Fantastic experience: We hired East Bay Driving School to help our au pair get up to speed, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the entire experience. From the start, they provided a highly personalized, hands-on approach, even leveraging an instructor who was able to communicate seamlessly with our au pair, making her feel comfortable and supported. The instructors were patient and thorough, taking our au pair through lessons at her pace, and we loved the technology that allowed us to easily track her progress through report cards and book lessons online. It was fantastic to be able to request the same instructor throughout the process, ensuring continuity and confidence. What truly set them apart was the founder’s personal involvement— from text, emails to calls she stayed communicative to ensure everything fit with our needs. The team even took our au pair out for a practice session on the day of her driving test, which helped ease her nerves. She passed both the written and driving portions, despite hearing from others that it often took multiple attempts for au pairs to pass. The entire process was customized to our needs, from responsiveness to the thoroughness of feedback and their willingness to accommodate. I couldn’t be happier with the results, and I’m looking forward to using them when our children begin learning to drive. Highly recommend East Bay Driving School!

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend East Bay driving school! I had a one time lesson a day before my test and passed on the first try! Sherri, the owner, was very kind and accommodating and was able to squeeze me in last minute. Coach Pete was such a great teacher! I had had lessons with other instructors, but Coach Pete’s learning style by far was the most digestible for me. He explained everything in a clear manner. He answered any questions I had and also gave me really easy to understand advice and instructions. I was not a 100% confident before our lesson, but his lesson really aided in helping me feel more confident. I had such a great experience and could not recommend the school enough!

Our daughter had Richard and Jeff as her driving instructors. They are both patient and kind and most importantly super knowledgeable. Jeff did a great job in preparing our teen for her Behind The Wheel Test. She passed the test on her first attempt. Fantastic experience: TLDR: I had a 2-hour lesson with Kevin today. He was a great instructor, and I would recommend him to anyone considering taking lessons for the first time. Now for the full review. For context, this was my first time driving. I had earlier booked a driving lesson through another company, where the car didn’t even start. The instructor was about to ask me to directly start driving on the road, despite no prior experience. He gave vague instructions on how to set my mirrors and other basics. In contrast, Kevin first directed us to an empty parking lot so that I could safely get a feel for driving. He provided clear explanations on all my questions, and remarked on the best practices when driving. We slowly transitioned to driving on the road (which made me realize how disastrous the previous instructor’s method could have been). Overall, the lesson had a clear structure and approach, ensuring that I could advance at my own pace while safely practicing the fundamentals. Additionally, the East Bay Driving School was very accommodating in scheduling a lesson for me on very short notice. I would highly recommend this company and coach Kevin to anyone considering taking driving lessons.

Fantastic experience: 41 year old wife finally needed to get her license for work. Only having driven sparingly overseas I wanted a school that would be flexible in their curriculum to accommodate her needs. She had 2 different instructors in the 3 lessons she took and both were wonderful! She passed her DMV test with no issues! Great communication, great patience, extremely responsive to inquiries and concerns - even when I texted on Christmas Day! Unmatched dedication. Highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: We had a good experience with East Bay Driving School. My teen had some lessons with another school previously and unfortunately they didn't really prepare them well enough for their behind the wheel test. However, we did 3 lessons and the test experience with East Bay and everything went well. All instructors were kind, patient and explained what would be required on the test. Because my teen could drive well, they took them out for some freeway experience, which was great. Test day was a success. A special shout out to Kevin who really is a great and kind instructor. Would recommend to anyone looking for solid test prep and safe driving for their teen.

Fantastic experience: My son is a student of East Bay driving school and he has had two different instructors with excellent experiences with both Instructors. They come to your home pick up your child, you can schedule online and get a report card on your students driving very quickly after the session. Communication is very easy and every time I’ve needed to speak to somebody at the office they answer right away. Highly recommend East bay driving school.

I was so scared to drive even I was scared to sit in passengers seat and had extreme anxiety to drive. All the instructors Abraham, Richard, Jeff were so patient, super friendly, cleared all of my doubts and they are very good people who will work with you and explain how to make improvements in you driving with being very patient , kind and compassionate which helped me lot to calm my nerves and get rid of my driving anxiety. Fantastic experience: My son was not very enthusiastic about getting behind the wheel, especially after his experience with another driving school last summer. We decided to sign him up for a refresher course with East Bay Driving School when we signed our daughter up for her first lessons. What a difference this company made! After 3 lessons, he went off to take his behind-the-wheels test with instructor Jeff…and came home a licensed driver! Woo-hoo! Fantastic experience: I had a particularly difficult time learning with other instructors when I was in my teens and never built up the courage to take the test. However, learning with Richard was extremely rewarding because I ended up getting my license within a few classes (4)! I have anxiety which acts up when I am overwhelmed especially when it comes to driving but my instructor was patient and was willing to push me without overstepping my boundaries. This service is worth the investment.

We booked his Behind the Wheel test on a day he could be there. Sheri was responsive to the few emails I needed to send and that was a pleasant plus. Fantastic experience: Hands down the best driving school in the bay! On the day of my exam, I was extremely nervous but my amazing instructor Dongpei gave me some pointers and told me what I needed to improve on. We did a mock test and went around couple times. Told me what I need to improve on. Dongpei was really friendly and we had a nice chat while waiting for the instructor. I can’t recommend him enough! Highly recommend East Bay Driving School. Definitely ask for Dongpei! Honestly can’t pass my behind the wheels the first try without his pointers!

