911 Driving School Lakewood: Reviews
Positive experience: Very polite and answering my questions.
Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience with Lee Ann at 911 Driving School. She was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and made me feel at ease behind the wheel. Her clear instructions and helpful tips boosted my confidence after I failed the first time and improved my driving skills significantly to pass it the second time around. I highly recommend Lee Ann and 911 driving school to anyone looking for a great driving instructor and a reliable driving school!
Fantastic experience: Was here today for my driving test and i passed first time! Thanks to the INCREDIBLE instructor called PAUL. He was calm friendly and accomodating; gave me a view of how the test would be conducted before we hit the road. I felt confident and calm to proceed and indeed i made it the FIRST TIME! As if that is not enough,Paul was gracious enough to walk me through the points i missed during the test! I was glad to meet him and i know my skills behind the wheel will improve from the insights he shared after the test. I'd RECOMMEND anyone to take their tests here and cross your fingers that on your road test day; heavens open and you meet PAUL! Such a nice gentleman and a good instructor.
Fantastic experience: My experience taking my skills exam here was great! My instructor, Lee Ann made me feel comfortable and confident throughout the exam. After we got done, she explained thoroughly the minor mistakes I made but I’m proud to say I passed and she seemed genuinely happy for me too. Overall great experience I left with a smile on my face!
Negative experience: Some of the employees are very rude and inconsiderate and insensitive the ones that are rude dont want to see you do better they just criticize you for not knowing even though the whole point of this is to learn got yelled and screamed at for making small mistakes when it should have just been marked I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemie highly unprofessional nobody should have eyes rolled when someone asks a question about safety i asked to confirm and she rolled her eyes at me and micro managed everything i did even though I was told before it wasnt bad just needed to focus on smaller things
Shaidae, we are sorry you failed your drive test. Our vehicles do have cameras that record. I did watch your skills test. Unfortunately when you are taking a test, that is not "the whole point of this is to learn" when you are taking a test. When you are taking the test, it is assumed that you already have been taught how to drive, so the learning portion is not taking place during testing. The learning portion takes place in our drivers education program or through private drives. You were scored correctly on the test. I would like to speak with you regarding being "yelled and screamed at for a small mistake", I did hear the examiner raise her voice when the vehicle was about to strike the curb during a right turn and she grabbed the wheel, but I did not hear her yell or scream during the recording. Your review makes it sound like there was more than one employee you were talking about and I would like to discuss that with you incase there was something that was not on the video. Please give us a call so we can discuss the test and the testing process. Good luck with your driving.
Fantastic experience: I just got my license this is a good driving school coming from a student
Negative experience: The front desk people were very nice I'm very supportive. The instructor, Leeann, however was very rude and had a bad. Instantly failed me after testing me for 10 mins. Will never go here again
Fantastic experience: Did my drivers test twice here with Lee Ann. Best instructor, very kind and patient, I did fail the first exam due my own mishaps but she went out of her way to explain what I could've done better, demonstrated it, and gave me a video to watch over before my next exam. 2nd attempt I passed! Thanks to her tips from last time! Overall satisfied by my experience here!
Positive experience: Lee Ann was my examiner during my test, and she was great. She wasn't too strict on her scoring, and I definitely could've gotten a lower score had she not been so lenient and patient. The test overall was very short, and it probably took me only 15 minutes even though my appointment was 30 minutes long, so it was over in the blink of an eye. Good luck to whoever is taking their road test!
Fantastic experience: 911 Driving in Lakewood was excellent. I was a deer in headlights with test anxiety and Leanne put me at ease instantly, showed me where I had developed poor habits and helped me to correct them. I highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: Thank you so much to my examiner, Mike, who calmness help relieve my nervousness during the exam. Also, thank you to the ladies at the front desk who took care of me when I arrive. I never imagined taking an exam would be such a positive experience!!!
Fantastic experience: Would definitely recommend coming here for knowledge testing and drive test. Lee Ann is the best instructor to have for the drive test also, didn’t pass my drive test on the first try and that was only because I had some bad habits, but she went over my bad habits with me after my first attempt and showed me how to fix and break those habits. She got me rescheduled for a new testing date two days later because she had so much faith in me. Came back for my retest and she sat and went over my bad habits with me again before the test and I actually passed that time because she took the time to go over my mistakes with me and explained how to correct them. 10/10 would recommend.
