Defensive Driving School of Monroe

Fantastic experience: I am from Australia, and had not driven for more than 10 years, and never driven on the right-hand side of the road. So I was quite hesitant about getting back on the road. I used Defensive Driving School for both my knowledge test prep and my skills test. Knowledge test prep was great - and online course that you can take a few times before going in to sit the test. I passed in one attempt. For the skills test, I booked two lots of double lessons and then the test in the same week. My instructor, Isaac, was incredible! He thoroughly prepared me for the skills test, honing in on my weak points, and helping me work through them. Isaac is everything you want in an instructor- knowledgeable, good natured, quick to point out something you've done wrong, but in a way that is constructive and not admonishing or judgmental. He is also just a great guy to talk to while driving around. With just a week's prep, I passed my driving test with 98 out of a 100. Thanks, Isaac!

Fantastic experience: Issah was a wonderful teacher to my daughter. I rode on most of her drives and he taught me so much about the city of Monroe while teaching my daughter very well! Highly recommend!!!

Fantastic experience: I did a 30 minute drive then a license testing with Isaac who was really great on helping me through the practice, which led me pass the driven test with confidence. Definitely is a great place to get your licensing stuff done.

Fantastic experience: I took a one hour driving class followed by the final test at Monroe defensive driving school with instructor Isaac. The class was very informative and taught me a lot of relevant stuff required for the test. I passed the test. Great location, great instructor, great learning experience.

Negative experience: I wanted adult learning driving class and they say no there is none. Then I read these other people whom are older who were allowed to go to classes. Wft. So I had to just like do the knowledge test and I keep on missing it by 1 question 4 times now... I call other schools like this one and their the same. Like don't people from another country need classes too? I'm American though but like I have reading disabilities so taking the test and reading the worthless dmv book is hard enough. Like this state against disabled people too. Why does reading have to do with DRIVING a car. Besides the point... why can't I get a lesson class whiles others can...

Fantastic experience: I am an older new driver who had zero relevant or recent experience behind the wheel who paid for twelve one hour classes. I had some early issues with scheduling online on my own, as the system is calibrated towards a younger crowd that have to follow specific laws about driving (one hour limit to every 48 hours). However, customer service was quick to answer and quick to assist. My instructor was Isaac Hanna, and I cannot speak to the quality of the other instructor(s) that work there. I also did not take any in-person classes or my knowledge test at the school. Isaac is an EXCELLENT teacher. Explanations are simple and effective, easy to understand and most importantly: specific and safe. Very personable and attentive, and equally importantly he is as calm as a rock. These factors are all extremely important because if a student detects stress in their teacher, that stress transmits and impacts your ability to drive and learn. Being specific is important, because vague instructions will leave you wondering what to do and leave room for error. It's important to be able to get along with your teacher, because if you dread getting into the car with them then it's going to hard to learn. But most importantly he will NOT put you on the road if he thinks you could be a danger to yourself or others. The younger students might only care about passing, but I specifically cared about being safe, and I am glad I chose this school, location, and teacher because I am not only confident now that I can drive myself, but I'm confident I can safely drive with others in the vehicle as well. He helped me form good habits and called out every bad habit he saw developing. Isaac probably saved mine or someone else's life. Absolutely wonderful driving school and I cannot recommend it enough.

Positive experience: The teachers were helpful and brilliant teachers. They are some of the best in the business at teaching the law as the law is. This isn't 5-star because 5 is perfection and nothing in existence is perfect, nonetheless the school and staff are effective and skilled. I also conduct and participate in a number of different activities on a regular basis. The schedule available was perfect and fit right in. Had it not been for this school, I would've had to give something up in order to learn how to drive, and as important as the skill is, it is very difficult to give up something you've been doing for a long time.

Negative experience: my experience in this place was one of the worst I had just lost my got the 80 dollars I paid we booked this in spanish and when I got there the structure speaks nothing in spanish made it difficult because I got nervous and when I came I was at a speed of 30 and he said I was speeding so he didn't approve of me but when it was time to leave my run kicked my run door

Fantastic experience: All the teachers and everyone is super nice. Not as strict as the website makes it seem. I live in Duvall and have heard Puget Sound Driving Academy is terrible. Really enjoy is and is highly recommended. One thing that is kind of scary is when Isaac “fakes” a crash for fun, I personally thought it was funny but some people won’t, so be prepared for that.
