Fantastic experience: Not to be dramatic, but Scott literally changed my life. He is THE best teacher ever. He gives the best advice/feedback, will make you feel more comfortable and confident driving, and is overall amazing. I've learned so much from him, every lesson I could feel myself becoming more confident in my driving. I have always had a fear of driving and thought I would never be able to drive on the streets, let alone get my license. After our lessons, I've been able to confidently drive on highways (you would've never caught me on there before) and pass my driver's test with a 100. I am so incredibly thankful that I chose the Behind the Wheel series and booked with Scott. I hope everyone who's considering getting driving lessons books with him so you can see how great he is. I will forever be grateful to 1st Learn to Drive and to Scott for being the most amazing teacher, I CANNOT express my gratitude for him enough. 5/5 experience!

Fantastic experience: My review is for Scott Kefgen as my instructor. I was successfully able to earn my license on my first try after taking a couple lessons with Scott. He goes beyond what is expected for a driving instructor, because he really wants all of his students to pass, but also succeed as safe and competent drivers. He comes prepared -every student is given the guide packet with basic driving rules, but more importantly relevant tips for the test. We practiced on a route that was very similar to the one I ended up taking with the DMV, and every lesson is based on improving your weakest areas -he leaves extensive notes and adds grades to the rubric on the packet after each session. Those will be used as the focus for the next lesson. You can easily tell he comes from a teaching background, because he will let you know bluntly what you did wrong and encourage you to try again. The immediate feedback is so the lesson isn't wasted on time dancing around the problem area, and instead more time could be spent to correct the issue. Scott was also very accommodating by asking the students if they are comfortable with driving, asking if their seat feels right, if the music or windows need to be adjusted to minimize distractions, or if he was stressing the student by giving too much feedback at once. After going through the lessons with Scott, I was surprised at how easy the DMV driving test was, and I know it was because Scott prepared me for it more than enough. Every student should have a driving instructor like Scott at 1st Learn to Drive, and I will be recommending him to my peers. It is very likely you will pass the driving test after learning from Scott.

Fantastic experience: SCOTT is the BEST instructor!!! I had the awsome experience while learning driving. As a beginer driver with a lot of anxiety, he was very patient & persistent. Scott put a lot of efforts to understand the communication difficulties, cultural differences as well as traffic rules in my country. As a foreigner (Indian), this helped me a lot to improve my skills. He was always giving constructive feedbacks and lots of encouragement to calm my nerves and pursue driving. Highly recommended!!!

Fantastic experience: VINCE!!! We truly got our moneys worth with this one. Every drive day I’d be jumping up and down, ready to learn how to drive with Vince in the passenger seat. Please give him a papaya once your course is over, he loves those. I knew I would never crash with him as my instructor.

Negative experience: Honestly at first I thought this school was great but towards the end it was a little irritating that we were forced to reschedule 2 of our drives because another parent had prior obligations but yet they made it clear when you signed up when your drives would be. Second, my daughter finished her class in August. She didn’t turn 16 until October but had to wait out the 6 months which put us to the beginning of November. I got a call right after my daughter’s birthday (2.5 months after the class ended) telling me that she has a bunch of assignments that need to be turned in before she can get the card to take to the DMV. Multiple times I stated that we had it set up for a specific date to get her license (when the 6 months was up) two days before we are to head to the DMV I get a call in the evening (almost 5pm) stating that I was good to go as soon as I uploaded one more thing. I stated again that we needed everything due having to be at the DMV again was told everything would be fine. I upload the document and the. Check later in the evening and it states that the card has been mailed!!! How and I good to go if I can print it out or pick it up. Called at 7:30 am next morning left message 3pm I call again and finally get a call back a few minutes later told there is nothing they can do sorry gives me the managers number. Call to speak to the manager who is obviously at home with her kid screaming in the background telling me it’s all my daughters fault and the is nothing to do she doesn’t care either. They have the worst customer service/communication. If I am paying $600 for a service there is an expectation of how things should be handled. I had originally recommended this to other parents and work partners but after this I sent an email out to my work partners letting them know what happened to ensure that our clients don’t get treated like this. There are other schools around where you will actually get your moneys worth along with being treated with respect.

Fantastic experience: Scott is a wonderful instructor. I had been procrastinating getting my license for the longest time due to having a lot of anxiety about driving. He instantly put me at ease and was very thorough and helpful. I never felt unsafe when driving with him, and I passed my test after 3 lessons!

