Fantastic experience: If you purchased a BMW it is worth going to the performance center if you are in the area. We got to drive 6 m series cars on course and x5 off road. Experience was very good. Would recommend it.

Fantastic experience: We raced M3s and M4s individually and also sat in with professional drivers. Driving yourself was an amazing experience but sitting in with a pro on the wheels was just an insanely cool experience.

Negative experience: I've done it three years in a row and we just went with the club. Probably the worst experience of the three years. Left us in the classroom until we had such a limited time that we only got to do three of the six events. I think we were down to probably two hours and then we showed up at the track part 30 minutes before they were going to close just to have them tell us that they ran out of gas. The instructor david T told us it's not his problem. Really it's not your problem? Whose problem is it? Maybe next time we'll bring a 5 gallon jug and donate it to him. Anyways, all the instructors were super cool as usual and overall, we had a good time. I bought four tickets from my family for the day so that's probably quite a bit of money to drop for very limited driving.

Fantastic experience: The One-Day M school was such an INCREDIBLE experience. I was hoping to improve my skills as a driver and this will help me do exactly that. The instructors all have an excellent way of explaining complex concepts simply and their methodology of teaching is honestly unmatched. Their progressive approach to developing skills made it easy for me to adopt the things they were teaching, even if it will take me some time overall to perfect. If your goal is to learn good foundational techniques while having an amazing time across various driving activities, you won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic experience: We did experience because we got an invitation from BMW for buying i4. We got to drive 4 different cars on race track. That was just amazing. Each 4 laps and we took turns to drive all cars along with driver switch. We also drive off road driving on X5. Finale was sitting with the instructors when they drove sports cars. That was just amazing. Incredible experience. My only wish when they gave us the laps, wish the laps had little longer stretch for speeding before the turns.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful facility, knowledgeable instructors, and a variety of classes to choose from. I dived in head first and registered for a one-day M School session months ago. I opted for a class in November because dealing with the 100+ degree heat in Palm Springs during the summer is not something I find enjoyable. The weather was perfect today... in the high 70's / low 80's. I walked onto the campus with mixed emotions. I was excited to be getting behind the steering wheel of various M-series cars, but also nervous because I've never driven on a race track before. Upon arrival, the day started with complimentary coffee/tea, fruit and a variety of snacks. The classroom session was led by instructor and professional driver Chris Hill. We went over some basics on how to best navigate the courses. Once the logistics were out of the way, it was time to get behind the wheel. M2's, M4's and M8's were provided for the different sessions and each session was led by a different instructor. We had the pleasure of being taught by professional race car drivers David Thilenius, Dave McMillan and Cam (I didn't get Cam's last name). Each car was equipped with a 2-way radio and this is how the instructors would communicate with the drivers. After a few hours of driving, we had a lunch break. Lunch was provided and there was a nice variety of food options: salads, sauteed kale, mashed potatoes, beef & chicken....and for dessert.... soft serve ice cream. After lunch, it was time to get back on the track and test some of the skills learned from the morning sessions with challenges such as Time Attack and Rat Race. Overall, it was a fantastic day and I learned so much. Not only were the instructors all very knowledgeable, they were also all very comedic, which made the sessions light and fun. I am most grateful that they all were so kind and gracious to help calm my nerves as a newbie. I would 100% recommend taking a class at the BMW Performance Center for anyone wanting to learn some great driving techniques while having fun doing so.

Negative experience: We recently bought a brand new BMW i7. As a part of the purchase we were offered the New Owners BMW Performance Driving School. When I called to book, I was told that they have nothing avalable, that they will send me an email, and eventually that they cannot schedule me for the school because "It is a used car" which is incorrect. What a scam... and I thought that BMW was a legitimate company that can be trusted!

