Fantastic experience: Very thorough and knowledgeable instructors who teach you everything to pass the cdl road test. Passed my first time and thanks to them now have future goals and aspirations to succeed in this field.

Fantastic experience: This was a terrific school with a very helpful office and amazing instructors. I’m incredibly grateful I went this route, Calling the office was always a pleasant experience always going the extra mile for you. The instructors were absolutely phenomenal and giving information to the point and direct. Coming to the course with no knowledge at all, I felt very confident on the test day and I was able to pass no problem. Thank you for everything!

Negative experience: Oh where to begin. This school feeds off veterans education benefits. I attended the school for about 3 days and was so displeased with the operation that I walked away and got my benefits back. Instructors were on their phones, smoking vapes and having story times while a number of us students were struggling. I got no guidance on how to correct my mistakes and for 3 days striaght continued to mess up over and over again with no instructors telling me ever in doing wrong. The trucks at the training facility were garbage. There were about 20 students and only 3 functional trucks to practice with. The lot is very small. The only thing that I got out of this school is how to properly do my pre trip inspections. However, it was not the instructors who helped me excel at learning the pre trips it was a fellow student who was nice enough to help me out and teach me how method. I would not recommend this school at all to someone who has no experience backing up trailers because you won't get an guidance. If you do have the experience and just need your cdl then yeah you'll get what you need. Good luck and hopefully the school figures things out.

Fantastic experience: I couldnt be happier with my experience at the CDL School. Everybody was awesome; Phil, Ligan, Rosanna, Jim, Steve.. they were all great. The school was extraordinarily flexible with my schedule and needs to ensure I was licensed just weeks after enrolling. Nico and Matthew were also incredible on the administrative side of things making sure the process was seamless from beginning to end. I highly recommend to anyone thinking about it.

Fantastic experience: After failing my road portion of the cdl road test. I called the CdL school up and they were Caring and acknowledging of how stressful that could have felt to make it all the way to the end and not finish. They quickly got me the closest road test date possible and checked in with me every step of the way. I dont normally expect such hospitality for such an exam. Worth the money !!

Fantastic experience: Instructors and most all of the staff in the officer especially Nico were all awesome and helpful and went above and beyond through the whole process. Everyone was super real and went out of their way to help you understand. By the end I was more than ready for the test. The on road was a little shaky given we can only get on the road so much over the course but coming from never been behind the wheel of a semi-truck and little to no experience with manual I came out of the course and passed my test on the 10 speed and am feeling confident with it. The course though is really what you make of it you gotta use the time you’re given to really practice and communicate where you need more help and ask the questions you need. Overall, I can say I had a great experience during the course and can definitely recommend choosing this one to go for your CDL.

Fantastic experience: The CDL School in Menands NY is the place to go if you're looking get ahead. The instructors and staff are all highly knowledgeable and professional. I got my CDL Class A December 26th 2023 and just four months later I'm no longer riding a bike and catching the bus. I'm now driving a 2024 truck all thanks to The CDL School. Fantastic experience: They prepare you to pass the state CDL test. I passed first try on ten speed manual tractor trailer. Equipment can be really bad but the instructors are helpful and each have unique insights. You learn a lot through experience, trial and error, and what works for fellow students. The office staff is great! Expensive school but basically the only option in the region if you want to get your CDL without signing a contract to a trucking company. I wish they taught alley docking (not on the CDL test) but besides that and trucks with problems I recommend the school if you are looking to get your CDL.

Negative experience: Not organized at all. Trucks breaking down left and right. Had 6 guys sharing one truck because the other truck was being driven on the streets. You learn more from the other student in your class than from instructors. Me and another guy both had our road test rescheduled to the following week because they double booked us. (Out of 5 student taking manual they managed to double book 2 of us). Shouldn’t be sitting around every morning for an hour waiting for them to get situated. Such as removing the trucks out of the lot that they just park there for the night and theres also an hvac company who parks 2 of there vehicles in there who don’t leave until around 9 so one of the trucks cant be used for parking maneuvers. For the amount of money you are spending it’s ridiculous.

