Safety Zone Driving School

Negative experience: Don’t go through them. When i failed my driving test, she told me its because i don’t pay attention (when how could that be if i knew the guy flew through a stop sign instead of stopping and cut me off??) and then told me I was full of excuses and i need to own up to my actions. then the whole way home, kept mocking me by going “see how i knew to stop? it’s cause im paying attention”. I absolutely hated her and her business, and fully regret ever going through them.

Fantastic experience: The online portion has been amazing great teachers (Ms Andrea and Mr Young) and a fun class and I would recommend to other new drivers.

Negative experience: Critical: Absent, rude, not working, and definitely needs readjustment. Pays her bills during class instead of teaching us, is consistently late to her own class, went shopping while we were in class actually too. If you want a teacher with the energy of an over enthusiastic English teacher, lets you retake tests until you pass (when you're not supposed to), get away with no cameras on, and even worse just have you do all the bookwork and just watch the videos instead of ACTUALLY DOING HER JOB of going through the power point like she's supposed to......then sure I'd recommend this place. I already reported her behavior to the DMV so HOPEFULLY this place either gets shut down or Miss V gets replaced as she also is TERRIBLE at answering texts and will even lash out at you for just asking questions. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL. Me and numerous other students are all in agreeance of how unprofessional she is. She also rambles a lot. Look I came for drivers ed not to be run through a course where the teacher talks more about her life story than the actual course content.

Fantastic experience: Ms. V and her team did a great job with my child, they got her ready for the road & she passed her driver's test on the 1st try!

Fantastic experience: I love that the classes are virtual and Ms. V makes it's fun and interactive. She will let you know all the information you need, some that's in the book, and some that's not. I feel a lot more confident going to get my permit and driving after taking her class.

My dad told me he signed up for the class because he knew that the teacher will match the way I like to learn. It very fun in class better then my classes that I took online in 2020. So definitely sign up cause you will enjoy it

Fantastic experience: I took my 2 week long driving school class with Ms V from February 6th to February 17th. I’ve definitely learned a lot and know so much than I did prior to going into this thanks to Ms V. She is without a doubt one of the most informative and fun teachers I’ve ever had, she keeps things simple and understandable while making it fun. Some things to note that I learned are: when parking on hills, turn your wheels either facing the curb or away from the curb depending on your direction to use as a natural backdrop. Another thing is weave lanes, I never even heard of such thing but now I’m well aware of what they are and what their purpose is.

Fantastic experience: This place is hard to beat. I Did the brc2 today and it was a blast. I highly recommend this class to anyone. As a former Mx racer of 5years who hasn’t been on a bike in 10 years until today I was a bit nervous. They made everything comfortable, informative, and just plain fun. By the end of the day they made it feel like I never stopped riding and I’m thankful for that. They are by the book but also patient with the students, they understand we are there to learn. My only complaint is that there aren’t more places like this out there. Definitely TOP NOTCH!

Fantastic experience: I took the three wheel riding course this week with Ms. V and I absolutely loved it!! She is an awesome instructor with a positive attitude and great teaching strategies. I took my first solo ride by myself on the road last night and totally enjoyed it because of the confidence my training gave me!! Thank you, Ms. V.

Fantastic experience: The BRC1 course was probably one of the top 5 fun things I've ever done. Ms. V is an amazing coach. You will go into the class nervous and leave confident. You will be amazed at what you can do on a motorcycle after taking this course and being coached by Ms. V. You will not be bored in her class and you will enjoy every minute. TAKE THIS COURSE!!!!

Fantastic experience: My son and I had a great time taking our motorcycle class. Vanessa’s energy was awesome!! If you can’t take constructive criticism and work on bettering your skills then don’t come. The staffs purpose is to teach you how to ride safe and with confidence. Keep an open mind and trust the lessons. I’ve been riding dirtbikes for years and Vanessa had to retrain my “moto-cross mentality” So glad we chose this facility!!

Fantastic experience: I have really low confidence and can be pretty shy and so classes scare me and makes learning hard for me but this class was definitely not what I expected I really enjoyed this class. Ms. V is an amazing teacher and super fun which helps keep her students awake and not all bored and sleepy. Some might find her strict but it's less of that and more of she dosen't deal with disruptions. The class was $350 and so any disruptions that would've held the class back and wasted my time and money would've really upset me but with her no nonsense tolerance attitude, distractions were kept to a minimum and I passed through her class. I definitely recommend the class all you gotta do is follow rules, take notes, participate, and you'll do great.

