Fantastic experience: Real Deal Driving School is the REAL DEAL!! From the driving lessons to get permit, to picking up my son to take him for his road test and doing a refresher along the way, and great communication during this nerve racking time as a parent. I highly recommend Real Deal! Brittany is absolutely amazing and her father James.

Negative experience: I am shocked to see that this place has such a high rating I suspect they delete all negative reviews. But I had an absolutely terrible experience with Real Deal Driving School, particularly due to James, one of their instructors. His attitude was appalling—rude, condescending, and completely unprofessional. It was as if he couldn’t decide how to treat his students; one moment he’d act somewhat helpful, and the next he’d snap or lash out over minor mistakes. It felt like I was walking on eggshells during every lesson, unsure whether I’d get an ounce of patience or a torrent of unwarranted frustration. James’s mood swings made the entire learning process unnecessarily stressful. He’d go from calm to visibly irritated in seconds, creating an uncomfortable and toxic environment that no student deserves to endure. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, especially for a driving instructor, whose role requires patience and clear communication. I would not recommend Real Deal Driving School to anyone unless they address the serious issue of James’s unprofessionalism. Learning to drive is already challenging enough without having to deal with someone who behaves in such an unpredictable and borderline hostile manner. Save your time, money, and sanity by going elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: My son passed his road test today! Last spring, Real Deal was recommended by another parent from Sayreville. My son was fortunate enough to have James as his intructor. Mr. James taught my son well. Communicated with me what my son needed practice on and so forth. Fast forward to today, i hired Real Deal for their 1 hour refresher and road test service and my son came home with a license! Our experience with James was wonderful. He is "very forward, tell it like it is" guy and i appreciate that greatly. Yes, my son came home previously after his driving hours a bit tattered, but it made him realize that driving is something he needed to take seriously, for his safety and others on the road. I would recommend James to anybody who not only wants to learn how to drive, but how to drive responsibly and safely. Great experience. He is the "Real Deal".

Negative experience: I do not recommend anyone, especially women dealing with this company. I dealt with the driver “James” for my 16yr old daughter’s 6 house and permit. He received the copies of documents needed and $20 for the permit. On the 1st day her driving hours I had gotten very sick & had to reschedule, but couldn’t because was told theirs no other time to go. Thank God my daughter didn’t have to drive in a car with this man. My daughter’s grandmother made the phone call to him and this man was extremely rude and shouting on the phone with my mother. My mother apologized & explained that things sometimes happen we can’t control that, and he was utterly rude and continued yelling. My mother is a 70yr old woman. This man has no type of respect or decency. It’s unacceptable. And finally I received my daughters documents back in the mail, it’s been 2 months now thats how long it took, but refund of the $20 that was given to him. With an incredible excuse. I do not ever pay for a product/item I didn’t receive. Tell company police and terrible man.

Fantastic experience: Brittany was my driving instructor and she was amazing! i was a bit nervous at first but she’s very sweet and helped my nerves calm down. i did two three hour lessons and she brought me on the highway, she helped me with k turns and parallel parking and i also took an hour before refresher before my test and i passed! i definitely recommend using this driving school for first timers, or even just if you need a refresher!! i wish i can give more stars, it was absolutely the best experience! thank you again Brittany!!

James was a huge help when we realized we needed them last minute (the night before) that we needed to borrow one of their cars. He picked her up then next morning and added a lesson before the test. I would DEFINITELY recommend using Real Deal Driving School!

Negative experience: Absolutely do not use this driving school! I had such a bad experience here it actually made me worse at driving. I made it immediately clear that I am an anxious/nervous person and driving was particularly difficult for me. The instructor as many other reviews point out was angry, insulting, rude, and completely inconsiderate. He yelled nonstop and had expectations that I knew exactly what to do, he would hardly instruct to help at all? Literally I would ask him a question and he'd repeat it back like to mock me? Absolute buffoon should have his license to teach revoked. I used the school a few years back but the experience was so absolutely horrible I want to warn future drivers so that I may be able to save at least one person from this maniac. His atrocious attitude and harsh 'style' gave me a literal panic attack, and it's absolutely condemnable that he is allowed to instruct anyone to today. Please, find another school for you and especially for your child if it's a brand new driver. edit - response to 'owner': "I care a lot about my profession and about helping my students learn how to drive. I do my best everyday to make my students feel comfortable while new and nervous to this experience. My number one priority is keeping them safe and caring for their feelings as well. I also do a great job at teaching my students the proper way to drive safely, and I take pride in that." Speak for yourself, absolutely none of this applies for the instructor that I had. "To tell people to not use my school over your instructor you had years ago when there’s other instructors like myself here, is a little “harsh”." Maybe you think you shouldn't employ those other instructors if they are so consistently awful? Obviously if you are the owner and yet not the person who instructed me the solution is a simple one. "The way you are speaking in this review is also harsh" The difference here is that I'm leaving a review on an experience with a business that was so traumatic i felt the need to go back to leave this review, the instructor was in a position of authority and power and yet acted like a child throwing a tantrum "We would have been happy to assist you with that so you could have had a better personal experience." Again, speak for yourself Brittany, you have no idea how the instructor acted when i asked to end the session.. SPOILER he was even angrier and more rude! Shocker, I know! "Just like you are pointing out negative reviews, there’s plenty of positive ones." And yet very few that don't specifically point out you, Brittany, and many of those negative ones do call out a specific instructor. You should absolutely not be in business if you think it's okay to continue to employ such vile, reprehensible people for something like this. "You are welcome to express your feelings, and I am listening. However, to express them in such a hateful, aggressive way years later, is inappropriate. Words like “vile, atrocious, buffoon, traumatic” are intense and the sarcasm from you toward me is not nice. telling me I should not be in business is inappropriate." Surely you see the irony in this statement, right? Considering the subject-matter is how rude and crass this instructor was, I'd say it's absolutely warranted.

