Fantastic experience: CDS provided an exceptional learning experience, equipping me with all the skills needed to earn my Class A Commercial Driver's License. I not only learned everything required to pass the DOT exams and driving tests, but also gained valuable real-world knowledge from instructors who freely shared their lifetime of experience. Their training went well beyond the legal requirements, emphasizing safety and effectiveness. The instructors - Al, Rick, Andy, and yes, even that damn Bo - taught us to uphold a high moral and safety standard while on the road. Fantastic experience: All I can say is that if you are thinking about getting your CDL. CDS Auburn is the way to go. The staff and instructors are there to help you and they will double if not triple the amount of effort you are ready and willing to give P.S That guy Boe is top notch along with Rick and Andy couldn’t have asked for better instructors!!!!

Fantastic experience: CDS is a great school to help you obtain your CDL! The admin is quick to reach out to prospective students and the instructors are knowledgeable, encouraging, and invested in their students’ success!! In the classroom, Al taught the curriculum in an engaging way and so that all students were able to understand and retain the information. Boe, Rick, and Andy were excellent instructors in the training yard and I felt fully supported and prepared for my skills test at the end of my course. Thank you to everyone at CDS!!

Fantastic experience: A huge shout-out to CDS who were so instrumental in helping me achieve in earning my Class B-Bus certification. Izzy, Daniela, and Lane worked above and beyond in getting back to me upon sending a request for information. They are super knowledgeable and extremely reliable. Al was extremely resourceful and full of experience as he imparted to me his extensive knowledge for my success. Fantastic experience: Great instructors and staff there, was able to complete my CDL and came back for additional classes. Take your time with the class and dedicate yourself fully. Fast pace and while working on top of attending class. It can be exhausting but they are there to help you out. Just gotta speak up and they'll work with to pass the CDL skill tests.

Fantastic experience: Last Saturday morning at approximately 8:25 am I passed my road test at the DOL's Lakewood truck yard, completing the Commercial Driver School's program for a Class A license. Completing this course was not easy, and while I don't know exactly why it was as difficult as it was, I do know that the schools instructors and staff made it possible for me to complete it successfully. CDS is a good place to learn, from good people, who care.

Negative experience: Went to this school a few years ago and got kicked out because it took too long for me to get the manual down so the rude lady named Ashley told me to pretty much kick rocks when asked for more time just a FYI if you're looking for a good school I would steer clear.

Fantastic experience: I can’t not say enough good things about Boe, Rick, Andy and AL. These instructors are top notch. They care about their students and they all have a plethora of knowledge. They ensure you have the right tools to pass your test as well as succeed in the real world. I Can’t say enough good things about what I learned and experienced while attending cds thanks to Boe and his instructors.

Fantastic experience: Commercial Driving School (CDS) was absolutely the right choice for me. Looking to change career and get into the trucking industry. A friend of mine recommended CDS and boy was he right. From day one when the instructors say they will take care of you as long as you put in the work. They mean it. For me they went above beyond what was expected of them. From classroom training to field training, they will help you to pass and get your CDL. I felt the culture there and they won't leave you even if you fall behind on your driving skills. They are willing to put in the extra effort as long as they see it from their student. Even after getting my CDL, they also help me with my resume and job placement. This place is as advertised. You won't regret it.

Fantastic experience: I would definitely recommend this school to anyone who wants to get their cdl. All of the instructors there not only do they teach you for your test they also teach you what to do in the real world. Al is an amazing teacher he is definitely born to be a teacher. Bo is also an amazing teacher he picks up on what kind of learner you are and goes from there. This place is the place to go if you want to get your cdl.

Fantastic experience: CDS was a great experience. I love how they run their program, all from the beginning to the end. People in the office were great especially Sara. Classroom teacher Michael is so good at his job. Patrick and the instructors at yard are so awesome, each one has their own way of teaching and that helped me learn trucking fast. My biggest modification was Al ,he is very calm and patient during driving lessons and he stands all day long doing backing days,in the hot sun . Thank you CDS!!!

