With over 12 locations across the Denver Metro area, DriveSafe is the largest, and only AAA approved Driving School in the State of Colorado. While our locations’ office hours vary, we do offer scheduled drive lessons and license tests 7 days a week, with driving lessons ending as late as 9pm.

Negative experience: The lady in the back is so rude and disrespectful. I wish I could’ve gotten her name, she’s the one in charge. Avoid this place by all means. The driver school on 120th and Washington will get you in right away for less money and no appointment needed and no discrimination!!

Positive experience: Driving instructors were all great. Helpful customer service on the phone. Only complaint is the office manager at the Westminster location. She’s really loud and unprofessional. Talking about an employees break schedule while he was trying to assist us. Speaking so loudly on the phone that no one else in the office could speak. Get some manners please.
Fantastic experience: Jake the driving instructor was great with our son who is on an autistic scale. He was patient and really explained driving to him. Thank you and our son passed and this worried momma was ecstatic.

Fantastic experience: They were professional and respectful and it was such an easy process. We went to a driving school to do the driving test closer to us initially but when we showed up for our appointment, the lady made us wait 4 hours and was rude. DriveSafe was a much better experience and my son felt much more at ease and less anxious. Thank you, DriveSafe!

Fantastic experience: While I was in a rush I walked in and Jen and Eric were insanely helpful and were able to get me a driving test on the same day
Negative experience: Pagué para tomar una clase y examen . Resulta que cuando llegué, es para hacer el examen sin tomar ningún tipo de clase ni práctica. Así que reprobé y seguido de eso, me dicen que vuelva a pagar el examen que son 99$ ?? Es una escuela y no te dan ningún tipo de información acerca de la práctica. Lo de ellos es cobrar y cobrar .
Negative experience: I never cared about doing Google reviews because things happen for different reasons, but this could not be let go. First off, the staff is very rude. When the lobby is busy, they allow you to sit in the classroom waiting for your appointment time. I don't know if they forget you're in there or what, but the way they talk about customers and their students, or adults even, and how they conduct their driving tests is very disrespectful. If you make a mistake, they laugh about it and compare you to themselves, as if they are superior because they teach driving. Second, the driving test itself. The tester was very rude and short with his explanations. No idea if he was just having a bad day or not, but based off the reviews, I'm seeing a trend. Bottom line, DO NOT bring your students here. As an adult, DO NOT come here. If you make a mistake, you'll be the laughing stock of the office. Save your time, and your money (they are overpriced) and go somewhere else. Save your student being a laughing stock as well, I created this account so my daughters name wasn't laughed at later on by the staff members. You truly have to wonder what kind of people DriveSafe is hiring.
Fantastic experience: Alto profesionalismo, los recomiendo 100%
Negative experience: The tester had bad attitude or maybe in a bad mood. He failed my son's driving tests with 1 point difference in a very picky and high standard way and only able to explain 14 points out of the 21 points. I called them for the details and a copy and so my son can check and improve on real issues, but they told me that they can't share the test results for the client. Are they afraid of their lies on the results and so wouldn't let the driver to double check? They just want to keep failing you to keep charging you?

The license test standards are set forth by the state of Colorado, and our drive testers are certified by the state to observe and report to those standards. The license test evaluates over 100 items that measure a driver’s skill and knowledge of legal and safe driving practices, which even seasoned drivers can often overlook. We recognize that no one likes to fail, but the state has designed the test to help students understand how to drive more safely, and our drive testers cannot legally pass a student if they do not abide by safe driving practices. Unfortunately, due to steering errors, repeated missed searches -such as failing to check blind spots, not scanning intersections for cross traffic, or neglecting to check mirrors- traffic impediments, and inappropriate speeds during lane changes, your son has demonstrated multiple unsafe driving behaviors. By law, we cannot pass a student who violates these safety requirements. Our interest is aligned with students passing but, even more so, with everyone's safety on the road. We encourage your son to review the CO Driver's Handbook on laws and regulations, and on page 1, you’ll find what skills and abilities the license test covers. Fantastic experience: This is the office I took my daughter to for an EDAP class as well as lessons and the drive test. Great experience and the classes helped my daughter greatly. My son is currently using the online 30 hr course and it is working well for him.
Negative experience: I took a driver's license test here and the atmosphere and staff were very unfriendly. When I first walked in, they were all talking amongst themselves and no one greeted me for about three minutes. My tester was very serious, unfriendly, unkind, negative, and overall made me feel more nervous and tense than I already was. He was a jerk. I could tell he thought little of me from the start. I failed the test, but that's not why I'm upset. I took a test at DriveSafe Boulder and my tester there was very nice, positive, and friendly, making me feel more comfortable in the car. I am very easily anxious, and I think anyone would be nervous taking a driver's test. I also swear to god I'm not a bad driver, they are very picky these days. A lot of the mistakes I made were because I was nervous. Anyways, I absolutely do not recommend this place.

