Negative experience: Don’t waste your money taking your teenagers there they don’t really help them they don’t teach anything is better to wait till they’re 18 since all the work is for parents because you will need to practice with them a lot and then they don’t even teach what is on the writing test I would never go back to this place again with other of my teens never, also I had a problem with my email and they want me to pay again 650 for my son to do the course again, that’s not fair and it was only one missed lesson, you guys must to send text messages too with that important information absolutely I’m not paying again that much for nothing because they didn’t even teach my son to park in parallel he said the lady that day was using her brake a lot, he’s learning more practicing with parents than what they teach him….. that’s not true you never send 19 attempts I only have one but like I said I had some problems with my email you guys could send a text messages instead than email, kevin said they never mentioned about the final test, and also he and I we’re thinking that everything was fine with all the classes he said he did all the lessons and also why did you guys let him do the writing test without letting us know that he didn't finish the course ?? Of course won’t pay again that’s a lot of money, no one wants to loose their money I never got the 19 attempts that you mentioned and I can go in person and show it to you I have not problem
Hi Faby, I know you are upset that Kevin didn't finish the driver's ed course, and that's why he couldn't schedule the state driving test with us today. Students must complete a teen driver's ed course before they are eligible to take the driving test. We sent 15 emails and several phone calls since March 2024 to encourage Kevin to complete the course and take the final exam, but we never received a reply on any of them. Our email service shows that the emails were viewed, but not replied to. We’re all receiving too many emails these days, and it’s easy to ignore them, which is why we put “URGENT” in the subject line when the deadline is near. We also aren't permitted to send you text messages about the course since you didn't grant us permission to do so. We aren't permitted to teach the actual questions on the state knowledge test, but you can certainly learn a lot about the concepts on the test in our classes, which are also posted for free on YouTube. We do provide a study guide as well. You can also practice parallel parking with the handout we gave you, along with the video links from April 12th. You can also find an instructional one on YouTube at i5driving.com/parallel that describes our method for teaching parallel parking. We teach them how to parallel park several times on the second lesson, but they'll only remember how to do it if they practice regularly. We also aren't asking you to take the course again with us, and it's probably better that Kevin take a course with a different school. We couldn't motivate him to finish the course despite 19 attempts to contact both of you with multiple emails and phone calls begging him to complete it. The Department of Licensing will sometimes allow extensions of time for students who have extra challenges such as hospitalization, serious illness, or extra hardships, so if those apply in your case, we are happy to appeal to them for an extra extension beyond the six months we've already gone. We’ve lobbied the DOL, and they have agreed to hear an appeal, so please reach out to us at your convenience.

Fantastic experience: The staff there is really nice and friendly ! Took the knowledge test and passed. The instructor gives clear instructions when taking the test. Try to be there 10 minutes before taking the test and don’t pull out your phone while you’re taking the test or after until you receive your test score. Everything went by smoothly.

Hi, we certainly don’t like to change appointment times, especially because so many folks have to take time off from work for a driving test. It may have been that your examiner was out sick, but we do have a substitute available when that happens. We couldn’t find an appointment under this name, or with the same last name. Could it have been under a different name? Please let us know, as we’d like to fix this. We do keep extra examiners available to avoid inconveniencing anyone.

Negative experience: Can’t even provide the basic human needs as a restroom, lady at the front desk refused to give me a restroom.

