Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at A to Z Driving School this week. I needed information on obtaining a Driver’s License immediately! I called and was given the information needed to make that happen! I attended the 6 hour class, where I was given tests and shown videos on safe driving. I was impressed with the knowledge of the instructor. I received my certificate for the class, and was able to get my permit from DPS! I can now take the road test, get my license, and become a safe Texas drive! Thanks A to Z.

Both of my children have attended this driving school and left there with exceptional driving skills. Ms Erica does a wonderful job educating the kids on all the things they need to know to be successful. She checks on all her students once they leave the school and also congratulates them on their life accomplishments. Coach Mercer is very patient and treats every student like his own child….if you are not sending your children to A to Z driving school you are missing out on a great driving school experience.

Fantastic experience: Enrolled my teen at A to Z to relieve the anxiety of learning to drive. The staff here are always very polite, patient and informative. My teen is confident behind the wheel and I owe that to the drive time and instructional time with Coach Mercer and staff. Money well spent.

Negative experience: DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!!! EDIT: The response is hilarious. The name on here is Flinstone Fred after Fred Flinstone from THE Flinstones. All lies. They’re so quick to try to gaslight someone. Now Erica just wrote a condescending reply about a student that isn’t even me.. that response wasn’t factual. Now fellow commenters, do you see what I’m talking about? You write a review calling them out and ERICA will try to search their database for your name. CRAZY & MISERABLE Coach Ken is an amazing, man. Truly a stand up guy, but his daughter Erica will be the downfall of this man’s business. Erica is a rude, nasty spirited person all around. She often is the one that answers phone calls/works at the front desk. Thus, if you see a black lady with 10x zoomed lens on, or hear a lady with an attitude answer the business phone, hang up or walk away immediately! She’s literally so rude for no reason which is crazy! She loves to use the fact that her dad owns the company, so she exerts her power to get her way which is sick. She loves to argue and try to charge you ridiculous fees for no reason. She tried to make me pay an extra $250 AFTER I paid the full $385: CRAZY WORK! That lady is so ignorant and stubborn for no damn reason, Coach Ken will tell you the same thing. He says it all the time! Which is why I still don’t understand why he has her working front and center for his business. She is a TERRIBLE LOOK on behalf of A to Z. If A to Z was ran without Erica, I promise I would’ve gave this 5 stars. I could’ve gave an extra star for Coach Ken BUT in a way he’s compliant because he knows about her behavior yet does nothing about it. The positive reviews you see here is because of Erica. She will tell your child to leave a good review on Google, watch them type it out, and refuse to let them leave until it is finish. SO DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT YOU MAY SEE!!! I could go on and on about how Erica made my time hell at A to Z. (Former student) it’s definitely not worth it to put your kids through this. Erica tries her best to shut you down. It’s like she’s jealous of young people for whatever reason; she tries to find a problem with anything you do. What’s crazy is that she’s a mother herself. Would she want anyone treating her kid the way she treats A to Z students? HELL NO! She will ruin your kid’s experience with learning how to drive, getting their permit, earning a license, so please just send them elsewhere. Coach Ken does his best but all Erica does is walk all over his hard work. For Erica because I know you will read this, SEEK HELP. MENTAL, PHYSICAL, AND SPIRITUAL HELP. You do your best to find problems with anything which is a reflection of how miserable you are. Your attitude for no reason is a reflection of how miserable you are. The way you treat others is a reflection of how miserable you are. Etc. You are not cute which makes these problems worse, cut that sh%t out immediately! For Coach Ken, as I mentioned before you were an amazing teacher. Please do your future students and business a favor by removing Erica. I understand that’s your daughter and you want to put your family on, but she is harming your business. 99% of negative reviews mention Erica and her ungodly, awful attitude. She does not know how to treat or interact with people which is a terrible business trait to have. She has absolutely zero customer service skills and clearly doesn’t know much about running businesses. It may costs more to hire someone that isn’t family, but you definitely need to try to incorporate that into your budgeting because she will be A to Z’s downfall. Keep up your good work though, you’re a great coach! All in all, if you finish reading this review and still choose to send your kid here, Coach Ken is awesome. Erica is not. Hopefully you will have as little interaction with her as possible, but that is a quite rare possibility. If you have any problems with anything try to go directly to Coach because she will just make things worse and piss you off. The end.

