Negative experience: I am writing to express my experience with this organization's staff . I have felt as though I had lost money and time just attempting to study here. I was first introduced to the driving instructor Diego, which I felt as though he wasn't giving me clear guidance even when I was communicating my confusion. Mr.Diego did not display to me any coordination in his lessons. I felt as though there was no progress or focused agenda while learning with him. Not to say that I know more than an instructor. but if i have only 3 courses i would assume you'd have to teach me what i need to know within that time frame. A prime example is when he taught me how to park my vehicle towards the end of my 3rd lesson because I brought it to his attention. He also did not take into consideration the things that made me uneasy while I was on the wheel. For the most part my driving was very predictable, But he was frequently attempting to grab my wheel, WITH BOTH HANDS!! when he could just easily step on his emergency brakes. I had asked him multiple times if he believed we were going to crash and he replied "No". So I politely asked him to behave more calmly and be more patient with me. However, his communication style did not change so I had asked for another instructor. In order for me to change my instructor I had to speak with the lady at the front desk. in which she gave me another class out of courtesy. I wasn't going to be able to make it to that class. She called me in the middle of the week attempting to confirm my appointment. I had told her my plan to reschedule but that I couldn't be on the phone long because I was at work at the time. The day I was originally scheduled, she calls me to ask me why I didn't show up to my class in a condescending manner. I firmly believe that no staff should approach a situation with that type of demeanor because It creates a hostile environment. She proceeded to say that I had gotten a text reminder. I had to repeat myself to her,reschedule and correct her cause I did not receive any message. When I arrived on the day I rescheduled, I thought I was going insane. The women at the front desk introduced me AGAIN to Diego as if he was a new instructor to me. Being that I'm paying for these courses It made me feel super uncomfortable and undervalued. This really made me rethink receiving services from this organization. It was also very disrespectful and uncomfortable being that the instructor is now aware that I am not content and would prefer another instructor. There was also another incident in which I couldn’t arrive to one of my classes due to an emergency and I had one of my family members communicate that to the receptionist because I couldn't get in contact with them myself. receptionist felt so entitled that she proceeded by scolding my family member over the phone about me. I don’t know why she felt so comfortable to express herself like that . Maybe because she assumed that because we are of the same Dominican culture that I would understand , accept and comply with her behavior . Overall, They have no sense of professionalism and are very unorganized. Please do not commit to any package lessons here . Literally a waste of money. I spent $260 for bad customer service. I really had high hopes for them but my expectations were not even close to being met. This is referring to the school located at 1208 Franklin Ave

Negative experience: The woman at the reception was very LAZY .She was like a child.Her response was the worst. I was just wasting money and time here. I'll never buy a ticket from you again.If you can't do it, you should tell to it. I waited for three weeks over for a reply that I couldn't do, and she said I DON’T CARE!!and hung up the phone. Before you hang up the phone, you still have a job to refund to me who I haven't met yet. I was given the worst customer service!!

Fantastic experience: My instructor Pedro was amazing he thought me how to do everything Specially parking. He gave me some tips on how to park perfectly every time, even if I messed up he thought me how to fix it. He got me 100% ready for my test. I signed up for the classes a week ago and I took my road test today I got lucky enough that someone canceled today so I was able to take it. I suggest you go here if you want your license. Very good !!!!

They work if your budget as well. The staff is respectful they do good that they got people from Brooklyn a queens joining this driving school. Keep it up. This year I will get my license for sure

Fantastic experience: I wasn't so confident the first time I took my lesson but my teacher had so much patiences and reassured me that I can do it. Hands down the best teacher! Before my road test I was super nervous and scared I'll fail, but my teacher told me I got it and that I'll pass. Not only that, the kind lady made an exception for me to get this done on a Sunday. She's wonderful for considering my schedule and working around their time for me❤️❤️ Highly recommend this school!

Jerry my instructor made it extremely easy and comfortable.. he is kind and patient, and will teach you how to drive and pass the road test. So Ask for Jerry at the Lydig location!!! Also I recommend requesting to take your road test at the Yonkers test site.

Negative experience: when I first started with them everything seem okay. I had a busy schedule and long story short the lady in charge los my 5 hour class they were very unorganized especially he drivers. The lady at the front seem to have a lot going and she will always say I will call u back and never did. I am so disappointed I waisted my time and money here. I never got a call back my 5 hour class expired the worst place to go get ur driver lisence. the only cool guy there was the husband I believe but his wife horrible costumer service. do not recommend at all.

