Fantastic experience: You GUYS THIS IS WHERE ITS AT IF YOU NEED your License in a timely manner in the matter of 4 weeks I was able to get my 5 hr ,3 lessons a scheduled roadtest & passed my roadtest ! before my permit expired 10 days later ! THIS IS WORTH THE TIME AND MONEY IF YOUR SERIOUS CHARLIE & Norman GREATTT TEACHERS couldn’t have asked for a better way to get lessons thanks learn to drive school

Fantastic experience: This driving school is absolutely fantastic! They provide excellent, personalized instruction with patient and knowledgeable instructors. Charlie is incredibly helpful, responds quickly, and makes communication a breeze. I also loved how they scheduled a lesson right before my test—it was so convenient and well-planned. My instructor, Tim, was amazing, offering practical strategies and emphasizing safe driving habits, which helped me pass my test on the first try. I couldn’t recommend them more highly!

Negative experience: Terrible service very unorganized doesn’t know how to communicate properly I would never ever ever in. My life will go to this type of driving lesson ever. They called me one time to remind me about our appointment and then they canceled my appointment without me even knowing until I called terrible customer service terrible people terrible quality terrible car. Everything is just terrible about this place and I will not recommend this for any young new drivers ever.

Negative experience: Please do not go to this driving school. They are not operate in an professional mannner.They charged me money for 5 classes the first day and then cancelled on me twice, upon asking for my refund. They blocked my number and did not give me my remaining money for 3 classes and blocked my number and hang up on me. It's been 2 months and still haven't gotten my money back. Not a trusted and reliable place. Please DO NOT waste your hard earned money on them. Not worth it.

Fantastic experience: This place has great pricing and bundle deals that are much better than most places. Charlie is extremely helpful and very fast responses in my opinion. Very easy to communicate to the driving school. I love how they set up a lesson right before the test. I also want to mention my driving instructor Norman is the calmest instructor and very helpful in strategies to drive. It’s a very welcoming vibes I’ve gotten from this school. I have and will continue recommending it.

Negative experience: Horrible driving school. I called back in June for a road test, they told me it’s too early to schedule a test in August and I was like okay, they will let me know later like July. July rolls around and no call or nothing, I call and they tell me it’s too early, mind you I’m a college student so I believed that and I call today and they’re like why are you calling now since it’s August and I was like I been calling you for weeks and you guys say it’s too early each time. Extremely rude, dismissive behavior. Don’t take classes here. They wasted my two months, get your business somewhere else.

Negative experience: Very unprofessional. First of all, when I called, they didn't tell me that I had to bring cash. Then, when I got there, I found some lady (the teacher) very rude and she showed a bit of contempt for immigrants in her conversation, speaking in a derogatory manner about previous students. I left the place without taking the classes. I couldn't stand, to much for me

Negative experience: They are unprofessional, asked me to pay them extra $140 to take my 3rd road test even though the entire package fees was transferred to them on the 1st day of classes. They don’t have a proper system to communicate. Please look for driving school with better reviews and then join.

Negative experience: Who ever that lady is who answer the phone is terrible. The instructor didn't show up to the appointment we made even though I was texting him all morning to set it up. I call her to get in touch with him and she wouldn't let me speak and kept cutting me off. I just cancelled everything I don't need the stress when I'm trying to learn to drive

Negative experience: This school is unethical and unprofessional. My relative took the course and paid over Venmo then did not receive the certificate (still has not received 2 months later). The relative (a teenager) called multiple times themselves to address this and still did not receive. So we went to the address which is just a sign outside a church in Albany - no physical office space. So they called and asked for a supervisor and the person who answered the phone HUNG UP ON THEM. I called, asked for a supervisor - and THEY HUNG UP ON ME. I called back and got a machine and a message that the voicemail was full. This is unreliable and poor business practice at best.

