Fantastic experience: Good classes and teachers

Fantastic experience: I took courses with this company at the Marysville branch originally and they were phenomenal teaching in the classroom. I passed the written on the first try but then COVID screwed with me being able to schedule the complimentary lessons with instructors. Then I had some personal issues that stopped me from pursuing my license and I had a permit for a few years until recently. This branch is closer to my home so I took the tests with them and passed both on my first try. I accidentally purchased an oral test for the written exam when I only needed the basic, and while the company did not refund me they offered an hour lesson before my skills test instead and it proved to be critical to me passing the skills test. I highly recommend the additional lesson before your exam because you can go over your weak areas and the instructor cannot speak beyond instructions during the skills test. It also gives you a better feel of the car, because the car I practiced with at home was very different to the company car I tested in. (My car had a back up camera and you CANNOT rely on that during the test) My instructor was patient, kind and helpful despite my confusion/struggles with the backing around a curb maneuver and parallel parking. The instructor taught me helpful tips on how to improve these skills I struggled with. I mostly learned actually driving/skills with my anxiety riddled, backseat driver mom who had massive freak outs at every mistake, so I greatly appreciated the patience and composure my instructor had with me. He helped me feel at ease and perform better. I actually improved upon my mistakes with his tips. Thank you Antonio!!

Negative experience: My wife went in took two tests written failed , then got the test on her phone passed , then took a drive test failed because the test lady hit her brake because she felt my wife was going to hit the car parked in front of them they got out and two feet was left and that was after her front bumper had passed the rear of other car the lady said oh sorry you fail because I hit the brake. We don't have the money to repeat over and over and my wife seen a lot of others fail there seems fishy so if you have money to burn go there if not do like we did and do your research it only cost us 200.00+

Positive experience: Loved learning how to drive from this place. 100% recommend to people who are pretty busy but still want to learn to drive (I took zoom classes because of my busy schedule) all my in person drives were great the instructors always were kind and considerate. Overall a great experience! thank you for everything DDS!

Fantastic experience: The teachers are very nice and are open to any questions you may have about driving and the driving instructors are informative and professional, I can guarantee, if you follow their patient instructions, you will be safe on the road and in class. I can certainly recommend

Negative experience: Communication is not great. One person tells you one thing, the next person contradicts that. It have been a very confusing and frustrating experience.

Positive experience: The classes are comprehensive, however the actual drives could be better. The instructors don’t usually give you much warning before having you make turns, which can make the situation rather stressful when there is so much to be paying attention to. More of a balance in corrections and positive affirmations would be so helpful, this keeps things instructive while keeping the students in a more frame of mind.

Positive experience: My girlfriend went to get her drive test at 3:00 on the 18th and as they finished the older woman instructor had marked her at a 82% and even congratulated her on passing , Then says oh wait, never mind and marks her down to a 78%. And even chuckled while my girlfriend sat there, trying not to cry . And the majority of what she was marked for was curb distance, and she never even opened the door to check how close she was to the curb once. As well as when she parallel parked, I could see from the parking lot that she had parked Within the distance of the cone to the curb But she was still marked for distance . It just seems incredibly unprofessional and a little sadistic to laugh at somebody in that situation Edit: They reached out and offered a free retake for the troubles and she accepted. The effort is definitely appreciated.

Fantastic experience: My name is Aylin Chavez, I am an enrolled student here at Drivers ED and this course is by far the most helpful resource for learning how to drive. The teachers are great and know how to turn this program into a fun educational experience.

My test instructor was Katrina. She was very sweet and made me feel very comfortable enough that I was able to pass on the first try.

He passed his test last week and I really credit David’s help. I recommend this school, and David especially!

Fantastic experience: Where to start about Defensive Driving school. Everyone was so friendly and made the process so easy and seemless. My teenager was very very nervous about driving and reluctant to start. However he immediately warmed up to his instructor David, and after his first day, his fear of driving seemed to have completely evaporated, he was even excited to get to drive again! Great people, great price, and no BS. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Fantastic experience: As a beginner driver with anxiety I can't say enough wonderful things about this place. I started off taking thier knowledge test prep course that prepared me to pass my knowledge test the first try. The staff and test proctor were very professional and encouraging. Nothing short of a miracle, I was blessed with the opportunity to take thier virtual 5 week drivers ed course via zoom. My instructor Jason, is very experienced, knowledgeable, thorough, and has a great sense of humor which makes learning enjoyable. This school is highly understanding and respectful of impairments such as anxiety. I can now say since starting this course, I feel confident in my understanding of my vehicle, the laws, and my ability to navigate the road safely and proactively. Thank you to the staff and to my instructor! Its truly been a blessing working with them! I can't recommend this place enough.

Negative experience: Final drive for my daughter was a horrible experience. Instructor yelled at my daughter through the entire drive. Kept yelling at her about "dry steering" and my daughter had never even heard that term (i had to look it up). My daughter passed but was in tears during and after the final drive. The instructor had ZERO compassion for a young girl who was obviously nervous. DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE!!. THERE ARE OTHER OPTIONS.

Fantastic experience: I took drivers ed with them and Katrina administered all my drives and tests. She was amazing, and was always very helpful when I had any questions. Great people at the desk, instructors are helpful, and I’m so glad I went with Defensive Driving School in Arlington.

Fantastic experience: Can't ask for anything better on how the DDS handles their customers. Both Dave M. and Katrina J. are very professional and knowledgeable with teaching the proper techniques to my kid and I even got to go on ride-a-longs. This type of environment setting is soooooooo MUCH different than what I had to do when I was a kid kinda wish I had this when I was younger. Then the online training was awesome. Jason made it more relaxing and kept it professional and clearly communicated to everyone taking that course. Thank you all for a GREAT Experience!!!! Spike

Fantastic experience: defensive driving school was amazing when i took the classes, it was over zoom but it was still a good time with jason and his funny stories, lots of games it was never boring, sometimes i would fall asleep and he would tease me and i thought that was funny, you’ll always feel very welcomed in those classes, my only issues is with the driving, when i met with some of my people i wasn’t told about a few things when i was driving so when it came down to the 2 to last thing i was told i’m doing it wrong... that’s the only thing i would fix but very amazing people and very patient as well!!