Negative experience: Do not go to this school they will take your money barely train you and tell you figure it out if fail and take your money

Fantastic experience: This place is good!! The staff are amazing people. I got my license Class-B first shot on the stick shift for the highway deptment I was hired for. I took my theory portion at an online place before I discovered here. But did the rest of everything here. For the future with upgrade to a Class-A I'll definitely take here.. A+ guys and thank you!!!

Positive experience: My experience is not a good one. My first day training was Sept 6th 2023, and it was a very HOT day. By mid day I was heat exhausted, by mid afternoon I had severe heat stroke and heading to ER. Ihad hydrated alot but still not enough. I do blame the school 50%, because they did NOT have anywhere for students to wait except in the baking sun for the next truck. No tents, no cool spaces except for the main building, but then you miss out on your chance to drive a truck. I had gotten some driving experience in the AM and once more in the early afternoon, but then had to go inside to cool down, next time I went outside was on a stretcher. Now do not count this school out, my experience was a bad one, I plan to go back when the temps are milder. This is a very good school, the instructors Know Their stuff. Rose is very knowledgeable and gave me pointers on my first road test. Lingon gave us a great way to go through the pre trip inspection. So overall, it is a good school, but changes do need to be made to safeguard the students. Tents to shelter the students, be it sun,rain,snow,etc. That would be a start. Second, would be more instructors to keep the students on track and keep the driving time down to 15-20 mins. So.e students took a truck and drove in it the whole day. So instead of 5, now you have 3, because of two arrogant and selfish students .

Positive experience: I enjoyed the schooling. Instructors worked hard individually until you felt like you had it. They would go over the pre trip with you repetitively. I’d like to thank all the instructors and give them a high five for their time they spent one on one with each student. One thing I would like to suggest is it would be nice for the students to have a little tent or canopy to be under for shade or rain on the extremely hot and sunny days. Also for the students that are from out of area room and board should be included in with the tuition. With that said it was an expense I thought was included which was not. I spent a good $2,000 for a hotel room for the duration of the time there which was 14 nites. But all in all it was an excellent school and I passed and received my class A cdl first shot…. And a special thanks to Nico helping out getting the process of it all going and as fast as he did it was amazing.

YOU have to go into this school with a open mind/clear minded. and be able put time and all your effort into the time you have before the test. office workERS are are good from SHAY TO the receptionist & nico. instructor will show you what you need to know. gotta really focus n be willing to make sure you understand that your paying for it and be able to use the knowledge and put it into action. Fantastic experience: Training a Chef to be a truck driver is not easy but thanks to the CDL School Albany it finally came a reality! Fantastic experience: Though they’re kind of short of staff on the range , but are highly dedicated in making sure every student have a fair share of adequate training to pass their skill test. Yes , the range is rugged ,bumpy and not paved , but I believe it’s the best place to train uncomfortably and after all the rigors you will be able to pass with ease during your test in a well paved and comfortable range. My thanks goes to all the staff for making my success possible with their concerted efforts.

Negative experience: I would not recommend this place, I always wanted my cdl and was very excited to go to this place as it’s the only place around Albany…well sadly there was a lady named Stephanie that I dealt with when I first called to inquire about the process, she was very unpleasant to deal with an completely turned me off from moving forward, I could only imagine how things would of went after I gave close to 9k of my money… First impressions are everything and I will be looking to another school by rome ny or Kingston ny that’s not only cheaper but way more polite a friendly and treats there students the way they should be….

Fantastic experience: During my time here, I have learned many things that will help me during the rest of my career. The combined knowledge and experience of the instructors here is unmatched and they are definitely here to make sure you succeed one way or another. When my first road test was canceled due to a truck failure, they gave me at least a full days worth of practice before my next test to make sure I was prepared, and I did end up getting through it! I appreciate the work the staff upstairs and the instructors on the range did for myself and my peers as we worked together through training. I can say it is worth it!