Negative experience: Waste of time and money
Negative experience: I went in for my drive test today and when i first walked in i spoke with leanne, she was incredibly rude right off the bat about a mistake the DOL made with my permit. when i started the drive test everything was okay, i wasn’t great at reversing which is fine but after the test she repeatedly told me how much i suck at reversing, i’m talking like 3-4 times repeatedly. she made me feel like absolute garbage. 911 driving school as a business teaching young minds should not destroy confidence rather instill it. i barely passed and looking at my sheet it doesn’t look like she even tested me on everything. if you go and your driver instructor is leanne i definitely urge you to ask for someone else or reschedule. definitely not okay the way she spoke to me, and by looking at reviews, most people as well.
Fantastic experience: I just did my driving test here and Leann was my tester. she was so kind and patient , she really made me feel at ease and comfortable during the test. She has around 35 years of experience in this industry! I would highly recommend 911 driving school Lakewood for anyone looking to get their license. Thanks to everyone at 911 !
Fantastic experience: Ms. Leean was very very very helpful with my process of getting my license . She kept me encouraged and informed about what I had messed up on at the of the process 10/10 recommended.
Negative experience: Leann was very rude as soon as I came in, rushing me and telling me I was supposed to be there 20 minutes before which I wasn’t told when scheduling my appointment. I failed the test, which I understand why and feel confident I’ll pass the next time but at the end of the test she asked me “where are your parents” which my father isn’t in my life and my mom has major anxiety so practicing with her is difficult, she also told me “ you didn’t go thru drivers ed huh I can tell”
Fantastic experience: I take my driving test with 911 Driving school since I don't have a car and it won't great no problems I would recommend family or friends to them if they need to drive school, write a test or drive test
Thank you!
Fantastic experience: Mike is a very good driving monitor, does not raise his voice at little infractions or any infractions and has a very calming tone. Awesome guy !
Negative experience: You made my day so bad! I arrived late because there was a fire on my way that I had to reroute, I was only few minutes late, and that lady with white hair yelled at me as soon as I arrived in front of all the people inside 911 office! I was startled but I tried to be polite (asians are polite fyi), I said my sorry and explained a bit about the fire, but she kept yelling at me! she rushed me to my car asked everything she wants me to show her, hurried me to drive while I was just so silent and still feeling nervous about her and her attitude! and just as I thought she failed me! a 15yrs driver from my country with good record. just how bad the day was!
Negative experience: I will never recommend this school My wife went for driving test and she was treated rudely by one of their old white lady instructors "Lee Ann". My wife felt so discriminated. She failed on her score for unreasonable reasons.(?) She was 6 min late because of accident/fire along the way and that Lee Ann with wasn't accepting her apologies and that she was RUDE, sounded aggravated to my wife , that old lady needs to go somewhere else.. I thought that this school is good but was wrong about it. It's not friendly environment, sucks... I won't recommend that driving school at all..
Fantastic experience: shoutout to luis my guy, hopefully u get luis for the drive!
Negative experience: Do not sent your child here for their actual drivers test. The woman fails every kid repeatedly. She failed my son for backing around a corner... we practiced for 3 weeks he was perfect at it by the time we went back. Guess what... she failed him again for the same reason. I also saw her fail a kid right before his test on BOTH occasions that he went. its a money making scheme. your kid will not pass here! go to the dol instead!
Fantastic experience: I did my drivers test with Lee Ann, genuinely the kindest but most helpful instructor. Her instructions and directions were clear and she was overall amazing. 10/10 would recommend this school for either drivers ed or just your drivers test.
Fantastic experience: Lee Ann was the first instructor to take me out for my drive test and although I failed it the first time she explained in detail the things I missed & even wrote them down so I could practice and work on those things. She is amazing, nice and very patient. Mike was the second instructor to take me out for the retake drive exam and I passed! He was very patient too & friendly and gave me pointers on the things I missed and how to correct them when I am out driving. I highly recommend 911 driving school for any teens or adults like myself who are ready to become a licensed driver. :)
Negative experience: I had my road test yesterday. The instructor was speaking Spanish to me in the middle of the test and I didn't understand him. I am not Hispanic by the way I don't know why he assumed I was. His instructions weren't clear at all. I got over the awkwardness and I was doing decent. Then towards the end he wanted me to park and I was slowing down to make a turn and then he hysterically freaked out he thought I was going to stop in the middle of the road. I was just slowing down to make a turn. Last time I checked you don't make a sharp turn while going 30 mph. The whole time he was being rude and impatient rushing me. Then he made be drive back to the 911 location. I spoke with my friends after they failed a driving test or the instructor deemed their driving as a "dangerous action". Then they all said that the instructor should drive the vehicle back not the test taker. So if I committed a "dangerous action" according to him then why make me drive 6 minutes back to the 911 location. Shouldn't he have taken control of the vehicle instead? It seems rather unprofessional.