Fantastic experience: Amazing driving school ! Brittany was amazing, most patient and polite and professional instructor ever. They made me aware of everything that i need to know about driving during my 6 hours. My 1 hour refresher was sooo worth it. Brittany walked me through everything just like the test and gave me different ways i could remember how to park and drive on my test. Passed my test 1st try with flying colors because of Real Deal. Definitely recommend this driving school !!

Negative experience: The instructor I got kept yelling at me which made me drive worse. Not saying he was a terrible instructor, but his style of teaching definitely didn’t work for me. I’m sure this place has plenty of great instructors however my experience wasn’t good.

Fantastic experience: Words can’t explain how happy I am with James service. We had a huge hiccup with another driving school and screw up with a car not having the emergency brake in center. James got my sons appointment changed to earlier, took our son for the hour refresher class and the road test with their car on Monday Dec 11 2023. And here my son passed his road test with no issues. James was so sincere from the beginning and complemented, that my son was a good driver, even though he’s overcautious. We couldn’t ask for a better instructor to help with the final step of our son to get his license. Will definitely be recommending Real deal driving. Company’s name says it all.

Fantastic experience: My daughter Skylar had James as her instructor and we loved him. He was a regular guy and made her feel comfortable. Her drive took her down hwy 36 which happened to be my dad's favorite drive and I grew up there too so it made it even more special. My daughter is a good driver and the Real Deal made that happen! Brittany was professional, prompt and amswered all my questions As a mom of a 1st time driver and first time going through this, she made sure we understood the state rules and regulations and taught my son all the basics that landed him getting his license in April. Negative experience: I chose this school for my son because it’s in my area, and they have decent reviews. When I made the appointment I stated my son had no prior driving experience. On appointment day, we had the misfortune of having James show up. In the two hours James spent with my son, he was rude, verbally abusive, combative, aggressive, arrogant, ignorant, mean spirited, condescending, berating, belittling, distracted, unpleasant and unhelpful. James should not be permitted to instruct anyone on anything. He definitely should not be showing first time, young adults how to drive. Turns out the decent reviews are about the other instructor. Every negative review (and there are quiet a few) are about James. Unfortunately, the other instructor is forced to address each negative post with apologies for James’ bad behavior. Here’s a thought - how about you recognize he is a menace and stop allowing him to interact directly with your clients? Your time will be better spent handling appointments yourself and not wasted on replying to upset customers with excuses for his horrible personality. Please be warned that I contacted the school afterward to get James’ feedback on how the appointment went and he proceeded to yell at me over the phone. I asked him to refund the money, and he scoffed and said he was not giving me anything back because he taught my son to drive. So don’t be misguided by the other instructor’s assurance that any problems will be addressed in a customer service, friendly way. That’s a lie. There are many driving schools available. I scheduled an appointment with another nearby school, and received excellent and courteous service. I highly recommend you stay away from this school.

Negative experience: I wish I saw these reviews sooner. We had "JS" as an instructor, and he berated the driver (while on the road). Extremely rude individual who should not be teaching people, especially kids, how to drive. This school is going to create anxious drivers on the road.

Fantastic experience: Real Deal Driving School is honestly the best place to go if you want to learn driving skills that will stick with you. I'm an extremely anxious driver, and just got my license at the age of 18. Throughout my time with Brittany, I have been able to build up enough confidence to finally pass my road test. She is extremely kind, yet is able to properly inform you of any mistakes you make--and offers ways to fix them. I'm convinced that I'd be moving onto my fifth re-take of my road test if I went to any other driving school. Also, Real Deal Driving School has extremely good prices for the services they provide! As a broke college student, it's really nice to only spend $60 per hour lesson. I was able to get a bunch of lessons in before my road test, which definitely helped me pass--and I didn't have to go broke to do so! Overall, I'm extremely happy with how I was treated by Brittany. I'm glad I chose this school, and will be practicing my hand-over-hand (...maybe).