Please be assured that our instructors respect all students, and we understand that testing can be a very nerve-wracking process, as is driving in general. Our goal is never to make it more intimidating. The license test standards are set by the state of Colorado, and our drive testers are certified by the state to observe and report according to these standards. Your test included three traffic law violations—speeding, an incomplete stop at a red light, and turning into the wrong lane—which unfortunately result in an automatic failure, as they demonstrate unsafe driving behavior. More practice can help build confidence. Part of at-home training can help to expose drivers to a variety of scenarios on the road to help them to still make safe decisions under pressure. Fantastic experience: Very nice and positive Atmosphere I didn’t feel nervous to take the test and I would recommend this place to come take your test
Negative experience: I went to the DriveSafe Driving Schools website last night to schedule my teens drive test. There was an option to pay, and because this is different than how I obtained my license years ago, I submitted payment for his drive test. I was expecting to be able to schedule his test myself online since I had just submitted payment, however, after my payment was submitted a screen came up instructing me to call their number to schedule the drive test at my convenience. Keep in mind, that nowhere on this company’s website is there any information or mention of No Refunds if you cancel. Seeing that they have a location close to where I live, I tried to schedule at that location this morning only to be told that the earliest date to test there was November 22nd, and that the Arvada location and Wheat Ridge location were experiencing staffing issues. I was encouraged instead to schedule up in Westminster at 120th and Huron and was told they have a lot more availability. I went ahead and scheduled my teen for a drive test for afterschool on Halloween. My teen found another testing location through another company that is closer to us and asked me to contact them to see if they had anything open prior to Halloween. Well, they did. I called DriveSafe Driving Schools and informed the gentleman that I spoke with that I wanted to cancel the drive test for Halloween, and I then inquired about obtaining a refund. He informed me that the person I spoke to when scheduling the test should have informed me that they do not give refunds, but that the credit is good for up to 2 years in the event my teen fails and needs to re-test. That’s an ironic statement to make. However, after reading the reviews on this location it is no longer that ironic. My advice to any parent or guardian looking to schedule their teen for a drive test, call first, and ask about their refund policy. Life happens, things come up and a company that is so rigid and lacks flexibility and understanding isn’t a company you want to give your business or hard-earned money to. I would advise that you call around other schools and unless you are desperate, stay far away form DriveSafe Driving Schools – Westminster location. There are a lot of other schools in the metro area. Again, only go here if you are desperate. Since my teens drive test was scheduled for this location and your people didn’t inform me of your “No Refund” policy that is conveniently NOT listed on your website, therefore your dishonest business practices have earned your organization this review. Fantastic experience: Today, I was in an absolute, dire situation. My DMV appt. to take my permit test was at 3:45pm. I passed and was told I had today only to take my drive test with a Driving School. The DMV told me to go to American Driving School up the street. On the way, I called and they would not take me, they took appointments only. In a panic, I looked online and seen DriveSafe Driving School about a mile away. I literally ran there as fast as I could. When I got there, the woman at the first desk was very welcoming. She understood my situation and quickly processed me for my drive test. She was extremely helpful and nice. A woman named Jen quickly said she would take me out to test. Jen was also very nice and understanding. Jen did everything she could to accommodate me. After my test, had 15 mins to get back to the DMV, she took me back in their vehicle to ensure that I made it on time. These ladies were complete life savers. They were courteous, professional, kind, and beyond helpful. The experience I had there was one I will never forget, honestly. I am so grateful. I caught a break in life, coming to them. We need more people in the world like these ladies. I highly recommend coming to this DriversSafe Driving School in Westminster over the other one, hands down. Thank you ladies, so much.

