I recommend renting car from here for your test cause they allow you to book 1 hr just before your test in 50$ extra which is really helpful as a warm up.

Initially, I attended a different driving school, but it was not helpful at all. They didn’t teach me the skills I needed for my behind-the-wheel test. Fortunately, a friend recommended Habesha Driving School, and I only wish I had discovered this exceptional school sooner. The staff at Habesha Driving School is incredibly kind, patient, instructive, respectful, friendly, and supportive. I had the pleasure of learning from two outstanding instructors, Mr. Guy and Mr. Dawit, and thanks to their guidance, I passed my test on the first try. Negative experience: This driving school is very unprofessional. It's very difficult to get in touch with anyone. The payment process is unclear, with no follow-up billing (or reminders) if you choose the two-payment option and no method to pay on the company website. They changed the dates of my son's classroom portion at the last minute (and didn't even properly notify us - just an auto-generated appointment reminder with a new date, nearly a month later), and the behind-the-wheel portion was inadequate (with one instructor telling him he didn't need driving practice and ending the two-hour session in less than an hour). The staff is rude and unresponsive (including the owner Endale, though he seems to respond to/argue with every negative google review). Go somewhere else, even if it's more expensive—this place isn't worth the hassle and frustration. And if you're solely relying on a driving school to learn, you won't get anywhere with these guys. **No one attempted to get in touch with us for payment (or anything else). No calls, voice messages, texts, or emails. Sessions are booked through an automated system that sends reminders only of appointments from a "noreply" email address.**

Negative experience: Money grab. The service is pretty sloppy. The only good people are 2 BTW driving instructors. I had issues with the online school as the lady instructor was bad at engaging the class as well

Fantastic experience: If you are looking for a good driving school in the area, I highly recommend you choose this school! All the instructors are super helpful and they are all so nice, and very flexible when it comes to scheduling classes, especially when it comes to a busy work schedule. Because of this school, I was able to pass my driving test! I highly, highly recommend choosing this school, once again!

Negative experience: Inconsistent and partly wrong instructions for skills exam preparation.

Positive experience: It's a good driving school, but i have seen a lot of mistakes that couldn't be pass a small thing, #1 Habesha spring driving school are not well organized with the instructors which means they changed my appointment 3 4 times in a week, I made an appointment based on what they put on their website and at a time that was convenient for me, but they were often changing my appointment time to late hours, doing inappropriate work, or they don't have to promote students until they had enough teachers. At they need to be more & more organized. #2 The teacher named Mr. Elie can't be a driving instructor. In my opinion, I don't know about the other students, but he doesn't feel responsible when he teaches. He sleeps in the car while teaching and when he is teaching, he shouts in a very disturbing and uncomfortable way. He bangs on the window. He threatens and talks unnecessarily things. To be honest I swear He told me that he will beat me in the next time if i make a mistake he have to consider i am a new driver & who is he after all to do this & say those words to me he is an irresponsible teacher who says unnecessary things that make students uncomfortable. This is not only for me, but for all those who are planning to study here and who are studying i won't prefer you to have Mr.Elie as an instructor don't go anywhere with him as a student, as a beginner i may do a mistake so he have to understand & consider the situation inshorthes is so careless & not kind to his student, i will rate him 1 out-of 10. Butoverall i wanna thank you all the stuff for teaching me this 3 days.

Negative experience: The entire driving School system is a centralized for-profit mechanism created by the DMV. This one is no different, with little professionalism for the online school. Even though 60 hours is needed, and classes start at 5: 30pm, most of the lessons actually only began by 6:00 or 6:30 p.m.. Today, for example, the instructor never showed up and there was no notification given to the students before or even during the class. To suggest that students need to make up the class on their own time despite already scheduling these classes out of their lives is also disrespectful and unprofessional. I am very surprised by the great reviews. Hopefully we have just had bad luck.

Positive experience: Good customer care service. Had a wonderful 3 hour Drug and Alcohol knowledge class yesterday and the quiz. Today I collected my certificate of completion. Mr. Endale at the office is very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: I cannot be happier with my experience with Habesha Driving School. I've had most of my lessons with both Sadio and Dawit. Both of them are great: very calm, great teachers, and fun to ride with at the same time. Give great instructions and very useful tips for driving. The whoile process of the driver skills exam was well explained and even showed beforehand. Thanks to this school, I got my license first try and without any difficulties!

Negative experience: As I see car advertised for this driving school doing down 29 about 60 mph weaving in and out of traffic I wouldn’t dare want my own teenager wanting lessons from this place. Weather that was teacher or student driving the car they weren’t driving safely at all. I took a pic of the car so I have the plates and Name of company. Really bad impression.