Negative experience: I recently had a frustrating experience with the BMW Performance Center, and I feel compelled to share it to help others who might be considering booking with them. First, good luck trying to reach someone on the phone within 30 minutes! Each time I called, I encountered an automated system that presented me with three options: Leave your number: If you choose this option, they promise to call you back within 24 hours. Are you kidding me? I left my number twice, and guess what? No one ever called me back. This lack of follow-up is simply ridiculous and incredibly disappointing. Continue waiting on the line: While this option does eventually get you through, I was met with a constant stream of messages stating that all representatives were busy assisting other customers and to expect a longer-than-usual wait time. This wouldn’t be so bad, but I called at 7 AM, right when they literally just opened. You want me to believe they had an overwhelming number of calls about their events at that hour? It’s hard to take that seriously. Email their support email: This option might work for some, but prepare to wait until the next day to receive a response. It's frustrating to have to resort to email when urgent matters arise. My troubles didn’t end with the call center. I also had a terrible experience with a cancellation and refund process at the BMW Performance Center. From my experience, my advice is: do not book and pay unless you are absolutely sure! They charge your card immediately but only start processing refunds 10 or more days later. This isn't due to waiting on other parties like credit card companies; it’s just their internal process. They won’t even touch your refund request until the 10 days have passed. In my situation, my refund wasn't processed until 12 business days after I initiated it. To make matters worse, my credit card company then took an additional 5 days to reflect the refund in my account. So, in total, it took about 3 to 4 weeks to get my money back, which is utterly frustrating! Having gone through this entire ordeal, my final verdict is clear: only book if you’re very sure about your decision. The refund process is no fun at all and can be a huge hassle. Additionally, BMW Performance Center, it’s 2024—please enhance your online processing system! Booking and handling promo codes should not be restricted to phone calls. It’s time for a company like BMW to modernize its approach to customer service and streamline these processes.

Fantastic experience: My 22 year old son and I have been talking trash about our drag racing skills, and looking forward to this trip for months. We were NOT disappointed. Racing in the M2, M8 and i5 was an incredible experience. Only equaled by the track time in the M240i. I know this isn't designed to be a truly educational experience. But, some helpful tips from pro drivers can really improve your driving on and off the track. Highly recommend, and not just because I beat the boy. It did make it a little sweeter, though.

Fantastic experience: I gave the M Class experience to my husband for his birthday. It was a little difficult to actually book the two day class, we ended waiting months. However it was amazing. He came home from the first day buzzing with excitement and adrenaline. He just loved it. I cannot recommend this enough. However you have to be a thrill seeker. My husband is an extreme sports guy, who earns his living on the Bering Sea. Not much scares him. He said this was a little scary- the high speeds- but also one of the best things he’s ever done.

Fantastic experience: If you think that you know your M car, you're wrong, go there and understand better what a machine you have

Negative experience: I booked a trip for myself and my two best friends to surprise my buddy for his 21st bday. After selling my kidney to afford it, and booking our airbnb, a week later the performance center calls me. They call to inform me that the experience that I agreed to and paid for is not longer available. They explained to me that instead of driving SUV’s off road I’ll be driving a car on the track with a headset on my head. This ladies and gentlemen is what I like to call a scam. This is extremely misleading and dishonest. They gave me a full refund of course but because they chose to call me a week and a half after I booked my airbnb and not as soon as possible, I was only able to collect half what I paid for airbnb after cancelling. Extremely disappointed and will never be bringing business to these scam artists again.

Negative experience: Returning from a funeral from the Imperial Valley my Tesla charge depleted faster than expected. The BMW performance center was listed as the nearest charge station. With only 5 miles left on my charge the male attendant denied any form of assistance. But was very quick to remind me I chose the car I have..... Mind you I have a 2 year old child and it's 113 degrees in the desert. This combat dress for war traffic attended wouldn't even allow 1 adult and child sit in a cool room while a tow truck was called. Is the the face of BMW? As a current BMW owner as well as a tesla owner I would never think the BMW brand would support the lack of humanity and compassion for a stranded driver.

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience and this was our third time doing the classes. I feel like anyone driving a high performance BMW should have to do this!! Chris and Case are amazing instructors and drivers along with the other instructors. Look forward to more classes!! Thank you

Fantastic experience: I had previously done a one-day M school about two years ago, and just recently booked a four-hour private instruction session on the South Palm Course at Thermal. My instructor was Rick and I can’t say enough great things about the session. Rick has an ability to communicate his significant knowledge and skill into understandable terms and techniques that made the on-track experience far exceed my expectations. My anxiety was quickly replaced with confidence as he guided me through controlling the car on the skid-pad, then steering inputs, brake technique, and line choice on-track. To summarize, the BMW Performance Center at Thermal is an amazing facility, everything is done first-class, and Rick is a very gifted driver and instructor.” Steve Johnston