Negative experience: Honestly the instructors aren’t the best at explaining what to do. I predominately had one instructor who literally would just keep telling me turn the wheel instead of giving clear instructions on how much to turn the wheel.Which lead her telling me every turn that I either turned it to little or too much. The other instructor was a bit better but still didn’t give clear instructions. Honestly if I didn’t watch YouTube videos I wouldn’t have known what to do on my own.And after all that I was set up to fail because they send you with a whole new car that you’ve never operated before for the test. Went to another school and the instructor was good and I get to drive the same car as it should be.

Negative experience: I would only like to thank Ruth my instructor for the prolific games she though me and I passed. Whatsoever, the whole front desk needs tune up. Customers need to feel comfortable walking in and walking out. And the 5 hour pre class needs some professionalism cause for a company that's been here for 2 decades already. RUTH

If you value your time and money, don’t waste your time even entertaining especially if you are African American and don’t speak Spanish. I paid for a package, however I know I’m missing one class. I scheduled a road test once I got there the receptionist said I don’t think you should take the test without another lesson. She waited til I showed up the day of the test to say. After that I should of never went back but silly of me. Went back again and this experience was even worst. Because of Covid there doing zoom meeting. I already took the 5 hr class, it’s not that serious. But because I didn’t raise my finger this crooked eye instructor felt the need to get cute and disrespectful. So I decided to address the matter. I told the same receptionist that if I’m paying you money, don’t be disrespectful. As man talking with your hand up very unprofessional and disrespectful. Then he proceeded to speak in Spanish and his last word in English I’m done with her. The receptionist tells me oh you have to just pay attention. I literally don’t care because I took the 5 hr class and by their fault I didn’t even take a road test. I asked for a refund then she say I need the receipt. These people need to be taught a lesson on professionalism.

Positive experience: They are not very organized but overall good instructors; you have to find someone that you are comfortable with. I took most lessons with Maria. She is amazing and teaches you a lot. She deserves a raise, thanks to her for the useful tips.

Negative experience: I am in the process of studying for my exam and popped in there to chat about it and possibly make arrangements. No one greeted me when I walked in and there seemed to be a hostile feel to the air. I’m not sure if it was a language barrier as to why no one spoke to me first, but eventually I caught the attention of a gruff looking older man (I don’t know if it was Pedro or not-as I’ve seen in another review), by that time, I just wanted to get the manual and leave. He charged $1 for it.

Fantastic experience: Great value for the price , passed first try.

Negative experience: Went there twice my first instructor spoke very low and had a bad attitude. My second instructor was too scared to be teaching me. I’ve driven before and wasn’t doing anything crazy but he didn’t want to let go of the wheel until I said so. He also raised his voice at me a couple times, which you should never do because it startles the driver. His name was Alberto

Negative experience: They scheduled me twice for a driving lessons and they literally missed both appointment. I gave them my address again ,because they stated they didn't have it on file. Which I know is a lie because you have to fill out paperwork and give the your permits ID with your address on it. I was only two blocks away .. Then when I called the school Nobody picked up.....

Negative experience: I booked 2 lessons and a car for the road test back in March paid in full! 1st lesson scheduled for April 10th 2PM. NO ONE showed! I call the school no one can find his name scheduled for today or the date scheduled for the road test! I come to the office with my receipt and demand a full refund and the copy of my son's Learners permit! They CAN NOT FIND IT! They have no idea what they did with his ID along with his personal information!! The start talking in Spanish amongst themselves! They pull out piles and piles of paper and folders searching for the copy of his information! I waited 40 minutes!! Now I have to file a police report!

Fantastic experience: I took 4 classes with 2 of the instructors, Diego and Genaro. I thought I knew how to drive until I attended those classes, I DID NOT. However, they both were very kind, professional and comfortable to learn with because while they are showing you techniques to perfect your driving, their being respectful and building your confidence. I loved it, I passed my exam that day! All thanks to them and me of course. The classes were cheap as well

Negative experience: WORST experience with a driving school ever. I paid $335ish for 6 classes, 5 hour class, my road test appointment and the car. In none of these 6 (45 minute!) classes did the instructor bother to teach me anything. They will constantly tell you that you need more lessons while also not giving you any good lessons AT ALL. One instructor was extremely rude and just yelled directions at me basically and the other spent all his (AND MINE) time flirting with me and they both taught me NOTHING. Very upsetting and disappointed for the price, expected a better experience.

Positive experience: The instructor Genaro is the best! He tells you how it is and has great experience, I passed my test today because of him and his good instructions. However, the instructor Rudy is not good, when I had a class with him he was very rude, condescending and spent most of the time on his phone while I was driving. I would definitely not recommend him as an instructor. The administration is nice and attentive.