Fantastic experience: Personal experience they taught my 16 year old daughter to parallel park and drive on the highway. She has more confidence in her driving. I recommend Mimi for learning to drive

Fantastic experience: My experience with Norman was an absolute gem! He helped me pass my road test after two unsuccessful tries, keeping me calm and focused throughout. His chill vibe and encouragement made all the difference. Despite my nerves, Norman told me to breathe. Thanks to him, I nailed it on my third attempt! I'd definitely recommend him 100%. However, I must say, the school could improve its communication with clients.

Fantastic experience: I took a few classes with Charlie before taking the exam. As someone with some driving experience, having Charlie as my instructor really helped boost my confidence for the exam. He was clear about the expectations of the exam and the practice was very helpful.

Negative experience: This place is so disorganized. The instructor never showed for the lesson. The person who answered the phone, when she does answer the phone, and she isn't at the post office or at lunch, claims to have no record of the appointment. Instructors may be fine, but we will never know.

Fantastic experience: I read every single other review before I decided to purchase this service, so you guys don't have to. As a 18 year old college student I will write about my experience so if you fit into that demographic then thats even better for you also if it helps my roommate also got his license with the help of this service, he said he really liked Norman I took my 5 hour course here, it was on zoom so very convenient, the woman gave us information about the test(forgot her name) and general road advice and it also wasn't a full 5 hours so good on time. Then I did the 4 lessons and used their vehicle for the test. My driving experience prior to the test was pretty limited(10-15 hours practice) and it had also been a long while since I had driven. I was a little unsure about how much driving lessons I needed and i'm sure it depends on the person, I had never parallel parked or done a k turn so yea. Tim was my instructor for 2/4 of the lessons and he was really good and his teaching style definitely would have been calming if I was nervous. He showed me how to do the things necessary for the test and described it in terms that emphasized how easy it is. My only tiny criticism with him was that when we practiced 3 point turns/parallel parking he would motion to me how to do the next step, which made me nervous that the memory wasn't 100% sticking (but still he is a great instructor, esp if you're nervous.) I have heard alot of good things about Norman and I only had one lesson with him which was my third lesson whenever I had te hang of things so refer to the other interviews to learn more about Norman, he was definitely chill and helped me to improve smoothness when switching lanes. On the day of the test I took it with Charlie, he was chill and we had a quick practice session then I drove to the test site, he warned me about the little stuff I was messing up on during our practice session (parking a little too far from curb, forgetting to look when K turning, etc) I took the test and then I passed (1st try) only getting 5 points off for being too far from curb. Now although the service did what it was supposed to do, here are the things I can nitpick about it : There was a slight lack of professionalism, which was minuscule enough for me not to care about, but the business gives mom&pop shop vibes and from what I read most of the bad reviews are something to do with that issue, but they are exaggerated significantly(from my experience), just make sure you keep in touch with them. The fact that they weren't so rigid also helped me out, because I wanted to pay in cash and they usually don't accept that form of payment but they allowed me to and also instead of mailing me my 5 hour certificate, they gave it to tim who brought it to me 5 minutes before my lesson with norman(he had a different lesson at that time). Even when I rescheduled one of my appointments I did not have any issues so yea that was good. The woman who answered the phone wasn't particularly rude but in the beginning of the conversation idk the vibe of the conversation was off, it was like she wasn't specifically mean but not like top tier customer service, it was increasingly better with subsequent calls so maybe it was just a bad time. - Also for anyone who is gonna take the test, just listen to the instructors here because all of them definitely will tell you what you need in order to pass.

Negative experience: My 5 hour pre lincese class lasted 2:45 minutes. I felt very rushed, and I left learning nothing. It was asked of the instructor to explain the 3 point turn, and she dismissively said, " If you want to know, you have to take my class." I feel like all I got from that class was a certificate. Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Learn to Drive School! I had very little prior experience driving, and I purchased the 4 45-minute driving classes and used their car for the test. This package was very affordable for me and worked great logistically, since I don’t have a car. They picked me up from my apartment and were always timely and communicative. Both teachers (Charlie and Tim) were excellent - they were patient, kind, and attentive during lessons. I had no experience in 3-point/K turns or parallel parking, and now am confident in my abilities. I was nervous to get behind the wheel at first, but ended up looking forward to my lessons. Happy to say I passed my test on the first try, thanks to them! I also did the 5 hour pre-licensing course with Susanne over Zoom. She was incredibly efficient and I learned so much from her in a short period of time! So grateful for Learn To Drive School!