Negative experience: Stop lying this is not the owner replying this is front desk listen I didn't do that she is clearly lying and I am sure there is a camera inside the vehicle so whoever replied to me should go check instead of listening to her words.this is the worst place ever people don't go to this place a bunch of unprofessional workers who only want your money only and fails you on purpose.most people failed because the do it on purpose so Don't waste your time and money on this place this is a private business with no supervisor and if you ask for the owner business contacts front desk they will refuse to give it to you instead they will give you front desk number.their very stupid.
Hi Mr. Osman, I drove to the Federal Way location to meet you there at 1:40pm, but you had already left. I reviewed your driving test, and spoke with the examiner. She had to press the brake on her side because you were about to hit someone during a right turn at a red light. Unfortunately this is an automatic disqualification on the driving exam if the examiner has to stop the car for you. By that point, however, you had already committed too many technical errors to pass. You’ll need to start using your turn signal and looking into the blind spot more often, work on not hitting the curb, and try not to drive over the yellow center line. I would highly recommend that you get a permit so you can practice driving on public roads. Having good skills in controlling the car is fine, but you'll need to avoid committing too many technical errors to pass the driving exam. These tips are all on the tip sheet we gave you (twice), and is also on our website. Fantastic experience: I had a warmup driving session and gave my road test at this location. My experience was pretty good start to end, at this place. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends, family and anybody else. Their enquiry responses are fast (email/phone). It was easy to make an appointment. The instructor for the warmup session was patient, polite and friendly. The examiner for the road test was just silent through out, except in times of requesting a maneuver (which is how it should be, since it gave me the space to demonstrate without much distractions). I felt comfortable all throughout.

Hi, we offer the knowledge exam the driving tests, and driving lessons in Russian, with tests are available at any time (you just have to tell us at the desk, but we always ask first). We also offer all of our materials and instructions in Russian, including tip sheets on how to pass both tests. Negative experience: Never would I suggest this place for new learning driver's as in my experience they are all stereotypical by using thier up most respect to foreigner people I understand they may not understand English as well as myself but they could at least keep the respect boundary neutral with everyone. This would be my 4th time taking the test and getting 9 wrong 1 over the limit mind you everytime you retake the test it has different questions. I do not think this is a coincidence.
Hi Diego, I'm sorry that you feel that we have disrespected you, and please reach out to us directly so we can review the video and speak to the examiner you worked with (it looks like your last exam was in March 2023). Three of us are native Spanish speakers, a couple of us are conversational, and the rest of us are still learning. If you would prefer to only take exams with native Spanish speakers, we can certainly arrange that for you. Regarding the knowledge tests, they are given to us by the state of Washington, and we don't have any control over the questions. We are also required to alternate between versions A, B, and C each time someone visits. If you go to a different school or location, we may have a different version number with different A, B, and C questions (there are 12 version numbers statewide). Currently, we are the only school that can give you the page numbers related to the questions you answered incorrectly, and informally, we stop charging for tests after the fifth attempt. If you do choose to visit a different school, they will likely have a different version number, and will also have different questions on each of their tests. Your best bet is to focus on pages 3-26 (school bus), 4-4 (distracted driving), 4-14 (headlights), 5-6 (marijuana), and 5-11. Those pages have the answers to the questions most commonly missed on the test.

Hi Brenda, as we mentioned to you in an email, we aren’t able to register you for a Washington license number. That requires you to enter very personal information such as your Social Security number and date of birth into the DOL’s website. You shouldn’t want us to have that info, and we gave you directions on how to accomplish this. We’re authorized for the state license exams, but not the license number or the identity documents.

Fantastic experience: I don’t understand why they have bad reviews but from my experience, they are very professional and kind. I took my written test in their Mapale Valley site, a class in their Auburn site, and my actual test on Fed Way site. They are generous in teaching techniques that even if I am already a licensed driver, I would still take a highway class with them. They are accommodating and nice! I couldn’t forget what is written on their door before my actual exam, it says, “You got this!” Thank you I-5 Team!

Fantastic experience: Honestly I was so scared to take my test. But the instructor with the lightning McQueen car helped my nerves. It helped that I didn't think of it as a test after talking with her. She honestly was amazing and I'm so glad I took my test here.
Negative experience: The “owner” of the company is rude and unprofessional. I called over the phone to schedule my drivers test he was so rude and Hang up on me. I was going to prepay for my test but his speech was so off putting.How are you the owner with this type of behavior. I’m sure he doesn’t like interacting with black people either. And I was allowed to take my written test and I passed! So how did I miss 4 test? Sir you clearly are having a bad day, so I’ll take my business else where. Your suppose to be example for your employees please do better.
Hi Ms. Harris, we asked you to prepay for your driving test, since you didn't show up to four previous appointments. We normally don't ask for prepayment unless you have missed two or more appointments, and have made multiple exceptions for you. I'm sorry that we can't continue to make exceptions in your case, but it costs us money every time you make an appointment but don't show up to it. After a while, we ask you to pay for them ahead of time. Almost every other school requires prepayment as a regular policy, and we are one of the rare ones that do not. I understand that you want to continue receiving exceptions, but at some point we have to say no. And it's quite disappointing that you feel this interaction was racially biased. We aren't going to solve inequality and inequity problems by lobbing unfounded accusations of racist behavior.
Fantastic experience: Just want to take the time and write a review because of the great experience this place had and my daughter really enjoyed the staff especially one of the instructors named Kelly but she told me she also goes by kells. This place was very helpful and answered any questions I had from start to finish. They respond to emails really quick especially when I had any concerns. They made her feel comfortable and she loved going on her test drives especially loved how they had different themes on the cars! So cool if your looking for a place that has great communication, great customer service, and great staff this is the place for you! Just want to say Thankyou for the wonderful experience!

