Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience with my instructor, she was very nice and patient with me and I never got nervous to drive with her. She was very supportive and descriptive with her way of teaching. The service at the front desk was also amazing. All staff are very nice and welcoming and informative. She also was very helpful right before i took my road test and with her support i past so thank you!! :)

Negative experience: This company is someone to stay away from. I was in traffic on Rte 3 west bound in February 2023. One of their student drivers along with a driving instructor rolled back into my car causing over $4000 in damage. As I pulled in front of them to tell them to pull over to the shoulder they kept on driving on Rte 3 west. I immediately called the Police but the dept told me they were extremely busy and since no one was hurt to make a accident report online. I notified the office Manager Alicia and told them what happened. The instructor and student driver told her they were at that location and did not understand what I was saying because they spoke Spanish. I notified my insurance carrier which took over this hit an run accident. After over 9 months Alicia claimed that the damage done to my vehicle could not have happened by their back truck bumper which is totally false. They refused to provide my insurance carrier with their insurance carrier. I am now out $500 for my deductible and 7 days of a rental car. This company could have did the right thing and settled the claim but they refused to do the right thing and dragged this out for 9 months claiming they were not at fault. Stay away from this company as they seem not to care about the regular people and think they can deny wrong doing. Louis DeStefano

Negative experience: DON’T RECOMMEND FOR YOUR CHILDREN/TEENAGER KIDS Driving place helped my younger sibling drive. However it did lack guidance (driver instructor would take the wheel or break for the majority of practice) and communication (driver instructor would call VERY LAST MINUTE when outside, only ONCE called 15 minutes in advance. This made my sibling stress out and felt like they learned nothing from the service. And when the day of the test comes, after two months of no communication, driver instructor called they were outside for early test they had no idea about. If they called at least 30-15 minutes it would’ve helped, or even a day in advance to let my sibling get a heads up how the day of the test will be. However, the place doesn’t prioritize the people who’s giving them money. And it didn’t made it better when my sibling had to cancel. The driving school called and made the situation 1000000x worse. Horrible anger issues, horrible attitude. Super unprofessional. Lack any empathy or to help with the situation and just said over and over again to pay 70 dollars more to keep the spot. The place showed its true colors. Regret recommending my sibling coming here because last year it went well for me. This place relies heavily on recommendations, so I really do suggest not coming here and finding another place for your son/daughter.

Fantastic experience: My experience with Ideal Driving school was rewarding. All the personnel were friendly and the course was explained to me in great detail. The office team at the Clifton location prepared me well for my CDL school bus license written exam, along with the road training staff at Moonachie that gave me thorough training & coaching. Once we arrived to my motor vehicle road test at Wayne DMV, I entered with confidence and passed on the first try. Thank you Ideal team!

Gracias a ėl y su orientation en primer lugar obtuve la licencia regular, luego de un tiempo la CDL. Luego fui como mi hijo mayor para que le dieran el entremaniento para sacar la licencia regular y tambien obtuvo su licencia; despues fui con mi esposa y tambien obtuvo su licencia. Los instructores son excelentes, les recomiendo que soliciten a Yadira, te explica todo lo que debes saber en cuanto a conducir se requiere y sin dudas para en el aňo entrante voy con mi hija para que la entrenen para que obtenga su licencia

Negative experience: Le daría 10 estrellas a Yadira q fue la persona q le dio las clases a mi hijo, muy linda persona , pero desafortunadamente el hombre q atiende el teléfono en la oficina de Clifton no merece ni media estrella, es grosero, no tiene paciencia con el cliente , atiende muy mal el teléfono, cuando le dije q era muy maleducado para atender el cliente me gritó, me insultó , y veo muchos comentarios negativos de su trato, el Sr necesita capacitación para tratar el cliente y terapia para manejo de ira . Lamentablemente por el NUNCA RECOMENDARÍA la escuela .

Negative experience: Learned everything on my own, Carlos literally left me by myself to “figure it out” as he went to fix his car. Every-time I went in there was someone new teaching me. G was the only one that I learned anything from, he is the only caring instructor there.

Negative experience: I wished I saw the bad reviews prior to signing up for a Class A training., If I could give 0 starts I would. This training cost over $4,000 dollars. The owner Alissia She takes advantage the most from the people that come from unemployment. If you value your efforts hard work and money DO NOT WASTE IT coming to this SCHOOL. Alissia will take your money steal your training hours & not allow you to complete training if she feels like it. Extremely inconsiderate, evil demeanor, disrespectful & she will mock you and make a joke out of any bad situation you may be experiencing and is decieving to say the least. She treats people horribly as if she’s above them because she’s the owner. after she received money for training she doesn’t care about the students and will make any excuses to withdraw you from training.