Fantastic experience: Wow I am really really happy to write this review, I have tried the first test and I failed it, then I contacted learn to drive school, and Mr Charlie only put me on the road just for 1 hour and taught me how to drive and pass. And I passed, I highly recommend learn to drive school, they are the best.

Fantastic experience: Although I am from Schenectady, I chose "Learn to Drive School" since their rate was the most affordable. I signed up for the three lesson package and took lessons from Rhonda and Norman. They both did a great job. My first two lessons were separated by two weeks. I received a call informing me of the last lesson and road test that were scheduled for the following day. I reasoned that I might as well try it. On September 13th, 2023, I passed my driving test. This school would be a good choice if you suffer from anxiety and feel uneasy. They will provide you with precise recommendations regarding your readiness.

Fantastic experience: Great company I got 4 lessons and in those lessons I learned so much. I also passed my road test. My instructor was Norman, he’s literally the best. He made sure I was not speaking down on myself and he is very good at teaching you how to parallel park and 3 point turn. There was never a time I was sad during my lessons he always made sure I was smiling and feeling proud of my work.

Fantastic experience: When I started lessons I did not know how to drive at all, thanks to my instructor Tim I just got my driver’s license! Charlie does a great job at booking lessons, everyone is so kind, helpful and friendly, this is an amazing school!!

Negative experience: Honestly if I could give this place 0 stars I would, I had booked previously but had to cancel my first class because I was moving sooner then expected and would be farther from my old address. Now that I was finally established I decided to rebook with them a month in advance, the lady put me on the schedule and the days prior to my first class I didn’t receive a confirmation call, I was a little surprised but didn’t think much of it. It’s finally the first day still no call so I call them asking what’s going on. The lady tells me I was crossed out and the guy won’t take me because I canceled last time, I tried explaining to her it was because I had to move sooner than expected and she told me to go somewhere else and put me on hold for 5 minutes and didn’t respond. The least they could have done was tell me they weren’t going to take me in the one month period they had, unprofessional and rude

Negative experience: The ABSOLUTE WORST driving school in Albany. Their unprofessionalism is unmatched. I would call ahead and book my appointments and the same old lady oils pick up the phone and “schedule” my lessons. Then the day off, I call them to double check and they want to cancel my appointments. Then the same lady keeps “rescheduling” to random days just to cancel on those days too. Whole time she’s apparently not the one that takes care of scheduling…IF YOU’RE NOT IN CHARGE OF IT THEN WHY ARE YOU THE ONE ANSWERING THE PHONE It’s to the point where I ended up canceling my lessons package deal because all that stress made me not want to drive anymore.

Negative experience: These people are the worst people ever they will rip you off. They do not keep their appointments. If you happen to lose something they want you to mail a cash inside of an envelope. That way you can’t keep track of your money they can just take it and say they never received it. They said they do not do Zell they do not do cash app. These people are crooks do not use them. Do not use them. Do not use them. Do not believe the 4.1 stars it’s all a fake.

I had both Norman and Charlie with the 4 lessons I purchased and they did an amazing job explaining to me how to parallel park and do my K turns they are very patient and understanding. All around a great experience and I took my roast test today and passed thanks to them!! Don’t listen to any of these bad reviews!! The woman who first helped schedule all my lessons and 5hr was sweet and answered all my questions. The woman who does the 5hr is also very nice and explained everything perfectly. Everyone who works for learn to drive school are great people and I couldn’t have done it without them!

