Fantastic experience: If you need to learn how to drive, don’t hesitate, pick DC Star. I was nervous about driving and booked a few lessons. Mr. Ish and Mr. Teddy were both amazing teachers, patient and kind. They get you to practice on the actual test route so that by the time the test happens you are already familiar with the roads. They also taught parallel parking with cones. I passed on my first try! I even got to do a 1 hour lesson before and use their car. 100% recommend!

Fantastic experience: I took the 10 hour driving course and the instructor Teddy did an excellent job in all the classes, giving you advice and correcting mistakes as you drive. They take you around the road test area and practice everything you need to do during the road test. Don't panic, the road test is easier than you think, at least in my experience.

Fantastic experience: We recommend DC Star Driving School to all learning how to drive &/or prepare for a driving test. The Reps are professional & pretty responsive to one’s needs & requests. The instructors (mainly 2) successfully helped prepare us for the test. We purchased 30 hrs (in 3 sets of 10). For the most part, we drove b/t 12pm & 4:30pm, experiencing the city streets & highway(s); we also practiced parking (parallel, as well as backing in & out). Scheduling the 1st set of lessons was rather a breeze b/c we were new customers; we had issues scheduling the next set (initially) b/c either we had to do so as a new customer or existing customer (don’t recall now). When we did so, it wiped a pending lesson out; however, when we reached out to the company, a Rep assured us the lesson was still showing internally. This company was communicative & called in advance when there was an issue (e.g., personal or w/the vehicle, only 2 out of the 15 lessons). The company made rescheduling those lessons simple. It also even completed the “Certificate of Eligibility for Provisional License” after we simply requested a consolidated list of completed lessons, to include the dates & times. There were also a couple of times the driver allowed us to drop ourselves off at an alternate location (in route to the subway station); & there was even one (1) time where the driver waited ~ five (5) mins. while we were running late for the pick up (end of lesson). Lastly, the company offered to meet us 30 mins. ahead of the scheduled time the day of the test for a quick review & even assisted w/the check-in process, possibly because we’re valued customers/clients & the company may feel invested. Nonetheless, that was very thoughtful; & we’re grateful for the relationship & support along the way!!!

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend this driving school enough! Learning to drive as an adult can be extremely stressful and at times embarrassing but Teddy and Mr. Ish were so helpful and reassuring! I had only driven a handful of times before taking lessons with Mr. Ish and was extremely uncomfortable behind the wheel, but by the third lesson I was comfortable driving, and by the time I took my road test I was confident in both my driving and parking and was able to pass my road test. If you are on the fence, take classes here!

Fantastic experience: The instructors were very professional and patient when teaching behind the wheel lessons. In preparation for the road test, they do an excellent job providing the best tips and critiques to ensure a pass. I received a one hour practice before the test, which greatly improved my nerves and my performance. You will definitely pass your road test if you follow all their advice!

Fantastic experience: I took 6 hours of driving lessons with Mr. Ish and successfully just passed my DC road test. He was patient and very knowledgeable about the test and a phenomenal teacher. I really only practiced about 5 hours without him and was able to pass because of how good the lessons were. He made me feel confident going into the test and I would 100% recommend to everyone!

Fantastic experience: This is a great driving school. Passed the test after 10+1h with th. The instructors are relaxed and helpful. After a slightly confusing process online to book classes, comunciation and scheduling is easy and smooth. I also recommend to rent a car with them to pass the actual test, with a 1h warm up lesson before. I heard people stressing about parallel parking, but don't, it's easy, three steps, they explain it to you very effectively. The cars they use are good too. Go with them!

I am an immigrant from New Zealand who never got my license back home, and had to start almost from scratch, in my mid 30s, with Mr Ish, the amazing instructor here. Mr Ish not only gave extremely clear instructions and coaching, he also understood the driving experience very well from the learner's perspective so was able to provide even better support and encouragement. My instructor was Mr.Teddy, before my road test we went through the road test route so i can be familiar with it and he gave me alot of helpful instructions and made me feel really confident behind the wheel. Fantastic experience: This New Yorker FINALLY got her driver's license at 35! After failing a few times before, DC Star Driving School gave me the skills and confidence to pass my the road test. I had zero driving experience, and Mr. Ish did a phenomenal job teaching me everything I needed to successfully pass the road test, as well as provided great strategies for safe, defensive city-driving. On the day of my exam, Mr. Teddy excellently refreshed me on what I needed to know for the test. With all the great information I obtained from Mr. Ish & Mr. Teddy, I scored a 93% on the driver's assessment! Yay! I would highly recommend this school for anyone looking to learn or enhance their road skills.

Fantastic experience: If there was an option for me to give more than 5 stars, I'd give it. If there were more options available in the section that says, "What I like about this business?" I'd choose them all. So, what am I saying? Options will always be given to us, but it's our choices that make the difference. For me, DC Star was the best choice. The smart choice. And so, they ended up being my only choice. I cannot thank Mr. Ish and Mr. Teddy enough. And I thank God that I made the right choice.

Fantastic experience: I only used their car for my driving test but honestly I wish I had taken lessons from them instead of through the other school! Extremely communicative, punctual and helpful. Mr. Teddy was there with the car and even give me some quick pointers. It was reassuring to have Mr.Teddy there encouraging you before your test (again mind you I had not taken lessons with them)! I would highly recommend them for lessons since based on my very limited experience they were extremely professional, communicative, helpful and nice!

Negative experience: I’ve been taking Mr.ish for a while now and he was very good at first, until last week he started yelling at me and he mad me feel very uncomfortable. This has caused me to switch driving schools

Fantastic experience: Thanks to this driving school I was able to pass my road test today. Mr. Teddy is the man he gave me the tools that I need to become a great driver. I took a hour driving training before my road test. Mr. Teddy made me feel confident and I appreciate it. Mr. Ish has also work with me and he is a wonderful instructor. This is the best driving school in DC hands down.

Before I went to DC Star I haven't been driving a car for 15 years. I decided to take ten hours to refresh my memory and practice driving in the US - and it worked!
