Negative experience: This placed robbed of my money , I never attended anything after I paid because I was admitted to inpatient rehab and they refused to to give me refund after taking so long to even get me in class, then when I tried to attend class I was turned around. I would not recommend this place at all are they going to do is Rob u of ur money and turn u around.

Negative experience: We had a terrible experience with this company. They promised to send the certificate of completion for the class our son completed and did not send it for days after multiple calls and emails asking for the document. finally, one hour before our appointment with the DMV they finally sent the document after we threatened to sue them.

Fantastic experience: I definitely enjoyed taking this class. The instructor was knowledgeable, personable and entertaining. I have already mentioned it to multiple family members and friends so that they can get some points off their licenses and hopefully reduce their insurance rates as well. It's always nice to have an updated review on the things we learned so long ago! Thank you A-1!

Fantastic experience: A-1 driving school in Athens Georgia is great! I took a defensive driving course here and the instructor was very patient and helpful! Plenty of breaks and provided and the class is made fun so it goes by quickly! I got my certificate 2 days after taking the exam, and would recommend to anyone looking for a driving school!!

Everyone there was helpful, nice and eager to help me out! I want to thank all the ppl that work for A-1Driving School! Mrs. Jan the instructor was so helpful and nice. I would absolutely recommend this company to ANYONE that may need A-1Driving School! Thanks a bunch you guys!

Negative experience: Not even a 1, scam nobody reached out to me or anything. Even when I reported the issue nobody did. Awful.

Fantastic experience: My daughter had her road skills test at the Athens location with Mr. Cash. He was awesome! Mr. Cash walked us through the process and was a joy to work with. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: I signed up for classes for my grandaughter in May of 2023. I chose A-1 because they were offering the class at her school. I did not read the BBB reviews. I paid $490. for the course. I have tried contacting them by phone and email many times. They never returned my calls. It is now July. I would like a refund for the services that they did not provide. How they can stay in business is a mystery to me.

Negative experience: Have called this office 6 times now, sent to voicemail every time they haven’t called back. If you have a deadline, do not use this company. They are not dependable. Chances are if you want to get a hold of then you’re gonna have to drive to the physical building

Negative experience: I took a class from 9:30-4:30 and it kicked me out at 3:00 for 30 sec due to Wi-Fi and I wasn’t allowed back in the class I spent 6 hours of my day for them to just tell me I need to re-take it all.

Negative experience: Absolute waste of money and a nightmare to deal with. They have you log into a website to schedule driving instruction and it shows the available time slots. Then they call and say those times aren't actually available. My daughter learned absolutely nothing and all she got out of the experience was getting on the highway for the first time. When it came time to schedule the driving test there was no way to do it on the website and I had to dig for the phone number and get passed around. The lady on the phone had an attitude and only offered a few morning times and no afternoon options. So I lost out on that money since I paid for the test already and we now have to go to DDS anyway. Highly recommend taking your child somewhere else.

Negative experience: This place is a waste of your time do not book a class here. 100% Not dependable if you have deadlines I guess they have staffing issues according to the person I spoke with. General Manager was swift to reach out out to me and process a refund though. If only I could be refunded my time. But he also asked me to delete my review of this instance which confirms my suspicions that a lot of their reviews are fake.

Negative experience: I was told my camera wasn’t working and when I tried to rejoin class I was told I need to reschedule! They were rude and unprofessional. If you are going to do online classes learn how to create success for the people using your system!

Fantastic experience: I recommend anyone who has to take defensive driving class or any other class to take it with A-1 Driving they are very professional and very respectful I learned a lot from it and the teacher was excellent with explaining everything to us.

Fantastic experience: The defensive driving course was very informational. And the instructor was very knowledgeable and kept my attention the whole time. The personal stories was a nice touch. All and all 5 star. Mr. Albert had a lot of great history about vehicles and the information behind it. I learned a lot from him!

Fantastic experience: We've used the services of A-1 Driving with both our teenagers, and the time and money are so worthwhile! David Cash is an excellent instructor whose patience and time spent with our children saved us a lot of stress! Scheduling lessons is easy and convenient, the feedback and guidance are clear, and we as parents were able to reinforce the driving skills in practice afterwards. A-1 ensures students are trained in accordance with the current laws and driving exam requirements. As parents, that's reassuring to know that we aren't relying on "how we were taught" as the instructional standard. A-1 is a trustworthy and helpful service to know your children are more than adequately prepared as new drivers.

Fantastic experience: The defensive driving class was very informative. Ms. Tarvar was very lively in her delivery of the information that was given to us, along with a few tips that I found helpful. I would reccomend this school to everyone that is looking to clear up some cobwebs on their knowledge of the driving rules.