Everyone from the management staff to the instructors were very helpful and encouraging. I progressed well through the class but when it came time for my road test I choked. The staff encouraged and helped me to get through my test. I can't say enough about how they have helped me and changed my life. Nothing but positive things to say about the school.

After week one I was about ready to quit. learning pre trip, then Manuevers , and driving a 10 speed truck with no experience on manual transmissions was overwhelming . Fantastic experience: I started on Monday October 3rd and graduated on Monday October 17th. When I first started I remember wondering how I would remember everything that they were teaching me and wondering how the hell would I parallel park a tractor trailer. I was told to trust the process and if I paid attention and listen to everything they were telling me I would be able to do it. When I took the test with DMV, I passed the first time. The process works. The program is great. Trust in what the instructors are teaching you. The experience and knowledgeable that they have works. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend anyone to the school. I had doubted myself; I was told not to give up and believe in myself. I am very thankful for this program. I finally am able to pursue my dreams. This is something that I have always wanted to do and with completing this program; I am now able to.

Positive experience: My experience at this school was a little off because most of the trainers was sitting down not helping us the students to do the pre trip are anything they just left us on or own to figure things out I must say Danny and Shea was really helpful and the manger was really nice

Fantastic experience: The best place to learn and practice for your CDL. The whole staff is amazing and if you have the drive...pun intended..and the desire, with their expert instruction you WILL pass your tests. Don't look anywhere else for your training. I first went and got my Class B and when the time came to go for Class A it wasn't even a question I went back to The CDL School in Menands, Ny. Don't pay attention to negative reviews those people I'm sure put zero effort in because if you follow what they say and actually put in the work and listen they make it easy.

Negative experience: I came in this evening to pick up a refund check for my husband because Jammie has not been responsive or attentive to helping him achieve his CDL licensing goals. While I waited over 10 minutes for her to greet me I overhear her on a personal call at work trying to get her car repaired and watch her answering her personal phone holding a conversation. Crazy. But What’s sad about it to me is that I can now see what was going on between her and my husband and why she wasn’t responding to her emails from him during the process. However, I will not recommend this training school if you have to work with her. But best of luck to whoever decides that CDL school is something that they would like to consider.

Fantastic experience: The CDL School is a wealth of knowledge and experience. If you have questions or need guidance, just ask the instructors! Gather all the perspectives available. They are there for you, and at the same time great about not micromanaging (in the best way). Put in the effort and take it seriously. Don’t quit. Make sure you understand and follow all the range rules! Help others when you can, but keep your head on your shoulders and remember that you are a student. Be ready to learn from the thoroughly experienced instructors, and treat them all with respect. Fantastic experience: Of COURSE another 5 star review! I will first start by saying how easy Nico and Shay made the admissions process. They walked me through every step of the way, constantly encouraging me to finish what I started! It’s actually conveniently located right off the highway (route 7) , So it’s easy to find. Yes, the instructors: very approachable…. I would like to add names to the unknown faces of these instructors. Phil, Josh, Tyler and the entire team and staff was always helpful to answer any dumb & repetitive questions, and stayed on our backs when we needed heat under the seat! It’s a very well-rounded program, And whoever selected the staff knew exactly what the process takes to get it done! I DEFINITELY recommend! Change your life and sign up TODAY!

Fantastic experience: This school was A1, from the class managers to the instructors. This school prepares you for everyday life of driving a semi-truck and as well preparing you for your road test. Nico, is a great class manager and he’ll go above and beyond to make sure that your needs are met. The instructors are great as well : Roseann, Bill, Josh, Jim, Tyler and Manager Phil. Fantastic experience: Best program for anyone wanting to get into trucking. Knowledgeable and experienced instructors get you ready to make money on the road. Support staff is amazing, Nico went out of his way to ensure I was taken care of even though I wasn't part of his area of responsibility. They have also partnered with Indeed to have the costs covered for Veterans, how great is that! Fantastic experience: Nico did a great job with getting me signed up. I felt like getting information from the class manager could have been relayed a lot better. I had to seek out anything I wanted to know and use Nico a few times and the range instructors. Once I was on the range the trainers were very knowledgeable and friendly. They helped make sure I knew the pre-trip and static test completely. They also made me feel comfortable when driving on the road. I thank them for helping get my license.