Negative experience: In my experience, this school was disappointing. When I approached them for information, the person in charge treated me poorly, showing a lack of respect. It felt like they judged me negatively for being unemployed. I distinctly recall being told that if I paid differently, the attitude would change. My suggestion is to steer clear of this school.

Negative experience: The people were friendly which is always good. Antiquated system of teaching. They handed me a dvd and told me I had to study the video and then go on the range. Instructors were great, but the only reason I passed was because ive been driving trucks since I was a kid. While waiting to test with the examiner on the day of the exam, every single person before me failed which got me extremely nervous. Ended up passing. Once I was done I had an ideal instructor come over and ask me for a testimony. I lied on camera and said it was a great school just to get him out of my face, but please do yourself a favor and dont go here.

Positive experience: Me gustó mucho el profesionalismo con el que nos explicó el Sr.Jaime Rivera , nos dio buenas opciones de paquetes, bueno después regresaré para decirles cómo se portaron los maestros y los instructores .

Negative experience: Horrible experience all around. I paid $4000 for a 30hr package that includes 3 road test. Failed 2 times and they wanted to charge me an additional $350 to take the test a 3rd time. Decided to go another route & paid another $1400 to a different school. Finally got my CDL A no thanks to them. Jaime the manager is the worst of everyone there. Invited me to go to the office and fight. Tried so hard to stay reasonable with them all. It seems the bad influence stems from the top because everyone in the office has no respect once they see your not happy with them! I really expected at least 1 person to understand my point of view and make it right instead it was nothing but ignorance from every employee!

Negative experience: Horrible people. My husband paid $4000 for thei CDL A coarse that in 3 road test. After failing 2 times they wanted to charge an additional $350 for his 3rd attempt. he finally passed with a different school after paying $1400 because he just didn’t want to deal with them anymore! The manager Jaime invited him to go and fight him. Very uncivilized people.

Negative experience: The IDEAL driving school company is a company that does not act correctly. I went to get my CDL for a large school bus, you have to understand that not all companies offer this service. I was very clear when I told them that I needed it by large bus, they told me that they had it, there was no problem, the value was $3,600, I paid it in cash all the amount , at that moment, and when I returned to take my classes, I went into the office of Mrs. Alicia (manager of the place) and she told me that they did not have large school bus that they had a small bus but that I could take my exam on the small bus and then take another exam on a large commercial bus but this would imply more money I told her that I was not going to pay more money than what we could do if she was I agree with that, it was that I could take my classes with the bus company I work for because they had big buses and they offered me to train me for my driving test, she had no problem I took with IDEAL certificates that were demanding motor and vehicles after February 2, 2022 when I was ready for my driving test I went to the office to check that everything was ready for this day Alicia printed me my certificate she made me look at the computer that I was already registered but with the great surprise that when I went to my driving test they told me in motors and vehicles that I have no record of any driving company I registered, I called Mrs. Alicia to ask her what had happened and she told me that she can't give me that certificate because she didn't give me my classes, that is, I wasted my time and my money because of this company, they are too irresponsible, taking advantage of the new norm that motors and vehicles get, they made a lot of money with this new law taking advantage of us in short I managed to get my license through my work thanking God that they made me a record when they saw that this company stole my money Thank you very much IDEAL I recommend NOT using this company they are a joke la compañía IDEAL driving school es una compañía que no actúa correctamente yo fui a sacar mi CDL para bus escolar grande hay que entender que no todas las compañías ofrecen este servicio yo fui muy clara al decirles que lo necesitaba en bus grande, ellos me dijeron que si lo tenían que no había ningún problema que el valor era $3600 yo los pagué en Cash, en ese mismo momento y cuando regresé a tomar mis clases entré a la oficina de la señora Alicia (gerente del lugar ) y me dice que ellos no tenían bus escolar grande que tenían bus pequeño pero que podía hacer mi examen en el bus pequeño y luego tomar otro examen en bus grande comercial pero esto implicaría más dinero yo le dije que yo no iba a pagar más dinero que lo que podíamos hacer si ella estaba deacuerdo con eso era que yo podía tomar mis clases con la compañía de bus que yo trabajo porque ellos tenían buses grandes y me ofrecieron ellos mismos entrenarme para mi examen de manejo ella no tuvo ningún problema yo tomé con IDEAL los certificados que estaba exigiendo motores y vehículos luego del 2 de febrero de 2022 cuándo yo ya estaba lista para mi examen de manejo fui a la oficina a chequear que todo estuviera listo para este día ella me imprimió mi certificado me hizo mirar en la computadora que ya estaba registrada pero con la gran sorpresa que cuando fui a mi examen de manejo me dicen en motores y vehículos que yo no tengo ningún registro de ninguna compañía de manejo me registro, llamo a la señora Alicia a preguntarle qué había pasado y me dice que ella no me puede dar ese certificado porque ella no me dio mis clases o sea que yo perdí mi tiempo mi dinero por parte de esta compañía son demasiado irresponsables aprovechándose de la nueva norma que motores y vehículos saco, ellos sacaron mucho dinero con esta nueva ley aprovechándose de nosotros resumiendo yo logré sacar mi licencia por medio de mi trabajo dando gracias a Dios que ellos me hicieron un registro al ver que esta compañía robó mi dinero muchísimas gracias IDEAL recomiendo NO utilizar esta compañía son una payasada