Negative experience: I agree with everyone who comments about "Diane" or the older woman's (who receives bookings) phone manner. She is absolutely horrifying and rude each time. She thinks she is in a debate club instead of schedule booking service for the clients. She is also disorganized and inadequate to carry out her responsibilities with her poor English and insufficient basic etiquette. All of their instructors were good, but such a shame because of this individual.

Negative experience: These driving instructors are a joke! I used there service n they would cancel after booking the appointment a month ahead. The secretary doesn’t keep the books just passes it to the drivers. They make you wait n hour n then get upset when your late. They don’t even do lessons on the st rules they tell you to read the handbook. I found a way better instructor right way driving that will tell you your blind spots, Your right way. And any training you need. Which they never Did. Learn to drive school will travel farther out for special ppl but yet make you come to Albany but travel to Troy for “ppl”. So much better now that I found a reliable knowledgeable Instructor.

Negative experience: I will be detailing my absolutely horrid experience at this company. I am not sure of the professionalism of the instructors so I will not comment there but I will address my experience dealing with appointments. First I will tell you that reaching out to this company is very difficult as the phone is never answered and the voicemail is always full. I have never called this company and have spoken to someone on the first try. My appointment was cancelled on the day of, less than two hours before my time which I forgave because the instructor called in sick that’s understandable. I reached out to reschedule and reconfirm my following appointment no answer so I reached out to the person who texted me to confirm my previous appointment that fell through. That person responded and walked me through a rescheduling . However in the midst of this I received a call from the company. They asked me what had happened and why I had called the company they were returning my call. I explained to them what had happened but the person was very confused and was not understanding what I was saying despite me explaining a couple of times. The receptionist was confusing for someone with the same name. Complaining that she didn’t have any of the correct information even though she was the one I had originally booked my appointment with. She also gave me someone else’s address and number while confirming mine. The receptionist continued to interrupt with questions that I had answered before and the conversation was getting tedious so I asked the receptionist to please stop interrupting so I could explain I think the interruptions are confusing you. These were my exact words the receptionist immediately got upset and verbally accosted me on the phone. I immediately cancelled all appointments. I won’t say this one incident makes this a poor company but I must say that it really discredits them. I hope you have a better experience with this company since this is one of the cheaper driving companies. They have a package deal that I was excited about however they make you pay upfront to the instructor at your first appointment. The person I spoke with through text message confirmed that the instructor would issue a receipt. I hope you make an informed decision when considering this company. I am also happy to post the text messages immediately if that would be helpful. *edit* I looked through the reviews and I will say that this receptionist is an elderly woman in her 70s. She told me that while yelling rude things. This is apparently not a one time thing she’s been rude to many customers. Praying for your unemployment.

Fantastic experience: Great experience with Learn to Drive School. Nice folks to work with on scheduling, and Charlie, the driving instructor was terrific! Patient and kind and helpful, as well as very communicative with us. My niece passed her road test after several failures and losing her confidence. Negative experience: My name is Elena, I want to share my feedback about the bad service. I scheduled a driving lesson, I was assigned a day, I waited two weeks, when the time came, it turned out that I was not on the schedule for that day, although I provided evidence. They did not even apologize to me and did not offer a new lesson in the next couple of days. I no longer consider this driving school as an option to get good service.

Fantastic experience: I have taken several lessons with Learn to Drive school. I have taken lessons with Tim who unfortunately no longer works there and Zina. I loved lessons with Zina! She was very welcoming and really patient with me, even when I didn’t understand a concept. I 100% recommend Zina! She is also really helpful if you prefer or need driving lessons with an instructor that speaks Spanish.

Negative experience: This was a really really bad experience for me. I did not appreciate the way I was belittled and the way I was treated. They gave me point for some things that I didn’t even mess do. They seemed miserable and caused me to have an anxiety attack and cry during the road test.

Fantastic experience: Had a wonder driver named Zina she showed me everything thing I need to know about the road. She every patient and wants you to master you driving. Looking forward to doing more classes with her.

