes I was a bit frustrated but, I didnt disrespect you! My concerns were legit.A student that inquired about this school some how was moved forward with a loan etc but, lives 2 hours away..19 yrs old..Why not state I would try a closer school that may be a bit far to drive 4 hours daily 5-6 days a week this definitely is concerning.And makes me question your integrity.Ms "have a nice day hang the phone up on a concerned parent of student you enrolled.She will have to call blah blah!.Dont take advantage of people! Look out for the best interest of the student aswell with out having a money hungry mentality for a change..! Never in a million years would I eveer treat some one the way you just did and this is a business! Such shame on you!!!! Fantastic experience: Today I completed a goal that I have been dreaming of accomplishing, when I first arrived at this school I was unsure of myself. There is an instructor there his name is Ray, I went to drive a manual and then lost confidence and wanted to switch to automatic…let me tell you Ray looked at me and said “No, your gonna go out there and try”. One day I even knew he was exhausted I said “you’re tired huh”? He responded yes he was very tired but seeing us succeed gave him the motivation to continue and it was a reward for him to know he taught us and we succeeded with the knowledge he provided. Many people come to work for a pay check Ray is there for much more than that, When you have someone like Ray it’s damn well hard to fail lol. If you go to this school, put in the study time and listen to Ray you will walk away with a CDL certification…..but not only will you walk away with that certification you will walk away as part of a brotherhood. It was an awesome 2 weeks Ray and if you see this…Thank you!! God Bless

Fantastic experience: The instructors were great. All you have to do is memorize the pamphlet that they give you and it tells you everything you need to know to pass the test. And you get plenty of in cab driving in their parking lot.

Fantastic experience: Really enjoyed my 3 week class at sunstate CDL Derek, and the other instructors Ray and Tom were super cool, laid back and straight forward. they were willing to work with you and go the extra mile to demonstrate and answer any questions you may had. I really like how the very first day it was straight to all hands on actives such as learning the pre trip, and from there forward it was so much information and learning. I took my test in a manual knowing nothing about shifting. Derek was very patient and calm as he gave me pointers and tips on how to shift and become familiar with the gears. Ray helped me with the backing in maneuvers and gave me tips n tricks on how to complete them in one try. Tom was always there willing to help at anytime answering any questions I may had and or I needed to know how to do something. I met new friends and other students were enjoyable to learn with, i really enjoyed my three weeks there and will never forget any of it! Highly recommend, good vibes I’m excited for my future this was only the beginning!

Fantastic experience: I currently work for a major van lines (household moving) as a manager for a number of years now and already have had my Class B for a long time. Understanding Class A drivers are very hard to come by these days, I decided to move forward in getting my Class A to help our companies local needs in this effort and was glad I chose SunState. The curriculum is thorough and so are the instructors. All pre-trip, in cab, backing and out on the road maneuvers were covered very well in my training in preparation for exam, thanks mainly to instructor Derik in my case. The other instructors were also very helpful when and as needed. This not to say that self dedication, strong self motivation and an open mind is not a requirement here. Had to work it. Instructors will lead you well, however it is very much practice practice, repetition repetition, whether that was learning the proper language/lingo on the pre trips or behind the wheel on the range. Upon testing my examiner was tough but fair, and I feel confidant that not only am I prepared to move forward safely with our various tractor trailers, I also have no fear if the State of Florida would ask me to re-test or run in to any problems in the future. Fantastic experience: From the 1st call, Sun State answered my questions and calmed my nerves. The lady on the phone was so helpful. My ELDT Instructor George prepared me with enough information to be safe and prepare me for the range. The rage instructors Tom, Derek, and Ray were amazing. I was very nervous and doubting my abilities, but they stood with me and never gave up. I test today, so regardless of the outcome, I wanted to say thanks. Fantastic experience: This is the best CDL training in Florida! If you are willing to listen and learn what the instructors say you will be ready pass your test in 1 week. I went into this training not knowing anything about trucks but they had me ready. If you feel you need extra training the staff will stay after class to help you. It is well worth the $$$$

Fantastic experience: Honestly this is the best school for ANYONE trying to obtain their CDL. I had 0 experience with tractors or trailers, I thought 2 weeks wasn’t enough, but man was I wrong! Tom and Rick were awesome instructors they WANT you to pass. Everything is straight forward and to the point they all want you lined up for success. They do very small classes which is awesome because you get so much Driving/Range time. I passed my test today aced it! Never thought judging from my performance in week 1 that I would nail everything by week 2. I officially have my Class A CDL thanks to these guys! If you came across this for schools this is where it’s at don’t waste your time or money anywhere else, i’ll say it again these guys want you to pass!