Fantastic experience: I am really happy that I chose to go to CDS. I knew nothing about trucks but CDS helped me to gain knowledge of the airbrake system, truck terms and an overall knowledge of trucks. They have instructors with a lot of trucking experience and helpful tips on how to become a smart truck driver. Overall, CDS provides you with the tools that help you become a truck driver it’s up to you to use those tools. Throughout my whole time at CDS all the instructors and staff have been willing to provide me with the information that I’ve needed and if they couldn’t provide it they’d always help me to find it. I attended the Auburn/Tacoma location and not only were the staff (Lane, Sara, and Daniela) super nice they made sure I was taken care of. The instructors (Al, Bo and Patrick) were all patient, aware of my weaknesses and strengths, always willing to help me to improve, and to help me build my confidence with driving. I never felt like a burden or forgotten about when I finished the program and needed that extra help to pass my driving test with the DOL. I always kept in contact with Patrick to be able to get extra help and he was able to work with my schedule, the staff and the current students schedule. Patrick’s great at what he does. The pretrip coaches (Christian and Ashley- Jayne) are a great duo. They helped me in the areas that I struggle with and help to encourage me to keep moving forward when I felt overwhelmed or defeated. They knew each students strength and weakness with pretrip and was ready and willing to help. The instructors/pretrip coaches are great and deserve all the credit in helping me with attaining my CDL. Overall, everyone at the Auburn/Tacoma location try to help as much as they can and everyone wants to see you succeed! So, don’t hold back on any questions you have because someone has an answer. Thank you CDS for helping me to become a mf trucker. I did happen to go to the Lakewood location with Bo and Patrick a couple of times and their staff is just as helpful I just don’t have any personal experiences to share. So, if you’re still reading this you might as well just sign up, you won’t regret it.

Fantastic experience: I can not say enough about this place. I had come from a company that was half way training me so I had experience with shifting but I was taught to float the gears. Bo took the time and taught me how to double clutch. The entire staff at the auburn office is just amazing. I want to give a big shout out to Bo thank you so much for everything.

Fantastic experience: These guys are awesome patient and they will stay with you until you get your cdl no matter how long it takes they really want to see you get your CDL they teach you to the standard of the industry listen to all the information they give you it is to your benefit. Even when class ends they will offer more training if you don't learn as fast as the other students the first week of class is very valuable to prepare you for your learners permit. Fantastic experience: I just passed my CDL test, they take so little well deserved credit but I want to thank individually, Darryl Lakewood Campus, Cam, Al, Patrick , David, and Jerre all these instructors and the support staff of Lane, Daniela, and Sara.

Fantastic experience: Saying that CDS is an amazing school is definitely an understatement, the amount of knowledge that Patrick, Michael, and Lane holds at CDS is incredible. They gave me the tools to further my career and become a licensed CDL class B operator. When i decide to upgrade to a class A, I’ll be coming back to CDS. 100% would recommend CDS to anyone who is on the fence about getting their CDL!

Fantastic experience: All the guys who instructed me from Mike in the class room, to Al, Patrick, Jess and Bo in the yard were amazing! All are very patient. I spent the most time with Al, who is an excellent instructor, backing and driving and a great person in general. I had a great time taking the class and really enjoyed meeting all my class mates as well. All great people!

Fantastic experience: CDS is stacked with great folks and instructors that genuinely care about your development and wellbeing. I expected the CDL school experience to be tough and grueling but ended up having a great time making friends during the whole process, Al especially was an absolute blast to work with. Passed my test first try because I genuinely believe CDS is equipped to make anybody a great truck driver!

Fantastic experience: CDS was an extremely memorable experience for me. I started with zero manual transmission experience and zero commercial driving experience. I left with CDL, HazMat endorsement, Tanker endorsement & TWIC Card. I had help from some very professional and helpful instructors. Vince & Jeremy in the backing lanes. Izzy was very cool and patient and very knowledgeable on pre-trip. And Patrick…what a guy. Tons of knowledge. Tons of experience. He gave me tools & tips on our road drives that I will use for as long as I continue driving. And a special thanks & appreciation to Lane for the numerous accommodations that I received. I am so proud & grateful to be a CDS GRADUATE and I plan on giving back to the school and helping others in the near future.

