Fantastic experience: Hey everyone ! If u haven’t gotten your child in this class ! You’re definitely missing out !!! Both my 17 year old daughter and my 18 year old son have both taken the class and at the end of the 7days , BOTH of them are currently on the road and. Driving to work ! And I don’t have to worry about them on the road he did so well with both of my kids .. I had zero worries of them getting in the car with him he was patient and brave shall I say ! So stop waiting and get your kids in this class .. DONT WAIT !

Fantastic experience: Hancock Driving School was an amazing experience. Ms. Hancock was super friendly, patient, and taught me a lot. She took a chance on my as an mature adult driver and taught me to trust myself and lose the anxiety, which resulted in finally receiving my license after many years of trying. I am eternally grateful and 1000% recommend using Hancock Driving School.

Fantastic experience: On the phone for 30 minutes with Mrs Hancock regarding driving lessons for my grandson. Since they are booked out to October she asked my concerns and gave me several great driving instruction tips to implement saving me a ton of money! So appreciate her help! Hopefully these tips will help him be a safe driver and if not, we will be scheduling for october. Thank you for taking the time to speak with me !

You might think that driving school is too short to be effective, but it isn't! The teachers can do so much in such a short time - it's worth the money!

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of speaking with Mrs. Hancock today as I was requesting information about driving tests, etc. Mrs. Hancock was kind and extremely patient with me. She provided a wealth of information and she did not have to. In this often harsh post COVID world, we need more people in this world like Mrs. Hancock.

Negative experience: If I could give this 0, I would. I enrolled my daughter in the "teen driving program". When we dropped her off, she was in the general class for people who needed a certificate for court. When I called to see if it would be a different class the next Saturday, she said the class would have repeat information. It's a money grab. $300 to have your teen sit through the same thing for 4 Saturdays just to check a box. They're not learning what they need to. 8am-noon (supposed to be 2) and they just watched movies. I can't believe they can advertise a teen driving course. DO NOT SEND YOUR TEEN HERE. Great if you just need the cert for court, I guess.

Fantastic experience: I past my test this morning I’m so happy and proud of myself Ms Hancock really did a big part of it I was a scared driver I never wanted to drive and she made me feel so comfortable and relax with driving she a very nice and funny smart woman … for the past five days I was behind the wheel she would talk to me and she explained things so simple and I learned so much and I will continue on learning more .. Thank you so much Ms Hancock I would recommend people to go to your school ☺️☺️

Negative experience: Worst experience and waste of money honestly the teacher was not enthusiastic or interested at all barely engaging with us the staff was very short tempered and only showed us videos I could’ve watched myself for no cost

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars I would! BEWARE before you patronize this business. The owner is rude, unprofessional, and does not how to conduct business in an ethical manner. Parents please read the paperwork before you sign. The school wants you to attest to facts that are not true and they get angry when you question their unethical tactics. They are not giving student the correct amount of hours of behind the wheel driving as required by DMV yet they require you to sign that they did in order to obtain a certificate of completion. THEY ARE CREATING THEIR OWN RULES and they lie about the requirements in order to maximize the amount of students they can enroll. Not giving student drivers the required hours and/or dismissing them from the course early is a disservice to new, young, inexperienced drivers. My experience with them was THE ABSOLUTE WORST! The lady is down right nasty.

Negative experience: If only I could give ZERO stars....Would not recommend. Poorly run business. Owner takes no responsibility for poor actions. Scheduled in April for a class end of June- was called to reschedule because she forgot to put us on the schedule. Let her know twice that child was in summer school- the day before he is scheduled to drive this is a problem because they only drive in the morning?? I was told I could get a refund or reschedule for August. ZERO customer service and attitude from owner because of her mistake.

Fantastic experience: This driving school is where you want to go!!! Everyone was extremely helpful, professional, friendly, and they went beyond my expectations of a driving school. They have great rates and flexible hours along with amazing driving instruction. We were beyond happy with this driving school and look forward to using them again next year when my other son needs a driving school!

Negative experience: In the beginning and for the behind the wheel course and test, my daughter had an awesome experience! However, when she needed help in how to go about applying online for her license, as Mrs Hancock informed us we could do, we were blown off. All I was continually told was "I just dont know, we cannot do it for you!" I never asked her to do it for my daughter, just needed a little bit of guidance! Guess she stopped caring after she got paid and gave the test! Just an update. I just spoke with a completely different driving instructor. That person informed me that there is NO emailing option. The only options available was MAILING the information in, FAXING it in, or making an in person appointment! We feel deceived! Not to mention that ALL driving instructors were sent the same information and INSTRUCTIONS on how to apply. So for me to be told "I just dont know" was deceit at its worst.

Negative experience: The instructor was very nervous and easily startled which made me uncomfortable. She was not interested in teaching so much as throwing you in the water expecting you to sink or swim. If you don’t already know how to drive, you won’t learn here. They do not work well with those over 19 and will admonish and insult you for not learning sooner. Not recommended for adults or anyone with anxiety. Save your money and go somewhere better.

Fantastic experience: Let me say that I was so scared to drive for a long time but I finally got over my fear. I called to ask about their classes and Mr. Hancock was so nice to describe to me all the details about their business. It was finally my week for classes and Mrs. Hancock was so nice and she didn’t have a problem with teaching me right from wrong. I really appreciate her and her patience. If your looking for a driving school that’s gone treat you with respect and help you with what you need help with this is absolutely the perfect place.

Negative experience: SMH very unprofessional and unorganized! He act as if he can’t plan appropriately. He asked me what time I wanted him to get me every single day and I specifically told him 12:00. Being that I’m a college student, I have classes to attend and I didn’t want the driving to interfere with it. You would think that since I paid him he would be more CONSIDERATE, but no not at all. The first day that we were suppose to go driving, he canceled, second day we went driving, but it was only for 30 minutes. On the website, it said a hour. Third day, he came waaaay tooo early and I had to cancel, fourth day, he canceled again and postponed it to the week afterwards. The following week came, and he canceled again. I just asked for a refund.

Negative experience: The behind the wheel Instructor is Unprofessional

Negative experience: I was referred to Hancock by a coworker who spoke highly of the behind the wheel experience for her daughter. I had some questions about how the scheduling would work if my child has after school activities until 6:30 2 days a week. I told them he went to Hickory in Chesapeake. Her response was “Oh no we can’t take him because he’s too far out for us.” When I mentioned their website indicates they serve Chesapeake, and that it might be nice to indicate hickory was too far, I was told to have a nice day and was hung up on. I totally understand that for a business based in Portsmouth can’t accommodate a Hickory student. A simple suggestion to improve the information on their website was clearly not something they were willing to hear. Maybe they are lovely people but customer service could be improved.