Fantastic experience: Drive safe was amazing! Setting up appointments on line was the hard part so just call, but other then that the staff was incredibly nice! Jake my driving instructor was kind and easy to understand. 10/10 would do it all again

Fantastic experience: I’m so happy I chose DriveSafe! This school helped me become confident and less afraid of the road in just 6 hours of driving with an instructor. The instructors were very friendly and helpful, and I learned a lot of important information from them. I also passed the driving test with their guidance, and overall, it was a great experience! Negative experience: Over priced, the manager acts kind to get sales and they don't treat people from different countries fairly. Do not trust this school to do any of your business. It is a waste of your time and money.

Fantastic experience: I just got my liscence from here. I drove with the manager Jen, she is an extremely nice person. She fit me in for a drive test at the perfect time for me and my family. This is a very professional driving school, and I am really impressed. Thank you very much ma'am.

Fantastic experience: I recently took a refresher course with DriveSafe Westminster and found it very helpful! As an adult driver needing a CO license despite years of experience, I benefited greatly from the course. The instructor provided clear explanations and was very friendly throughout the sessions. I learned a lot and felt more confident in my driving skills. Overall, it was a positive experience and worth the money spent. My husband was pleased with the outcome as well! Negative experience: Beware of their revenue generating tactics. We had no expectation of our new driver passing the first time around from previous feedback and reviews. Be ready to spend money on a lesson prior to the drive test or after you they fail you. They will get their money from you one way or another. Stay away if you prefer and honest assessment.

Fantastic experience: Eric was an amazing instructor, he helped me calm down whenever i encountered a difficulty. He was reassuring and i was able to continue safely with his help.

Fantastic experience: We brought my brother here as a last resort. We gave him another chance to get this done and he was able to pass his tests after failing several times at other places. Fantastic experience: Took my little brother here for his driver's education. We opted for the, "Driving Plus," the online drivers ed, six hours with an instructor, and the drivers test. Highly recommend Jen as an instructor as she gave me recommendations on skills to practice in between lessons with my little brother after each lesson.
Fantastic experience: I had a 1hr lesson with Eric Phan, I was feeling nervous with driving in general but through his lesson I now feel very comfortable for my future driving test, he brought me up to speed with many situations and I am now not worried and confident in driving.

Negative experience: Worst driving school ever. I watsed 200$ on this. Seems like its impossible for a new student to pass without paying for there lessons. I will ensure none of my friends will take test here . Only thing they constantly care, take test again and pay 65$. Intsead you should detail these are the mistakes you did. I would have appreciated if they had told me I am bad at certain things and take time and correct these mistakes and take test. They made me retake twice and failed me for different reasons. If they had told me and explained me all reasons well enough, I would pass. Atleast give proper reference for rules they following? Apparently online YouTube videos to pass driving are wrong. Then describe your test methodology you follow. Simply failing someone giving different reasons every time is waste of time and money. If I fix my issue and you fail me again for something different, am I supposed keep paying you so you explain new violation or mistakes I did I take test? They just want to make you pay and take next appointment. Please don't go here .

The license test evaluates over 100 items that measure a driver’s skill and knowledge of legal and safe driving practices, that even seasoned drivers can overlook. During your first test you violated 5 traffic laws. You were marked for 4 incomplete stops, and for not checking your mirrors through several grading points. On your second attempt, you violated 3 traffic laws, speeding over 5 MPH twice, and not using your turn signal. Additionally, you were penalized for autocorrecting the wheel on both tests. When you don’t maintain a constant grip of the steering wheel or use an approved method such as the hand-over-hand/grip-slide, you pose a danger by relinquishing control of the car. Unfortunately, all of these actions demonstrate unsafe driving behavior which will result in a drive test failure, by state standards. Consequently, our drive testers cannot legally pass a student if they do not abide by safe driving practices. We recognize that no one likes to fail, but the state has designed the test to help students understand how to drive more safely. Our interest is aligned with students passing but, even more so, with everyone's safety on the road. Fantastic experience: We had a inclement weather issue the day of our scheduled drive test. Upon calling Drive Safe to reschedule, the Westminster office (Jackson) offered to take both of my kids, without an appointment at that office, within the hour. Jen wasn't even scheduled to drive with kids that day, but she took mine out, gave them positive feedback and they passed the requirements for a license. We are so appreciative and can't thank the staff enough!

Fantastic experience: I had some scheduling issues with them however they were resolved by a awesome customer service agent named Karen who told me she works remote and has been with the company for a long time! My niece is especially nervous about driving and Jen Rockefeller was so nice and patient. My niece wanted a female and she has been awesome! My niece really likes her and so do I!

