Positive experience: Jorge was overall very kind, helpful and funny during my 3 lessons with him. Some of his jokes made me uncomfortable, but besides that, I think he's nice. The first lesson was very chill and slow-paced, which I appreciated, as I hadn't had any previous driving experience. The second lesson was way different; he was introducing so many new concepts and rules to me at once and I felt overwhelmed. He got upset at me when I made a mistake or didn't get the hang of something right away. It was hard for me to understand him sometimes because of his accent, which often caused me to misinterpret his directions, making him more upset. The third lesson was a lot better, he seemed a lot more encouraging when I made mistakes. Maybe he was having a bad day during the second lesson, I don't know. I would still recommend him overall.

So I did some research and decided to go with Royal's Driving School. Jonathan was my instructor, he was personable, knowledgeable, calm, cool and collected. Fantastic experience: Hurray!!! I passed my driving test. I had no driving experience, never drove any car before and I waited for the last minute to take my driving test after my permit. I had only one month left and one of my family friends recommended me Leo for the best driving lessons. Right after I spoke to sir Leo and after my first class I started feeling confident. Trust me He has abundance of patience, If it wasn’t Leo I wouldn’t have passed it. I’m a curious person who likes asking questions and he was really patient to answer any doubts I had about the rules and regulations since I’m an international student and I was less aware of the traffic rules back then. Negative experience: Driving Instructor(Carlos) never arrived and waisted 2 hours. When i contacted him , he told me he is 15 minutes late , after 15 minutes he told me he 20 mini late and he never arrived.

Negative experience: I had Luis as my driving instructor and he made me watch videos for at least 30-40 minutes. I paid for driving practice where actual driving should take place but he made me watch videos for at least 30 minutes each session. If anything, I could’ve watched them at home before the sessions. Futhermore, he was severely touchy like grabbing my arm and even one time, touching my leg. He was a good and nice teacher but he needs to work on boundaries. I was told the session was gonna be 160 and then he told me it was 180. I know he wants you to pass but there is room for improvement as he is super unprofessional. He was punctual and showed you everything that would happen in the test but I would get dropped off early in addition to watching videos so I feel robbed.

Negative experience: The worst driving school ever. Extremely unprofessional. I scheduled 2 appointments my instructor was late for the first appointment more then an hour. The instructor never asked my permit and I’m sure was ether hungover or high during our driving session. The second appointment the driver was late again, no phone call or anything. So I called the company and told how unprofessional they were and was hung up on. Avoid at cost and will be reporting them to bad business Bureau. This company should not be in business.

Negative experience: When I initially called and requested classes I spoke with an Asian man who told me that later that day a woman would call me to finish scheduling the appointment. I was excited to start learning how to drive! The day of the appointment the driving instructor was late, we were supposed to start at 11:30 and he didn’t get to the appointment until 12:00. The mans car was a mess. It was junky with papers everywhere, he didn’t even try to tidy up. I know it’s only my first time driving but for literally drove me around in circles for hours doing right turns only. He tried to end the session 30 minutes early but I told him that I had paid for two hours and he allowed me to get the rest of my allotted time. He wasn’t too friendly but that wasn’t the problem but it seemed like my excitement was irritating to him. I called today to reschedule but no one answered the phone. I read the rest of the reviews and everyone else got Luis but I got Patrick. I don’t feel like their scam artist but I DO feel scammed.

Negative experience: I booked Luis because almost every review talked about how good he was. Very disappointing experience. He mostly just keeps showing you videos and it's hard getting questions answered because English is not his first language. Plus I was told by the school it was 130 per session and he showed up and said it was 150 which had to be paid via zelle with no receipt given. Only had my first session but def not going back and would not recommend this place!

Fantastic experience: I am an adult driver who has never driven before. After failing my first DMV test at Glendale with a 10-hr instruction from another school, I decided to look for a different school and registered for a 6-hour course with Luis. He helped me pass my second driving test at the Hollywood DMV! Luis is a knowledgeable instructor who gave me insightful tips as well as useful videos to watch at home after our in-person lessons. My safety on the road was his priority and I would highly recommend him for other novice students.

