Fantastic experience: When I attended TDI students took a poll and it was over 200 years of experience for the trainers, if you added the office staff that number went up to almost 225 years. The trainers were either very involved or the let drivers “figure it out” they had the skill of knowing how certain people needed to be instructed. Sometimes forcefull sometimes passive. It was a great experience. If I had to attend a school again it would be TDI. The instruction went far beyond passing y the test. They talked about real work trucking issues also I.e. work life Vs home life, what to stand up to with companies and brokers/ dispatchers, health nutrition etc etc great school experience

Negative experience: Terrible terrible terrible. Wouldn’t recommend for anyone to go here to get their cdl

Fantastic experience: Went in to test for my class b CDL I was nervous. At first the instructor who was doing the testing seemed a little short with me . I understand that he was just being professional and treating everyone equally and he was very fair in his testing procedures. I failed because I forgot something during the air brake portion and he allowed me the second chance since I caught my mistake. But on the second try I still forgot another thing which I didn't not catch the first time. And since you are only allowed 2 chances with the air brake portion I failed. He apologized several times which I thought was very nice. And after the test he went through my mistakes with me which was the best 5hing he could have done I will gladly be back to take my test over therethey want you to succeed just stay calm and remember they can only cut so much slack they still have rules they have to follow.

Fantastic experience: I recently received my CDL through TDI in Sellersburg and I couldn't be happier with my experience there. From John, the classroom instructor, giving us everything we needed and more to pass the permit tests. To Jerry, the road driving instructor, that was very patient with me as I learned how to drive a semi. Then there is the range instructor, Melvin. He helped me build my confidence by showing me what needed to be done then letting me figure it out by myself but also being available when I needed him. He also saw when I got frustrated and would tell me how to fix my mistakes. Pat, the state tester, is very fair in the testing part and is very helpful to explain everything thoroughly before you start each part of the test. My only complaint would be that if you require financial assistance to have everything done and approved before you start. Because if you start and it doesn't go through for whatever reason they make you go home until everything is ok which for me I had to miss a whole week before I could come back. Check on it often. I would recommend anyone to go here to get your CDL. Great group of people and a great experience!

Fantastic experience: My husband attended this school. They went above and beyond our expectations. He is very pleased. The instructors were great. He said he never once had a bad instructor. The first week was classroom and the second two weeks was all hands on. Everyone there was great and very professional. They will do all they can to make sure you succeed. I can’t wait to attend personally my self. This is the school I will be going to. I would recommend anyone interested in getting a CDL to go to TDI in Louisville it was well worth everything. They have a 10/10 with us. After just 15 days of training you could have your CDLs as well. TDI also has lifetime placement so no matter what you will never be without a job. They will see to it.

Negative experience: DO NOT LET THEM SELL YOU A DREAM!!!!! Glenn will tell you whatever it takes to get you in the door and cash in his hand. This place is only here to take people's money. If you have never driven a truck, they will NOT take the time to teach you. They expect you to be able to pass the test for the permit after ONLY 2 DAYS. This may work for people with some experience, but definitely not for someone completely new to this line of work. Glenn will make all these promises that they will get you through the school, but if you can't reverse a semi on the first try, you're gone and they keep your money. In a class of 6, the 2 young guys who have never driven before got singled out. Put on "academic probation" for not being able to back in the first day they were taught in a truck. It's not like they are given a full day, or even a full hour to learn in the actual truck. Matter of fact, the instructor was overheard calling someone a b!&%$ over the phone and saying to a student he didn't give a %$#@ anymore. How is anyone supposed to learn from an instructor with that kind of attitude? So the 2 young guys after being singled out and put on "academic probation" - one was sent home, they refused to actually work with him at all. He got a loan to get his CDL and is now stuck with a payment when the school refused to stick with him. The other guy, my boyfriend, missed his backing test by 1 point after being told "he had 3 chances (to pull forward) and the first one doesn't count".... wellllll he only pulled forward twice and was told he failed by 1 point. They told him he could opt to drop out now and they would refund half his money, or he could stay but they "don't see too many success stories" for people who stay after failing. WHAT DOES THIS SAY ABOUT YOUR ABILITY TO TEACH AND WHY ARE YOU NOT CREATING SUCCESS STORIES AS OPPOSED TO CREATING DEBT FOR THESE STUDENTS WHO COME THERE WITH THE DREAM GLENN SOLD THEM??? I don't know how you all sleep at night knowing you take people's money only to kick them out of the program when you're refusing to teach them adequately. I'm absolutely disgusted and appalled by the way this company is run.