Negative experience: Made an appointment for our daughter to take her permit test at the Westminster office. When we arrived, nobody was at the office and the office was locked. Several other people were also there to take tests. Then, 20 minutes late, all the instructors rolled up in a pickup truck with two of them riding in the back. “Drive safe” huh? Way to set an example in front of the kids standing outside your office. Do yourself a favor and pick a different driving school.

Negative experience: Failed my kid for not checking rear view mirror (enough).. not sure how you can fail someone for something so subjective. The evaluator immediately tried to upsell my kid for a 200.00 1 hour private lesson. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that doesn't employ these kind of predatory practices against young people to make money.

The drive test standards are set forth by the state of Colorado, and our drive testers are certified by the state to observe and report to those standards. These standards are in place so that drivers abide by safe and lawful practices, and if a driver demonstrates they cannot abide by those standards, our drive testers cannot legally pass a student in the interest of safety and other drivers. The state requires that drivers check their mirrors at every intersection, every turn, and every lane change. In your daughter’s situation, repeatedly missing these important action steps not only demonstrates an underdeveloped safety habit, but it results in a drive test failure by state standards. We recognize that no one likes to fail, but the state has designed the test this way to help students understand how to drive more safely. It is therefore often the case that the individual passes on the second try after learning what issues led to the failure on the first try. This is why our testers offer additional instruction should the student want to practice or further develop the skills they need to improve on, in order to succeed the next time. Our interest is aligned with students passing but, even more so, with everyone's safety on the road. Fantastic experience: I enrolled my son in the driving school here to be able to get his permit. About a month after finishing the classes and getting his permit He has his first behind the wheel driving session and he was really hesitant at first because he didn't know what to expect. After I picked him up from his 2-hour session behind the wheel with the instructor here at the Westminster office, he was more confident and all of the feedback that he received and the tips that I got to help him behind the wheel work extremely useful. The staff here has always been extraordinarily helpful. Very nice on the phone if you have any questions or my overall experience with DriveSafe Driving schools has been nothing but wonderful. If you're on the fence about enrolling your child and any of the levels of classes either online or in person, I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Negative experience: Took my 20 year old black son for a driving test the instructor failed him because he couldn’t see his eyes looking in the rear view mirrors. I believe 100% it’s because my son is black went to another place this morning the instructor said he did an amazing job. The instructor here said if you took my class you know hmmm did you fail him because of his hair or because he didn’t take your class? If his hair was going to be an issue perhaps you should’ve asked him to tie it up since you can’t see his eyes! This company is about money and not supporting the black community.

We take comments related to discrimination very seriously and can assure you the reasons your son failed were not related to race, whatsoever. Your son failed for not using his turn signal through a roundabout, and because multiple times he did not look in the rearview mirrors. These violations result in a failed test under State standards. Negative experience: What I have been faced with them was a nightmare. Waste a lots of money. It was take me so long time and so stressful about passing their driving test. Negative experience: PLEASE don’t go here! ITS A SCAM. i would give a 0 if i could. they are incredible self centered and rude. whenever I did driving with them, the windshield was broken during a blizzard. and they wouldn’t fix it. and i could not see at all and was forced to drive 2 hours in downtown denver. (Which by the way i wasn’t supposed to do yet) obviously i drove terribly. then, i was left alone late at night because my parents had not shown up. And then, after all that i went to take my test and he was incredibly rude and failed me by 1 point on my birthday. I cried for hours because it ruined my sweet 16. Still crying. He deducted me on things i knew I did right because i tripled checked to make sure i did it. ONE POINT. he could have passed me if he wanted to. they are power hungry self centered people who only care about themselves, they put a front to look nice but in reality the scam you. if you don’t want to cry your eyes out then don’t go here. tell everyone it’s awful. take this from a direct customer, a teen who isn’t a parent hearing from their kids. I expirenced it and i hope no one else does. i’m sure there are nice people there, but certainly not who i was with.

