Fantastic experience: Excellent day time class experience. ALL the teachers were hands on and patient with me. Matt the yard lead was very helpful and understanding. I want to especially give thanks to the instructors that I worked with the most, Tee she was very patient with me, taught me how to do a straight line back within 30 minutes when I really struggled with it for months while I was a student on nights. Also she took the time out to actually show me what I needed to do/know for all the maneuvers. Mrs. Christina for helping me understand what to look for as well and also thanks for the endless laughs. Ms. Janet for teaching me what I need to look out for on the road while driving a semi since this is a career change for me I felt comfortable on the road/driving part with her. Last but not least Sharonda (spell check) thank you for being the soft spoken positive person that you are! I really just want to say thank you guys for believing in me when I didn’t believe in myself even when I was like I quit because I didn’t understand things, you guys pushed me and made it make sense. So if anyone is interested in going to drive 160 in Indy go to days if possible! Thank yall so much again!

Positive experience: As long as you go in with the right attitude to get what you came for, you should have no problem walking out with you CDL. All the instructors were helpful as long as you seek the knowledge. A closed mouth doesn’t get fed!

Do the work and listen and you'll be a super trucker like me. **Update one year later** Got in got my money and got out. Trucking nowadays is gonna take a lot of patience and the ability to speak multiple languages. It just wasn't for me anymore. Good money but at what cost? Love my wife and family more than to just see them two days a month.

Negative experience: Don’t waste your time or money here, there are better schools that are more reasonably priced

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend 160! I was a GM at restaurants prior. Knew absolutely nothing about trucks. They taught me well. Rob is an incredible teacher, calm and patient. AJ and Pat both do a awesome job explaining things. I did it in the dead of winter so not too many students and we got a lot of drive time. Cristopher in the office helped me get a grant so I didn’t have to pay out of pocket. Over all a amazing experience! Thanks so much guys! I revived my CDL today and became a member of the one and done club!

Positive experience: I know there’s plenty reviews on here of people who don’t have many good things to say about 160, but overall my entire experience was smooth & effective. All in all the entire process from walking into 160’s recruiting office (August 8th) to the time I passed my CDL test (November 1st) took roughly 3 months. I was fortunate to enroll at the perfect time so I didn’t have to deal with extended wait times. The instructors were amazing, the information they teach is solid & you get adequate timing to accomplish everything. The only reason I’m giving 160 4-stars instead of 5 is because there seemed to be a shortage of space to train & I feel like there should be more lanes added so everyone can practice their maneuvers as much as they want. Besides that, 160 is nothing short of amazing & I can’t wait to start the next chapter of my life.

Fantastic experience: First of all I want to formally thank all my instructors Mike, AJ , Joe, Rob, Pat , Phil and any other instructors whose names i may had forgotten as well as my state examinar Ryan whose fair and calm instruction helped test me on the road and to state standard. I'm grateful to my instructors whom not only provided the knowledge but being patient and understanding through the process from start to finish. Fantastic experience: How I passed cdl test 160 academy Straight up I was getting nervous all the time failed two times until I met phill he trained me so good and unique and I think only got cdl because him Phil is the new assistant / junior manager he is great teacher learnt a lot from him. Not saying other instructors were bad, they are also really nice.Aj manager is also so help full all the time.

Negative experience: If you are paying out of your pocket for training my advice is to go somewhere else This CDL school is in contract with Amazon and they don’t give any attention to the other people

Negative experience: 160 Driving Academy management and school manager Tyffani Johnson in particular, are not professional. She took forever to get me important information and to schedule me for yard dates and times for physicals. I'd have to call over 10x's and send over 5 emails a day to get any answer from her. Yard instructors were fantastic and patient with me learning manual (John,Pat,Russell,Matt). Equipment however was always broken down and had to reschedule my drive times 6 times in the span of 4 weeks. I was a self paid student and I do not recommend this path at all. Get endorsed by a trucking company so 160 doesn't waste your money and time.

Negative experience: Worst trucking school u will ever attend I don't see how this school is still taking state money based on the fact they had 1 manual truck the entire time about 6 automatic I was in school and only got to go out 20 mins in the driver seat tops every other day I started this program Oct 8- until now I was kicked out with on 18hours left because I made complaints and didn't respond to emails Don't let you be manual trans you will be on your own

Negative experience: WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!! Definitely wouldn’t recommend 160 in Indiana to anyone. Management can’t handle or control what goes on in the yard. It’s over crowded you barely get truck time and the truck don’t work most of the time. Not to mention none of the schools teach things in the same manner (pre-trip). The Instructors that I worked with on the yard were the total opposite and very easy to work with it was just MANAGEMENT THAT SUCKED!!!!! Best advice keep ya money and go do you’re schooling elsewhere

Negative experience: VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! When I started class at 160 I was told I had to complete one week of classroom work and three weeks of skills work with the truck to complete course. Originally we were told there would be a two week delay before we could start the truck yard portion of the course. But after starting the classroom portion, which turned out to be virtual, we were then told it's a four week delay. While waiting we received an email telling us there would be an additional two weeks delay. So something i thought would take about a month could take around 3 months.

Fantastic experience: Its a good school. Even though this is the only driving school I have been to I looked into others. 160 was the most competitively priced that I found and it was also the most accelerated. From the time I signed to the day I received my Class A CDL it was just over 4 weeks. The instructors are friendly and work with you.

Fantastic experience: Coming here to 160 driving academy to get my CDL license was one of the best decisions I've made in my life. This place has great instructors to help get your CDL license. Felt like I was practicing everything I needed to know with family after being here for a couple weeks. Everybody is happy you passed and you end up being happy for others passing the test for the CDL test. Highly recommend this driving schools other driving schools.
