Communication could use improvement Summary: Long story short, I took two road tests with them and failed both of them. The first one was due to a careless mistake. On the day of my second road test, they informed me at the last minute that my pick up point was in Forest Hills even though I chose the Olive Garden restaurant in Elmhurst as my pick up point. I ended up taking my road test about 20 minutes late. I did much better on my second attempt, but I failed due to a fast and wide right turn. I will give a shout-out to Paul and Kei for being great teachers and for giving me more confidence behind the wheel. This school is definitely better than the first one I went to. However, I no longer see the point in traveling all the way from Astoria to Forest Hills for lessons.

Then I decided to try again and came across Action Driving school and straight away I knew it was the school I wanted. My instructor was very talented and she taught me things in a way which I didn't have to overthink it, it just became easy and she was very supportive and amazing overall. So glad I had this experience- passed the first time! Very highly recommend- they are professional and listen to you.

Fantastic experience: Action driving school is an amazing place to learn how to drive Lenny is very quick and prompt, and will be calling you 10 minutes after you order a service from the website, he makes sure to get everything done in a timely fashion. My 5 hour class was done within 4 days of signing up at the school and I had my first road test 1.5 months after starting, with some prior experience outside of driving school. I unfortunately failed my first road test, which is very common, so I ordered another class and the car for the road test. Lenny was once again quick with setting things up, and I had my lesson and road test again within two weeks of the first road test, and this time I passed. Instructors Elvis and Irina are both extremely helpful and very knowledgeable of what it takes to be a safe driver and were jovial as well, which is extremely important for someone that is already anxious off the road. Their clear instructions and tips boosted my confidence in my abilities and led me to success. I explained to my instructor Irina what went wrong on my first road test and she was very patient and supportive in making sure I was able to pick up the skill and master it. Everyone at the driving school is super kind and will look out for you, they don’t put you through a wringer and give you a one size fits all sort of lesson, they work around you and your schedule to make sure the lessons are not stressful in any form. My one complaint would be the switching of cars throughout lessons, which kind of made it difficult to remember how to drive each one, however this is likely because of how accommodating they were to my schedule, which were on different days of the week and different times. Overall I’d HIGHLY recommend Action Driving School if you would like to become a licensed driver.

Fantastic experience: I only rented a car here for my Road Test. As for the car, it will be a Toyota Corolla (looks like the E170 generation). The steering wheel is easy to control, everything is in order, after 5 minutes it’s as if I’ve been driving it all my life. And I would especially like to praise the auto instructor. Paul showed himself as a professional. He gave me some really good adviceы before the test and gave me time to get used to the car. Well, in the end, a he is a pleasant conversationalist while you wait your turn for the Road Test! If I didn't know how to drive, I would ask him for driving lessons. I passed the test the first time. Recommend!

I found Action on google and recently had the pleasure of enrolling in a last minute sessions, which ended in many sessions. The support I've received from the team was outstanding. Irina and Paul were both amazing. But the real highlight of my experience was the remarkable teaching skills of Paul. I can confidenlty say Paul is an amazing teacher. He demonstrated remarkable "patience" lol (IUKUK)not once did he loose his composure, which created a comfortable environment and atmosphere for me. What sets Actions driving school apart from others is their commitment to seeing this students succeed. I witness this personally when Irina drove me to the site and a student did not pass. She was genuinely disappointed not by the student but the reason for failure by the inspector. I was genuinely impressed by their noble and kind nature, which foster a sense of support. They are an amazing team and I highly recommend based on my experience. You won't know until you try. Paul's teaching, Irina's support, and the team work all around have left a great mark.

Fantastic experience: I passed my driver’s test, and could not have done it without the help of Paul. He is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and always maintains a positive attitude, to boot. Paul not only teaches to the test, but more importantly, also teaches you to drive. He’ll run you through real-world scenarios (switching lanes, checking mirrors, some expressway driving depending on your location) that make the test itself seem like cake. I never felt nervous behind the wheel—not even on test day. After failing my first try with another school, I cannot recommend enough Paul as a driving instructor.

He gave immediate feedback and direction while maintaining a calm/positive attitude for the entire lesson, which allowed me to remain calm and hop on the highway for the first time. He helped me with my specific problems, even spending the extra minutes with me the areas and streets of my choice where I’d need to drive in order to get my to the pediatrician and to school. he is an overall great teacher. His investment in teaching and the quality of he lesson come through. High quality teacher. This establishment is lucky to have him on staff and I highly recommend requesting him for a lesson.

Fantastic experience: My experience with Action Driving School have been great! It was very easy to schedule/change my appointments, they have a nice system in place. The 5Hour pre-licensing class with Leonard was interactive and well done. And I had the best instructor here, Paul. He is amaizing, gave me so much precious advice all the time, and explain as well the reason for rules making everything much easier to follow. I have passed my exam with him from first try and probably if I wasnt nervous during it, I would have gotten '0' points. I was well prepared for the exam. Thank you Action Driving School! Fantastic experience: I had a good experience with the school. Initial instructor assigned to me didn’t meet my expectations and was a big dent to my confidence. He made the experience very stressful. However I was immediately offered the switch and told that the school has pursued a remedial action of parting ways with initial instructor though I would have liked refund for that sunk class. I learned with many instructors at this driving school but endorse Paul Nickles the most. He is thorough, detailed and teaches in close alignment with the grading rubric. You will be in great shape to pass the test if you take instruction with him. Best of luck!

Fantastic experience: I started taking classes with Lenny around May, and I can honestly say it is a great learning experience especially considering I had almost no time behind the wheel prior to starting. I had the package that included 9 courses, rental for the road test, and the 5 hour course. Although Lenny wasn’t my instructor he was of great help when dealing with rescheduling and other issues you may come across. Paul was my instructor and I can say this right now, count yourself lucky if he’s teaching you. He genuinely wants to help his students and see them succeed. As long as you are open to Criticism and willing to put 100% in learning with him than you will 100% pass first try like I did. You will learn exactly what you need in order to pass the road tests with this school as long as you take any and all advice and you are willing to listen to what errors your making. 10/10 Great experience, the joy of knocking out this test first try was all thanks to this school!!!

Fantastic experience: Scheduled 9 lessons, car for appointment, and the five hour class easily. Clear communication across the both of you. If you ever want to reschedule a lesson, you can also call and chose a later date if needed. I drove with Lenny and he was by far the best driving instructor I had. Unlike other driving schools, he pays attention to his students and actually gives feedback on how to pass/tips for the driving test. I would definitely recommend coming here for your driving needs.

I am coming from not knowing my potential for driving and these driving instructors put you in the drivers seat and teach you the skill. I have to thank Elvis and Lenny and another instructor who's name I did not get. Having gone through the complete experience from 5 hour class to taking the road test with Action driving school, I would recommend this driving school to anyone who wants to learn how to drive and don't mind taking the drivers seat from the first lesson. I also thank Cathy, who was very helpful in rescheduling me the first time and fitting me in at some points.

Negative experience: They took my money quick enough but when it came to scheduling my lessons their secretary totally ignored me. I had to go physically to beg for classes everytime I was there. She never responded to any phone calls and only 1 email. DO NOT USE