Fantastic experience: I recently passed my drivers test and Lee Ann was my instructor, she was the best. Didn’t feel like I was being pressured at all. I wasn’t feeling nervous much and plus I’ve seen great reviews about Lee Ann, I felt more confident having her as my instructor. I want to thank Lee Ann for being my instructor.
Negative experience: Leanne, the lady at the front explicitly called me out to test-takers in the lobby for PAYING to start my classes during an inconvenient hour. I paid over 600 dollars up front to be yelled at the moment I got into the front desk. She was not the person servicing me, but she blamed me from her side of the desk for wasting other people’s time simply because I was being a customer during BUSINESS hours. I did not intend to waste test takers time but I’m literally engaging in business just to be treated like I’m unworthy. I spent maybe 5 minutes getting a run down on my upcoming classes and requirements and was clearly being a customer during BUSINESS hours. Henry, one of my instructors deserves praise however as he was one of the kindest souls I ever met who taught me how to pass my test first try. However, as a PAYING customer I should not be treated like trash before I’m even enrolled into the classes. It was her assumption that because I’m young and was enrolling for class I’m unworthy of being treated with decency, but without customers, YOU Leanne would be out of a job. This incident happened October 2022.
Negative experience: Worst place with rude service. Unhelpful don’t go.
Positive experience: Can not say enough great things about Lee Ann! She was my instructor the 3rd time (lol yeah third.) When I failed and felt extremely discouraged to go again Lee Ann made me feel confident enough to give it another try as soon as I could. she was patient and knowledgeable, helped me by reviewing my mistakes and going over the things I could do better. She gave me the push I needed to keep trying and feeling safe on the road. Thank you Lee Ann for teaching me how to parallel park <3
Negative experience: The place overall isn’t that bad but the prices are kind of ridiculous and not to mention me most recently experiencing was not so good. I was taking a on road driving test the instructor I can tell was in a rush by how she did the blinker test. She even rushed me too turn out of the parking spot also she was huffing and scoffing the whole ride and after the test she was extremely rude about everything now I understand nobody has to be kind or nice but she didn’t even attempt too give any hold back she also said out her mouth “ you obviously didn’t take drivers ed” which makes no sense because people who take drivers ed still don’t pass mind you it was my first try nice place but won’t be going back.
Positive experience: I failed 2 times knowledge test My question is why they didn't show you which question you failed? How can I believe that I failed. So sad . I cried the second time I failed and I know I do well
We are sorry you failed the test. We are an administer of the testing for the Wa. Department of Licensing. They provide the test and the rules on how it is administered. We are not allowed to let applicants review the test questions that they missed per DOL policy. Each time you take the test; it will be a different version. Our recommendation is to keep studying the DOL drivers guide, here is the link: https://www.dol.wa.gov/sites/default/files/2022-11/driverguide-en.pdf Good luck in the future.
Negative experience: I had a very bad experience with the examiner this week she was rushing me to finish the knowledge test way before time saying that there was another class coming in and at the end of it all told me that I have an attitude because I requested to recheck my work after finishing my exam which I finished way before time I was subjected to a lot of humilation .
Ms. Thairu, we apologize for your recent experience at our Lakewood location. We will be addressing the issue and giving you a phone call to talk further about the matter. Again, we apologize and one of our goals is good customer service. We will stay in touch as to what is done to try and rectify the situation. Have a great weekend.
Fantastic experience: Louie is a fantastic driving instructor! He made sure that students were prepared for their driving tests.
Negative experience: Terrible company. Can’t schedule drives always overbooked. Takes 6 months to get 5 drives scheduled. But want to say on the form you need to have everything completed in 8 weeks. Crooked company. Just find another driving company. And save yourself time and money.
Greetings Mr. Swiberg, we looked up your last name in our system and did not find an active student with that last name. We are sorry you are not satisfied. We would be happy to discuss your situation and discuss where you saw the 8 weeks completion. Our website states a 1 year completion. The whole driving school industry is back logged with customers and on the first page of our website we state "(PLEASE NOTE, AS WITH MANY BUSINESSES, WE ARE SHORT STAFFED AND ACTIVELY HIRING. IF YOU SIGN UP FOR A DRIVER EDUCATION COURSE YOU WILL NEED TO BE PATIENT IN GETTING YOUR ONE ON ONE DRIVES COMPLETED)". We again would like to discuss your situation. Please call the school at 253-512-0911 during business hours so we can assist you.