Fantastic experience: Scott is a great teacher. He is calm, and clear, and confident. He is honest and prepares his students to pass the test and drive safely. I enjoyed learning from him and have gained much experience from our drives.

Fantastic experience: I had 3 appointments with Scott to prepare for my driving test (which I just passed yesterday!). I am 42 yo and held a fear of driving for a long time. I was a passenger in an accident years ago and though I’ve had a desire to drive, my fear had kept me stuck. Scott made me instantly comfortable. He provided clear instruction, was encouraging, but also firm in his delivery. He helped reframe the way I thought about being on the road and built my confidence in a practical way. I felt safe and secure with him as my instructor and knew he wouldn’t put us in danger. I am blown away that I have finally conquered this long standing fear and I am so grateful I got Scott as my instructor. Scheduling was easy, appointments were on time and it was completely worth the financial investment. I highly recommend 1st Learn to Drive and Scott. I didn’t think I would be ready to take my test so quickly going into this and am amazed that within a month, I am a licensed driver!

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with 1st Learn To Drive! I started with almost no prior experience and poor self-confidence. My instructor, Scott, excellently explained the theory and was calm and understanding during all the drives I had with him. I passed my test after 3 2-hour lessons with Scott that occurred within 1.5 months. Lessons are 100% worth it! I've certainly became a more confident driver and am not anxious anymore about driving. I highly recommend Scott and 1st Learn To Drive!

Fantastic experience: I had Jeremy as an instructor and at first I thought that he was really scary and wasn’t a good instructor. By the end, I realized that he was just looking out for us and trying to make us better drivers, which I think he really succeeded at. I learned a lot more than I thought that I would and had a great time. The drive routes got a lot easier and I feel ready for the final. If you are looking to become a safe driver, this is the course for you.

Positive experience: 1st learn to drive focuses on safe and responsible driving with using many effective stories and examples. The teaching methods used may not be for everyone as they are fast paced and pretty blunt but it has helped me become a better, safer driver.

Fantastic experience: This is a very educational course that just scares you enough to be a safe driver while also keeping you wanting to drive. The classes are very educational and helpful and if you are looking for a high effort class to get a proper education this is for you. My driver was Jeremy and he had a lot of helpful stories to show you what really happens. Overall a good experience just a takes your effort.

Negative experience: Scam place - please be aware. I had booked a lesson with them two months ago, that was cancelled by the scheduler Meghan twice, on the day of the lesson. I finally asked for a refund - which Meghan had said would be done. Now it’s been more than a month, the refund has still not come in. Mike or Meghan or anybody from the team have conveniently stopped responding to emails or text messages. Absolute scam of a place!

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend 1st Learn to Drive school or anyone who would like to ace their driving tests. Their instructors are highly skilled and they have a special cars that are equipped with safety measures for student drivers. When I was finally ready after months of practice, I took the test and the one who conducted my road test it said that I must have had a very good instructor because I did a very good job. I said, yes, indeed!

Negative experience: Our first class was fine although it was only 45 minutes as our instructor showed up late and returned early (we had paid for an hour). Our second class had to be canceled due the snow/ice that came up the last week in December. We canceled 24 hours before the class, but they kept all of our money because it was not the 48 hours stated on their website. I called and left a voice mail and a snotty woman called me back and told me I had to cancel 72 hours before the class to get a refund and if I didn't like it, I could contact the owner, "Mike". I sent "Mike" an e-mail, but he didn't respond. You can't call the company directly, all calls go to voice mail. We are planning on at 6 more driving sessions, but it won't be with this company.

Fantastic experience: Jeremy is very transparent about his goals for us, and keeps the focus of the time he spends teaching on making sure that we understand the lesson. His stories, I find, serve to make the point of the lesson memorable. I feel like a much more confident and competent driver than when I started out, solely thanks to this course. So long as you are somewhat accustomed to navigating oddly laid out web interfaces, the websites and such are clear enough. Once you get the hang of it, nothing is terribly hard to access. All lessons have also been very on time, except for some unavoidable technical difficulty. I would definitely recommend this course to a friend.

Positive experience: I was taught how to be a safe driver. My instructor was very understanding and listened when I needed help. When going into this course I was scared but I am glad I have learned and developed how to become a better driver.

Positive experience: I over all thought it was a really good experience, and I could see myself improve as I went. I'm almost at the end, and I'm very grateful I did it. One thing I did not like though is that amount of work, alongside my schoolwork and sports it got to be a lot. But I don't think I would be as good of a driver without it.

