Independent Driving School

Negative experience: First of all, I was hoping to obtain a road test appointment here because they claim to provide vehicles for the test, and the location is next to a bus stop. However, after repeatedly calling and texting them (many times leaving voicemails), they still haven't gotten back to me to schedule an appointment. The only option to contact them is through a phone number and calling and texting only that phone number. There is no way to email them, or even register for a test through a form on their website. Secondly, all other driving schools charge around $50 for a scheduled in-advance road test. At Independent Driving, they charge $70 and claim that you're saving $10 from their "original" $80 fee. The price isn't worth the months that are wasted trying to schedule an appointment, even though they provide a vehicle for the test. If you're hoping to obtain your driver's license in less than a couple of months, do not attempt to schedule a road test appointment here. If you really do want to take a road test here, no matter what requirements you still have to complete, schedule an appointment as soon as you obtain your learner's permit.

Fantastic experience: Jackie is probably the best teacher or person I’ve met he’s blunt and to the point but instructional on how and why he says things. He can be hard to understand sometimes but he makes up for that with his jokes which aren’t the funniest but they definitely make you laugh

Negative experience: They never respond and are very rude. Don’t waste your money

Fantastic experience: Jackie was great with me. He’s direct and blunt, but also very kind and respectful, which is exactly what every kind of driving student needs. Even after taking my lessons in April, the core principles he taught me were still apparent during my test. I would definitely recommend this driving school, more specifically him. Even the driving school i took my driving test with said he was great. Awesome dude.

Fantastic experience: The personal here is very kind, they make you feel comfortable during the driving test and all the time. They also have Spanish speakers so it was helpful for me

Negative experience: They’re only open 3pm -6pm. I called couple of times but no one was answering during their office hours or before that. However, I received a text message from them, so I asked my questions, no reply. A month later, I texted them again about my questions, they replied 3 days later. I then sent my registration for the driving course but still no response/further instruction 9 days later. Communication is worst. Not gonna recommend since nothing happened.

Fantastic experience: The lady my daughter tested with was so kind and bent over backwards to make her comfortable and not nervous. She assured that they would've go on really busy streets but in neighborhoods. Since the testing place is near State Street in Orem, that was very relieving. She was nervous at first, but she came back confident and smiling.

The instructor was very polite and professional, and as soon as my daughter passed, they gave her the paperwork so we could be on our way. Definitely recommended!

They informed us that if we had chosen them for our school experience and drive time, that they pick up and drop off!! Wow what a service! That would have been amazing! Fantastic experience: I applied to this school to take a road test as it is close to my house and I don't have to wait 3-4 weeks for my Apointment like in DLD. You can sign up for 2-3 days in advance and for the evening after work. The test took less than 30 minutes. My instructor was polite and calm. Recommended if you don't want to wait.
