Joyners Driving Improvement School

Negative experience: My child has taken the behind the wheel course in October 2024 and has yet to recieve her license. The instructor has said multiple times that the paperwork will be sent out over and over. Now my child's paper copy of her license is now expired. Do better.

Fantastic experience: Queenie Joyner helped me to gain the skills and confidence I needed. She is super patient and encouraging! I passed my road skills test on the first try!

Fantastic experience: My Granddaughter took the learner's permit written exam and failed it 3 times. DMV said she needed to take the class for 3 times failed written exam. I signed her up with Joyners Driving School. She went to the class. When she went back to DMV she passed the exam and she received her learner's permit. She drove with me or her grandaddy in the car under our supervision with her learner's permit. When it was time for her to go back to DMV for the road test, SHE PASSED and got her licenses November 2024. Thanks to Joyner's Driving School here in Virginia Beach for the assistance in her getting the class instructions she needed to pass the written exam. She wouldn't have done it without them. She is now driving her first car, with car insurance. I thank God and Joyner's Driving School in Virginia Beach that we do not have to take her to work and pick her up. I advise all parents or grandparents with First Time Drivers to take classes at Joyners Driving School Classes first before letting them loose behind the wheel. Thank you Joyners Driving School. Fantastic experience: Let’s just say mr/ms Joyner are the besttttt. I started off with taking mr joyner 3 time failure class ( only failed once ) he make sure everyone is comfortable ( offers snacks & drinks ) & he made the class fun and not one of them boring classes that make u sleepy , i went to dmv next day and PASSED the written test , went home passed everything I learned on to a friend that was in the same situation and she went and passed the written test also. Then I took a online safety course ,then the 7day driving course with ms Joyner and she was so awesome, normally I be nervous to ride with someone in the car with me but she made me feel comfortable , she complimented my driving the whole 7 days and made me feel so comfortable. Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Fantastic experience: Great online traffic course! Great costumer when I called and had issues and a very timely response on helping me resolve it. I would recommend this to anyone going to court for a traffic ticket. The certificate does take 1-3 days to process so don’t wait until the night before. It does take about 8 hours so plan accordingly but you can pause it at any time and resume when need be.

Both of my sons have taken their behind the wheel driver's education with Coach Couther, and he did an outstanding job of making sure they felt comfortable on the road. He was also extremely flexible with their schedules; my oldest son took during swim season, and Coach Couther always worked around his practice schedule. I highly recommend Joyner's for anyone looking to take behind the wheel or work on improving their driving skills.

From the first phone call to the receptionist Ms. Vikki to the instructor Mrs. Joyner ,I am a first time driver, my instructor Mrs.Joyner was extremely helpful. She was patient and kind, when teaching me the skills I needed. She was alert and ready to stop the car if she needed to ALERT...., but with her instructions I was able to receive my drivers license. Negative experience: When I first walked in and sat down I thought I would learn for like 5 hours atleast but it was two hours. (10-12) I felt like I wasted my money because I thought they would go step by step and explain everything so I would understand so I can pass the test. It wasn't any one-on-one conversation. It was just rush through the book and answered like 10 questions and leave. I wish I could get a refund asap

Fantastic experience: So I had to take the driver improvement and my instructor was Wyndell (not sure if I spelled it right). At the beginning it was a drag we were all sleepy but by the time it was all said and done the entire class was participating. He even incorporated in a game to help us better understand the rules of the road and a movie to help understand why texting and driving is so dangerous! I’ll be recommending this school to anyone I know that needs it for improvement or for 3 failed attempts. Good job!

Positive experience: I was initially scared of driving. Not really being behind the wheel & having an accident a few years ago, I didn't give it an thoughts again; until recently. So I did the school online & set an appointment. That was the difficult part with the Coronavirus & the effects that brought to the world last March. Then Steve & I met & started my journey. My first day it was as if I got in & drove. Scary, & I was nervous & timided. My nerves calmed down & I was relaxing each day I was with Steve driving. On something's it was trial & error but only because of who I am. Steve would observe me & see things & tell me but my guard was up & I heard but didn't listen. However overall Steve is a good teacher/instructor & I would highly recommend him to anyone needing assistance/improvement.

He provided disinfectant wipes to wipe down our desks, hand sanitizer, Lysol, etc. He also provided the class with unlimited snacks & drinks... and even bought us lunch... wow! He was very welcoming & easy to talk to! Didn’t think an 8 hour class on a Saturday could be made fun... but he made it so much less painful than it could’ve been! Made things fun & engaging! He is a great guy and really loves what he does! I would recommend his class over anyone else’s!

I was a bit nervous at first when I first started out but the very first day I had met her she made all my nerves go away and we instantly clicked it felt like I knew her forever and she made me feel very comfortable and also made the driving lessons non nerve wrecking. I really appreciate her so much on teaching me how to drive and being that I was just as determine and she was really made me feel good and I knew instantly I had made the right decision on choosing this driving class and it was well worth spending the money and it was very reasonable. I had ended up getting my licenses and now I am officially a driver ! I highly recommend anyone to take this class this is the best one I have took in the 757 they will really work with you and I promise you will not be disappoint you will be amazed on how much progress you make within the couple of days of doing the lessons !

Instructor Steve gave real life advice and lessons while teaching all of us safe driving in the improver driving class. He made this class extremely fun as time flew by.