Negative experience: Rented a bike , they took the payment and then Ingroned me after the payment !! Made me wait nd let me go to test without a licensed instructor !! And they didn't give me a refund !! Don't ever pay them before your roadtest !!

Fantastic experience: If you are a beginner this is definitely the go to school! They are so patient, people friendly and really care about helping you learn to drive safely and pass your road test. My instructor was Diego and he is AMAZING! So patient, yet stern when he needs to be and so knowledgeable. He makes you feel comfortable behind the wheel and will teach you all the tips you need to know to pass your road test. I passed my road test on the first try and it was all thanks to Diego for being so patient with me and always telling me what I needed improvement in and working with me to make sure I perfected my driving skills. First time I took a lesson with him he was rude and giving me attitude, I thought maybe he was just having a bad day, so I gave him two more chances and his behavior didn’t change... He was giving me attitude and every time I made a mistake, he would yell at me, I told him that he needs to learn how to speak more nicely to me cause if I knew how to drive I wouldn’t pay him to teach me, he flipped out when I said that and kicked me out of the car like a psychopath!!I still don’t understand how people like him have a job. Horrible experience I don’t recommend him to anybody he is unprofessional instructor who just hates his job...

Fantastic experience: I'm not from the bronx but I so happen to work nearby the school. Taken the road test twice in queens went to two different schools and worse instructors didn't learn a thing. And short period of time in this school took 7 lessons and I passed. Crazy to say all thanks to Genaro he was hands down the best instructor very patient and straightforward. I pass the test with 80 percent. I'm beyond happy that after my 4th attempt I passed. I get very bad anxiety but so glad my instructor was able able to take me today gave me that confidence and reassurance that I need it.

Negative experience: There are only a few good instructors here, some of the staff are professional and I mean only some. I went to this school when it was under another owner. But when I came back things were really unorganized. Especially the main school. Because the main school was unorganized it affected everything in the other school. The top administration is the real issue. Talk about money hungry and not caring about giving their students a good driving education. I even saw the owner of the school flirting with one of the workers, I wonder how his wife would feel about that? That is really unprofessional especially in public on the clock. The CEO/President represents the whole company and that stunt was one of many things wrong. I heard many students complain that instructors were rude, loud and screamed when things were done wrong. Only 2 decent instructors there... everyone gets HORRIBLE pay compared to what driving schools are suppose to pay their instructors. Obviously the only one making money is the owner because he boasts about having mansions, etc. Though if he owned mansions the school would probably not be in carajoland. The owner speaks english but its real hard to understand him. Therefore unless you speak Spanish you're done. They make empty promises, lie and cheat the system to keep their corrput business going. Its a disgrace to Hispanics who truly work hard for their money only to repeat the same systematic corroption. They might as well be in bed with politicians. They dont have instructors to meet the needs of both schools because honestly, who wants to work getting paid below minimun wage when driving instructors should be making $25 per lesson? The owner avoids conflict and tries to cover things up in order that things go his way rather then keeping integrity. Then again, he did flirt with another woman so integrity is out of the question. I wouldn't recommend this school because it's filled with gangster wannabes.

Fantastic experience: Went to the best way on lydig ave and signed up for 10 lessons. The lady on the phone Sally was always super nice and helpful. Would always send a text the day of to remind you of your lesson. The instructor Cystal was great. Makes you feel comfortable from the first time you sit behind the wheel. Super friendly and informative, she gives you everything you need to pass your road test. Needless to say I passed my road test with flying colors on the first try. Nothing but high praise for the staff at Best Way over at the Ludig ave. location.

Fantastic experience: My experience with Best way was amazing! I had no experience with driving and when I told the owner he had no problem comforting me when I told him how nervous I was. The receptionist was very Kind and always called me in the morning of the beginning of the week to set up my lessons around my work schedule at whatever time was convenient for me. Last but not least my instructor Emilio was amazing, He taught me not only how to drive but the confidence to drive and was with me every step of the way in helping me get my drivers license from not knowing how to steer straight to the day I passed my test. I will never forget someone who taught me such an important life skill!!!! I’m hoping that this review will encourage more people to go to this amazing school. I always recommend this school to everyone I know. I went from a job as a money room attendant to working at the department of health and mental hygiene all with my drivers. Thank you best way !

Fantastic experience: By far Best Way Driving School is one of the best driving schools I have been to. I had gone to another driving school in Astoria before coming here and I am so glad that I stopped going there because I learned so much from Mr.Diego. Mr.Diego is one of the best instructors I have had who actually cares that his students know how to drive safely and correctly on the road. He has a very calm demeanor and that helped me a lot with my nervousness as a first time driver. Thanks to him I also passed my road test on the first try. The office staff is also friendly and very flexible .

