Negative experience: I brought my daughter’s here because of the reputation of being the oldest and best… however i wish that the staff would be more transparent with completion time! Upon PAYING AND SCHEDULING i was told that it would be a 45 day waiting period for the driving portion, and i was fine with that. My daughter completed her course and passed the written class in July i called today, and now it’s a 45-60 day waiting period….for the driving portion. This is ridiculous, and I am so disappointed and disgusted with this agency…. If they would have just been honest and forthcoming instead of making the decision for my participation. DO BETTER VICTOR MANNING….. cause it surly didn’t take you 45-60 days to take my funds….i was basically told to wait for an email to schedule my daughters driving portion:..:::: #onemadmomma

Negative experience: ONE star. Be informed....they DO NOT TELL YOU that after you pass the test you'll wait a month or LONGER to complete this class. Pay the extra money to the smaller companies and get it done faster. My son missed out on a job because they didn't tell us this. After his test he was informed that he'll receive an email to begin the behind the wheel portion in a few DAYS. Even i called and asked and was told the same thing. In a few days I'll get an email..... two weeks later they claim it'll be 45 or MORE days. We drove an hour to Victor manning because they HAD a reputation of being great. Maybe back in the day....definitely not now. After all of this we went to a location in our area and began behind the wheel in 2 days.

Negative experience: If you expect good customer service for your money, I would not recommend this place. You get different information each time you call. They come late for driving lesson. They don’t greet you after saying good morning, twice. Very unprofessional ‍♀️.

Fantastic experience: After being too scared of learning to drive for decades, and not needing to while living in London and New York City, I finally took the plunge and passed on the first try! My whole experience at Victor Manning was perfect. The reception staff was friendly and informative and got me fast appointments for each step of the process. Daphne gave the theory lecture. She taught the whole driving manual in six hours, after which I found it easy to answer the necessary questions. She is wonderful at imparting a lot of information succinctly and even with some humor to help the stress. Manuel was my driving instructor. He is a fantastic instructor, who was able to teach me well while also alleviating my intense fear of driving. He is very knowledgable, kind and patient. Within two hours he had me relatively comfortable driving safely in traffic, on the interstate and over the Mississippi River, all of which had been intensely nervous about. I so appreciate his competence, warmth and humor helping me through a process I found quite challenging.

Negative experience: I paid a $50 deposit to enroll my son in a class that started in about a week. AFTER taking the non-refundable deposit, I received an email stating that the behind-the-wheel portion has a 90 day waiting list. Nowhere on the website does it state this and they don’t mention it when you call. I went into this thinking he would be able to get a learner’s period in a few weeks but in reality it would have taken several months. There are plenty of other schools in the area with shorter wait times and better business ethics.

Positive experience: can navigate the roads like a boss now bc of mr freddie

Negative experience: This place is horrible. The only thing that was really up to expectation was the class room taught by Mr.Freddy. I payed $500 dollars at this place and the driving instructor named Logan was horrible. The guy only took me on a drive for 1 hour when it was supposed to be 2 and then I tried rescheduling and I had to wait 1 more month just to get another hour in. Then I came back to take my driving test the lady with the mohawk was so rude and unfriendly she needs to be fired. This place is very ghetto and I don't recommend it if you can avoid it .Do it for your own good. Thank You

Negative experience: The front desk staff are mediocre at best. They mumbled and spoke fast when I inquired about enrollment. They're unfriendly during every interaction I've had with them. The black female secretary doesn't seem like she wants to be there. The black female examiner, Daphne, is horrible. Her demeanor was arrogant and unprofessional. She was rough and loud with her questions regarding forms. She spoke over me when I was explaining what we were advised to bring. Her words, "This was what we were taught in Baton Rouge. See those cameras?" She didn't make sense. During the road skills test, this employee didn't give an overall idea of what was to be expected. She spoke through gritted teeth when a question was asked. When an error was made, she threatened the student driver with failing. She also berated the student driver afterward and continued to do so for the remainder of the drive back to the school, yelling, "You risked our lives for a right turn signal! If he hit us, who would be at fault? You!" Upon returning from the road skills test, Daphne's demeanor changed 100% when a black male colleague entered. They chatted loudly about personal issues and money issues. The overall experience was terrible. I wouldn't recommend this location or this examiner. The only positive experience about this place is Mr. Freddie, a pleasant and professional instructor. He showed grace and kindness to the student driver.

Negative experience: Worst customer service. The person who answer your business phone has terrible attitude, very unprofessional and perfect to drive your customers away. She has the worst customer service to represent any business.

You pushed me n the class to work and remember like no other. You were a great instructor and I hope To see you again when it’s time for the drivers portion. I appreciate all you have done for me and my classes mates you literally made my day on this Friday. I passed when a 90% and after that I gave you a hug cs it meant a lot. You believed in me n your class and we repay your for leaving out with great scores. You were very funny and overwhelming entertaining and you treated the class like they were your kids. Which not a lot of ppl do. So I wanna say from the bottom of my heart thank you Mr.Freddie and have a great Christmas #couldn’t be done without you.