Fantastic experience: At TDI, you can actually get your class A cdl license with in three weeks. I enrolled  at TDI with zero knowledge in truck driving, but today, I'm so much proud of myself for overcoming this challenge - to become part of a rewarding career. Thanks you TDI! Fantastic experience: The instructors will give you all the information you will need to pass the exam. It is your responsibility to listen, study and practice, practice practice! This is your future, take control. I came into the school having no experience driving a tractor/ trailer. I left my ego at home, focused, studied and spent whole days practicing maneuvers. Passed the test on my first try! From zero to licensed in 154 hours of instruction... IT CAN BE DONE!

Fantastic experience: I just came thru this program. I'm not saying it's not tough. What I will say is they set you up to succeed. They help you out as much as they can. It's up to you to work hard. The staff is great. The test is with the state examiner. He is on site and is fair as far I'm concerned. Work hard

Fantastic experience: Good place to get your CDL if you are ready to focus and put in your best. You will get out of this place what you put into it. All the employees here are ready and willing to help you in any way you need it, all you have to do is ask. Glen, is waiting to greet you on day 1, Mike can train anyone to back a tractor trailer if you listen to what he says! On the road training is very low pressure and the instructions given are very clear. The equipment in the yard is worn out pretty bad, but it is sufficient for what it is, the road equipment is in much better shape, and the test trucks are very well maintained and ready. All in all the training was way above average and they will help you find a career.

Fantastic experience: Going to TDI in Sellersburg was the best decision I could’ve ever made. The school was very professionally run and had the BEST teachers and instructors. I went from not knowing anything about a semi or knowing how to drive them to knowing over 100 parts of the truck and how to check them for safety, how the brake system works and knowing how to check it, how to parallel park and offset park a semi and how to drive them safely on the road. I thought learning all that in 3 weeks was going to be impossible but between the teachers and instructors it is absolutely possible. I’m living proof of it. I received my Class A CDL license and I have TDI in Sellersburg and all the staff there to thank. Not only will you receive the proper training and knowledge but you will be helped with job placement which in itself is worth good money. You could never go wrong choosing this school. The industry needs more truck drivers and if you like to drive and want in on this career path then TDI should be your first call.

Fantastic experience: Very glad I went to this school, John taught me a lot in the classroom to prepare me for my permit. Mike is a great range instructor taught me whole lot, I couldn’t do a lot of stuff at first even few days before test but he kept pushing me even when I didn’t think I could do it. Steve, Forrest, and Jerry help me a lot on my practice Drive time each one of them guys took their time and patience with me! It really got me where I needed to be to take the big test, it feels good to know I accomplished everything I need to know to be a successful safe truck driver. Fantastic experience: I really enjoyed my time at TDI - Sellersburg. All of the instructors are top notch and very patient. They will teach you everything you need to know to pass the CDL Testing and then some. If you are looking into a career in the Trucking Industry do yourself a favor and come and talk with them about the school, you will not be disappointed.

Fantastic experience: The first week is in class and they are very thorough. It’s long days but the instructors keep it as interesting as possible. They prepare you for everything you need to know to pass the permit test, but definitely download the app DMV genie and study that before taking it. The app is free with an option to pay 10 bucks for several versions of every permit test, well worth it. After the week of class, you’re on the backing range and out on the road. The small class sizes allow for instructors to work closely with individuals to ensure you pass the test. All of the instructors here are clearly veterans of The industry and as knowledgeable as they come. I had no issues with this school.