Hi Oubaidatou, you didn't pass the course because you didn't complete the skills portion of the program, which is required by the state to earn a course completion. After having been in the program for almost a full year, taking 5 months to get your permit, putting off starting your driving lessons, not showing up for some of them, not showing up with a valid permit once you had it, skipping a lot of classes, and retaking the course again (for free) you ended up being close to finishing. However, we don't offer unlimited free driving lessons for you to complete the course. At some point, you have to demonstrate your ability to perform some basic driving skills and there is a fee to add an extra lesson.

The staff is so helpful, they got me in for testing super fast, and the test was only 50$. I was going to pay 70$ at another place, so glad I called them first! Yesterday at a different driving school I paid literally DOUBLE what they charge for the written test!! Save yourself some money and time and go here!!

Fantastic experience: I had a bad experience With a different unprofessional driving school, I decided to book with i5 driving school last minute and had a great experience. Genie was so helpful and kind and gave me great tips, answered my questions right before we started and didn’t make me feel nervous. I would recommend anyone to come here for their driving tests. It was worth the drive from burien :) ALSO they’re prices are great.

Fantastic experience: Our first 5-star round with I-5 was a little over a month ago in Maple Valley for a road test for kid #2; Federal Way was up for both a written and road test for #1. No issues with booking either test. The written was about a week out and the road test a little over a week after that (today). The instructor / examiner was friendly and did a great job of stress reduction; the test started a few minutes early and was done quickly. It’s pretty simple, know your stuff, know how to drive and things go well.

Волнение переполняло меня.Но не тут то было.Очень вежливый, доходчиво объясняющий экзаменатор прогнал все волнение прочь. Настолько все прошло легко,в непренужденой обстановке. Fantastic experience: This was a great experience with I-5! They were so amazing from calling to schedule my drive test to the actual test! But first off, let's talk about how misleading WA State DOL's website is. They list the steps to getting your first license basically as 1) take your knowledge test; 2) decide what kind of license you want and get an appointment at the DOL; and 3) then schedule a skills test at testing training center. Well, I did as their website said, passed my knowledge test and scheduled my appointment at the licensing office. The morning before my appointment, I get a phone call to confirm the appointment and they told me I didn't have my skills test and I would need that completed before the appointment. Otherwise, I would've had to schedule. I was frantic. I had to wait a month for this appointment with the DOL! Where the eff would I be able to take my skills test a day before?! I did not want to reschedule and wait another month for an appointment at the DOL! Thank you, Jeebus, for I-5 Driving!! I called around to any of the drive testing centers in my area and they were either closed or didn't have any available same-day appointments. But I-5 did and they got me on the schedule the same afternoon! The testing instructor (I think her name was Jeannie... hard to hear with our masks on) was super friendly, kind and made me feel very comfortable during my test. My test anxiety went right out the window. My whole experience was absolutely great and helped to alleviate the stress caused by the DOL. From the really friendly girl on the phone who scheduled my appointment, the front desk receptionist's great attitude and service, and the testing instructor being so easy-going and friendly, I highly recommend this place if you need to get your driver's license. A way better experience than 911 Driving School!