Negative experience: I am extremely disappointed with the BMW Performance Center West. I have been trying to reach them for three days now, and every single time I call, no one picks up the phone. It's as if they have vanished into thin air! Even when I tried calling during their supposed opening hour, all I got was a message saying that everyone was busy. How is it possible that no one can pick up the phone during business hours? To add insult to injury, I received an email four days ago about a complimentary track drive from BMW, and I have been eagerly trying to contact them ever since to arrange it. But guess what? Still waiting for that call back! I mean trying since 3 days is a bit too long! This level of incompetence and disregard for customer service is absolutely unacceptable. If this is how BMW treats its customers, then I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I went here on a group visit, and I really enjoyed myself. There were several different driving courses that we did. The first one we did, was a hot lap, where we were a passenger in a vehicle on the lap race, where there was an expert driver. if you’re afraid of speed, do not do this one. The second event that we did was the skid plate for the polished concrete slide out burnout where you get to drive on a very slippery surface with the traction off. This lets the car spin out and skid, while you’re chasing other people, but it’s all fun and very exciting. The final thing we did was drive in a timed race, relay race where the fastest times posted won the event, and that was a lot of fun as well. Of course, safety is Paramount and there is some training before you get into any vehicle but at the end of the day it’s a great group activity, or a great place to learn how to drive.

Fantastic experience: If I could give this place 6-Stars I would. Everything from the facility, to the staff, to the food, to the vehicles is 100% top-notch / professional. Most fun I've ever had with anything to do with cars in my life (& I've had a lot of fun in/with cars over the decades I've been driving).

Fantastic experience: Very fun! My brothers and I did the 1-day M school on 12/20/2023 and we had a blast. My favorite was the slid pad. Competing for fastest time, rat-racing, and longest drift were thrilling. The instructors were great and encouraging - we pushed these cars as hard as we were capable of pushing them.

Fantastic experience: Did the Performance Center Drive experience for my boyfriend's birthday and it was incredible. Started off the day with some off-roading and then we got to the racetrack. We rotated between 4 different models and everyone got a turn to do their laps. I was worried 2 hours wouldn't feel like enough but I truly believe it was the perfect amount of drive time. My boyfriend was as happy as a kid in a candy shop. Highly recommend this experience to everyone!

Fantastic experience: Great staff make this a fun experience. Course is small, sort of a glorified kart track. Food is pretty good, but the gift shop feels lacking. Attended multiple events here and will return again!

Fantastic experience: The BMW one day M school is an amazing experience. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable & was v.patient in getting the point across. They also served some amazing food for lunch! Couldn’t get any Uber from this location to airport. Consider renting a car. I would urge the BMW center to solve this by providing a shuttle to PalmSprings airport.

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of attending the Mini Cooper driving school yesterday. Big shout out to David and Cam who truly made the experience very special. Those guys were great at making us feel right at home, while pushing our limits behind the wheel. They were patient, gave valuable and pertinent advice, all while keeping it fun and light. I am definitely going to be back to attend the M driving school, as was highly recommended by Cam. I’m hooked! Cannot wait to see these guys again, with even more capacity behind some M machines! Those hot laps following Cam in the mini were the most excitement I’ve had in a while! Thanks to David, Cam, and the entire crew who made the event so spectacular. Everything was on point 10/10 from start to finish, including lunch, service, cleanliness, snacks and beverages. As a business owner, it was more than evident that BMW had thought of everything. Huge props to BMW for such a special place. I’ll be back!

Went for the 2hr driving experience and did some off-roading in a brand new X7 M60i first, then did an hour on the track driving some of the top cars BMW has to offer! Cam the instructor was so cool and friendly. I’d go back just to hangout with him. Will definitely come back again when I’m in the area!

Negative experience: READ before going. I love the brand and all but this performance center is such a a scam. Buying an hour session you only get 20 minutes and they tell you to pound sand.

Negative experience: Trying to book this is a nightmare. Bought gift cards as I was directed by an employee, went to book it during a discount promotion and they would not let me get a discount AND use the "general" gift cards. They expected me to pay an extra $350. My friend referred me and bought a gift card that he then used for the same event with the discount. After owning 7 BMWs and this experience, I asked for my refund 4/5/2023. Talk about taking the fun out of it and damaging your brand.

With several track configuration optionsn to choose from, no matter what BMW series you're driving, you will truly get to experience what this machine is all about! The BMW driving school is extremely well designed and executed with staff and crew that truly believe in what they do! The instructors are extremely fun and easy to talk to no matter your level of driving skill and ability. The classroom sessions are super detailed and can teach a novice driver lots of useful off the track information and an experienced amateur racer some tricks of the trade! It's fun for singles, couples, teams or even corporate events! If you are looking to steer and gear ⚙️ your way around the track with a safe, informative, compassionate and knowledgeable team, in the ultimate driving machine, book a session and head on down. She is awesome at what she does and will go above and beyond to ensure you or your team will have a wonderful experience!

