Fantastic experience: Awesome class - my son got a ton out of it and passed his written permit exam with no problem. He'll be back for more drive time soon. Everyone there is incredibly helpful and pleasant, even though I am sure they answer the same questions over and over. We'll definitely send our next kid through Academy School of Driving, and I'd recommend it to anyone who's about to have a teen driver.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with this company. My daughter went through the class and did all the behind the wheel hours. I scheduled her driving test months in advance, we showed up for our appointment and the instructor never showed. This caused us to miss our DMV appointment as well. They didn’t call to let is know anything, after an hour I finally got through to someone. Horrible experience.

Negative experience: There is a woman named Emma Figueroa Cubas who is charging a thousand dollars for each person she helps get a license. She takes them there and another woman inside gives them the answers to the questions on the exam

Positive experience: We used Academy School of Driving for our daughter's training and license test. I made a mistake and didn't schedule her for the 6 hours of instructor lead training necessary for a license at age 16. She took the driving test and passed first try, but we couldnt get her license without the 6 hours of instructor drive time needed. Mr T, Aimee and Shae were fantastic in getting her hours, drive sessions, completed to get her license asap. The online scheduling is simple but fills fast, Two months out, so plan accordingly to avoide my mistake.

Fantastic experience: This school is AWESOME! I had classes with Jessie there. JESSIE IS THE BEST! So patient, a lot of good tips, I had a very comfortable driving and learning process with Jessie. I felt welcomed by Shea and Amy. I didn’t interact with other staff much but they are all polite, friendly, and respectful. I saw the legendary Mr. T too but didn’t have a chance to talk to him. Overall, these people can teach you really good!!! Just listen to them carefully and follow their tips. I’m glad I chose that school. I passed my test with their other location as well.

Positive experience: Trying to communicate with anyone from this school is always so difficult. You call and leve emails yet you do not get a reply or response. My son took the online driver's Ed classroom due to Covid. It took us weeks to get an appointment to take the written part of the driver's Ed. We ended up booking the written test online. Then received an email saying it had been canceled and we would have to reschedule. Once we were able to actually speak to someone to get scheduled the person who was in charge of setting up the test was 20 minutes late even getting to the office to give the test. We were told that they were running errands that that we had to wait for loose the test spot that would not be be rescheduled. Communication would be a great thing to have especially for a company that teaches driving.

Fantastic experience: Academy School of driving is a phenomenal program! I put both my daughters through this program and they both loved it. The classroom instructors prepared them well with all the information they needed in a fun and engaging way. The driving instructors put them at ease and gave them confidence behind the wheel. I would highly recommend this school to anyone wanting to equip their kids well for driving!!!!

Fantastic experience: I had a complaint with an instructor at the N. Union location. I reached out to the manager/owner Matt who went out of his way to not only hear my issue but took the time to understand my situation and find a resolution. He understood how his I employee made me as a long term customer feel. I really appreciate him and his time. I would recommend this school as they not only assisted me with my oldest child 7 years ago. I went back for my middle child. And I am praying they are around for my youngest 7 years later. Thank you!

Negative experience: This location is fairly close to my new neighborhood so when I scheduled an appointment with the Academy, expecting a great experience I was turned away with laughter and told the DMV does driving test. I was told that my “terminology” wasn’t right. The behind the wheel driving test is what I needed. Not whatever Tom and staff were laughing about. Unprofessional behaviors all around.

Negative experience: Do not waste your time and money. This place’s communication is a major issue. They never answer their phone, reschedule and cancel classes without giving you explanation - all after classes were confirmed claiming it was the customer who did it (after you receive multiple confirmation messages). Beware: every class your teen will take, will have a different instructor who gives different comments and different road safety rules. There is zero consistency in what a teen should improve on because what one instructor deems correct, another will say otherwise. This place seems to have very generic explanation of services and what is included in the packages, and when they cancel lessons, it’s always after you paid for the package and after whatever new idea/rule they have. Pay more money if needed somewhere else, but save yourself time, stress, and unnecessary disappointments and do not go to this place.

Fantastic experience: ASD bent over backwards to help my teens accomplish their goals and overcome every obstacle (and there were quite a few) in getting their licenses. They are so helpful, kind, and thorough. We have 2 more teens to go and we will definitely be going to ASD!

Fantastic experience: Matt is really kind and I love the atmosphere in the office good vibes and it's pleasant they all have a great sense of Humor whilst one of the instructors Named Aimee took the time to explain a question for me individually so I have a better understanding. Highly recommend you will be satisfied

Negative experience: Their instruction is fine, but be prepared to have their scheduling waste a lot of your time. Twice they begged us to reschedule because THEY overbooked, and a third time they fumbled a scheduled drive for our son completely. Very unprofessional.

Negative experience: My first driving lesson was horrible. I warned the instructors that I had severe anxiety about driving. They told me not to worry about it. The whole lesson the instructor kept reminding me how dangerous driving is. It was horrible and I didn’t feel safe driving for awhile. Plus Every time I try to schedule for a drivers class it try’s to make me pay even though I already paid for it. Now it’s the end of the year and there’s no more slots. $500.00 down the drain.

Fantastic experience: Great place to send your teen to learn to drive! Mr T is funny and engaging and the skills/skid course is helpful!

Negative experience: I do not recommend this place to my worst enemy. So many things have gone wrong with my trying to get my license for years and I finally turn 18 and am able to get it but this place screws me over. I had an appointment for the test and then for the DMV to actually get the license. They then cancelled the appointment literally an hour before and no where else could do it. The next DMV appointment available isn't until Christmas so now I have to wait over another entire month to get my license because of them. DO NOT GO HERE!