Fantastic experience: I took the adult course after being terrified to drive for years. The class format was far more effective for passing the test than any I'd encountered. My instructor was hilarious and she taught me far more than I needed to know for the test while still being clear about the test expectations. She focused on making me a good driver, period!

He helped take away the anxieties I had about learning to drive. Freddi is the best instructor at VM. Anyone who doesn’t like Freddi is mad because they’ve had students fail, but none of Freddi’s students have failed. He cares about his students and he wants his students to pass. He deserves an award, no matter what the other instructors think.

Negative experience: Buenas tardes, Hoy acabo de tener la peor experiencia desde que llegué a los Estados Unidos. Tuve mi curso teórico y mi examen escrito con una instructora (les agradezco revisar su nombre en el sistema de acuerdo a la fecha de hoy) que desde que llegué fue despectiva conmigo. Llegué puntual, pueden revisar cámaras. Al llegar me pidió mi TIP, como no le entendí muy bien (pues soy latina y no entiendo rápidamente a algunas personas que hablan muy rápido), empezó a decirme que si no le entendía cuando estuviéramos en clase, no era su problema, que ella hablaba así. Le dije si podría hablar un poco más despacio o repetir si lo necesitaba y me dijo no. Me hablaba con dureza y su mirada era agresiva. La secretaría también tenía una actitud burlona conmigo (les pido revisar cámaras). Fue tan desagradable la bienvenida que en el salón no había iniciado la clase y ya estaba llorando (les pido revisar cámaras del salón 2). Durante la clase su actitud fue grosera, me miraba con desprecio, su tono era humillante y aunque era grosera y brusca con todos, lo era más conmigo, no sé si me discriminaba por ser latina. Cuando le pedía que me repitiera algo o preguntaba, se le notaba el fastidio. No sé cómo puede ser docente. No debería serlo. Se nota que no le gusta lo que hace y hace quedar muy mal a la escuela. Yo decidí tomar el curso en Victor Manning por las opiniones y referencias, pero veo que son otros los maravillosos maestros, no esta instructora. Cuando me equivocaba en una respuesta a un pregunta oral, prefería ignorarme. Incluso su actitud era racista tanto conmigo como con dos estudiantes asiáticos. Con los demás era más amable. No sé si su problema es racial o si su problema es que cree que es superior por manejar un conocimiento. Hizo que la mayoría del curso se sintiera aterrado. Esta no es una opinión de resentimiento porque perdí, de hecho pasé el examen teórico con 90, sólo tuve 4 respuestas mal, pero si es una opinión para que personas como ella no continuén capacitando. Incluso al calificar mi examen me miraba de forma mezquina y con desagrado. Yo solicito que ella no sea mi instructora en el curso práctico ni en el examen práctico, es aterradora y grosera. No me imagino con ella en un carro. Pido respeto para los que somos latinos.

Fantastic experience: I’m so glad that I found Victor Manning! I did some research before deciding which driving school to go to, VM’s great reputation and professionalism caught my eyes! The whole process was smooth and efficient. I had great experience with both in class learning and behind the wheel training. My instructors Daphane and Manwell were great, knowledgeable and patient! I’d highly recommend VM to everyone, no matter you’re a teenage or adult driver! I got my drivers license today! Thank you everyone at VM! Keep up the good work!!!

I called four times to inquire about the behind-the-wheel driving portion and was told “they” would be calling - next week, in a few weeks, very soon, and at the end of the month.” All time periods have passed. Still waiting…

Fantastic experience: AWESOME!! My experience with my driving instructor mr.Freddie was by far the best ever . Not only did he make me feel comfortable but safe behind the wheel ! He was very patient with me even when I felt like I was messing up he reassured! He’s a pleasure to learn from , an wholesome individual he doesn’t just care about the school but the students he teaches which is something you don’t come across often !! Fantastic experience: All I can say is the driver instructors are clear about expectations and necessities. Very friendly and thorough. Ms. Daphane is the best. She sets a sense of security with both herself and the student, so there's no reason to be nervous. I wish I could do it again but it's time to move on.

Negative experience: We did the class in November and we're still waiting to take the actual behind the wheel instruction as of late February. I call at least 3 times a week leave messages and no one calls me back. Would not recommend.

Fantastic experience: When I first started I was really anxious since I just turned 18 so I had to take the shorter class. Luckily I got Daphne as my instructor and she was the BEST teacher for the written test. I just learned 100+ pages of driving laws in a couple hours and passed! For my 8 hours of on the road driving lessons I had two different teachers. My first 4 hours (they are split into 2 days) I had Mr.Calvin, he was really nice and taught me how to get control of the wheel and how to turn. My personal favorite teacher though, was Mr.Darryl! I had him for my 2nd day of driving practice and driving with him was kinda fun. He’s extremely calm, picks nice places for beginners to practice driving, and teaches you rules that you don’t learn in class and how to look out for things like listening for railroads if you can’t see them. He was the only reason I was comfortable driving on highways and interstates being a brand new driver. I ended up passing my road test with Mr.Manuel as well! He’s a great road test examiner, he was calm, funny, and really doesn’t want you to be nervous during the test. Great school, and great teachers. The only downside of this school is that sometimes it’s hard to get in touch with them, but it is worth it.