Fantastic experience: I had picked and chose Best Way Driving School in 2015. I wasn’t ready so I had put getting my license on hold. I returned this year and my instructor was Crystal. Crystal is an exceptional Driving Instructor. She is multitasked, understanding and intellectual and fun to be around. I loved the way she teaches. Everything she has taught was a great benefit for my road test. The school is very patient and informative. Whether you’re a beginner or an intemmidiate, Best Way will make sure that you are on your level and will work very hard with you on your weaknesses. I’m an endless self- improver -so improving students was my favorite quality I’ve admired from Best Way Driving. It’s not about just learning how to drive. But, learning the necessary tools to become a great driver! I passed my road test on my first try, and It was a tricky snowy day. But- I did it! Thank you Best Way: Thank you Crystal! I'm on the phone right now with a different number they gave me. 20 minutes waiting and still waiting.. Going to cancel through my pay pal... Waist of my time. Don't bother with this site. Fantastic experience: TLTR: extreme flexibility, excellent service, very affordable in comparison to Manhattan prices. I was under a strict deadline to get my driver license, so had to sign up for a test on White Plains instead of in the Bronx as there were no more slots available. The Bronx tends to be Manhattan driving academies favorite place to get the road test done. So I called Best Way Driving School just 3 days before my road test. I knew how to drive, but let my driving license expire a decade ago after living in Manhattan for so long without the need of a car. I called at 9 pm, Pedro answers and with a lot of flexibility, schedules not only 2 back to back sessions but also he offered to drive me to the White Plains testing site with the car I used for the test in exchange for a reasonable fee. The sessions were very useful, they removed bad habits I had and the better way to do parallel parking and do the 3 point turn stuck with me from now on. The feedback I've gotten during the session was polite and very accurate at the same time. It allowed for a fast learning curve. Overall, going to the Bronx to get my road lessons done in this academy was a very efficient use of time. In hindsight, I should have bought a package that included the 5-hour course as well (I did that at a driving academy in Manhattan instead). I passed my test without any points taken out (your max is 35) but a bit of a feedback that matched 100% what Pedro warned me about, so there were no surprises.

Fantastic experience: I failed the road test a week before going here. I took three class at S&S Auto school and felt I didn’t learn anything. I didn’t want to go here because the reviews aren’t great but I had 2 weeks left to learn for my next road test. My first lesson was with John, he teach me knowledgeable things but I was not comfortable you can see he gets upset if you make a mistake. When I left I felt I would need 5 classes or more, so I purchase the 5 lessons. My Next lesson they switch my instructor I was a little annoyed due to the fact I wasn’t told prior. I told Pedro Dont switch my instructor no more. Well a miracle happen! My next lesson was with Crystal. She is absolutely amazing. I felt very comfortable and confident with her. She teaches that you understand. She is not critical at all. Crystal breaks down every step and let you know your mistake and how to fix it without feeling grilled. I told her my weakness and we worked hard on it. Anything else she felt I need to work on we also did. She is the best instructor. Every single lesson I took with her I learn so much. I took two 90 minute lesson and a 45 minute lesson the day before the road test. She took me to my road test which helped me relax and I passed my road test! Thanks so much. The receptionist is very nice and she always kept me informed.

Negative experience: I wish I can give them no stars they are the worst school .... I spent time and money here and all I got was instructors talking bout the damn weather all the time and instructors flirt with you instead of teaching you it gotten so bad during one lesson I stop and have nevours break down and cried cuz asswipe kept punching breaks instead helping me and telling me ....... I went to better place and I passed if your going spend money go a good place that will help you and teach you if first time driving

Negative experience: giving this driving school a 1 star is a stretch.. first thing's first they need to hire people who know how to treat others and aren't constantly screaming that you're doing something wrong! the whole point of people going to driving schools are because we need someone to show us how to drive but instead the instructors scream and jam on the break and not tell you how to correct your error! my instructor gave me the worst anxiety and made my experience the worst! and after 5 lessons i still felt i needed more because they barely showed me but only told me what i needed to do.. and the 5 hour is a joke pedro will tell you what the examiners at the road test site expects from you but its A LIE!!! they tell you everything you need to do to fail! you know this school is a joke when you have to purchase your own vehicle and pass your road test without their help! save your money and stay away from best way

Negative experience: Drivers are disrespectful, would never ever go here. Instructers are trash scumbags that just want peoples money would recommend anywhere but here Saw several of their cars out in the road, breaking many rules. Cutting people off and cursing at other drivers