Fantastic experience: Mr. Hensley was a great teacher. He taught me more about how the high risks choices I make can really have a negative effect on my future. He really opened my eyes to how someone could get addicted to something when they don’t even notice it. Great teacher overall.

I would 10/10 recommended taking the actual driving course with a teacher with this driving school over the online course. You get more experience and a better understanding of the material.

Negative experience: My grandson went to this driving school and he said it was a joke. Frank Fowler was totally unprepared to teach driving and he reported a background of getting speeding tickets and many accidents. Apparently he's been divorced twice and talked about his problems with family life, specifically raising children. He has a monotone voice which puts his students to sleep. Most of them played games and listened to music and such instead of listening to Mr. Fowler. This school is way to expensive to have lousy teachers such as this and they need to employ teachers who can really TEACH about the subject they're hired to teach - driving. Apparently the last class will be spent reviewing the driving test that the school gives, but that's not up-to-date, so who knows if it'll be beneficial for the actual test they'll have to take for their license. I have no idea if this review will be posted, as it appears there's mostly great reviews online, but if it is posted, I'd suggest you look elsewhere to spend your hard earned money!!! Too bad I couldn't give a negative star...

Fantastic experience: I got more out of the defensive driving class than I thought possible. Mrs. Jessmer was a great instructor. She was very personable, easy to talk to and approach with questions. She added information about the slides that were relevant to the class and the students taking it. I highly recommend this class and A1 Driving school. The only thing I wasn't too keen on is the lack of parking space. It's very limited, so arrive early. Definite job well done.

Fantastic experience: I took a driver's education course with Nancy Jessmer at A1 in Athens. Overall, it was a great experience. The instructor was straight to the point and really easy to understand. We did not waste much time and covered applicable topics for defensive driving today. I would definitely recommend this course to a friend.

Positive experience: My experience was somewhat unpleasant due to the instructor who spent most of the class talking about football, women, politics and cell phones. We did learn some good things at the end, hence the 3 stars.

Fantastic experience: This Defensive Driving class is definitely worth it all in all. I had a strong feeling that it was going to be boring and useless because a 6 hour class on a Saturday morning does not sound fun at all. However they teach the material and topics in an interesting way including personal stories from both the students and the instructor. I learned things there that still stick with me days and weeks after the class has ended. Nancy did a great job instructing us to be better drivers on the road and provided us with adequate breaks to help us stay focused and get through the day. Thank you Nancy and A-1 Driving; I highly recommend everyone to go here as needed.

Fantastic experience: This class is definitely worth it. I was worried it was going to be boring because a 6 hour class on a Saturday shouldn’t be fun. However Nancy teaches it material in an interesting way with personal stories. I learned a few things while there. There are a good amount of breaks so you don’t feel trapped in a room.

Negative experience: PISS POOR EXPERINCE LIARS. Do not use them very unreliable. How do you cancel a class and not say anything just wait for the children to show up. Then refuse to refund the money

Fantastic experience: Days later and my son is still talking about some of the topics discussed in class. The class was very informative and was taught using multiple methods (lecture, videos, class discussion, etc.). I would definitely recommend A-1 Driving School.

Fantastic experience: I went there for reinstating my license and and the class did not disappoint! We were offered many breaks and even an hour for lunch. The people answered all my questions and made sure my certificate got to me in the fastest, easiest way possible.

Would recommend A-1 Driving School to anyone who wants a refresher of road safety and how to respond appropriately to a dangerous situation while driving. Fantastic experience: Whether you are registering for the Driver's Ed or the DUI school I have one simple suggestion for you: make absolutely sure your instructor is Mr. Frank Fowler. Mr. Fowler made a necessary evil much less painful than it could have been by being humorous, honest, and sincere in his desire to make sure that NONE of us ever returned because of drugs or alcohol. The facility was clean, Judy was helpful and a pro at getting me registered, and overall A1 in Athens is A-1 for a dang good reason. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. Thanks, A1!

Positive experience: Mr. Fouler was a pretty good teacher, but sometimes he would get himself down rabbit trails with which I couldn't find a relationship to the topic at hand; however, the class was informative, simple to understand, and the rabbit trails never droned on too long. Mr. Fouler made preparing for that test a breeze!

Fantastic experience: I was dubious at first because driver's education has a reputation of being notoriously dry and dull; however, my teacher here, Mr. Frank Fowler, made the experience enriching and actually fun. I can't say enough about Mr. Fowler. He is not only ridiculously qualified, but he is also someone who genuinely loves teaching driver's education. His credentials are second to none, and his knowledge of driving is expansive. He's also really down-to-earth and I really felt like he cared about us and teaching us in order to make us safe, good drivers. I learned a ton from him and will implement his teachings into my own driving. If you're near Athens and you're getting your driver's education from someone other than Mr. Frank Fowler, you're seriously missing out!
