Fantastic experience: A-1 Driving made what I thought would feel like an unendurable experience feel like a pleasant one. The instructor I had (Juan Mcdonald) made he classroom feel interactively informative versus it being a mandatory chore. For my personal reasons, I hope I'm not required to have to take one of these classes again but if I had to, A-1 Driving would be an option at the top of my list.

Fantastic experience: I enjoyed my driving training at A1 driving school.I had issues with the driving school I registered with early this year so I had to look for another school.I found A1 on google and I called the customer service number and they referred me to the snellville location where I met my instructor Ms Brown.She took time with me and put me through the areas I needed extra help with which is the parallel parking skill.She made sure I got the basic skills in this area and also the parking skill.I was able to understand how to handle the steering wheel,how to set the steering to enable me set the vehicle in a proper angle before making the turns in parallel parking skill..I understood the skills well while practicing with her and that made me pass the road test.I recommend this school and also Ms brown.She is a patient trainer,she will take you through the road and she let's you know what to look out for and all.Ms brown is good and with her help in training ,I passed the road test.I recommend Ms brown if you want to pass the test .

Negative experience: Would not recommend at all! This has been way more complicated than it should be and one of their drivers (Yolanda) should not be teaching at all. My daughter finished the online course and for the driving lessons, all we got was an email with login info to book the sessions. There are no instructions, just login info. We originally booked 6 hours of lessons with a Stone Mountain driver because none of the drivers for Snellville had any availability for all of Aug and Sept. Those 6 hours were all canceled because our pick-up address is in Snellville. I called and was told that is because the address had to match the instructor's location. Again, this could've been advised with some prior instructions. We rescheduled and on Day 1, the instructor, Yolanda, said my daughter couldn't wear Crocs, even though the instructor was in slides herself. Again, no instructions whatsoever on any requirements for the driving lessons. The instructor allowed her to continue with the Crocs using the heel strap, but she had an attitude from the minute she stepped out of the car. She seemed annoyed that she had to be there. My daughter finished those 2 hours but told us she was ready to cry because Yolanda kept yelling at her, telling her she was doing "terrible" and was on her phone the entire time. Yolanda was also speeding once she took over driving and using her phone while driving. Day 2 came and went with the same problems from Yolanda. I've read other reviews about this same instructor having the same aggressiveness with other students. I got an email saying Yolanda canceled our last 2 hour session that she already confirmed and accepted saying she is not available. So, we scheduled with a different driver. It took 2 extra weeks for that appointment because again, no one had open slots that weren't during school hours. The 2nd driver was over an hour late. He wasn't answering calls or texts. i called the school and just got transferred to voicemail. Finally the driver answered and had went to a completely different address. That driver was much better with my daughter and she said everything that Yolanda was yelling at her about, this 2nd driver had no problem with. Don't tell me to email you because, I emailed the school with my concerns about the first driver 3 weeks ago but still have yet to receive a response. My daughter finished all of her lessons last week and I had to call today just to get her certificate because she takes her test tomorrow. The website says they are open Mon-Sat, but they are actually closed on Mondays. So, now I guess we're waiting until the last minute to receive all of her certificates. This company is very unprofessional, unorganized, lacks all forms of proper communication, and has instructors who shouldn't be on the road themselves, much less teaching kids how to drive. Please actually look into this Yolanda person as she is a hazard. No one should be yelling at kids while they are behind the wheel of a vehicle.

Positive experience: Initial experience was bad with scheduling, communication Issues and inconsistent details, but they have a really nice supervisor that took good care of me and I appreciate her great customer service skills.

Fantastic experience: This class was very informative, it helped me to better understand what not to do and the steps I should take to ensure better driving decisions. Ms. Jessica Wesley was an excellent instructor and pray that she has many more opportunities to help others. It wasn't an exhausting class either. Thank you A1 and Ms. Wesley. God bless

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars I definitely would! Find another driving school or at least a different location. I paid $590 for the Joshua's Law Course and driving test for my daughter. She completed the virtual classes 2 weeks ago and I've been trying to get in contact with someone to schedule her driving test. I was told I needed to speak with "Carrie" because the website they gave me to schedule her kept stating that her info wasn't being found. Well Carrie is always either on the other line or unavailable. I have left her 4 VM's over the course of 2 weeks with 0 calls back. I finally just decided to go up there today (Tuesday 6/25), their website says they open at 10:30 so I arrived just after 11am and no one is here.