Fantastic experience: Went to this school for my permit. Mr. T is an amazing teacher. The class talks about useful things for learning to drive. Got to learn how get out of a skid and park and not hit cones. The class covered basics, DUI's and many other useful topics. Definitely recommend this class.

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough wonderful things about the entire staff at Academy School of Driving. From day one they were extremely professional and went out of their way to be helpful. When we had to reschedule during a rough patch of adolescence that were totally understanding. When my son lost his permit and DMV told us it would be a month to get an appointment they told us how to get a replacement the next day. They made the practice drives fun and confidence boosting. This is THE place to take your new driver. They will get you through the whole process with ease. Thank you Academy School of Driving!!!

Fantastic experience: Leaving a review over a year after learning to drive here. Took a course as an adult learner, driving only, no written tests as I had my permit already. Was very reluctant about driving at the time and hadn't driven hardly at all when I started my lessons. I remember my first impression was surprise at the respect for and non-hostility towards my personal health choices (back in early 2021, mind you). That respect carried over into the lessons as well. The instructor was extremely calm and patient. He constantly stressed the importance of safety while driving and was great at pointing out all little things I could do to improve every time it came up. Every hour of driving I noticed measurable improvements in my vehicle handling. A year later, I'm extremely comfortable driving and consider myself a safe and conservative driver. This school puts safety first above all else. They're not just teaching you how to "pass the test", but how to truly be a safe driver, as they should. Highly recommend, if last year's quality says anything about this year!

Fantastic experience: I took Mr. Ts class 4 or 5 years ago and promised him I’d leave a review when I left his class and here I am, staying true to my word:) mr Ts class is absolutely fantastic all of my memories from that class are so positive (also I haven’t ever gotten pulled over or hit a mailbox or caused an accident sooo) He also helped me create good habits! I still think of that story you told us about the lady at the gas station who was almost killed and I always lock my car doors if I’m getting gas alone. Mr T definitely made a memorable impact on my life! Great teacher:)

Negative experience: Company does not disclose that at least some instructors are unvaccinated when in a vehicle for 3 hours with a child. Instructors share their anti-vaccination opinions with teen drivers. Owner does not believe company bears a responsibility to inform customers despite being unable to comply with social distancing recommendations for unvaccinated people.

Fantastic experience: Very professional and outstanding driver training. Granddaughter took driving course, then pre- driving test “check ride” and finally state driving test (and passed!). Everyone we dealt with was extremely professional in every way. Highly recommend Academy School of Driving!!

Fantastic experience: Great experiences with all of my kids, from the instruction hours and permit test, to the driving hours, to the actual test. Really made it enjoyable for my kids and put them at ease!

Negative experience: They got the job done and my daughter passed her test, but I cannot remember being in a place that was less friendly or welcoming.

Negative experience: Drive instructor was very rude and refused to tell me what I messed up in my driving test. Told me to come back again so I could spend another $60 on a test.

Fantastic experience: The classroom portion of this driving school is so amazkng, I was nervous going into it thinking it would just be notes and videos, but it was a lot more then this. Mr.T made the class very informational while making it very enjoyable. I would 10/10 recommend going here to learn how to drive.

Fantastic experience: On January 25th, my son was scheduled to take his driving test with Academy School of Driving at 1pm with a follow-up appointment at the DMV to get his license at 2:20. When we arrived at Academy for testing, the site was closed and there was a message posted that all driving tests were cancelled due to icy conditions. We contacted Matt the owner and told him we had not received any information about the testing being cancelled (at the time we didn't realize that my wife had received the notices but never saw them because she has no access to her phone while at work). Matt apologized and surprisingly offered to perform the test despite the conditions with the understanding that sliding on icy roads can result in failure. He then drove over from the main office to the testing site and administered the driving test. Matt was very professional about the whole situation and I felt he went above and beyond to ensure we were not inconvenienced. I highly recommend the Academy School of Driving to anyone in need of drivers training. Their staff is friendly, professional, and as demonstrated by this experience, willing to go the extra mile to ensure their customers receive the best possible service. Thanks to all at the Academy School of Driving.

Negative experience: The instructor I felt graded unfairly. The road conditions were icy and the instructor didn't take that in consideration. I just threw 60 bucks out the window! She said don't get me wrong, you did real good, so why did you flunk me ?

Negative experience: I went here back in 2017. It was my first time ever being taught how to drive in a driving school. The classroom instruction was fine, but the on the road lessons were awful. I paid $475.00 to be yelled at and do loops in parking lots. I was taught nothing that would benefit me while doing the skills portion and was not refunded my money when I asked for it back. Instead, I received a very plastic sales pitch to come in and do my last lesson. I still am nervous to be on the road, but I have learned more from my friend who is not a teacher, than from these people. I would not recommend it at all.

Positive experience: The owner and training staff for the actual driving academy training were excellent. As for the driver’s road test, the examiner lacks not only customer service skills (professionalism), but sensitivity regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. I backed out of the scheduled appointment first from the “What’s up?” greeting we received as we walked in followed by my observation of the examiner not wearing a mask as he got in to another car testing someone. Nope, I’d rather pay the extra $10 at another business than to risk my daughter’s (and my family’s) health. Truthfully, if it wasn’t for that they would’ve received a higher rating from me.

Everyone is very knowledgeable about all aspects of the process of getting a permit all the way through getting your child's license. They are so kind, understanding and patient. They have literally walked me through every step along the way. My daughter has also enjoyed her driving lessons with them and has always felt comfortable with anyone who was her drive instructor.