Positive experience: Sara and Lane were very supportive. I Failed the drive test the 1st time round. They always made room for me to use the simulators and was always very supportive and positive! The best part is that they don't just kick you to the curb when your classes are done. If you put in solid effort and are really trying to get your CDL, you can come in and use the simulators and get job leads!!!! I just got hired from a company that came in and did a presentation the 1st week of class!!!!!!! Company's REALLY do hire from them!!!!!!!! The only reason I didn't put 5 stars is because when I was there, we didn't have enough trainers at our campus for the size class we had. Trainers from another campus had to come help for a few days, and then they had to leave. Hopefully, they fixed that . Thank you, Sara, Lane, Mark, AL, secretary and trainers from other campuses. I'm a employed class A commerial driver!!!!!!

Fantastic experience: Excellent and patient trainers! Will give you all the time you need to study up while still keeping you on a schedule to graduate with the appropriate hours for each category. Excellent job placement, although I didn’t use it myself, there were many great opportunities given to me by both office staff and the trainers here. I was a returning driver with previous experience who needed to test over again after letting my Class A expire, and went through the entire process of the Class A program. Everyone there is like a good friend. You would only be doing yourself a favor by going here. Highly HIGHLY recommend this school. To everyone back at CDS, Love you guys!!!

Fantastic experience: First, I really appreciated CDS to be honest to me by providing a guaranteed cdl training to me until I got my cdl license without paying any extra money! Second All instructors will work hard to help you get what you need if you never give up to yourself. I am very glad to accomplish my goal with cds and I thank you Mr. Matthew Chambers the manager in Auburn campus for the patience you have to help people! Finally, I can’t miss to say thank you to my two favorite instructors Donol and Todd. So those two are amazing!

Fantastic experience: Great prep course for getting a CDL, class A or B. The instructors are experienced and knowledgeable, I learned a lot from Al, Todd, Patrick, Donal, and Bruce. This training gave me the skills I needed to pass my DOL exam the first try.

Fantastic experience: Went to this CDS location in Auburn for Schooling and man from day1 they took care of me till the day I passed my test. Not till the end of the 4 weeks school but until you pass your test, they will check up on you at the end of the day everyday they would check how far you’ve learned everything. Instructors are amazing they get down to the very detail on how to pass your test and also become friends so that you feel comfortable learning. They give you every tool you need to pass your tests and become a professional driver. Don't be afraid to ask questions. You get out of it what you put into it though. They won't be there to test for you. Paula and Matt in the office are also great resources and will answer any questions you have. They all show an immense amount of patience and knowledge.

Fantastic experience: I never thought I would be driving a tractor/trailer combination; however we lost our backup driver where I'm employed and I was "voluntold" that my company needed me to get my Class A CDL along with a hazmat endorsement. I registered with CDS at the Auburn location and I can't say enough about how professional and knowledgeable the office staff and the instructors are. The curriculum and skills practice is intense, but the instructors have the patience and ability to convey their wealth of knowledge to anyone that is serious about obtaining their CDL. They also had the ability to make an intense 4-week course fun. I never felt like, "ugg, I have to go to school today," but rather, "I GET to go to school today!" The also offered help after school hours and on Saturdays for students (like me) that needed some extra training. Thank you CDS, and specifically, Paula, Matt, Al, Chris, Guy, Donna, Keith, Bruce, and especially Mike! I'm a proud holder of a CDL! Chip

Fantastic experience: Knowledgeable and professional staff made for a great learning experience. The instructors are very helpful and are able to turn you into a professional driver in just 4 weeks. My favorite part is that they continue to support me even after my classes are done. I passed my CDL test the first time through thanks to everyone at CDS Auburn.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience learning how to drive Class A CDL vehicle through the Auburn CDS campus! Mike at the driving yard is extremely knowledgeable and patient with all the students. Guy had lots of tips and tricks that made me a much better driver, and made sure I was extra prepared for my CDL skills test. All the instructors at the Auburn campus are exceptional in their knowledge of driving truck, and the best part is everyone has a sense of humor so it makes for a fun time!! I would highly recommend them!