Fantastic experience: When Ms. Vanessa first opened her driving school in 2016, my oldest daughter was one of the students in her very first class. She was GREAT then and even GREATER now! My middle daughter does sports and was never going to make any of her classes due to her practice and games. I explained my daughter's situation to Ms. Vanessa and she was very understanding. She was so understanding that she created a Virtual Class that would allow my daughter to attend the two week Driving School after her practice. I am very grateful for what Ms. Vanessa did! This really proved that she would go above and beyond to help people. I will end my review by saying, Ms. Vanessa is a GREAT Instructor!

Fantastic experience: Overall a great experience! The atmosphere upon arrival was definitely met with good energy and had God at the center of it all. Registration and pre-course information about what was needed was thoroughly explained. Vanessa was GREAT. She will ensure the success and safety of all riders. You definitely need to listen because Vanessa is direct but all for your well being. A beautiful statement that she made is that "fail here so that you dont have to fail on the road". That made feel comfortable to make mistakes while in a safe to learn. WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS COURSE TO OTHERS.

Fantastic experience: Would say this is a Christian based business utilizing faith to promote success. Vanessa was amazing anyone who states otherwise probably didn't appreciate or understand her stern approach. Scheduling was a breeze. Communication was great. She followed up with emails and texts and even corresponded after class completion. The overall class was super informative and I learned alot. I appreciated her demonstrations as she made riding look like a breeze. Itvwas my first time starting a bike but I now feel confident and there is no uncertainty. While a newbie I learned the importance of safety and will continue to learn best practices as stated in class. Additional to the class is an ecourse which takes 3 hours but is super informative. Only thing I didn't like/understand was having to pay 5 dollars when we checked in. I believe it was for the ecourse but I assumed once you paid and registered for the class all would be covered. Overall great people and a great class.

Positive experience: I went here for a one-day motorcycle license class. The woman I spoke to was friendly and got me in relatively quick considering everybody else was booked up until October. Once I got there the high hopes I had turned sour. The instructor while good was a bit hard for me to understand and on top of that we had to set up the entire course if that's what you can even call it. The course is in the back of a janky parking lot and you couldn't see hardly any of the lines making it extremely difficult to see the direction of the course. For the money I thought things would be much better to be honest. Overall I guess I'm satisfied I got my license that day and it accomplished a goal I set out. Not wanting to knock the place just wanting to share my honest opinion

Fantastic experience: Vanessa Jones is one of the most professional, direct, and down to earth instructor I have ever met. She’s an excellent instructor, knows her materials and has an abundance of experience in motorcycles and 3 wheel BRCs. I strongly recommend anyone to attend the training at Safety Zone located in Lexington Park, Maryland. They are squared away and will give you the best quality training session you can afford. Negative experience: I can not speak for all of the instructor but the 3 wheel training instructor Vanessa is RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. She speak to adults as if they are children. Vanessa just wants your MONEY and her attitude is terrible. So if you go to take the 3 wheel class be prepared to deal with her attitude. I bump into some people who has taken the class or work with her & everyone said how nasty she is to people. Its really unfortunate because the class is fun, it's just her. I prefer to spend my money with the white people. Honestly I wouldn't be surprise if someone goes upside her head. The only good thing is she not going to fail anyone, because when you buy a bike through her guys,she receive more money & plus it makes her look like she doing a great job.

Fantastic experience: Ms Vanessa was awesome with my teenage daughter. My daughter can at times be hard to handle as most teenagers but Ms Vanessa whipped her in shape. I'm proud to say that my daughter now has her driver license and passed both the written and driving test the first time with the instruction of Ms. Vanessa and all the other staff at safety zone.

Fantastic experience: Ms.V is one of the best instructors I've ever come into contact with. My girlfriends and I decided to take a 3 Wheeler class and ended up at Safety Zone. We drove 2 plus hours to get there and we're so greatful we did. We learned so much from her class. Not only motorcycle knowledge but life lessons. Ones that you don't think of when you're out there on the road.