Fantastic experience: I just completed this school and passed my driving test to get my class B license. Everyone was very nice at the school and I learned a lot from the instructors. I would have never passed the skills test if it wasn’t for the instructors that taught me the things to know and give me the confidence to pass the skills test. Fantastic experience: The CDL School -Albany is a great school for anyone in the area looking to obtain their commercial driver’s license. I personally dealt with Tyler as my instructor, Tyler has a great way of teaching the commercial driving. He comes from a background that allows him to give the students inside knowledge as well as real world examples of things that have happened to him while over the road. I highly recommend the school for any of you commercial driving needs, Request Tyler as the instructor you will be guaranteed to pass your road test exam.

Fantastic experience: I wasn't sure what to expect before arriving at the school. But the office staff really worked with me to walk me through the process and help me. Once there my expectations were surpassed. The instructors are very knowledgeable and helpful with decades of experience. They will work with you to make sure you learn and master all your weak points. It was also a place where I made some life long friends. I highly recommend the school.

Fantastic experience: Without the knowledgeable and professional instructors at the CDL School I would have never passed the road test to get my Class A CDL. Fantastic experience: My experience was nervous at first due to I have no experience with trucks or driving a manual vehicle but my instructors helped and gave me confidence in what I was doing and it helped along with my classmates.

Fantastic experience: Very good experience with the Albany crew. Office staff was very helpful and always there to answer all of my questions. Went above and beyond to resolve any issues that came up so I could take the road test on my scheduled date. The driving instructors were patient and always there to help with backing maneuvers if I needed it. Very good driving instructors for out on the road. Thanks to everyone who helped me get this license.

Fantastic experience: Bill, Phil, Rose, & Tom are great instructors and accommodating when it comes to training. They listen to you & work with you to make sure you are ready to pass your road test. If you have any questions you must asked them & they can help anyway possible. They are good people & the office staff are good to. I had a lot of fun during the training. Fantastic experience: Hey good evening guys I want to give a shout out too nico he is the man he is very intelligent and a very kind hearted person if u have any questions and concerns about the school he have the best advice I pass my cdl permit it took me many times but I really liked the night time online class my teacher Dylan and Kaylee was very cool I wish was able to train for 2 weeks get my cdl license right I live the 5 boroughs the commute to much if u need help with anything speak to nico u be great much love and respect to everyone

Fantastic experience: Nico the recruiter was great we had some difficulties and he found solutions he didnt give up on us and got us into the program. The program itself is tough especially doing it at night but the instructors are very helpful they are there with you all the time and they love to help and teach you things dont be afraid to ask questions they will answer them . Have faith in the process coming from a guy who knew nothing about trucks and did it in a 10speed manual truck as well no experience whatsoever and those guys were patient and teached me very good ,ive never shifted or drove manual in my life either. Listen to the instructors they have great guys there like josh , roxanne phil they are great instructors and great people and very experienced . Thank you guys!

Fantastic experience: The staff is excellent from the office to the instructors. Everyone had a different style but what they have in common is a willingness to help. I strongly recommend this school to anyone who is interested in obtaining a CDL license.

Fantastic experience: Wasn’t sure what to expect arrive to a mud yard with some trucks my initial thought was “this is a waste of money” I was unsure if 2 weeks was enough to learn it all. But the instructors are awesome thank you to Bill, Josh, Rosann and Phil you guys are awesome. All you have to do is trust the process it really works, got my CDL A today.