Negative experience: I recently had the unfortunate experience of enrolling my son in A-to-Z Driving School, and I must say it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. From the very beginning, their unprofessionalism, rudeness, and dishonesty were evident and left a lasting negative impression. First and foremost, the staff at A-to-Z displayed a complete lack of professionalism. They were consistently rude and had a nasty attitude towards the parents when asking about drive time. Their lack of respect and patience was shocking, making the environment extremely unpleasant. Furthermore, the level of dishonesty exhibited by the owner/instructors was truly disheartening. They made promises they couldn't keep, misleading us with false guarantees of success. It was clear that their main concern was making money rather than providing quality instruction and guidance. Despite paying a significant amount of money for their services, I found myself constantly questioning the legitimacy of the information provided. The instructors seemed more interested in money. This approach not only hindered the learning process but also jeopardized the safety of the students. I must stress that every negative review you come across about A-to-Z Driving School is true. Unfortunately, my experience aligns perfectly with the numerous complaints and warnings shared by others. It's deeply disappointing to see a business operate with such disregard for its customers' well-being and satisfaction. Positive experience: I'm giving 3 stars because of COACH and for the help he did for my 19 year old daughter. When I first brought her, I explained she was newly diagnosed with Autism level 1. He said he has worked with autistic kids before and he did work with her and got her driving better than I expected! If I could leave a separate ZERO star for Ms. Erica, I would. She is rude, crass, insensitive, and unprofessional. She is his daughter so I'm sure she isn't going anywhere, but wow. She got angry at my daughter for not bringing her mask for her driving lesson and would not provide one from their office (yes we know they had some). She said she could not drive so my elderly MOM drove to bring her a disposable mask (this is in July 2023 btw). My daughter was very flustered and upset. Emotions she should NOT have to be put through from her driving school. We only stayed and didn't complain so she could finish up her courses with Coach. Ms. Erica needs to take some sensitivity courses or maybe retire or something. She is a very unpleasant person. I will NOT recommend due to her.

She was very nice, and the coach was so sweet, nice, and also accommodated my brother. The owner is a very honest person, and will find the way to help students get what they need. Negative experience: literally all the negative reviews are complaining about the daughter( erica) and my review is no exception. from what i’ve gathered in the reviews and responses from this place, which are clearly from erica, she abuses her power by searching the parents names to see which student they belong to and that just shouldn’t be happening. she also just threaten to not reschedule my sister for a class bc i called to place a complaint about the way she was talking to her. she falsely accused me of “threatening her” and called me a child. Even when erica replies back to paying customers in these reviews, she’s so defensive and clearly doesn’t take too kind to criticism. but there’s too many negative reviews about you for you to think you’re not the problem. you should actually take these reviews into account and work on yourself. which i don’t think will happen due to nepotism, bc at the end of the day it’s her father’s business and the customer service skills she clearly lacks will just be ignored. because had she been hired anywhere else she would’ve been fired.

Negative experience: How do I start this has to be the WORST driving school in Houston . Let me explain i have talked to several students . NOBODY knew what the man was saying most of the time honestly a true waste of money $350 dollars it might be cheap but honestly do it online or with someone else Coach ken super sweet gives a lot of life lessons really gets off topic He talked about how he got a car with cash (Mercedes by the way )how he lives in a good neighborhood . He is a millionaire or at least that’s what he said The person answering the phone is super defensive and really rude to be honest You finish the in person lessons right (not understanding half of most of what he is saying ) Then they make you sign a contract saying you have 6 months to login in your drive time Okay you have to schedule it yourself There is NEVER SLOTS AVAILABLE It’s truly a scam so you spend another $200 dls doing what ?? reenrolling they are truly dishonest and i would not recommend this to anyone please read previous reviews about this place don’t be fooled !!!!!!! I had to pay the re enrollment for my kid so no you won’t find my name in the system Ericka we know you love to say!!!

Allowing his daughter Erica to handle calls and different aspects of the business is very troublesome. She is not kind hearted, rude, and very unprofessional. If it wasn’t for me having to complete the course with the school due to DPS regulations I would have left and took the lost. Please reconsider, I am not one to leave a negative review but my experience was one that no one should have to undergo either. Response: It does not amaze me in the manner of your response and clearly shows your character and unprofessionalism Ms. Erica. I never once was rude or any type of misconduct was given to staff as stated by you. I never even was given the opportunity by you to deal with the staff other than yourself as you didn’t even allow me to discuss any issues with the owner Coach Ken. All your allegations are untrue and you never attempted to help but ask for more money and over book drive time giving no one the opportunity to be successful in the program. As stated before and I will continue to, my experience was horrible and unprofessional, as I see the most recent reviews are of the teenage students attending the classes giving out 5 stars.

Fantastic experience: My experience here was amazing. I came in distraught about how I needed to get my license and coach was so understanding and worked with me to make sure I got drive times scheduled. Every single driving session was informative, he was patient. encouraging and extremely knowledgeable about the road. Not only did I get my license, but I gained enough knowledge to make me a confident teen driver. I went into my driving test today scared and nervous but coach made sure I was confident and I passed (thank god). I'm glad I chose this driving school and I encourage anyone looking for a driving instructor that is patient, yet stern and knowledgeable enough to teach you, to come to A-Z.