Fantastic experience: I had an excellent experience with CDS. Ronnie and Paula in the office were a great resource. Paula was super quick to help me with job leads once I graduated. Al, was an excellent classroom instructor. Once in the yard we had Mike, Chris, Guy, and Donna. Each brought their own set of skills to the training. Mike, tell your wife I said hi! New guys, study your pre-trip. It's no joke!

Fantastic experience: Just graduated from this school, honestly couldn't be happier with my experience here. The ladies in the office Ronnie and Paula are so kind and helpful. I was worried in the beginning about being a female going into a male dominated field but the instructors treated me just the same, all a great group of guys.

Positive experience: Auburn Campus office staff Paula and Roni were great. They were always there to assist and answer any questions, even after I completed the course. Very helpful in assisting with job leads. Quality training and Instructors Guy and Mike provided great insight on techniques for driving and backing. Hired 3 days after passing drivers exam.

Fantastic experience: attended CDS through my work, the office staff was very professional and very quick when it came to information and documentation that was needed. the instructors were knowledgeable and worked on a one on one. Mike has many years of experience and any little detail he gave was for success. i’d recommend anyone looking to better their career with a CDL to attend auburn.

Fantastic experience: Enjoyed my experience at CDS. I went from never driving a 10 speed let alone manual to being able to do it comfortably. I highly recommend this school over others. They were pretty patient and got me enough training to be comfortable to drive all the time. The training was enough for me to land a job as well. Their reputation makes it so that you get bumped up in the employment list when applying to jobs. Lots of people know of them and know the students that come out are high quality.

Positive experience: Good school. They teach you what you need to know for the difficult driving test/pre trip/ and backing exercises. The reason I'm marking 4/5 instead of 5/5 is because my first instructor I had was rather rude and immature and yelled at me. But when I talked to the office staff they got me away from him. And also we had staff members quit on us mid training. That being said I did get everything I needed to pass and I did.

Even now I have a question they still reply back to me and help me to provide information of job replacement if you wanna be a professional driver, come here to get your training!

Fantastic experience: Wonderful school, great instructors. Doing night shift was a blast with the best instructor.(Chris) Throughout the whole thing, classroom and yard the instructors keep it light. Really cool that they actually care. The front desk is also nice (Ronnie and Paula) even though they’re always busy, are still very friendly. Also good working with the Awesome Campus Director: Ashlee. And of coarse can’t forget Matt. Wink wink :)

Fantastic experience: Great place! Extremely friendly staff and instructors have plenty of experience to teach the correctly. If your looking to get your CDL, the Auburn location is the place to do it!

Positive experience: UPDATE: CDS contacted me shortly after this initial review and got me squared away with the DOL. They were very apologetic and respectful handling this situation and assured me this was not the normal operations for them which I truly believe. Although my initial experience with CDS was not great they handled the situation with absolute professionalism and were very sincere in their apology. This response along with the quality of the classroom portion they taught deserves 4/5 stars. I took the Hazmat Course here and had two big problems with this school. The communication and organization is terrible. When I initially signed up over the phone with Matt Chambers he charged my card for $700 and said he would send an email to me with a receipt and documents to sign immediately after. After an hour I got nothing and called back but I was bounced around for the next 3 days saying Matt wasn't available each time I called. After three days I spoke with one of Matts bosses who was able to get him to call me back and send me the receipt and paperwork to fill out. The actual classroom portion with Andrew McNeeley was excellent and I passed the DOL test no problem. HOWEVER the DOL told me the school never input me as having taken or completed the course and was unable to give me the HAZMAT endorsement until after the school input me correctly. Im still waiting for the school to do this as I am writing this review the same day. Additionally the school and Andrew McNeeley both told me that they would input students with the DOL the same day we finished the course; I tested two days after completing the course. Overall the material they teach is great but in my experience they made me jump through too many unnecessary hoops which should have been taken care of on their end such as getting a receipt, receiving documents which needed to be filled out and signed for proper enrollment, and not informing the DOL of my completion of the course. Because of these reasons and the fact I don't have my hazmat endorsement yet despite doing everything on my end correctly I am giving CDS 2/5 stars.