Fantastic experience: This course will definitely get you ready to drive a tractor trailer within the time allotted. My overall experience here was great. The instructors genuinely care about you getting your Class A license and do all they can to ensure you pass your road test on your first attempt. The days are long, but necessary in order to ensure you are a safe, road-ready driver by the time you leave the school. I was able to pass my driving test on the first try do to the fantastic instructors. 10/10 would recommend.

Fantastic experience: They break down all the information you need to know in a way that is easy to learn. Even if you have a hard time retaining a lot at once or have no experience driving large vehicles they work hard to help you and don’t leave anyone behind. They also do very well with job placement. They help you find an employer that works for your individual needs and negotiate to get the best offers. A lot of the employers that they work will offer full tuition reimbursement too!

Fantastic experience: I am Ola Oyetubo a Nigerian citizen, I went to TDI Sellersburg to get my CDL, it was a great experience for me. the instructors are great. I have a good time with mike he is the range instructor he will help you to the best so you can pass your CDL testing, just listening to Mike great man. Other instructors are also good such as Steve, jerry, etc.

Fantastic experience: As a learning institution TDI left me with a favorable impression. The patience that the instructors showed allowed me to be comfortable, and focus on the task at hand. Mike and Steve were extremely helpful to me being able to trouble shoot my way out of a compromising position, on the range, during my final test. Fantastic experience: I tested with Pat. He is one of the most professional people I have ever met. He is clear and concise. If your "ready" to take the test you will pass, if your not, he will see it immediately. I believe he has tested people for a long time. I am appreciative that he is the man that has the authority to pass or fail. The State hired the right guy for that position. In fact, he doesn't pass or fail you...you pass or fail yourself...he is the keen observator who directs the process and records your ability to operate a commercial vehicle. I guess I am just trying to say, he is very good at his job... whether you pass or fail is totally up to the applicant...one way or the other!

Fantastic experience: TDI was so awesome to work with the entire staff is great. Glenn brought me in and explained everything perfectly and got me started. My first week I work with John in the classroom he is very informative all the test that I took I had zero problems answering and passing the test. He is an awesome teacher. I met Forest and we started logbooks he helped us understand completely. he is also very informative smart guy he can answer about any question you have. And Terry in the office very easy to work with she make sure all your paperwork is in line and ready to move forward you can go to her anytime you want and ask a question. The next week I graduated to the range. Where I met Mike and he took over. Mike is great to work with he knows exactly what he’s doing he never even second-guess his self you listen to him you will have it down pat. He’s a fun guy and just want you to succeed Next I started going out on the road with Jerry. He’s wonderful so easy-going he let you do your thing but he tells you anytime you make a mistake or you need to improve he does it in a way where he doesn’t sugarcoat it but you also don’t mind listening to your criticism if there is a problem when it came time for me to do my final test with state of course I was nervous as could be but I really felt like if the teachers all thought I was ready I must’ve been. I took my test with Pat he explained everything very clearly I knew exactly what he expected from me. He stays calm never gets excited and just let you do your thing I was very impressed with him and I’m proud to say I’ve passed my test on my first try. went to the license branch the next day and pass my doubles and a triple trailers and tanker endorsements and receive my license and now I’m working with Glenn again to find the best fit for me. Very pleasant experience I recommend it to anyone this is a great field to get into. Thank you everyone at TDI

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with TDI it all started out with Glenn. He was very helpful when I decided to start classes. When I got into the classroom I wasn't sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. The knowledge base that I was given by John was helpful throughout my training and he actually made learning fun. When I started driving I had Forrest, Jerry and Steve as road instructors and Mike as range instructor. While all have very different personalities they are all excellent instructors. They are very personable and encouraging all of them went above and beyond to make sure everyone in the class understood everything and had the opportunity to gain all the knowledge needed to succeed. They along with my classmates made my time at TDI a memorable experience.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at TDI and you will too if you come in with the right attitude ready to LISTEN AND LEARN. Mike and Forest were great, straight forward and very stern, which is what I needed. Ms. Terry and Glenn were awesome in helping me get my situation figured out and I appreciate them for their efforts.