Fantastic experience: Spent the day with them for the MINI Autocross and Track School! Brian was a great instructor! Running around in JCWs, slaloms, learning how to brake, maneuvering the car through loss of traction, running the track, and timing courses! The food was a bonus! We'll be back for more! More MINI merchandise would be great - only complaint.

Positive experience: The BMW center is quite amazing, even though it's quite far. The center is very clean, and has a pretty nice gift shop. I was there for the half day experience, and taking out my awful experience with Patrick(instructor) it was okay. Taking the instructor out of the equation, Off-road experience was pretty fun and cool to see how capable (I'm sure they're way more capable) the x5s are. The mini auto-cross was also fun, but the only problem is that if you have a slow group, you wont really be able to push the car as you'll be stuck behind whoever's in front of you, as they send out all the cars all at once. I also have to thank BMW of America and BMW Performance Center, as they handled my issue with Patrick(instructor), who was extremely rude and giving me an extremely hard time for no reason. TL;DR: Avoid having Patrick as your instructor and you'll have a good time.

Fantastic experience: We loved our 2 day M course! You will drive M Cars for around 5 and a half hours per day. They have a variety of different training courses and instructors to really help you elevate your driving! They take your experience serious and want you to improve. Our class had 18 participants which split into 3 groups of 6 for most of the training excercises. During the actual track runs we split into smaller groups of 3 and each worked with different instructors and vehicles around the course. Definitely a ton of fun to legally put a car up to 140 mph! Haha. Along with this you learn plenty of useful techniques and elevate your vision and awareness. I have a new appreciation for professionals who understand so many technical mechanics I would never have thought of! If your looking for an opportunity to become a better driver and push cars to the limit this is for you!

Positive experience: Incredible experience although I was comped the 2 hour session when purchasing my BMW. I had a benz in the past and they comped the full day school. Anyways still a fun experience if you're a beginner but if you have any track experience, IMO unless it's convenient for you to get to the location it isn't worth the time. It's really only 35 mins of track time the other hour was their off road demonstration... overall fun but not worth paying or for experienced drivers.

Fantastic experience: I've been here a few times and the experience is always awesome. There's always a grin on my face and I always look forward to coming back! The instructors are all professional drivers by career and very knowledgeable. Due to current events, they have told me there is a tire shortage. So be advised, events that involve burning rubber are being temporarily limited to conserve the tires they do have.

Positive experience: Superlative car control training! I took the same course decades ago which had one advantage over the current course, and that is to have a professional driver IN the student's car, in the right seat, when learning the line, technique, and driving maneuvers (e.g., maximum acceleration, threshold braking, looking ahead to the apexes to "straightening the curves" ). Learning these things when you are listening to the instructor over the radio when you're 5 cars and 5 curves behind is impossible. A big disappointment was when I tried to sign up two family numbers for the course with the 20% discount offered to me as a recent former student. The sign up could not be made because I didn't have the discount code , the email it was supposedly in, nor given to me from a previous follow-up phone call. Bottom line: The course is almost perfect. The business process to sign up for the course is exasperating!

Fantastic experience: I have visited BMWPCW many times and always leave the center with a huge smile. I have done 2 day M School, 2 day Advanced M School, Mini Stunt School, GT4 Experience, BMW CCA M Club Day and M Track Day, and each event is fun and challenging in its own way. The instructors are amazing and I leave a better driver after each event.

Fantastic experience: For my 60th birthday my family paid for be to have 2 hours of drive track time with an instructor in another car. Leading and coaching me. I do have quite a bit of experience with professional go kart racing when I was in my teenage years. I have always enjoyed and am an avid fan of any type of racing where an engine is involved. I have not raced on a track since I was 16. Well let me tell all of you!!!!... Please don't wait til your too old, too slow reaction to do this. I had more fun than anything else ive ever done!! Except maybe making my 4 kids and all the practice that takes! Im not very coordinated to play baseball, football, basketball but have always been a very good driver. I was the kid in school that never got picked for the sports team but when I turned 15 and drove the coolest , fastest car in my high school I was finally the cool kid. Had all the girls! Because I had the coolest cars! My dad was a hot rodder and a racer so he knew cars! TODAY I got to get in the ZONE that I hadn't experienced since I was in a go kart! It all came back to me and even the instructor claimed he was surprised . I was able To go as fast as I like(128 mph) while following, chasing an instructor! My instructor was a professional race car driver and knew what he was doing. Again I cant stress enough to please go and do this! Before its too late or your too old!!! Thank you so very much BMW for my birthday and DAVE! for all your help!