Fantastic experience: I had the privilege of learning from Ms. Brown at Snellville A-1 Driving School , and I can't thank her for her outstanding guidance from day one, her demonstrated professionalism, patience, and a genuine passion for teaching safe driving practices. Ms. Brown patiently explained the rules, etiquettes , and common mistakes to me. Her thorough approach helped me understand the nuances of driving, making me feel more confident behind the wheel. She provided a focused environment that boosted my confidence. Her teaching style was professional, cooperative, and effective. I wholeheartedly recommend Ms. Brown and A-1 Driving School at Snellville. They truly go above and beyond to create safe and skilled drivers.

Fantastic experience: Took My Road Test Today Passed Only Took 10-15 Mins Quick Parking Lesson In The Parking Lot Then A Few Turns On The Road And Boom Im A Licensed Driver

Negative experience: I do not recommend this place at all. If I can give this place 80 stars I would and I didn’t even get to do my driving lessons with them on July 22, 2023. I made an appointment for a six hour class plus road test and I have not heard anything back from this driving school. I made my way out there Tuesday, and July 26, 2023 at 11 AM and no one was in the office on both occasions the office has been closed at that location for a long time from what I was told from a previous customer of that establishment I reached out to their customer service department with no avail. No one has answered me and said anything to me about my refund or even my classes I do not recommend you go to any of these locations and I repeat any of these locations because I was also told by a customer, which is a very good customer for them that the drivers there quit and they do not want to work there so now the business is left closed so if you want to get a driving lesson I recommend finding somewhere else but not this driving location or any other at that matter I am still waiting for someone to contact me about my classes or my refund I spoke to someone from the customer service department this evening and they said that they will get it escalated to a supervisor but I don’t know how true that is so we will see what happens but once again, I do not recommend a one driving school at all for any driving needs for any teens, young adults or adults in general.

Fantastic experience: I took the Defensive Driving Class, it was hosted virtually via Zoom and it was a great experience. The instructor made everyone feel welcomed and no one was left out. I learned a lot and I'm glad I chose this company for the certification.

Fantastic experience: Without a question the absolute best driving school for any person wanting to be a responsible and safe driver!!! The Snellville staff here is undoubtedly the most professional, courteous and genuinely knowledgeable school in the state of Georgia. The school is fully accredited and provides instructors who are fully licensed and have insured, very user-friendly vehicles to drive with. They offer a variety of flexible timed programs and tools to set you on the right course. My instructors Lisa and Roderick were so incredibly helpful, patient, honest and respectful. They made me appreciate driving so very much and also how to be a responsible driver at the same time. I felt very safe and comfortable driving with both of them, and that they would direct me towards success. You can tell that this school really cares about their students getting the most beneficial experience and knowledge. Additionally, Cindy the office administrator has been a delight to work with as well. She is communicative, informative and very kind and helpful. I couldn’t have passed my driving exam without this school, the knowledge and confidence I obtained after taking the defensive drivers course and 30 hour drivers training and the individuals mentioned above. If youre truly wanting to become a safe and well rounded driver, I would highly suggest enrolling into this school and taking the program you need for successful future. Thank you so much A-1 Snellville. I am so very thankful.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience. My instructor, Lisa Brown was amazing. This school was in snellville Ga. After 3 lessons I took my road test with the same company and passed. I learned to parallel park, reverse parking, checking blind spots, etc. I highly recommend her as your driving instructor.

Positive experience: The course itself was easy to follow along and the criteria was well constructed but our instructor was unconventional. He was a nice person, just not the easiest to engage with.

Negative experience: I was told I will have my certificate the next day before 5 o’clock. So I set up to be at the DMV since they close at six and no certificate came before five. I would’ve went with the more expensive and other company if I knew it was going to be like this. First the teacher, Mr. Turner was not a great teacher I would expect better from a 35-year-old company and when I tried to call them no one answered after 430 and on their phone it says they closes at 5:30.

Positive experience: Everytime i try calling any of the locations the phone just rings. Is it really a business. Update:It’s a business and I’ve done business with them.

Very energetic and not boring or monotone at all. Did not feel like a boring lecture, was engaged and conversational and you’ll learn a thing or two. Go ahead an sign up - the experience will be great.

He also made sure that everyone would pass the test if you listened. I understand why no one has failed his class. I would recommend A-1 driving School to everyone looking to gain knowledge on defensive driving.