Negative experience: Please do your research. DO NOT I MEAN DO NOT sign up. They will promise you everything and really come up short. I’m out of a $1K and they will not even try to work it out. Don’t even bother calling the level of sarcasm and condescending tone is not at professional level. Why didn’t I go to Jersey Tractor Trailer Training. Do yourself a favor research both and then compare the difference it will be worth it but if you want to lose $1K go to Ideal.

Negative experience: Primero que nada una mala experiencia por un error de esta escuela perdí mi cita de mi examen de manejo, tome clases con ellos para que me llevaran a mi examen hace una semana hice mi cita y enfrente de mis ojos escribieron mi nombre en su agenda y me dicen que debo llegar a las 8:00am a la oficina por qué debo de practicar 30min antes de mi test que era a las 9:00am en Wayne, yo llego a las mismas 8:00am a la oficina y el señor llega ala oficina a las 9:05am y le digo que qué pasó que tenía mi examen a las 9:00 y me dice que no que mi nombre no está en su agenda cuando el va y checa mi nombre estaba quitado de su agenda mi nombre, lo único que el se le ocurrió es decir o disculpa hubo un error de aquí lo único que debes hacer es otra cita… Que buena excusa me da “ ERROR DE ELLOS” cero profesionalismo que poca que jueguen con el tiempo de la gente y sobre todo sabiendo que una cita no se consigue de la noche a la mañana… Tengan mucho cuidado que no les pase lo mismo que ami por un error de Ellos…

Fantastic experience: My instructor Hansel was very polite, gave me a couple of tips for me.to follow the day of my test. I used their service before with my daughter and she passed her road test on her first try. Hopefully I will do the same.

Negative experience: I called this school to register for classes the man that answered the phone was short with every question I asked he told me to come to the school to register I got there 20 minutes before closing they refused to see me and I came from 40 minutes away...i decided to try again against my better judgement ..i went early and when I got there 2 gentleman were extremely rude to me and my husband ...i really thought it was because I was a female that they were rude but since they were rude to my husband ...i realized they were just rude in general ...its a shame because they don't know what people are going through in their lives to just be nasty ....I hope they improve their customer service and make the necessary improvements....no one deserves that kind of treatment

Negative experience: Mi hermana estudio ahí para hacer el examen escrito, y una respuesta que tienen por buena en realidad esta mal. Otra cosa hoy 15 de Feb a la 1:00 pase a preguntar por que los había considerado para hacer mi examen de manejo, y un tipo delgado de lentes y pelo corto me atendió de mala gana, le dije q no tenia el permiso porque venia de hacerme el examen de la vista a lo cual el respondió todo desalentador que si no tenía el permiso no podía ayudarme, a lo cual dije que precisamente a eso venía, a informarme en lo q lo obtenía. Se dio cuenta de su error y ya iba yo por la puerta yendo de salida. No se como tienen a gente así en la recepción no les doy más mala calificación porque no se puede

Negative experience: The worst place you could go for a CDL. Once they get your money, every time you need anything or they mess up your schedule and you complain, they'll have you speak to some guy they have there who is very sneaky and Rude. They will treat you like they already got your money and now they're doing you a favor. Their other offices are really good though and not this way.

Negative experience: Pay attention to the reviews on here. The customer service really is terrible. I called to get some CDL information and was told I had to go to the location to discuss details. Drove to Elizabeth and the location was closed. Called in and was told I had to go to the Clifton location and wasn’t provided an address. Fine. Drove 30 mins to clifton the next day and was told they wouldn’t speak to me without having a mask. I explained that I just lost my last mask and just drove 30 mins. I asked if they had a spare and the guy said no to come back when I get a mask. So congratulations $4000 just walked out of your door just because you couldn’t find a simple way to have a conversation when you already had a mask on and was behind a glass. Don’t waste your time w these people. It’s obviously not worth it.

Negative experience: My son was supposed to be picked up at 10:30am for 1/2 hour practice and road test. His road test was 11:30am. At 10:35 I tried calling Ideal to make sure someone was coming but I got a busy signal for 20 minutes straight. We assumed he wasn’t getting picked up at this point. At 11:02 I get a call at work, even though I provided my son’s number and was told he was outside. I reminded him that my son's test was 11:30 and he’s supposed to have 1/2 hour practice. He agreed but of course my son was already at DMV before 11:30 and didn’t get to really practice what he needed, parking! And they still charged for the 1/2 hour practice. I would not recommend this place to anyone..