The scheduling system for East Bay driving school is great as well. It is very easy to use and you can check availability of instructors in real time. Fantastic experience: Amazing customer experience here from start to finish! Daughter needed a last minute refresher before her driving test. East Bay quickly responded with a confirmed appointment within minutes of my inquiry! Our assigned instructor, Amir arrived on time and confidently knew exactly what to do in helping my daughter. Amir and my daughter practiced the exact test route for about an hour before escorting her directly to the DMV (Stoneridge) to check her in and prepare her for the test. As he expected she passed her test on the first try with flying colors. Besides being a super nice guy, my daughter repeatedly told me what a fantastic instructor Amir was and how much he better prepared her for the test. The sincere support and encouragement Amir provided my daughter was beyond expectations and truly boosted her confidence that she would pass. I highly recommend this school and especially Amir.

Fantastic experience: It took me 10 years to finally get over my fear of driving and get my license. I took 3 driving class at East bay driving school. It was easy communication with Shery . She was always available and made the process and taking dmv appointment quickly. My two classes with Instructor Richard. He made sure I am not afraid of driving or being on road. My third class was with instructor Jeff . He made sure that I am aware of the rules and stay out of lane confusion. Both of them were amazing instructors and I don’t think I would have ever got my driver license if it wasn’t because of these two instructors. I am glad I took these classes. It’s worth of every penny that I paid and finally I cleared my driving test at ease. I highly recommend East Bay driving school and schedule any class by instructor Richard and Jeff.

Fantastic experience: Coach Pete is amazing!! My daughter received training in a different school and failed driving test twice before we came to East Bay School. She needed training, guidance and emotional support. Coach Pete polished her skills and said what she needed to hear to revive her confidence!! He let us, both parents, stay in the car during lesson… Of coarse I couldn’t keep my mouth shut , later husband joined me.How much patience it took to teach 3 students at the same time? Coach Pete agreed to give lesson hours before leaving on vacation.. While being on vacation he texted 4-5 times to check on us yesterday and today, on the day of the test…. Pete was the first person I shared the good news with, when daughter passed her test ….

Fantastic experience: I contacted East Bay Driving School for the 6 hours driving lessons that my 17 years old needed and surely they didn’t disappoint. Sheri was very courteous and patience going over their driving lessons program. She followed up after each of my daughter’s driving lessons with a text. Pete was my daughter’s driving instructor and he is very knowledgeable, patience and explain all the safety measures of how to be a good driver to my daughter. My daughter enjoyed all the lessons she had with East Bay Driving School. I highly recommend them and will be going back to them for my second daughter’s driving lessons when she gets her Learner’s Permit.

Fantastic experience: Pete N is best coach. I liked the he way he supported in the entire process of my driving session and Behind the wheel test. It was because of his positive attitude and uplifting, I was able to clear the test in my third and final attempt. I drive safe but failed twice due to few technicalities in behind the wheel test which DMV is very particular about. Pete helped me to learn and apply those consistently. Fantastic experience: Sheri was incredibly responsive. Great communication. Online scheduling was very easy. We loved that this school provides 3 2hr sessions as opposed to 6 1hr sessions. Fantastic experience: My 17 year old daughter needed lessons to activate her driving permit and we were lucky enough to have found Eastbay driving school. They are really great to work with! Their instructors are awesome, and their customer service was just as wonderful as we needed to make payment and class schedules. I would recommend them to all our friends! As of June 2, my daughter just passed her driving test this morning with ZERO errors! I can’t believe it. Devon is just the best instructor. Parents - while we think we know all the latest DMV rules and best practices, I honestly don’t. If we love our children and want them to be safe on the road, please, have a professional school like Eastbay teach them. I signed up my daughter for 6 additional classes as I want her to learn the proper way to drive. Devon is one of their best instructors.

My daughter had Abraham as an instructor. He is an outstanding teacher and a definite asset to the school. He always arrived early and with a smile, and was very patient. You could tell he loves to teach and enjoys helping students achieve their goal of becoming a safe driver. My daughter passed her driving test on the first try. Thank you East Bay Driving School!

Fantastic experience: I've had a decade plus of experience driving in Australia but had to take a driving test to get my Californian driver's license. Jeff and East Bay Driving School took away 95% of the complexity of setting up the DMV drive test (insurance, booking, ...) and an hour with Jeff before the test was perfect for getting acquainted with the vehicle and revising a few specifics for the CA DMV drive test. Passed easily!

Fantastic experience: My daughter passed her driving test just this morning after completing the Six Hour + DMV Driving Exam package of instruction. The customer service was friendly, informative and helpful, and their instructors do a great job and were always reliably on time for appointments. Their Drive Scout app makes it easy to book lessons and get feedback from instructors after lessons. My daughter has mild special needs and they were willing and able to accommodate our concerns. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I had the most amazing experience with East Bay Driving School. I had Coach Abraham for my first 2 lessons, Coach Pete for my 3rd lesson, and Coach Jeff for my driving test. Everyone was extremely punctual and I felt comfortable driving and at ease with all of them. I felt more confident after each lesson, and my dad felt confident too with the progress repots they provided. I passed my driving test on the first attempt and feel ready to finally drive by myself!