Negative experience: Unprofessional! Sent the wrong meeting notice for the zoom class ( they sent the invite for the week before) and then didn’t answer when calling until 30 minutes after class started. Finally got in touch with someone and they said the entire zoom System was down and they couldn’t send another meeting invite and canceled the class. My daughter took off from work as did several others to attend.

Fantastic experience: My driving instructor’s name was Zina. She was very sweet and helpful. And very supportive throughout my lessons and my road test. I highly recommend her as your instructor .

Fantastic experience: I took a lesson here with Charlie and one with instructor Zina right before my road test and I'm sure I couldn't have passed without either. Zina was super comforting and helped me target parallel parking and three point u turn until I got it right and felt comfortable. She was extremely kind and nothing like any instructor I had back in the Bronx who don't take their job seriously. I appreciate Zina a lot for her patience and great conversation skills she was perfect to have right before the test.

Fantastic experience: A great experience with this driving school and instructor Zina. She is a highly competent instructor with patience and passion for teaching. I had the experience with three other instructors before her (including my husband) but still had difficulty with parallel parking. I only had one session before the road test with her and she asked me what I wanted in that session and she tailored her instructions exactly to my needs and very methodically taught me how to master it along with other necessary points. Negative experience: Disorganized. Still haven't gotten an actual lesson yet because twice now they've lost my appointment. It turns out another person named Michael canceled and they thought it was me. You'd think this sounds like the plot of a 90s sitcom but this is the actual reason I was given!

She has the right amount of patience and all to help you. I would recommend this place and having Zina as an instructor. She is truly amazing at what she does. She is very attentive, her lessons come tailored to your needs. She has the ability to make you feel comfortable, and she is very knowledgeable with the driving skills. She definitely ensures you know what to do so that you can easily gain confidence that’s needed on the road. She also possesses all the characteristics to be a great teacher. I am super excited now to take my road test with her advice.

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend this company! My son and niece, who are new drivers, had a great experience with Charlie. He made them feel so comfortable and really taught them so much about driving safely. He was friendly, calm, professional and helpful and he went out of his way each time and even took them near the testing site to review what to expect for their test. They really enjoyed Charlie (and had Tim once and liked him as well) and felt comfortable with him. My son just took his test yesterday and passed! My niece's test is coming up soon. They also took their 5-hour course through them as well. Bottom line is I would highly recommend Learn To Drive and I would definitely recommend Charlie!!!

Fantastic experience: For those of you who are looking for good driving instructor, I highly recommend Instructor Tim to you. I practiced five lessons with Tim. Then, I passed my driving license on January 26th, 2022. Honestly speaking, I have never seen such a friendly, patient, and detail-oriented driving instructor before. He is an extraordinary and outstanding teacher! Before I took his lessons, I was very nervous and fearful in driving. However, on the first day of the driving practice, he taught me how to calm myself and enjoy driving; eventually I succeeded. Long story short, if you want to enjoy driving and pass your driving test, you should definitely contact Tim. You would like him a lot! Also, thank you so much to Charlie for organizing the driving lessons for me. Charlie is very nice, clear, and always responds to my message timely.

Fantastic experience: I've had a great experience working with Zina. I am a very anxious driver and she has been very patient and helped build my confidence as.a driver. I struggled with parallel parking and she shared different techniques til we found one that worked for me.

Negative experience: Unprofessional no one showed up for my second lesson. I called to let them know what happen the lady didn’t know either the one I talked on the phone with and had rescheduled my lesson for another day. The day came and no one showed up again. Don’t waste your money. Paid 195 for no one to show up

Fantastic experience: I can’t talk about other instructors but I can definitely talk about Zina. Zina is a great instructor. She works with you , she’s patient and very clear with her instructions. I highly recommend her. I requested for her to be if possible my only instructor. She’s great. She knows what she’s doing and she maje you feel confident.