Fantastic experience: TDI has been an absolute blessing to be a part of. Each Instructor adds their own individual skill and personality to the learning experiance as the weeks go on. TDI is not only a good driving school but you get to have fun while doing it! You walk away with the knowledge and skill set you need to not only pass your test but to make a living for lifetime. Nine times out of ten you walk away with life long friends and in some cases family. You get out of it whatever you put in.

Fantastic experience: Staff and recruiters all work hard to fill you with the knowledge needed to pass on the first go! Big shout out to Mike for all the range wisdom! And another shout to Steve, Jerry and Forest for putting up with a few hundred road questions along the way. If you listen to these fella's and apply yourself you will obtain your cdl first go. Unfortunately the trucks available are pretty ragged out. Even for training purposes. We were down to 1 running truck for a bit and every other day or so another truck would be down and out. If it were not for all the instructors here from classroom, road and obstacle course training i would have never been able to pass. I can’t sincerely thank you all enough.

Fantastic experience: Had a wonderful experience. Lots of hard work but well worth it. Started in class with John who will help you learn everything you need to know about truck driving. He’ll get you all the tools you need to pass the CDL permit test. Next you’ll go out on the range to learn to drive the trucks. This is a very humbling experience for someone like myself who’s never driven a tractor-trailer before. Fortunately Mike is with you every step of the way, showing you and guiding you through every process until you truly feel confident in all of the maneuvers. Mike is truly an asset to the students and the company, I never could’ve done it without his help and guidance. Also at this time you will be doing your road test practices. Jerry and Forrest are instrumental in making sure you learn and fine tune all your driving skills and perform your turns, stops, curves, and shifting correctly. You can definitely get overwhelmed during this process but you’ll start to get better and better until you’re able to master everything you need to know about driving. Next, before your test you will take one on one session drives with Steve and Forrest. They are very critical on these drives and make sure you are doing everything as you need to and letting you know what you are doing right and wrong and exactly what you need to do to correct and consistently perform these driving skills. This is where you will be fine tuned to give you all the tools you need to pass your cdl license test. I can’t thank everyone here enough for teaching me all the skills I needed to become a confident, skilled truck driver coming in only 3 weeks prior having no knowledge in driving a tractor-trailer. Because of all of their hard work (and my hard work as well) I was able to successfully complete the cdl license final test on my first attempt, truly a wonderful feeling. Lastly Glen (recruiter, job placement assistance) is unrelenting in helping you throughout the whole process from your first contact with TDI to after the completion process. He will do everything he can to get you in contact with and start the process of getting you on with any of the companies you are interested in working for. He has so many recommendations based on what you tell him you are interested in doing and helps you scale down the process to find your perfect match in a company (or a few), then takes the initiative to get the ball rolling to get you hired. I’m not sure if anyone can do this job better then he does, a true asset. And I can’t forget to mention Teri, she was always available to answer my numerous questions about the process of the school and giving me invaluable information on things I need to do to make everything work out for me as smoothly as possible. I couldn’t have done this without all of you, and I thank you for everything!

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience at TDI. Mike the range instructor was incredible. Taught me everything I needed to know. The staff and teachers were outstanding and highly knowledgeable in the field. It was great experience. I would recommend this school to any one wanting to acquire a CAL.

Fantastic experience: Everybody at Tdi is great, classes were actually very interesting especially with John. He made class very fun with his rants but was very serious when he needed to get his point across. Mike in the yard was the most patient guy I ever known with not yelling at us, but yelling to get his point across!! And then when we would get it he would act like we were his own sons telling us good job or you’ll get it!!