Fantastic experience: my driving instructor, verline mister, is the best. if i hadn’t took my lessons with her, i likely wouldn’t have passed my road test, which i got a 100 on thanks to her. also, while driving with her you have fun and she’s very nice. if you’re looking for a place to take drivers ed or just driving lessons i would definitely take them here. the joshua’s law part of the course took 4 days but the instructor made it fun and made it go by fast. 10/10 would recommended

Negative experience: Why is it y’all just opened and I’m calling multiple times and nobody’s answering the phone and it says y’all are open. No voicemail just hanging up after like 20 rings. I just paid $125 for lessons and I’m simply trying to schedule the lesson since it didn’t prompt me to schedule after paying.

Fantastic experience: They offered defensive driving online due to Covid and it was great quality. The class was helpful and informative- it really aids you in seeing your errors on the road and makes you think twice about the decisions you make. Mr. Oliver was funny and made the class interesting. I got my certificate online in perfect timing to reduce the points on my license. Thank you for your help A1. Also, the price is very reasonable.

Fantastic experience: I was dreading the class at first to be honest, but it was very informative and I learned a lot. Ms. Karen Loder was my instructor and she was very nice, knowledgeable and professional even though we had to do the class via video chat because of covid. I actually preferred it over the in classroom option. I will definitely use A1 driving school again if ever needed in the future.

Negative experience: On July 3rd I called the A-1 School of driving. I Inquired about their programs and ask about covid19 and driving time with their instructors. I was told that all of the instructors are available and once my child finishes the 30 hours online classes, I can immediately schedule his driving and it will be 6 hours driving with an instructor. Lady by the name Ellen called me a 2nd time and assured me that their program is fully in schedule and very nicely and pleasantly ask me to pay $450. At 6:30p I paid the money. Today as I was trying to reschedule the drive time today it seems like that the school did not have any drivers available for the rest of the year. I called the Snellville location and spoke with Ellen. I asked her regarding the drive schedule, and before I get to finish my sentence, she cut me off and replied in a very loud voice as she was screaming at me and said, our drivers schedule their time at their leisure, and she said to check the schedule 4 to 5 times every day to find a spot for my child’s in person lessons. She also said that most of her drivers are out due to COVID and the rest of her drivers are in vacation. She also indicated that most of her drivers are school bus drivers and with school starting, she does not know when any of her drivers will be available. When I originally called her, she did not explain any of this to me, and when I had specifically questioned her regarding the COVID, she had given me a miss guided answer. At the time of collecting the money she was a different person, and once she had the funds in, she was the rudest, and must unprofessional person I had ever encountered. I asked if I can have my $450 refunded, she told me to go read their refund policy on their website, and she wouldn’t tell me what their refund policy is. When I did read the policy it said that a refund can be issued within 48 hours, if there were no service provided. I indicated that I have not received any services yet, and she said, she doesn’t care, the request should been made within the 48hr. At the time that she collected the fee from me, she did not explain any of these policies. Please safe your money, time, and run around and send your child to New London driving school. I had send my older child there, and there was no issues like this.The level of unprofessionalism that I experienced today was like nothing I had ever experienced before. The other locations might be good, but please stay away from Snellville location. I would have not given them any stars, but in order to write a review you must select one star.

Fantastic experience: I wasn't looking forward to sitting in a defensive driving class for 6 hrs on a beautiful Saturday, but the time went by quickly and Instructor Al Turner was quite entertaining and comical. I actually learned some things I didn't know.

Negative experience: After more than one month not receiving my son’s certificate of completion, when I previously called and was rudely answered that it was emailed to provided email( which I repeatedly said was checked and still not received), today called again, explained same situation. Asked politely multiple times to be resent to my email, which was provided as well, since they ask you about two email address during online application process. She refused and told me to pick it up in the person. Not willing to hear that it was never received. Unprofessional, unfriendly and RUDE attitude.

Fantastic experience: My daughter was rally nervous about starting her drivers training. The driving instructor, Ms. Cutina Seagraves, was an EXCELLENT instructor. She was polite, engaging and very professional. She was very thorough, and made certain that all of the basic driving skills were covered. She covered several types of parking, merging, highway and interstate driving, merging, surface street driving, parking lot driving, and safety. She gave helpful and constructive feedback that helped to boost confidence. Thanks to her, my daughter scored a perfect score on her drivers test.