Fantastic experience: I just passed my cdl. I recommend this school because l came from another school after l couldn’t pass with them. In ideal driving school they have good instructors both named Angel and they both were trying teach as much as possible. They have 6 speed transmission on the truck. That’s a huuuge deal, much easier than 10 speed no grinding, no coasting. My earlier school was waste of time and money. Honestly l didn’t come to this school because of their ratings were much lower. But than l come here after failing first time. Also l guess my first school has fake reviews and thats the way they keep their ratings high. (4.8)

The worst driving school ever . Can never recommend the school the to anyone. Though the guys at Paterson office are the best but the Clifton office is a big joke.

Negative experience: Terrible customer service lady I spoke to on the phone to cancel my driving class was very rude about it. I was very shocked on how she was hired because it was very disrespectful the way she answered back at me when I had asked very politely! I took a class here the instructor was very rude and looked like he hated his job. I took a class somewhere else and realized this school DID NOT teach me how to drive CORRECTLY. Please pick another school this one is definitely not worth your money!

Fantastic experience: Mi experiencia con ésta compañía fue increíble, desde la persona que coje el teléfono hasta las personas que me dieron las prácticas. Yadira la persona con mas paciencia que he conocido, su empeño y positivismo para que todo saliera bien, siempre pendiente y empeñada para que aprendiera, con muy buena técnica,con solo tres clases tomadas. El día de mi examen me mandan a Freddy, este joven que cuando lo vi pensé, que experiencia en manejo podría tener este jovencito? Me sorprendió, excelente chofer, preciso, sabe muy bien lo que hace, OJO les recomiendo mucho a este joven. Gracias a ellos tengo mi licencia.

Fantastic experience: Ideal driving school Was the absolutely best choice ever. (My instructor Freddy is the best!) Aced my road exam, definitely Highly recommend ✅

Negative experience: Instructor was on the phone during majority of the time, they treat you as “without me and you using my vehicle then you’re nothing”, honestly the staff is just disgusting. I don’t recommend anyone going here unless if you have no problem being treated like dirt. I recommend everyone to go find some other place than this amateur and unprofessional “School” because honestly, this is a joke and the instructor forgot somethings to teach me and I had to remind them.

Negative experience: Horrible customer service some guy I believe to be the one in charge talks to you like your getting the service for free when in reality your paying them ... horrible

Negative experience: Rude and disrespectful customer service when I called and asked for prices and just general questions and he hangs up on me before I can even book the date and time

Fantastic experience: yeo my boii freddy he the best out here tbh.. i just took the road and i pass 1st try.. when you scheduled a appointment ask for freddy he’ll teach you everything in 2 hour

Fantastic experience: I past my Driving test today!!! Instructor Hugo taught me well, he is one of the best instructors. I highly recommend him, specially if you are afraid of driving or you can get easily nervous. He is very calm and easy going, so even if you just want to sharp your driving skills once you pass the test, make sure to reach out to him.

Negative experience: I gave two starts because their teacher Victor is really great teacher, I had a class with him it was good but whenever I call the office for scheduling the guy who picked up the phones is so rude and you have to discuss with him for anything if you would like to get appointment. I want to get class more because of this rude guy I don’t wanna call them. Bad service, bad customer relations!!!! Please find someone else if not you gonna lose more customers!!

Fantastic experience: Fred has taking me to my road test and I passed. I've been depressed and very stressed out but he has really helped me stay calm with words of encouragement and helping me improve my driving skills. Achieving my license has put me in a better state of mind and I'm glad I made the decision to have Fred as my instructor.

Negative experience: Very unprofessional the way they talk to you on the phone. I called on 5/11/19 the guy was nasty and screamed at me like I did something wrong.

Negative experience: The MOST disrespectful, angry, unprofessional customer service I have ever encountered in any industry within the Tri-State area. This place must be making a ton of money because they have NO respect for the customer. I asked if they have a straight truck and how much hourly. The kid who answered the phone tells me I MUST pay first to find out the availability. I asked him to clarify what he said to me and told him I want to know if any classes would be aviavaila in the next coming days. That's ALL I asked. Not the time, nor specific date, just will they have any availability within the next 3 days . He responded to me by saying: Call somewhere else. WTH? I called back and an older gentleman answered and explained to me what's required. I said to him "I completely understand. That makes 100% sense". He said "Sir you must he having a bad day". I tell him NO I am agreeing with you. He says it again. I said to him I am a woman. Then he says "Why don't you go see Charlie in Union City at our other location". These people are completely UNPROFESSSIONAL and hard of hearing or plain out ignorant.

Negative experience: Even one star is too much for thi school. Receptions man was horrible. He talked with as very rude that's why we even didn't try that school. Instead of that we get Universal Driving School.