Fantastic experience: This has been one of the most enlightening challenges I've come across in my life. I'm 54 years old and tired of the same old. This school has backed me up, taught me everything I need to know. Stood beside me, taught, tutored me along the whole way. Now that I'm a graduate there are still beside me helping me with resume and getting me job interviews My future looks bright. Thank you so much commercial driver school. Fantastic experience: Going into the school i was very hesitant because i did not know if this was the right thing that i wanted to do. After the first day in the classroom i knew i was in the right place. All the staff here is outstanding and they want you to pass your drive test!! I had an amazing time while i attended this school and i would recommend it to anyone that wants their CDL.

Positive experience: Pros: I chose this school over others in the area because of the time the Director took to answer all of my questions on the phone. She took a half hour and never made me feel silly or rushed. After seeing what she juggles in person, I was even more impressed. I got all the help and training I needed to pass my tests on the first try. I thoroughly enjoyed the staff at the Auburn campus. Instructors were invested in my success. I was extremely grateful for that! Cons: Communication about what to expect and how the class would be structured was lacking. I like to know how things will flow so I don’t feel lost in the process. Lacked a bit of consistency or organization. Again, a personal preference of mine. Not very PC. It was a good intro into what real-world trucking would likely be like though.

Fantastic experience: This is by far one of the best training experiences I have received. The instructors take the time to make sure you are comfortable and ready to to test for your CDL. The staff is genuine and kind and offer a comforting atmosphere. The school makes the experience a personal one that I will surely miss.

Fantastic experience: So my experience was fantastic starting with Tom, Chris, and Trish taught me so much they each compliment each other in different areas of drive styles Trish really made it simple learning to shift I had bad habits but she made it easier. The yard time with backing was taught by Chris and Tom and they explained it well and I learned quite a bit Chris helped with a couple of bad habits while drive, all of them communicate well... The office ladies were helpful every time I needed anything... The pre-trip was lacking but they fixed the problem so over all I recommend CDS OF AUBURN great experience Thanks guys for everything...........

Fantastic experience: Life changing experience and probably one of the best moves I've made so far. I wish I would've did this long time ago. I highly recommend this school for anyone that is looking to get their Class A or any other commercial driving license. The instructors and office personnel are all great. The entire staff was very helpful and willing to give you the best learning experience. Even after I completed my course they called to make sure I was lined up for jobs. All the instructors are very knowledgeable and always made sure we were learning and getting the proper amount of hours in. I had even fallen behind in hours logged, but the instructor (Mike) was willing to come in on his day off just to help me get my drive hours up to speed. Mike is an excellent teacher. He explains the whole process very clearly. If you have a chance to work with him take advantage of it. If not, as I stated earlier, they're all awesome and you won't be disappointed. Fantastic experience: Incredible place with staff who are dedicated to your success. Everyone is willing to go the extra mile to make sure you are ready to test. Scheduling is very flexible for work hours, classes cover every point beginning to end for the DOL test. The staff make it 100% hassle free to get in and out of the DOL for permits and testing, they schedule it all for you. 10/10 would recommend to anyone seeking their license, and would absolutely do it all again. Negative experience: The instructor's were amazing, but the school lied about how once u go to their school you will be a part of the family for life. Thats a lie, I got my license and asked the school to help me look for a job and they never once helped me. I was sitting at home for 2 months looking for a job but no one wants to hire a nun experience driver out of school. I keeper texting them and asking them to help but no response. But whenever I got a question about the school they are quick to respond but when its time to ask if they can help me with a job, no response. Honestly they just need new staff that care about the students. Nothing against you matt and chris yall made my experience alot better.

Fantastic experience: I went to CDL class A training here over the past month. I had a great experience the staff in the office was friendly and always helpful. I did the day time class and all the driving and pretrip instructors are awesome. They are patient and teach everyone as an individual they would often stay after class for extra 30 minutes to an hour to help students who are getting ready to take DOL test or to help students falling behind . Also the instructors are thrilled once you pass your test and receive your license! Big thanks to Mike who helped me most of all. Positive experience: Covid-19 kinda shook up the whole world. CDS TRUCK DRIVER school was no exception. PPE is required at all times on campus and during training periods in the truck.