Fantastic experience: I am rating this solely on the customer service experience I had as unfortunately they were booked out further than I needed. I had called the school and spoke with James who had called me back promptly. I had an issue with another school who closed suddenly but had all of my paperwork. I was extremely upset and worried as to what was going to happen to my daughters permit. After James explained he didn’t have any openings, he still stayed on the line with me and went over the process, what I can do to resolve it and even helped me with finding another school, and this was all with him knowing I couldn’t book with him. On this experience alone I would highly recommend this school and will definitely keep them in mind when it’s time for her road test.

Fantastic experience: Brittany was amazing. I was very happy with this school and their teaching methods. Both my sons had Brittany and she was very patient and an excellent instructor. I would highly recommend this school.

Fantastic experience: This driving school takes initiative in helping you learn to drive, know the road, and be entirely comfortable in the car. I just passed my road test recently and the school helped me be prepared to take it. I’d recommend this driving school to anyone as it helped me learn and improve in the time that I needed to and made me a better driver. Brittany was an amazing instructor 10/10

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough about Real Deal Driving school. If you're looking for an amazing driving school with awesome instructors Real deal is the place to go. We called last March for my twin sons to start their 6 hours from the first phone call Brittany and her dad where so helpful. They walked me through everything. My sons were so nervous about the whole process but the minute they got in the car with Brittany the nerves were gone. My sons loved working with Brittany. She made them feel comfortable and confident behind the wheel. They said she was very easy to talk to and made it easier to learn. Any questions the boys or I had we could reach out to Brittany and she would have the answer. She was extremely helpful. They completed their 6 hours and we booked the refresher course and road test with her. During the time leading up to the road test she kept in touch with me and my sons. She texted them little tips on how to do things and what to practice. By her doing all this it made my sons feel confident going for their road test. My sons just took the road test yesterday they both passed with flying colors. Thanks to Brittany and Real Deal Driving. She was amazing during the whole process. I'm so happy and thankful for all she has done for my sons and I! I will be booking again with Real Deal Driving when my other son turns 16. I would 1000% recommend booking with Real Deal.

Negative experience: This organization is an atrocity. The things they said to my nephew, during his course, should be grounds for termination. HOW DARE they use scare tactics to teach a CHILD how to drive safely. To say "your mother and father are the reason you'll kill someone in an accident" makes me sick to my stomach. DO NOT GIVE ORGANIZATION ANY OF YOUR MONEY!

Fantastic experience: If you are looking for a high quality driving school and fantastic customer service, Real Deal Driving School is the place to go. From the first call to the drivers test, James and Brittany were so helpful. They made the entire process easy. Not to mention Real Deal is affordable compared to other driving schools in the area that couldn't meet the needs of our hectic schedule to get the six hours completed. My daughter loved working with Brittany, and said she felt safe and prepared to take the road test. Today, she passed her road test with flying colors and I feel comfortable knowing she has the skills needed to drive safely.

Negative experience: If I can give a MINUS review I would. There are A LOT of driving schools. Future students, do yourself a favor and go to another school where you'll get professional customer service. Take a moment, and see the owner's reply, and be your own judge. I called the school today, and the man who answered the call, was rude and disrespectful. He literally hung up on me while I was giving him my information to sign up. Future students be ware when calling this place. If you want to be disrespected, then go ahead. Here's my full review. This was the worst customer service I had to experience. I went in to call because I wanted to enroll for driving lessons. This man was being aggressive and didn’t let me finish what I started. When I go ahead and put in my info, he goes what town is this and I say the town and all that. Next thing you know when I was giving the number to call me, he was like I’m not taking u and hangs up. And I’m standing in complete disgust to what I had to hear for the last 5 minutes with him. I was completely disgusted by what I heard and experienced. Please do not consider going to this place for driving lessons because this is unprofessional and unacceptable. Save your money and don’t bother calling

Fantastic experience: Back in July 2021 I did my 6 hours with Brittany. She made me feel really comfortable during my first time on the road and guided me the entire time. I had my drivers test last week and had booked a last minute refresher and she had once again, made availability for me and made me feel confident to take my road test the next day. Brittany is such a kind person who really knows how to make sure you’re feeling confident and ready to be on the road. I would 1000% recommend booking with Real Deal. She is so amazing and I am so thankful for all she did for me!

Fantastic experience: I started driving with Brittany and February for my road test in April. Could not have done it without her! She puts you at ease behind the wheel, correcting you calmly. She takes note of what you need to work on individually. She gave me tips which helped me pass my road test the first time around! It’s all thanks to her. You will not find a better person, school, or price for what you get! You won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend taking classes with this driving school. The instructor was patient, professional and informative. She displayed lots knowledge to help understand the driving skills and process to obtain a license. All questions and concerns were answered in completeness. Fantastic experience: This driving school is amazing! I just got my six hours done with Brittany and it was the more comfortable experience ever! I've always felt threatened trying to learn how to drive, but they are AMAZING teachers...I'm not even kidding, I learned how to parallel park in 10 minutes! As a student, I can tell you their help is worth it, not only does it make driving feel easier, the paperwork is also taken care of and an easy transition. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to get their six hours done!