Negative experience: I'll give both the positives and the negatives of the Sellersburg campus as a recent graduate of their program. I think it's worth mentioning that this is not a truck driving training course and more of a CDL testing training course. You will get a week of classroom training, a majority of it being videos and will learn some basic truck driving skills. These skills will include basic map reading, filling out daily logs and basic DOT regulations to name a few With that said, there is a lot more to learn about driving a commercial vehicle and this will be learned by the training your new employer will give you. The instructors here give you a lot of information to retain in a little amount of time so you really need to pay attention and take notes if you're going to be able to remember all of it. Your second week in my opinion, is the most important week in terms of helping you to pass the CDL skills test. Before I get too far into this week, I want to say that I cannot give Mike(skills instructor) enough credit or enough kudos for how helpful he is in making sure you are prepared for all of your backing maneuvers and especially the parallel parking. In regards to this week, it goes by so fast because you are spending 10 hours a day backing up in learning the proper way to make sure that you were doing the maneuvers well enough to pass the CDL skills test. You absolutely have to make the best of your time and practice as much as possible during this week because the following week you will be testing. If there is a negative at all to this training, it would be for those who are expecting to come to the school and learn how to drive a manual transmission. You will not get that training here. The school is designed to help you pass the test, not teach you to drive. What I mean when I say this is that they teach you how to drive properly if you already possess the skill of driving a manual transmission. They will definitely teach you how to switch gears properly, double clutch, and use high and low gears properly however. With that out of the way, I also want to give the positive to this. They have an automatic truck that you can be trained on to do the same driving functions without having to learn how to drive a manual transmission. At week 3, you will have roughly two days left to practice before you begin testing for your CDL class A license. It comes and goes very quickly so just be prepared to come to school and listen to your instructors carefully and you will have no problem passing your test and be on your way to becoming a professional driver with an awesome career. Edited add on: I want to add that after you graduate, don't expect to get much help from Glenn when searching for a job. After over a dozen calls, no returned messages and a bunch of excuses, he still hasn't been able to find employment in my area. I would suggest taking a job offered during school because once you leave and they get their money, they don;t care to help you.

Positive experience: Good school. The instructors are very knowledgeable. Infrastructure needs a little work; power went down, so no AC- AC went out another time - and 3 trucks had to be repaired. But, all 7 in my class passed and now have their CDLs. Also, the place could do with some new class chairs and WIFI.

Fantastic experience: TDI Awesome, If not for the hard work of the teachers and staff I would not have my CDL A today. I want to thank each and everyone for giving me the tools to a new and Exciting life.

Fantastic experience: This place was great, The instructors are wonderful and knowledgeable. They were very helpful through the whole process. All the tools you need to pass your cdl exam are giving to you, All you have to do is apply what they teach and you will be on the road and working in no time.

Fantastic experience: My experience with TDI has been great. All the instructors are extremely helpful, and as long as you listen to their instructions they will lead you to success. You get plenty of classroom time to prepare to take the three tests for your permit. And after the first week you have all the time you need to practice backing manovers on the range, and plenty of seat time driving on the road. I would recommend anyone looking to get their CDL class A to come through TDI.

Negative experience: Tried to get information about the training and cost, before they would even talk to me , wanted money out of pocket to do "their" paperwork. Lady in the the office was super rude about it. How hard is it really to be nice to someone, who is prepared to drop 5k in your lap for training that has unlimited supply, I'll take my cash to a company who wants to trade cold hard cash for actual training

Fantastic experience: I just graduated with my Class A CDL in three weeks. The instructors are super informative and helpful. Even if you don't want to drive otr the recruiters here will set up interviews for you in the field you desire. I'm so glad I got the opportunity to meet the employees and other classmates here. Definitely would recommended this place if you want to get your CDL A.

Fantastic experience: Took my 3 week class and passed my first try. Teachers are excellent, and you’ll have plenty of time to be ready for your CDL test. Multiple trucks to use and plenty of drive time. I have no complaints.