Negative experience: Instructions were not clear. Arrived to school and was told to go to the MVA. Once there, I was told the driver was in a black car. I could not identify what black car. Waited 30 min and left. Was expecting clear communication and a company car instead of an unmarked black car to leave my 16 year old. Requested a refund with Daleit Gebreselasie. Was told I would receive a call back in an hour. Never received a call that day or the next day. Called 2 days later and was told the owner will not issue a refund. Complain filed with the better business bureau and charges disputed with my bank given the company was unwilling to work directly with me. I can not recommend this driver’s school to anyone.

I was a horrible parker but after one lesson with him I passed my driving test on the first try. I’m very grateful for this school and thankful I came.

Negative experience: This place is bad. The building looks run down, the service is really bad. They waste about 30 minutes doing "important things". A family member of mine only had 1hr of driving when it was originally supposed to be 1hr and 30 minutes. I don't reccomend this place.

Fantastic experience: Had a very positive experience with them. I accidentally scheduled my behind the wheel driving lessons for a month later than I intended. They went out of their way to reschedule me even though they had been booked up for the month. Dawit was my instructor and he gave me a clear view of the test requirements and I passed. Would recommend driving with your instructor to do the test. Is an extra charge but helped me greatly.

Fantastic experience: After failing my driving test with another school, I went online and lo and behold I found this school (Habesha) in Silver Spring. It was 3 minutes walk from where I live Downtown. I called immediately and I spoke to Endale and I booked an appointment and I went to see him that same evening. He helped me out and after just an hour behind the wheel.. I went back to the MVA to take my test! He was very kind and patient and worked my crazy schedule to help me out. He booked my appointment for me and I didn’t have to lift a finger. I am very grateful to him and Habesha driving School.

Negative experience: Don't take 3-Hr Alcohol and Durg program at this school, it won't issue you a control number. Since I asked them if they will issue a control number, and they didn't reply me. After I took the program and paid, they still don't understand what control number is. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE !

Fantastic experience: Before I came to Habesha Driving School, I was a nervous wreck. It had been 5 years since i had taken the road test, failed and my confidence was shot, I didn't believe I could do this for a long time. When I first started with Endale, he was calm with me. I had a bad experience with another driving school in Kensington, Easy Method Driving, where the teacher told me "I would never pass the driving test with my skills" because I kept making mistakes in parking, front and back So it was a breath of fresh air to be taught by Endale, he really is a good teacher, the main thing that stood out to me was he taught me that mistakes are natural, and be fixed, that i don't need to be perfect and I can handle those mistakes when they come up We actively practiced for 4 -6 hours i believe and, he would be there at my house to pick me up , we'd go to the parking lot and practice, he would never shout, but only gently correct my mistakes this did wonders for my skill level and my mind which was still unsure if i could do it Now today 3/2/21 I passed my drivers test, all those hours with Endale paid off and his instructions were vital on the test that i took today If you want a calm and relaxing driving school experience and you want to learn without getting stressed if a teacher is going to scold you, this is not a problem here You'll learn exactly how to drive in calm in the environment and that will help you learn the driving skills you need to pass your test even if you haven't passed the drivers test before and are unsure of yourself as i have

Fantastic experience: UPDATE (7/21/21): Today I passed my driving test after signing up for extra behind the wheel training in addition to the 6 hours practice already provided by the school. Even though you pay extra, it’s an investment in yourself to gain the confidence you need for the road test. My instructor was Kaleab, I told him I needed to pass the road test, and he did exactly that - help me improve my driving and get ready for the test. Today I’m so happy to say I passed!! If you want to get a drivers license with no stress, look no further than Habesha. Excellent experience going from novice to confident driver with the help of this school! The online zoom classes were easy to understand and interactive. The behind the wheel training was very helpful, and the instructors are patient and very knowledgeable. I can't thank the school enough for preparing for the roads. Special shoutout to instructor Sadio who was very patient, and gave me step by step instructions on how to prepare for the MVA driving test, and ensured that I was perfect before being satisfied with my parking.

Negative experience: I registered my son in " I drive smart" driving school to get his permission and practices behind the wheel. Everything was smooth with practices and responsible drivers but a little pricy. Before the exam, I registered my son for two hours in the Bethesda branch of "Habasha Spring Driving school." After receiving two phone calls from the driver to change the schedule, we finally set a time. My son had two hours' practice, and he was complaining that the driver was all two hours on his phone, and he just pointed with his head which way I should go. Honestly, I believe most reviews with 5 or 4 stars are fake, and these guys are not responsible for our children to teach them something valuable. Find another place if you pay a little more.

Negative experience: My daughter completed the course/behind the wheel with them recently. During the first behind the wheel session, the instructor went to sleep. For the second session, they cancelled the session 29 minutes before the appointment. We were already almost there. The next session was about 45 minutes, instead of the two hours scheduled. Finally, they never forwarded the paperwork to the DMV and when she went to get her license she was informed she couldn't. Habesha said "sorry for the inconvenience". She still doesn't have her license because of the amount of time it takes to get an appointment during these times. They were terrible!

As soon as I came to Habesha Driving school, Endale, taught me everything I needed to know to learn how to drive. They taught me not only to pass, but also to master driving.