Fantastic experience: im pretty bad with names, but I think it was Kathy who conducted my knowledge and driving tests. she is the best
Fantastic experience: Both my kids have gone through 911 driving school. The instructors are great teachers. The drive instructions that the kids get are great point of reference for when having to drive with the parents. My son just finished his road test to get his license with Luis. He was great, very personable, and friendly. I would recommend this school for anyone looking to learn how to drive.
Negative experience: They are tracking people to fail then again reschedule to get money
I'm sorry you feel this way. We are a reputable business and would never fail someone to just get more money from them. We are contracted by the State of Washington to administer skills tests and we have strict criteria on which to test applicants. We have to adhere to those requirements. As a school we are audited by the State once a year and our examiner's are also subject to yearly audits to test their grading skills.
Fantastic experience: Hands down the best driving school! Luis made sure my daughter was mentally prepared to be a safe, skilled driver, not just take our money and send her out to the wolves. Thank you for your commitment to ensuring kids coming out of your program are truly ready. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Negative experience: I'm so glad this experience is over. My daughter started classes in June and just passed her test to get her license in November. The biggest issue is that you need five driving sessions, but they only let you book three at a time and are always fully booked two months out. To get a session within a reasonable time, you have to log in multiple times a day and pray for a cancelation. We got lucky once. Also, when she did get a driving session, they are not the full amount of time. My daughter was ready for pick up 15-20 minutes early every time. That's over an hour of driving instruction she missed, but was paid for because the instructors returned early. Staff was always nice, but for the amount of money the class costs, then testing fee... the scheduling issue has to change.
I'm so sorry you had a bad experience. Please call the school and ask to speak to Julie. I would be happy to address your concerns. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: Great experience, I had Lee Ann as my instructor and she was patient with me and made me feel comfortable! They squeezed me into what time they had (as I have a busy schedule). Thank you 911 Driving school!
Fantastic experience: Satisfying experience. Staff members are very helpful and friendly. I took personal course with Dan and he was the best part of all. Dan really care about your improvement and super patience when you got things wrong. Just took the road test with him today, he made me feel at ease and not stressful at all. Clear instructions and friendly communication. Highly recommend new driver to learn with him.
Fantastic experience: Good
Fantastic experience: I had my skills/drive test with Luis Marin and he was amazing. He was caring and helped me calm down before and encouraged me afterwards even when I passed. Also everyone else in the building was amazing. They were kind and very friendly.
Thank you for the great review. Luis is a great Instructor and Examiner.
Positive experience: Hello, from 10 to 100, what score do you pass the driving knowledge test with?
The Department Of Licensing requires an 80% on both the knowledge and skills test to pass.
Fantastic experience: This is the best school, the staff is amazing. The instructors are very experienced professionals. I will definitely recommend to any one in need. Thank you Dan
Fantastic experience: Staff was professional, and good company while waiting. Quick and proficient. Driving instructor/ trainer was awesome. To the point when necessary but extremely nice. Definitely a good experience.
Fantastic experience: Being an adult and learning how to drive is hard. This school made it so easy and the instructor that I had Dan absolutely amazing. He made things simple he had the plan. I didn’t have to worry about anything it was incredibly helpful and in about five private lessons I got my license and I’ve been waiting so long to get it because I was worried and he and the school made it so easy. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: Overall, I had a positive experience with 911 Driving School. My instructor, Paul, was knowledgeable and patient, and I felt confident and comfortable while performing to drive under his guidance. He critiqued my driving performance fairly and was very professional while doing so, he explained the things that I did wrong and that I could improve on to be a safer driver on the road, which is very important. However, I did have some issues with the school's receptionist. They were not as friendly or helpful as I would have liked, at least the one that I was on the phone with. Overall, I would recommend 911 Driving School for their driving instruction, but suggest that the phone operators/receptionist to demonstrate increased levels of patience...
Negative experience: Graham location is 100 times better in every way.
Negative experience: Poor overall experience. Nearly every conversation was about money and not about the student, instruction, or how to improve. The instruction my son received was terrible. That’s not my opinion, that’s their results. Basic instruction plus extra drive lessons yielded zero feedback from the myriad instructors and progressively worse performance on each successive test - still no license. One examiner harassed and rushed my son so much he was flustered before they left the parking lot… “But please come back again.” I think not. Good money after bad. South Sound Driving School has a 5 star rating, it’s a farther drive, but I’ll take my business there. You should too.