Ms. Parks has made this experience the most wonderful and pleasant to be apart of. The interaction with her students she has and overall kindness is stunning. She has truly inspired me beyond this classes expectation. Such an admirable lady I wish I was in her presence in my daily routine. She absolutely has the best preparation I would attend every class while she was teaching. Excellent class with an even better teacher

Negative experience: I signed up to do the Joshua law class about a month ago thinking that it would live up to its 4.9 stars. However, as the start date got closer it seemed more and more suspicious how we had gotten no emails, calls, texts, or any communication at all. To get some details we called them and they explained which of there two locations on the website to go to and some other details about the class. When we got there 15 minutes early there were no cars in the parking lot except for the drivers Ed car and the door was locked. We called them and they said someone would be at our class where we were in 5-10 minutes. At 9, when it was scheduled to start, there was still no one there. We called again and they put us on hold after we told them our situation. Then they said the class was actually cancelled and that everyone had been contacted already even though we didn't get a single call or email from them ever. And we even had to tell the person that we needed to be refunded. My advice, do New London Driving School.

Positive experience: Horrible course people take your money and will not let you in scam stay away. I spoke with owner and he apologize after I made him aware was made aware I was ignored outside in the rain for being 6 min late and left in the rain. I did the A1 course in Sandy Springs with a nice team we started 12 min late to wait for everyone wish snellville would do the same.

Negative experience: I paid for 6 hours of driver's education for my 16 year old at the Snellville location. Her first lesson was scheduled for Sunday, 9/16 @ 1pm. We received a call at 12:20 from instructor Allison stating that due to 2 people double booking for the same time our appointment was scheduled and we scheduled last, my daughter's appointment was cancelled. My 16 year old was waiting for this day and was excited. It was a major let down. I feel this was extremely unprofessional. I received appointment reminders all week long from A-1. If I had cancelled at last minute, I would have to had paid a fee. When I called Monday morning, the Snellville office was closed and the call transferred to Lawrenceville. I was told, "I have nothing to do with this". When transferred to Carrie, from Snellville, she went on to state she wasn't able to see what the driver was able to see. No one took responsibility for this issue. FYI: if you don't want your 16 year old disappointed and sitting on the curb waiting for her instructor, don't take your chance with A-1.

Fantastic experience: Had a 6-hr defensive driving course here, initially thought it would be pretty boring but in reality it was quite interesting. The instructor was very pleasant with her various life experiences on the road, and at the end of the day it was helpful to learn more about the laws of driving to apply to real life.

Fantastic experience: A-1 Driving School made learning fun again. The instructor was very informative and she was funny too. Some of the things i learned were actually very helpful. I learned so many things and was surprised of some of the traffic laws that are out there. If you have to take a defensive drive course for any reason, even if its just to be updated on the traffic laws, i would recommend using A-1 Driving school I had fun learning. Try it.

Fantastic experience: Ok... So, I was prepared for a boring class. But I was pleasantly surprised. We had an instructor named Ken Haley, who was very skilled in keeping the attention of the class. A lot of the information was elementary, however, he did not mind letting individuals in the class speak and say things that were helpful. I am glad that I finally went. Now I can get my insurance rates reduced. "Go A-1 it's your birthday ! Not foreal though just play-play!"

Fantastic experience: My experience at A-1 Driving school was great. My instructor Mr. Frank Fowler, was extremely informative on every subject covered. Mr. Fowler made it fun an interesting, in a class I thought I would dread. The experiences Mr. Fowler shared with us about safe driving, made we want to be a better driver, he offers real situations that stress the importance of safe driving. And his sense of humor, makes it ten times better. I really enjoyed my time here.

Fantastic experience: Going to this location was really great. Mr.Fowler made it educational but also really fun and entertaining. He explained everything in detail and shared his own personal experiences with us. I didn't expect to but I enjoyed the class and learned alot.

Fantastic experience: Overall, my experience was terrific at this location. In the morning, there was coffee and danishes laid out. Also, my instructor was informative and had all the answers to any of the questions we asked. My time here was all positive, there aren't any cons to this place.

Fantastic experience: It was amazing and I got a lot of information I'm not from Georgia so some of the stuff they went over was good for me to learn in to know about Georgia and the Driving Miss Parker my instructor was amazing is no such thing as falling asleep in her class because it's that live and she was patient with us and they served us coffee and little snacks to keep us woke so I really appreciate that all around amazing experience and very informative

Fantastic experience: Our instructor, Frank Fowler is a 10/10 dude. Gives great advice, tells the information at a calm pace, and loves what he does. Could ask for a better teacher, but they dont exist.

Fantastic experience: A great school. The teacher, Mr. Fowler, is experienced with defensive driving. He explains concepts clearly and is very respectful.

Having put it off, I've been dreading taking a 30-hour Driver's Ed course. However, thanks to my knowledgeable instructor -- Frank Fowler -- the experience was as painless as it could be, and I learned a lot in the process. If you are looking for a convenient, worthwhile driving school, I highly recommend A1.