Fantastic experience: Thank God for Ms Erica and her dad. Ms Erica tried to help me to get into the program aldo it was full sometime last year. She was so nice when we talk on the phone . She showed so much respect as she carefully listened to what I had to say. She then tried to help me the best way she could . I am here through my company now and her dad is the best driving instructor there is!! Apart from being a man of God. He helps you to build your confidence!! I am so glad that I got the opportunity to go to that driving school. It came highly recommended by alot of my friends and I too can also recommend them anytime anywhere . Negative experience: Secretary (coach's daughter) was extremely rude, and it was terrible experience going here. She's very difficult to deal with, her attitude is terrible and it's honestly not worth your money. Cannot convey how bad my experience was in this review but please find somewhere else to go it's so not worth it. An upside is that the coach is a wonderful person and he's very professional. Driving is nice, it's just the classroom portion that sucked a lot.

Negative experience: My cousin and I enrolled our girls into this school during the summer. Since our girls has completed the in course classes the scheduling of drive time is the worst. I have contacted the school and spoke with who is suppose to be the administrator and she is very rude. We were told that to schedule drive time it will post at 7pm on Friday's. Well on Friday surprise not an available date. I checked this morning on a random and now the drive time classes are filled until October. This is very unprofessional and not fair. My daughter still has 5 more to complete and it is impossible to schedule. I was told they have two years to finish the drive time if I wanted to wait two years I would have not paid my money for a school who is not concerned about the completion but the money. No professionalism at all and nobody ever reached out to solve the issue. If I could give a zero star I would. My daughter name is Shamiya Wattley I am her mother I am not the student of course you will not find me as an enrolled student. Yes my review is deemed correct. I would also like to add the head of administration Erica is very unprofessional as well. This is a family owned and not professional. I contacted them again about the remaining drive time for my daughter and was told I would need to pay an additional $200 for my child to complete her drive time. Nope I will not pay more money. It is all about the money for this school I do not recommend you enroll here. Scheduling drive time is a complete mess.

Positive experience: I hate to give this review because the owner (Coach) is so sweet and nice. However his daughter (Erica) has bad customer service skills. I have two children who has attended this school and just requesting assistance is hard. My suggestion is to allow a professional to handle the calls coming in from the customers to help with the inquiries.

Fantastic experience: AtoZ Driving school is a wonderful place to learn how to drive. It is very friendly and family oriented ,and they are very understanding people. Coach made sure I understood the correct and efficient way to drive. There is no doubt in my mind that is an amazing driving school to go to. I would recommend this school to everyone no matter how old or young you are!

Fantastic experience: This is very friendly, family oriented location. Mr Mercer is strict but really strives to make sure the students know what they need. My son and the students calls him coach and that’s pretty much how he is with his students a coach, a mentor. I also found his daughter Erica Mercer to be very helpful in ensuring my sons met his hours. I live in Spring but I would refer them to anyone in the North Houston Area as I feel confident that my son is now a well rounded, knowledgeable driver.

Fantastic experience: Ms. Erica & Coach are absolutely AMAZING! They taught us real life situations & the best way to be safe on the road. I really recommend this driving school you will definitely learn and most of all you will definitely keep in mind the safety of yourself and others!

Fantastic experience: This is the best student driving school ever!! Ms. Mercer and her team were extremely professional and easy to work with. My son plays sports and the drive time system was a lifesaver for us!! We were able to schedule his time according to our hectic schedules. It was awesome. I will recommend this school to anyone. My only son is my pride and joy and they took great care of him. 5 star service!! Keep up the amazing work!!

Negative experience: I came in on Monday 07/23/2018 only to see if they do road test or not. Stood there for a good 5 minute looking at young teens get spoken to rudely by a older man and women (I'm guessing the owner and his daughter) One girl speaking to the women looked like she wanted to cry so badly. Bless her soul for holding it in..... After the women finish speaking to her I stepped up and said "Hi good afternoon" mind you she has these big sunglasses that look like FLY eyes so no eye contract what so ever her heads down all into her phone. Yells at me " I told you to check your calendar!" I said "excuse me?" Her- "oh what do you need." told her what I needed. The Older Man and women looked at me like if I was asking for a thousand of dollars or something? I highly DO NOT recommend this place to nobody. DO NOT waste your time nor MONEY to these RUDE people!!! Oh yea Btw No they do NOT do road test, they're not Licensed for that.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this place because they deliver a high caliber driving curriculum to us and the work environment is laid back and not stressful. Being in the car is even more rewarding because you dont feel uncomfortable and they guide you throw all the essential steps of the driving process. I never really had any driving experience before this and now im even more confident in the car.