Negative experience: If you need to get your written test go directly to DOL literally around the corner from them and take it for $25 and you have 2 tries per that payment. I called them to ask them what the procedure was because before there was no place literally to take my oldest to test. Anyways they flat lied to me and told me I had to have my son take it there that the dmv doesnt do testing still and it would be 30 bucks for one test. So I had to book an appt then. So I went to the dol to get a book for him and to find out they do testing for 25 bucks and you have two tests under that price. So irritated I went next door to cancel appointment and get a refund. It is not refundable and you are out of money regardless. My son had to take the test because I had already paid for it. The Dol told me that it is a waste of money because if you dont have a valid I'd I was told by 911 driving we had to purchase an I'd from dol then come back to them for test which paid and then get the updated I'd once you pass the test. They are crooks. Dont go there and do your research before you waste your money.
Negative experience: If I could I wouldn’t give this place a single star my wife scheduled a test and she was 5 minutes late and instead of just taking her they told us she couldn’t take it and she would have to reschedule and also pay the $60 again I asked about a refund then and they denied that also so we rescheduled and she got an older white lady with red hair who failed my friend 3 times and when he got a different instructor he passed but he said she always had an attitude so my wife got her and she said the same thing about the lady and how she was rushing her to do things I wasn’t there in the car but I went in to talk with the lady about what happened and she was being very rude about the situation and she tried to talk about how she doesn’t just fail people for money yea okay and the way she was talking she was being very rude toward me she is not professional at all and I can’t believe you let someone like that work there
Sir, We have looked into your situation. The "5 minutes late" complaint you mention was in July and it was more than 5 mins late, we have lobby and car cameras. Today, your wife failed the test. I spoke to both the Examiner and the front desk staff that witnessed the verbal transaction between you and the Examiner. The front desk staff stated that the Examiner was polite and tried to explain the test to you but that you started using profanity while in the lobby. We are running a driving school where the majority of the customers are 15 year old students. We would recommend taking your business elsewhere.
Fantastic experience: I was so nervous about my sister's driving test because of the bad reviews. But our experience was very good. Dan was really nice and friendly. I recommend this location for the driving test. Thanks Dan!!!
Fantastic experience: My daughter took the drivers Ed course and test from another school in town and had a very negative experience with the instructors. They were rude and extremely unhelpful when she failed their drivers test. We tried 911 and let me tell you that LeAnn is an absolute gem. She identified all the areas my daughter needed to improve so that she knew what to practice and pass the test! She was so encouraging. I highly recommend Lakewood 911!
Negative experience: DONT GO HERE!! Everyone single person is rude, not professional, you have to pay upfront $80 just to schedule an appointment & if you have to cancel/ reschedule for any reason they HAPPILY keep your $80 with a big smile on their face, haters! Go to 20/20 driving school I promise you it’s way better, completely friendly positive attitude people , happy examiners & literally half the price to take the test with their vehicle & I paid after the test if I had to cancel/ reschedule no money lost! So thank you 911 driving school your poor service made me look elsewhere.
Fantastic experience: The gals in the front and Leanne, my driver evaluator for my skills test were wonderful! We dont live in the Lakewood area, but based in on my experience and the way they make you feel at ease, I will be enrolling my son for their driver education course! Thank you guys!!!
Fantastic experience: I worked with Dan consecutively over a couple of months. Prior to starting with Dan I was terrified of driving I had a genuine phobia. I now enjoy driving not only was Dan kind with amazing energy he was also very serious about me having the proper tools for success. I will be very honest it takes hard work dedication and ask questions! If I could learn anyone can , thank you 911 driving school, and your very kind receptionist.
Thank you for the great review. Dan is a good instructor and we are so glad that you have overcome your fear of driving and now enjoy it. Please stay safe and do not hesitate to ask any questions about driving. We will pass on your appreciation of Dan and the front desk staff. Thank you.
