Fantastic experience: Tyson was my instructor for my test and made me very comfortable and was thoroughly helpful during my warm up before my test. He made me forget I was even taking a test! Great place that produces succeeding and safe drivers for sure.

Fantastic experience: I had a Really positive experience with this driving school. I did all of my drives at the snohomish location with tyson the driving instructor. He was extremely nice and he really helped me understand driving and also taught me so very helpful tips for driving safely.

Fantastic experience: High responsiveness, professional, and strict yet accommodating when needed. I'm assuming they're like this in any of their locations, so it's a good option. Engaging in lessons if you're really there to learn. Not for people half-hearting their way. Side note: Vincent is a nice guy, nice instructor. Thanks for the lessons.

Fantastic experience: Driving Instructor Kathy is awesome! She really gave our daughter the confidence she needed to stay positive and keep going. I really appreciated her direct feedback to me about what we need to keep working on before the State testing too.

Fantastic experience: My daughter took the driving course in Snohomish with her instructor Cameron. He was phenomenal! Excellent instruction, calm relaxed atmosphere, great feedback. Couldn't have asked for a better first time driver education course and instructor. Thank you Cameron, you were the perfect instructor!

Fantastic experience: Cameron was able to help my son learn to drive. I didn't think it would ever happen but he was so good that my son is not only driving, but driving well. I don't even get stressed when he drives. He's that good of a driver (this was NOT the case before). Cameron did a fabulous job. Way to go! Definitely recommend this driving school and instructor in Snohomish.

Negative experience: In this day and age, fully charging people for lessons they have to cancel due to illness is unconscionable. Beware of where you spend your dollars parents! You’ll also be waiting long amounts of time between drives. Unethical

Fantastic experience: I was lucky to get Tyson as my 1 hr. instructor and examiner at the Issaquah location. I can't say my experience with the other instructors were as good so if you go with this school be sure to request Tyson. Tyson was extremely kind and professional. In my previous experience I felt like I was being talked at as opposed to spoken to. Tyson just isn't on auto pilot. He cares enough about each student to make sure that he caters his instruction to fit what is working "clicking" for the student as opposed to one method fits all. He is able to work very well with nervous drivers and does everything in his power to make his students responsible safe drivers. I am very grateful to Tyson for his kindness and humanity.

Fantastic experience: I took 10 driving lessons and the skills test at Defensive Driving Snohomish with Tyson. As a first time learner who knew nothing about driving, Tyson was the most amazing instructor that I could have. He was encouraging, informative and funny (with his car jokes)! I was a nervous wreck at most times but his detailed explanation, patience and support made me feel a lot more confident. I actually looked forward to and improved a lot in each drive. Highly recommend choosing Defensive Driving Snohomish!

Negative experience: Drove down to see if i could get a driver's ed book. It was closed. Sign on their door saying they don't keep usual business hours. Which makes things frustrating. Even called the number on the door and go routed to voicemail. So that's was super not helpful.

Fantastic experience: I loved taking Driver's Ed here at Defensive Driving School! Kit was my awesome drive instructor and was really calm on my drives. He explained things really well and made the whole driving experience more enjoyable. Mr. Sooter was my class instructor and always kept a good balance of making what we learned more enjoyable and maintaining the seriousness of driving in our conversations. He is a really good drive instructor as well, as he instructed one of my later drives. All in all, this is a great driving school. I would definitely recommend learning to drive with Defensive!

Fantastic experience: Got to take my test with Tyson and I was very nervous but he assured me that I’d do well (after having a practice drive) and not to let my nerves get the better of me. All in all great environment to learn how to become a great driver.

Negative experience: You have to wait outside and the instructors will always be late. I had one instructor give me a lesson and he was pleasant and helpful. I felt rushed though, like he knew he was always late so he wanted to be done early. For my skills test the instructor made fun of the previous tester and I felt myself become nervous. His jokes were not funny, they were making me so panicked I began to shake a little - would he make fun of me to his next tester? I did my best to let it go and focus on my driving. He was fidgety and distracting and gave minimal warning for maneuvers. I made mistakes I never made even when trying maneuvers for the first time. I was told during my lesson a little caution was to be expected, but the instructor testing me felt otherwise and marked me down for behaviors I was told were okay by another instructor at this location. I barely passed and was ready to cry, it was a miracle I made it through. I needed my license for work, but I wanted to continue taking drive lessons to improve my driving afterwards - I don't think I'll be doing that here.

Fantastic experience: Just finished my second round of driver's ed, with one more to go. I'll be back. The classroom is walking distance from the school my kids attend, the times are convenient, and we had no problems getting drives scheduled when we needed them.

Positive experience: I’ve failed both test and do not recommend this place! Teachers are funny and nice but I do not agree with the rules. Willam, one of the driving instructors is ASWESOME!

Negative experience: In general I would not recommend this school to a friend. The one major benefit of this school is that it is local. The biggest problem I have with this school is that they tell kids to give high reviews. One person I talked to about their five star review they gave. He said if he had not have felt obligated to leave a good review, he would have given around a two star review. Experience: The process of signing up for the school was a major hassle. The online instructions for getting the permit were followed exactly, but after two hours of sitting at the DMV the worker told me that the permit could only be obtained ten days or less prior to the class start date. I then searched through defensive driving school's website and found this rule nowhere. It's not a huge deal, but a lot of time was wasted that day. I came back later in the correct time frame but defensive had not submitted the paperwork. Luckily a call to the school was all it took to get the paperwork. The classroom experience is not very intellectually stimulating or challenging. The only thing that keeps one from zoning out is copying answers from a PowerPoint. This system works for some, but I personally would rather be more engaged in the classroom. The drives can be fun and informative at the same time.

Fantastic experience: Tyson by far was an exceptional instructor. After the test he explained to me the things I can work on and what I can do. He was extremely patient and does an excellent job! Thank you for providing such a good experience! I was really nervous at first because of the things I've heard about some instructors, but I will recommend this location always!

Fantastic experience: My daughter took the driver's ed course at the Snohomish office during the summer and then the DOL testing there as well. Overall it was well organized and beneficial. DOL instructor Tyson was patient and helpful.

Negative experience: This class was the biggest waste if time ever, if it wasn't required to take then I wouldn't have taken it. The class was not entertaining and is was a big inconvenience during the week. The class had a teacher that didn't seem to care about being there, thus making the students not care.

Fantastic experience: I was assisted by Tyson and I'm conten. Having to come from South Africa and he was very helpful in every aspect which helped me to pass the test. I recommend him anyday and anytime.

Negative experience: This place is so difficult to deal with. All they want is more and more money. We paid for my sons course, the schedule agent online said he had completed and passed everything. I called DMV and they didn't have his records. I called the driving school and they said the account shouldn't be saying that my son has completed everything and that their paper files say differently. So they tell me my son haS to retake a test and go to more classes and wanted $75 more dollars on top of the $590 we already paid, I asked the man if he is sure that was everything we had to do and he said yes. But what do you know, After that was done they said he had to retake a drive and wanted another $60. And they couldn't send his file over to the DMV until it was all finished and paid for. Not only that, the teachers here have been very rude and disrespectful to my son they give him crap because he does not learn at the pace everyone else does. If anything they should be helping students and encouraging them instead of treating him like he isn't doing his work. If we hadn't already had paid so much money to this place we would have Just found somewhere else to go. I don't recommend this place
