Negative experience: If you want your driver to be someone that tailgates while flashing high beams to someone going 40 in a 35, this business is for you. If you want someone who doesn't drive recklessly and like a jerk go somewhere else.

Positive experience: The instructor was patient with my child during lessons. Car provided had a broken visor that affected visibility and instructor would hold it during the lessons if sun was strong. Unfortunately, visor was still broken during road test so on top of all the nerves, and the broken visor, my child failed road test. Called to inform the owner about broken visor and never received a call back, and it’s been almost a year. Today I received an email to review them, so here is your review! Take better care of your cars and call parents back when they contact you.

But my daughter drove with Gene driving school she drives the way she suppose to drive they showed her well. They even showed her properly what to do while approaching a yield sign. She taught me how to do everything I needed to know with absolute ease, and helped me pass my road test with flying colors! I wish I could turn back time and not go to the first place I went to! Negative experience: Hundreds of dollars down the drain and nothing to show for it-I told them my son wasn't ready and I was completely disregarded in an attempt at a cash grab they said they would be the judge and had him take the test anyway.He didn't even make it past the first obstacle Janine gave zero feed back only trying to force him to go through a process that would only waste his time and my money

Fantastic experience: gene’s driving school was the best! i had kenny for my 6 hours and the refresher course. he was very patient, never yelled at me, and he took his time walking me through whatever i found was harder. before the refresher course i forgot how to parallel park, and kenny spent hours practicing that with me. i ended up passing the road test with flying colors on my first try!! i highly recommend gene’s driving school!

Fantastic experience: My son had his 6 hours of instruction last year. Due to logistical reasons, he hadn't really been driving much while he had his permit. Long story short, his date for his road test crept up on us, and he was not well prepared at all (completely my fault). He hadn't even practiced parallel parking. Jeanine from the driving school picked him up that day and had my son practice for about an hour and a half prior to his road test. Imagine my suprise when he passed! My son said that Jeanine was great, he felt comfortable and confident with her, and that without her instruction and tips, he never would have passed. She was also extremely thorough, and will make sure both you and your young adult are well prepared for the big day. Would definitely use Gene's again, but I don't have anymore kids under 17 :-)

Fantastic experience: Amazing staff. We had an amazing experience with the 6-hour driving course. My 16 year old son feels confident on the road with me. 5 stars.

Negative experience: For my 6 hours, I had Kenny as my instructor; he was terrific, had an excellent conversation, and made me feel safe and comfortable behind the wheel. However, for my test, which is what matters, I had Jenine. She is a different story. Now I only did the remedial course to touch up on my parallel parking as I had everything else down. Unbeknownst to me, however, I would be learning much more! Such as what her students that failed did, what the same student did probably seven or eight times, and what others did even more so. As well as talking so much, I was such a nervous wreck up to and during my test; I failed during the first minute because my mind went blank! Furthermore, she wouldn't stop commenting and complaining about random things that had nothing to do with the $200 we paid her to do, which made me even more tense, agitated, and nervous than I already was. Lastly, after my test? Instead of encouraging me and empathizing after the tragedy that was my parallel parking, she just harped and repeated what I did wrong and acted confused when I was upset. I was not offered another chance to do the parallel parking. This review is not about my failure, as I am fully aware of what I did wrong; it is about the horrible experience with Janine and her constant, negative chatter. Also I very much so do NOT appreciate Janine calling my father and calling me a liar. Very unprofessional.

Positive experience: Did well with booking driving appts. took almost 6 weeks to get driving appointments. They were very busy, which is good! Did find it difficult to reach a person or to get return calls. Also very very slow in returning a persons call or messages.

Fantastic experience: I tried to get my driving license in NY before moving to NJ, and I failed my first road test for multiple reasons. After moving to NJ, a family member suggested Gene’s. My boyfriend took me there and paid for several lessons. I had the greatest of luck to be paired with Kenny. He is an amazing instructor. He never raises his voice or gets upset when you make mistakes. He is extremely patient, informative, and will believe in you enough to even make you believe in yourself. I got my license today, thanks to him. The rest of the staff are also extremely kind and friendly. I highly recommend this school. This is coming from someone who never thought she’d be able to drive steadily on the road or get a license.

Fantastic experience: My son used Gene’s for lessons and we were very pleased with the instruction he received. We were able to get it all done in a weekend and he now has his permit and is driving. I, myself, used Gene’s when I needed lessons and it’s just as good now as it was then.

Fantastic experience: I can't say much about the entire school as a whole, but from what I know about the driving instructor I was assigned to I can safely say he's great at doing his job. In only 6 hours worth of driving I was able to get used to various controls and movements, as well as adapt to road conditions, while staying relaxed most of the time. And I probably couldn't have done so if I didn't enroll here. So yeah, if you want to learn driving this is a pretty good place to start.

My daughter had never been behind the wheel and he took his time to show all the functions in the car and then he put her behind the wheel and had her driving confidently on the highway by the end of the session. After 3 sessions, I felt confident to take her out myself! Will be using Anthony for the driving test as well.

Fantastic experience: I paid for a 6-hour behind the wheel instruction that was divided into 3 sessions of about 2 hours each, I was a little anxious about it but my instructor Noah, from the beginning was an easy going person, very patience and made me feel comfortable while driving both which helped me to get confident and pass successfully. Negative experience: Unfortunately we had two issues with them. The person at the front desk misinformed us about the use of our car for the test so we had to reschedule. Then when my daughter took the test after the refresher with them, she did not pass due to being asked to do the type of parallel parking she wasn't shown by them. The owner only admitted to errors after filing with the BBB.