Alright Finished a while back totally forgot I left a review but yes this school is shizzlett got my cdl within 4 days of training and on the 5th day I passed it with flying colors if you got working chromosomes and you actually try and memorize the material with repetition 4 days is all it really takes for the exam. Instructors are down to earth and chill ! Examiner steve was a cool fella . I give this school 5 stars bc I got what I came there to get which was my cdl Thankyou sunstate cdl . Come to this school your lazy a** won’t regret it !

Fantastic experience: I signed up because I am starting a business and need a Class A. From the first day safety is key and the instructors are awesome! I would recommend this course to anyone that's just starting out or has years of experience. Top notch! They take the time to make sure you are prepared.

Fantastic experience: I gave this place 5 stars based on the fact that I passed my test in 4 days. I personally had a lot of experience with trucks and understand the backing of trailers so this school did it’s purpose for me. This would be my advice to anyone considering this place with little or no experience. You will be in a parking lot for 4 days and it does get hot so dress like your going to the beach. There are usually 10-12 students all looking to learn everything in 4 days and only 2 teachers to go around. Since you don’t have alot of time to learn everything you need to make a point to get attention from the teachers. Ask questions and don’t assume you will just sail through the test because you won’t. They only go over what’s on the inspection and driving test and they don’t teach you how to drive, shift or backup the trailer. That’s on you to practice and you have plenty of practice time. Remember you are not there to make friends you are there to pass a Cdl test you paid for. Practice practice practice. Do not listen to anyone but the teachers the other students who think they know it all don’t and they fail.Don’t be the guy who stands around in the back missing the info you need. And if you have no experience driving or have never even backed up a simple garden trailer I would suggest 2 week class. Yes I have complaints about this place but I got what I needed so I’ll leave it at that. If you take this class seriously you should pass and if you don’t then why go in the first place. I would recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: I was a student in July 2021, my experience that I had there was excellent, first, the teacher was very respectful, he had a lot of patience to explain everything related to the truck, any questions he clarified at no time, he had a bad attitude with any student, I felt very comfortable with the treatment what he gave us I want to thank very much to all who are part of SUNSTATE driving school JV

Fantastic experience: I had great training week with Jerry & Charles. Hearing their driving experience and tips really helped. I did NOT think I would be ready in 4 days to pass my test, but I was, and I PASSED! There's ton of information you need to know to pass this test and they had our entire class confident & ready. These trainers even came in 1 hour early per day to work with anyone who needed extra help! If you LISTEN to the trainers & STUDY the material you're going to PA$$! I'm excited about the trucking business/opportunity ahead of me!

Fantastic experience: I went to SunState cdl Sumterville for the two weeks program with no tractor trailer background, I worked in a kitchen before I went there. I went there because everywhere else was/is so expensive. I was skeptical at first because it was so cheap. So I decided to give them a call and go for my license A. I was not disappointed. I'm so glad I chose SunState cdl because Charles and the short chubby instructor was so patient and helpful. From the first day they told me what my weaknesses were and what I needed to do to get my license. Just listen to they instructions and you will be fine. Thank you so much for all the help guys.

Fantastic experience: Cant say enough good things about Sunstate Cdl! Rick & Kevin are the instructors and are super knowledgeable,patient and treat you like family. Steve was my examiner and made me feel very comfortable and help calm my nerves .If you listen and study what they give you there is no way you can fail.I studied and applied all of what they taught me and passed my class A test first time out with only 1 week of class.I highly recommend Sunstate to anyone .Thanks Guys!!!!!