Fantastic experience: THIS IS SOMETHING YOU NEED TO DO IF YOU ARE VISITING THE VALLEY!! If you are looking for an activity everyone in the family can enjoy, this is it!! My wife does not drive, ever :) she is not into cars at all and she LOVED this. The performance driving school is a thrilling and educational program that allows virtually anyone to drive and experience high-performance, BRAND NEW M series BMWs in a safe environment. I met a group of managers that came out for a corporate outing....best idea ever! They even served us top notch, delicious lunch and after driving appetizers so no one left hungry (or thirsty bc there's plenty of coffee and refreshments readily available). All of the pictures I included showed the ACTUAL cars we drove all day. They allowed us to safely test the limits on some of the nicest, fastest BMW models available (**after a painless session of instructions from very skilled, professional drivers). The staff was all smiles and was incredibly kind and welcoming. They offer a great selection of other classes with differing vehicles too. We will be trying to organize a company outing here just as an excuse to come experience this again. Thank you again to everyone involved at this location. Great work!!

Fantastic experience: What a fantastic experience! Our main instructor was Excellent and helped us improve our confidence with pushing these cars in what they’re meant for. All BMW fans and motoring enthusiasts should do this course. Truly you earn more respect for the BMW brand and what the M moniker truly means. Our vehicles were the M2 competition, M4 competition, M550i and X5M. You get to drive each one a few laps and experience different vehicles ranging from coupes to SUVS. Then we do the timed auto cross which puts all that knowledge to the test. Finally you get put to shame by the instructors who are some freaking incredible drivers. Case Montgomery was so nonchalant about his incredible driving history till he made the first turn and he literally drifted the whole track with three other screaming adults in the car like a stroll in the park. Just phenomenal! Thank you!!!

Fantastic experience: One of the best experiences ever! I did the One day M School and it was a blast! The instructors are great and take the time to answer any questions but also love to have fun on the tracks and are able to crack jokes to us students. With this course you get to drive a M2 on a handling course, a M5 on the skid pad/drift pad, and a M4 on racetrack, along with ride-alongs with the instructors, including the "hot lap" at the end of the day which is insane! It was money well spent and such a fun experience; it is a jam packed day! They also include lunch. Big shout out to all the instructors and DeNae for helping me get this setup!

Fantastic experience: Brilliant fun! Got to drive an M2 Competition, M4, X5M and an M6. Final runs were in an M3 on a timed autocourse circuit. No limits on speed - just see how late you can brake! Instructor Brian was very good and encouraged everyone to go faster. Definitely recommend it - check out Groupon for great deals.

Fantastic experience: Great staff and amazing cars. The teaching is top notch and they allow you to push the limits of you and your car. They have M2,3,4 & M5 available to drive on multiple track setups. The rat race and polished skid pad really allow you to find and control the limits of the car. The road course is where it all comes together. With great coaching I was able to take the top podium spot on both events out if 18 drivers. A little bit of luck and practice helped. It is much easier to push the cars hard when they aren’t yours and someone else has to fix them! Cool schwag in the gift shop and a few items you can only get if you take a class. Pretty cool stuff. You should go!

It was a very safe environment, and it helped build our confidence throughout the day. Far more useful and applicable information than your typical DMV-based driving education. The weather was really nice.

Really took the time to breakdown each technique and encourage us to surpass our own limitations. Friendly staff in the facility. Other attendees were very nice and respectful.

Fantastic experience: Came out for an M track day and absolutely loved it! BMW was able to provide a well-rounded experience with autocross, drag, and circuit events. The instructors were very knowledgeable and patient. The exterior of the center is very nondescript and I actually almost passed by it. Once inside, you'll see that it is all BMW. I just wish that this wasn't 130 miles away from Los Angeles.

Positive experience: I drove out here to see the Performance Center but you couldn't see anything. There is a wall all the way around and the place was closed on a Saturday. I didn't expect it to be open and I had no appointment either, but I was hoping for some BMW logos and showing off that BMW has its performance center here. I wanted to take a picture of the place, but nothing really to take a picture off. No logos, no signs (except The Thermal Club). So I left empty handed. To bad and I drove all the way from LA.