Fantastic experience: Victor Manning Driving School provided me with great service! The classes are very efficient. My driving instructor Ms. Daphine was amazing. She made me feel comfortable and gave me sufficient tips on improving my driving skills and preparing me for the road skills test. Ms. Katrina (at the front desk) did a wonderful job scheduling my classes and road skills test, so I could get my licenses in a timely fashion. I would definitely recommend this place!

Positive experience: I had a great 4 days of drivers ed. I learned a lot from this school.

Negative experience: It was pretty good taking my written test lessons here. I haven’t progressed into the road skills lessons or test(s), but my experience so far has been above average. The communication between the office and the student/family of the student could use some help as students who don’t have a TIP card can’t take any tests (which isn’t technically a requirement according to the documents they give you when you sign up). Also, a lot of the video material is outdated in terms of statistical data and modern issues when it comes to driving (as seen in the early 2000s editing and fashion), but it still does a good job at teaching you the material you need to know. Be aware that the actual building itself and the decor in the classroom will make you want to rip your hair out because of how drab and depressing it is, but it’s driver’s ed, so I get it. Overall, the teacher I had, Mr. Daryl was very competent and the class was as enjoyable as I think it could be, but I am glad that my 30 hours of sitting in a classroom is over. EDIT: I’m finished with all of my testing and road training, and my opinion of the school has dropped significantly. First of all, one of the driving instructors I had was incredibly stress-inducing and not at all helpful towards my learning. I actually had to pull over because I was beginning to have a panic attack. He did almost no teaching, he only criticized me. It was almost like some of the instructors were constantly “inconvenienced” by their students’ existence, which was evident in their demeanor. Secondly, during the Delta variant surge and after hurricane Ida, the communication between my family and the school completely broke down. One weekend, I was scheduled to have two different lessons and neither one of the instructors showed up with no warning from the school. I’m just really glad all of this is over. All of the male instructors I had were all very creepy with me and made me feel extremely uncomfortable being alone in the car with them. These instructors (especially the men) should be screened and taught about correct behavior with female students, especially the ones who are underage.

Fantastic experience: the class was efficient and simple! i drove with Mr Calvin and Mr.Darrell, and they were both so helpful and patient! I was very nervous to drive with an instructor, but they create such an understanding and comfortable environment!! the people at the office were so nice and welcoming as well! all in all, an amazing experience!!

Positive experience: Very nice office staff and the driving instructors are very helpful and timely. However, it takes forever for you to receive a call back. You call and leave a message for the scheduler. I usually have to call 3 or 4 times over course of a week in order to get the scheduler to call back. This last time, I called and emailed over 2 weeks and still have not heard back from a scheduler..

Fantastic experience: This review will be primarily based on my 8 hour behind-the-wheel lesson: Mr. Darrel was the best instructor anyone could possibly ask for. I have social anxiety I was very much at ease the entire time and I feel lucky enough to have had such a wonderful instructor. At first I wasn’t too confident in myself, but as minutes passed, I became comfortable with the vehicle. I learned a lot more than I expected and that’s because he explained everything thoroughly. He even advised me routes to take in the future incase of a detour or some emergency. Also, I felt as if I was on my very own self-driven tour and he was my personal tour guide! Mr. Darrel was great and I wish everyone could have a chance with him. :)

Negative experience: Find another driving school before considering Victor manning. The communication is extremely poor. They will wait until AFTER they’ve taken your money to tell you about the huge backlog for their behind the wheel portion of the course. It’s been nearly 2 months and I still haven’t finished. Save yourself the trouble and the regret and just go somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: Overall , my experience was well at Victor Manning . The classes were long , but very informative and I passed my first time . Ms. Daphne was my in class teacher and Mr . Darrell was my behind the wheel instructor , both were extremely professional and helpful during this process . I will be recommending people here because of my positive experience with both these individuals .

Negative experience: One of my biggest regrets in life was choosing Victor manning. Service was extreme garbage, extremely expensive ($450) they don’t tell you all the DMV trips you have to make and end up paying extra for tip cards and such. Poor communication. No water or food was provided. Had to go somewhere to buy water and food. Your stuck in a hard stool all day every day for a week. I’m sure any other driving school would have been a 100% better choice. I personally had an awful condescending driving instructor. I’ve never wanted to jump out of a moving car so bad in my life. The guy only knew how to freak out and micromanage the situation. If I could rate them properly on here I would put 0 stars.

Negative experience: My 16 yr old son went in to take the road skills test, excited because he previously had very polite, personable instructors. However when he took it the instructor displayed nothing but rudeness and pettiness the whole way, which did nothing to improve my son’s confidence while driving. On top of already being a bit nervous, he was dealing with a rude instructor on the road. No respect at all. My son was failed for some reasons that had grounds, and some that did not. Overall very uncomfortable experience and did not make us feel welcome at all. He’s 16!!!

I will most definitely recommend this driving school to everyone, including my younger siblings. If you are looking for a place to get your drivers license, this is the place for you!