Fantastic experience: I passed my driving test on my first try thanks to Luis and Manuel. If you're a beginner driver I recommend starting with LUIS as he is super patient and very good at explaining basics of driving. Luis also took me to Glendale DMV and showed the route I will be taking for the test which was incredibly helpful! MANUEL helped me greatly with driving on the freeway, parallel parking and backing which was essential for me to become a confident driver. I couldn't thank them both enough!!

Negative experience: My instructor patrick was not only late for me but for my brother as well. Back to back we had the same instructor and he was an hour late. If you get patrick as a n instructor ask for someone else. I can't speak for the other instructors.

Fantastic experience: Driving has always been something that gave me such anxiety over the years. I lived in Chicago for my teens/20s and didn't need a license (public transit is solid there), but moved to LA and you need to know how to drive here. After reading tons of reviews and contacting various driving schools in the area, I landed on Royal's. It was so easy to get started and they had an appointment available the day after I called to inquire. I took 12 hours of driving lessons & the DMV exam with Jorge. I couldn't be happier with my experience. He was kind, funny, patient, and punctual. He taught me the rules of the road, how to be a safe/defensive driver, and gave me the confidence to take my test just a month after starting my lessons. I can actually say that I'm going to miss hanging out with him hahaha. Jorge, if you're reading this--thank you so much for everything! You're the best. Some other notes about the services through Royal's: -Lessons are 2 hours (including pick up & drop off) -You can pay through check or Zelle -You WILL drive on the street your first day, so be ready. -They offer lessons as early as 6am which worked perfectly with my schedule. -The instructors have gas pedals & brake pedals on the passenger side of the car. -I learned to drive in a Prius C, but I'm sure they have other options. -After you get the hang of things, you can suggest to your driver what you'd like to practice more (although they're likely already aware). For example, I wanted more practice with parallel parking & freeway. -They go with you to the DMV (if you purchase that service), and are well versed in the processes--where to go, who to talk to. It was seamless. Anyway, highly recommend this driving school. I might even take stick shift lessons at some point, too! Thanks again!

Positive experience: I recently did 6 hours with Luis and can officially say I just passed my test! Luis showed me exactly what (and where) I would be tested on and what to look out for and remember, and was very patient and helpful getting me more comfortable behind the wheel. Had some small scheduling/communication issues regarding my appointments but other than that I got exactly what I wanted at a pretty decent rate.

Negative experience: I booked an instruction lesson along with the driving test through the royal driving school. The instruction hour was filled with poor communication through Carlos and no through run through of the rules. When I asked him questions about certain rules and turns he did not seem to answer any of them leaving me even more confused and nervous before my test. While waiting at the DMV he left the place and I was unable to get a hold of him for about 10 minutes while having to make the DMV worker at the window wait (because they need to see the person who has driven the person to the DMV). He said I would pass the test but did not even explain the hand signals to me until we were in the queue for the inspection. My friend who took the test with Carlos at the same DMV two days before me also failed the test because of unclear instructions from Carlos. I don't think this instruction lesson was worth the $200 I dropped on it at all. The behavior was highly unprofessional and to top it all, Carlos suggested that I go try at another DMV next time. I was highly disappointed and would not recommend Royal Driving School for the test.

Fantastic experience: I had never driven before and Luis made the experience so easy. I didn’t even know how to hold the steering wheel and he took the time to explain and to make sure I was comfortable in the car before we went on driving. Positive experience: This was my second choice since EZ Will Driving School was terrible. I only used the dmv service. I just needed a car to take my drivers license. I took my test at Culver City and to be honest the instructor was ok. The rest was all up to me he only mentioned small things to correct in my driving. Overall I drive often and now what’s right and wrong so that information wasn’t new. Anyway, I passed and got my drivers license. I do suggest this place if you just want the Dmv service. If you just need a car and you can handle the rest like me you got this! Good luck! ❤️

Fantastic experience: I took "refresher" lessons with Luis, since I haven't driven in a while. He helped me feel comfortable and confident about driving on the streets. Since the lessons, I have travelled on curvy streets in the hills, and busy city streets. Thanks Luis!