Negative experience: My mum had a terrible experience taking her test, the lady instructor was condescending and rude. No patience for people who can not speak English well. I would not recommend.That was the first and only time she got tested there.
Hi, that doesn’t sound like us at all. Most of us are trying to learn a second or third language, and we provide driving test instructions in 10 different languages. We are also the only school that offers signage and paper handouts in multiple languages in our locations. We gave her a free driving test after she failed the first one today within the first three minutes (our policy). Since it was her third attempt, we normally recommend some help before taking a fourth driving test. Is it possible that she misunderstood the examiner? She even rescheduled for July 1st. We know it’s tough to fail three driving tests, and we are the only school that stops charging for tests at this point. We sometimes recommend a driving lesson, but it’s never required. If anyone is struggling to pass a test, we will not encourage them to keep wasting money on tests when they really need some help instead. Most folks only need a small number of habits to change, as the driving test isn’t too difficult; just tricky.

Negative experience: This driving school should not be open to the public!!!!! First off the website is not what they are actually promoting. Also, apparently everyone’s the manager because when I called to speak to one to clarify. they would not acknowledge if they were management or not, like it was a joke saying everyone’s in charge. But it’s so clear these people are trying taking advantage!!!This is a scam school and I suggest strongly that this school is avoided. the BBB needs to know how they are operating and how inappropriate and sloppy this establishment is. Also the employees are incompetent idiots also they are benign investigated and should be avoided. I sorry this is a poor state that has to steal from foreign and out of state people because they are broke I let the keep the money as a donation because the place was so run down and got they couldn’t even afford to have on the ac. And I wasn’t even able to take the test you idiots cause the place is so incompetent. So I went somewhere else and passed it first try. That same day because the people were willing to work with me and the situation after hearing what happened to me at this location.
Hi Aaron, I'm sorry you didn't pass your state written test. We do our best to point people to the right info in the guide to help them pass, but we can't show you the questions you answered incorrectly. Those are state DOL rules, and we aren't permitted to alter them for you. We did give you the page numbers related to the questions you answered incorrectly, which is the most we are allowed to do. We also offer the tests by appointment, and just yelling at us for not allowing you to take the test whenever you want isn't productive, and makes it stressful for everyone. We offer the test 3 times a day on M-W-F here, and at 1pm or 2pm on Tues & Thurs. We do that to keep the price low ($25 for 2 attempts), while most schools charge $30-40 for just one attempt. We offered you a refund, and that offer still stands if you'd rather take your second attempt at another school.
Negative experience: My wife has a mental and social disability and when she called just to ask about if there was a private testing area or just a small area away from the large groups that are in there and the staff member Rachel discriminated her about it and their manager Ryan isn't going to do anything about it

I'm sorry that she didn't pass on the following Saturday, and I hope the page numbers will help her find the answers to the questions she missed. ORIGINAL POST: Hi Nicholas, I called your wife about 20 minutes after her interaction with us, and she did not want to talk about it at that time. I offered to call back in a couple of days, and she said that was OK. We can certainly recommend times with a much smaller group of people taking the knowledge test, especially in the morning sessions. On Monday, for example, only one person was taking the test at that time. Friday evenings are typically our busiest time for the knowledge test, and we don't have availability for testing in an empty room, unfortunately. I would have encouraged her to avoid Friday evenings. We try our best to keep the cost down, and only charge $25 for two chances to pass the test (some schools charge $30 or even $40 for a single attempt). That means that typically there will be 4-5 other people quietly taking the test at the same time in a 400-square foot room. However, most mornings are much quieter, and I always recommend those times for those who need an even quieter room. After listening to Rachel's audio on the phone call, I don't believe that discrimination took place. Here is the entire transcript of the phone call (I'll post the audio on YouTube shortly): *** "Hi this is Rachel, how can I help you?" (listening) "Mm hmm" (more explaining) "Well, you can always come in when we don’t have as many people taking the test?" (listens) "Well, you can take it at any of our locations?" (listens) "Well I understand, but no matter…well no matter where you go, someone is going to be staring at you, will always be in the room, because someone has to be in the room to make sure you are not cheating." (listens) "Mm, I don’t, Ok." (Nonie hangs up) *** We are always sensitive to individual's needs, and will try to suggest alternatives to the limit we are allowed to do so. At the moment, we aren't allowed to offer unsupervised testing in a room with no one else in it, under the Department of Licensing rules for testing centers.
Fantastic experience: I took my drive test here and the instructor is great. Obviously taking a driver's test can be nerve racking and he was so calm, chill and everything opposite of intimidating. I didn't make it feel like it was test at all. I would suggest going here, my brother took their drivers ed course and enjoyed it