Learning to drive is a privilege that offers lifelong access to adult opportunities. It also requires us as adults to comply with State standards for the 100 plus items required to pass a license test. Our responsibility is to help the State assure all drivers on the road that others are ready to drive safely. There is a standard and unfortunately it is not an issue of one point. Rather, it is an issue of why so many total points. Take this moment of disappointment and turn it into a positive. You will pass your license test and knowing why you got those points the first time might safe your life somewhere down the road.
Negative experience: This place is just running a racket!!! After $395 (the 3 day class and 1 drive test) I'm going to another place for my son's retest......it took me over a month to get an appointment for my son, he did not pass (due to "not enough mirror checks") so I called to make another appointment and we have to wait another month and it was in the middle the school day, I got hung up on twice.....the kicker is every child there was taking their 2nd test and they all passed.

As the largest and most trusted driving school in Colorado we hold ourselves to a high standard in support of helping our students learn to be safe drivers for life. Passing the license test is only one aspect of learning how to be a safe and responsible driver for life. You completed three in-car lessons with us last summer as an adult student. You failed to pass the license test twice suggesting underlying issues with your driving skills two months ago when you took your last test. Learning to drive as an adult is often more difficult because adult students often do not have family members or other licensed drivers to practice the training. With teens, the state requires 50 hours of practice but adults can take the license test without any or very little practice. It is not uncommon for adults to find it challenging therefore to pass the test. But, with the input at the end of the test from the tester, the student generally can pass on subsequent tests. We wish you a lifetime of safe driving and your investment in professional lessons may help you get a discount on your insurance costs.

Negative experience: Very unprofessional!!! This place is a scam to try and get more money out of you. My son paid $95 to take a driver's exam here which the instructor failed him for something we had practiced 100's of times, so I know he didn't do! She then tried to enroll us in a three day class for another $295! The very next day we scheduled the exam with another school, which he passed, first try!

Our driver's education programs for teens and adults are designed to teach students the skills needed to be safe drivers. Your teen student had not completed any drivers education with our company prior to testing and failed due to multiple "dangerous" actions as categorized by the State and numerous minor infractions. Our tester acted professionally with your student's long term safety in mind by advising you that classes could help him. The tester also completed the required education process after the test to train your student on the issues leading to the failed test result. We are happy to read from your review that he learned and, as with most students, passed the test on the second try. We wish you and your son the best.
Fantastic experience: It is so relaxing and reassuring when you are learning here. Their instructors were extremely knowledgeable and welcoming which kept me at ease allowing me to perform decently. I came without any experience but now that i drove with them I learned a lot more and now excited to continue driving.

Negative experience: I retract my last statement regarding the employees at this location, the owner as you see below is very unprofessional as well which explains why the staff is. I find it very UNPROFESSIONAL to share my ADULT DAUGHTERS version of her experience in your staffs words. But like every situation if we weren't there we truly don't know what REALLY happened or what was said. Making it look like she was upset because she "failed" in your response to my review is completely inaccurate and she was not upset about failing, failing is part of life, it was the way she was treated!!!!! It is unfortunate that pointing out the fact she is an ADULT should make others weary as well. Best wishes to all your future paying clients may their experience be better than my ADULT DAUGHTERS!

Our account files indicate that you were never in our location with our staff to have made the observations about staff interaction. Your adult daughter had purchased a package with both a one-hour in-car training and a license test. On May 5th your adult daughter decided not to complete the one-hour in-car training prior to taking her license test. One of our license testers spoke with your daughter to encourage her to prepare for the test and she declined. Your daughter requested a female tester and one of our license test staff members accommodated your daughter by doing the license test during her lunch break. Our staff went above and beyond to accommodate your daughter and provided a high level of customer service. Your daughter subsequently did not pass the license test. You called within a day and requested a full refund stating that you would post a bad review on Google if you did not receive a refund. You were refunded for the unused training service on May 7th but not the license test since that service had been provided. We recognize that no one likes to fail. However, our highest responsibility is to the safety of all drivers on the road. We wish your daughter a lifetime of safe driving once she meets State standards by passing the test.
Fantastic experience: My son took the 4-hour online Driver Awareness class on Saturday and completed his written in-person test today. He passed on the first try! Off to the DMV on Friday for his permit. Mary in the Westminster office was so accommodating and great at explaining their programs. Summer was so helpful getting us set up with the class, and Deborah was great at answering questions from the beginning. I'm impressed with DriveSafe and their outstanding level of customer service and professionalism!

Fantastic experience: I had a gentleman named Kevin as my instructor for my driving test. He was very fair. I made a casual joke at the end about passing from the infamous Kevin.