Fantastic experience: Ms. V is the queen we all need. When classes are 3 hours a night, you need someone who can make you laugh and teach at the same time. Every night was a hilarious adventure and I’m so glad I enrolled in Saftey Zone.

Negative experience: The instructer was very difficult to talk to. She consistety talked down to me, belittled me, even talked about my weight a few times. It was miserable the whole 8 hours i was there when i trying to qualify for my licence. 10/10 felt emotionally drained and beaten down by the end of the day. (Reply; when someone is in position of authority you cant expect anyone to speak up agaisnt them. Many people, such as me, did not want to be treated differently (worse) or possibly flunked because of this. This goes for anyone whos in a position of power. Also youre very dissmisive on how i was treated along with someone else who posted about a similar issue. You do not seem to care and come off as condescending.

Fantastic experience: My daughter and I had a great experience with Safety Zone! Ms. Vanessa was awesome to work with and teaches the kids how to be safe behind the wheel. I highly recommend this driving school to anyone in the Southern Maryland area.

Fantastic experience: BRC Class A lot better than I expected. Ms. Jones is a fun instructor. From the get-go she started cracking jokes, in a great mood for a Sat at 7:30 am. She wants to make sure you have fun during the process while being safe. One thing I cannot stress enough and neither will she is to trust the process. YOU NEED TO TRUST THE PROCESS AND LISTEN. She is not going to tell you to do something that will put you in harms way. If you mess up, just listen to how she tells you to correct those mistakes. The hardest part is finding your friction zone and clutch control, once you do that, the rest gets easier. I found the exercises to get easier as we progressed but it all comes down to clutch control and look where you are going and where you want to go. Most of the time, I made things harder on myself by overthinking things but if you do, she will notice and will tell you to TRUST THE PROCESS. The exercises are lot easier than what they seem once you stop overthinking things I drove 1:30hr each way and by the end, it was worth it. Some people had some issues in my class but it honestly came down to not trusting the process and listening what Ms. Jones was saying. However, with that being said, she keeps an open line of communication. I see myself going back once I get enough experience for their Advance classes. -Brenedy

Fantastic experience: I had such an amazing time learning with Ms. V at Safety Zone. She is a very loving and hardworking teacher who pushes her students to be not only good drivers, but good people. Her integrity is unmatched and she truly has a heart of gold. I was so nervous to start drivers ed but Ms. V at Safety Zone gave me courage to drive and know that I have so much more control than I first realized. I highly recommend to everyone I know!

Fantastic experience: Just completed Can Am training for my Can Am Ryker . The instructor, Ms. Vanessa Jones, was encouraging, empowering and a wealth of knowledge and inspiration. She got me out my head and into my ride. She is professional and extremely personable. She has easily become that lil voice in my head ensure I make safe and immediate choices. I strongly encourage anyone considering a driving lessons in MD to make your way to Lexington Park! She teaches driving for cars, bikes, trikes (Can Am) and she is MDot official so you are going to be golden at MVA!

I decided to drive two and a half hours to attend this school because I really wanted to experience riding and this school made room for me. I had a positive experience both days, but I would like to point out that Vanessa is so passionate about what she does that she will go above and beyond to make sure with no doubt that you are truly ready for the road and not just allow you to float through the class just to get a license. I definitely recommend Safety Zone Motorcycle Riding School to everyone who is serious about wanting to learn the correct way how to ride a motorcycle safely!

Fantastic experience: Wow, I would highly recommend taking Ms.Vanessa class. I wouldn’t recommend if your going to be disrespectful tho, she ain’t the one. She’ll shut down that down real quick, and you’ll miss the opportunity to have a wonderful and informative teacher. The class is only for 2 weeks but she really tries to get to know all her students personally and call all her students her “babies”. The way she teach, theirs literally no way you can’t pass unless you wasn’t paying attention AT ALL. Have a hard time remembering? She’s would repeat herself several times voluntarily in order to make sure you got it. Have a short attention span? Ms. V is highly involved and will joke around with all her students, never a boring class. You’re not just paying to take her class, but you’re also would be paying for someone to teach with a positive and good attitude (which is rare) throughout the whole class. Ms. Renaee was also a wonderful teacher and highly friendly. She motivated and encouraged success along with the importance of safety every time she taught, which was a eye opener. She engraved that safety is in the details and everything must be taken in consideration.