Fantastic experience: the best place to go
Fantastic experience: My experience with them is getting extremely expensive for me. I have no car to practice in I was honestly looking for something closer and a bigger package the staff are lovely. It's just costing me too much and practicing is scheduled weeks out. I need blocks of time. Otherwise I am a nervous mess. Either way I appreciate the staff and their friendliness. They are good teachers. I just need more time.
Negative experience: My driving appointment was for 12:30. The reservation agent told me it would take no more than 30 minutes. I wasn’t taken until 1:15 for the driving test. Not even a courtesy apology. Very unorganized, inconsiderate and very rude.

That is very unlike us, and I’d like to find out who was serving you that day so we can find out why there was such a long delay, and fix those people. Can you help us out with a little more information? Our schedule shows a Dori on October 3rd at 11am, and all of the 12:30pm appointments for the past 10 days have different names. In the meantime, we’ll donate your testing fee to the Union Gospel Mission on your name. We don’t get to keep it when we screw up!

Fantastic experience: How do you change a 1 star review to a 5 star review? While I still seems there seems to be in consistent information about being able to take two classes in one day and that after taking the classes I still contented 2 hours in a day would have been nothing. The second chance I gave them was well worth it! The lessons were very informative and the instructors were nice. The make sure to actually teach you what you need to know and give constructive feedback on what you need to improve on. It took me two chances for me to pass but the instructor delayed his break so I could retake before 5
Hi Corey, we stopped offering 2-hour driving lessons about 3 years ago for several reasons. First, the instructors need a 5-minute break between lessons, to stretch their legs and clear their heads. You can probably imagine that it is a pretty stressful job at times. We have to give them a short break so we don't get burned out too quickly. You are able to schedule (2) 1-hour driving lessons back-to-back that would have a 5-minute break in between, but not a consecutive 2-hour long drive. Second, every 2-hour lesson we have offered in the past went well for the first hour, but the second hour was mostly exhausting for the trainees. We pack a lot into each hour, and you'll need a lot of carbs before each lesson; we're going to burn that brain fuel! The last person that tried it was exhausted, and he wanted to just drive around for the second hour. I tried to talk him in to ending it early then rescheduling the second hour, but he refused. That was a waste of money for him, and I ended up giving him a free driving test to make up for it (he passed). Third, we also want to maximize your value for these lessons. We offer a 3-pack of 1 hour lessons for a lower price, because that is all that most people need. They usually take the driving test during the third hour (it's included), because they don't need the additional training. But when you try to do too much at once, you tend to forget a lot of the things in the middle of the lesson. We aren't content to just drive around for a couple of hours, but there may be driving schools that will simply take your money without providing a value in return. If you want to just drive around and don't care what you actually learn, we can't help you. Our goal is to get folks ready to drive, and have them spend as little money as possible. We don't offer a 10-pack of lessons because you shouldn't need that many (other schools do). We don't offer a 2-hour long driving lesson because it is a terrible value and you won't learn as much, but another school might offer it. I'm sorry that you weren't willing to take a 5-minute break between hours, but that is a requirement for our mutual safety and well-being. I wish you the best in your journey to get a license. You seemed like a very determined person when we spoke on the phone, and I'm sure driving will come very easy for you. I am truly sorry that we could not help you get there.

Fantastic experience: My son got to go through this class with two of his buddies and it was a wonderful experience. All three boys came out after every lesson able to explain to me in detail what they learned in each class. All three are very good drivers I would recommend this class to anyone who lives in the Federal Way area
Positive experience: I needed my license ASAP, so I called around to different drive schools so I can take a written and driven. They were completely booked but got me in for a standby. Wasn't happy with some of the service and they called to correct it. Got my license and better service