Fantastic experience: Great course. Efficiently teaches you to drive in 2 months. Jeremy is very direct and straightforward but also personable and relatable which makes for effective lessons.

Positive experience: Really 4.5 stars. I see a lot of comments about the office communication, and they’re right, I had trouble getting them to relay information to my instructor. That said, Jeremy was a really good instructor and made the lessons engaging and easy to understand. I feel like I needed to know a lot of what they taught and it was really helpful to get this information. It’s also nice that the class includes the final drive at the end so you can earn your license with someone who at least knows you.

Fantastic experience: Took 3 classes with them. Scott really helped a lot. He was good at explaining and acknowledging improvement. He even had notes that helps you touch bases with basics of rules. Overall, helped me improve with small yet valuable tips and tricks.

Negative experience: Jeremy was my instructor and was constantly on his phone scrolling through random apps while me and my partner were driving he was very stressful to drive with, after a car went into the bike lane to pass me while I was turning they almost hit me and he told me to just keep going after I was Visby not okay, when we were in class he would not go over things very well and if we had a question during a drive he wouldn't normally answer, my partner didn't know what a 3 point turn was and instead of telling him what it is and how to execute he got mad and told him to just forget it and keep driving

Negative experience: I would not pay anything to this business. It is impossible to contact them. There is no one available to answer the phone, and no one responds to messages. Apparently it’s a real business assuming these are real reviews, but otherwise I’m skeptical that it is. Thankfully our bank is helping get our money back.

Positive experience: Took 2 months to do the class, which I counted valuable and informative. However, I couldn’t do the drives during my class and scheduling them afterwards was a nightmare, and it also took an extra 3 months...glad I don’t have to do it again. Would be a lot easier If the course was more compacted.

Positive experience: Really great course. Lesson teachers were thorough and very committed to producing good drivers. Drive instructors were also committed and gave useful feedback. A bit direct at times, but you have to be to properly teach this kind of thing. Coursework is not to bad and it teaches you what you need to know. The one thing was that communicating with the office was pretty terrible. They almost never responded back to email, and call system gets automatically put into an email format, which is really annoying. But you basically don't ever need to talk to the office to go through the course, so it wasn't a giant problem. Overall, its a great program.

Positive experience: Some differing information between instructors, but regardless all were helpful and kind. Navigating the course online was a little difficult, and I think that some of the concepts may have been easier to understand in person, but all things considered, I was able to get a lot out of the class online, and the drive lessons were a big help in that sense.

Positive experience: Great curriculum and i learned a lot i wouldn’t have otherwise, definitely a time commitment. The driving instructors are helpful and made me feel comfortable driving with them. It was very hard to communicate with the office and i also got different information from driving instructors than my class instructor which was frustrating. Negative experience: I have been waiting for a call back from the company to resolve an issue for over a week, all they do is ignore me. However I put up a review about what happened, and suddenly someone works there, and answers my review to argue in less than 12 hours. Terrible communication, not professional at all. I can't believe that this company is allowed to con the public.

Positive experience: The teachers and instructors are all very nice and want to see you improve. One thing that was kind of spotty was the wait for the company to get back to you about classes and drives.

Negative experience: Horrible communication. Phone calls and emails not answered. On the few occasions when we did connect, they did not actually answer our specific questions, giving vague or nonspecific answers or only answering selectively. Different people seemed to reply each time, no consistency. Finally, instructor did not show for our scheduled drive. Highly NOT recommended.

Negative experience: it's super expensive and you barely drive, on top of that, the main reason behind these 5 stars is that at the end of the class, they put us in a raffle for gift cards if we gave them 5 star reviews. they literally pay their students to give them 5 stars.

Fantastic experience: 1st Learn to Drive was fantastic. 3 hour classes seem like a drag at first, but instructors like Andrew definitely make it worthwhile. This program has taken my driving to heights I never thought I could understand. I highly recommend using this program to anyone who’s a new driver. I had multiple instructors in the car, but I always felt like a safer driver by the end of the session.

Fantastic experience: This was a very good class and Steve really went the extra mile (no pun intended) to make this class fun and teach us every little detail. In the car he talked the whole time which was super helpful because he told us what to do and put good habits like checking intersections and rear zones. Now every time I see an inter section I think “intersection, and back to your target.” All in all a very good experience and worth every penny. I am now a better and safer driver because of this class. Thank you Steve :)