Negative experience: It wasn’t made obvious on their website that I was signing my son up for a virtual only class. My son has learning disabilities and does not do well virtually. He is in a zoom call where there is 1 instructor with 50 kids!! All the instructor does is put slides on the screen and reads them, while offering anecdotal stories. There is ZERO personal instruction or contact, even considering my son hasn’t passed ANY of the quizzes. I’m paying full price for something I could do a better job at here at home. My son is terrified to get behind the wheel for practice because he doesn’t understand what to do and now I’m stuck having to teach him all the info for the written test while convincing him to get in the car with me so he can eventually get in one with the instructors at the school. No way I should pay full price for this! ** In regards to the response I received. The zoom information is now on the site but only AFTER you select a course. That information is no where on the main page or class description. I believe there was a *now offering in-person and virtual classes* when I first looked you up, and thought it was signing him up for in-person. I was only made aware of the zoom after I signed him up. I responded to the welcome email asking about the zoom link they provided, stating I thought it was in person and that my son has special needs. I received no response. I’ve called the school multiple times regarding this, including the first day of class, and was never offered an option to change him to an in person class. I asked to speak with his instructor and was told I couldn’t and to just call the main number with my questions. He only has one class left so doesn’t do us any good to switch him now, except that he keeps failing his quizzes. Even with zoom there should be options for kids who are struggling, and the instructor should know who they are based off of their test scores. Zoom should be at least half price since your packing twice as many kids into one class with no direct interactions with the instructor
Mrs. Kroll, I'm sorry you are having a bad experience. We list on our website prior to enrolling in the course the following, "Waiver Available 08/06. DOL testing is not included in our courses. DOL knowledge and skills testing can be purchased for an additional fee. Please note that classes will be conducted in a timely manner through Zoom, however, we are experiencing a back log of student drives due to COVID-19. The DOL has lifted course completion restrictions during the pandemic. We appreciate your patience and understanding during these times." We do have In-person classes that we can transfer your Son to. The in-person classes state this on our website, "** IN PERSON CLASS NOW AVAILABLE** Waiver Available 08/17. DOL testing is not included in our courses. DOL knowledge and skills testing can be purchased for an additional fee. Please note that classes will be conducted in a timely manner however, we are experiencing a back log of student drives due to COVID-19. The DOL has lifted course completion restrictions during the pandemic. We appreciate your patience and understanding during these times." We can transfer your son to an In-person class if the timing works for you. Our office number is 253-512-0911. We'd be glad to assist you in fixing this.
Negative experience: rude staff always go somewhere else.
Positive experience: I did both my written and driving test here and it was awesome. For someone who wants a legit and we’ll earned license this is the place to go. After passing my written test, I paid for one in-structural drive then took the test. I failed the first time but got it the second time. The receptionist Terry was very kind both on call and physically. Unfortunately I can’t remember my instructor’s name, but he was a male, kind and approachable. Him being approachable gave me psych to redo my test the same day. One thing to note is that, they may come out as very strict but I believe they have good intentions in heart.
Negative experience: Extremely unprofessional! First off, let me be very clear: I was not the person taking the test or needing services from this place. As an aside, if you make an appointment here, be aware that they are completely inflexible and you will lose your money you paid up front and have to pay again for another appointment. From the get go, the business is not what I would call customer centered. Someone was borrowing my car and my car is fully capable and legal. The woman administering the test at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday as of this review was LATE to the appointment. She was snappy as soon as she appeared for the appointment. One of the first things I heard her say was "I'm already late for my next appointment", in a very sharp tone (as if her current appointment wasn't important). When she asked for paperwork, the person who was borrowing my car provided it but then the woman said she needed my registration. I began to get it and she barked out "hurry up, I have another appointment." If I didn't care about the person who was getting the driver's test, I would have bit her head off talking to me like that... Who the heck does she think she is talking to someone like that! She spent only 10 minutes with the person taking the test and failed them... How comprehensive! I don't recommend this place.
Positive experience: (Edit) Thankfully, my owner called me personally and rectified this mistake. He was incredibly respectful and explained to me that I was indeed correct in my assertion. I was able to get another test for free to make up for this problem. The call happened not too long after my review as well, quite quick! As a person in the customer service industry, I understand that there are many indignant customers that will retaliate when they're at fault for their mistake and I'm glad I was not looked over as another customer in the wrong. Changed my review from 2 stars to 4 stars. (Original) My instructor that I took private lessons with, Dan, was a great instructor. He was able to explain many intimidating things about driving and ease my worries by doing so. One thing I really enjoyed was getting out of the car to measure the distance, as it really helped to put into perspective measurements and distance when driving. It is unfortunate though that the driving test examiner that I had, Leeli(?) was an awful examiner. She did not mark up many portions of my score sheet so I was unable to realize what I needed to focus on, and marked me down for an automatic disqualification that I cannot find any info about online. I was apparently disqualified for a failure to yield to oncoming traffic when backing around a corner, but there was no oncoming traffic within my lane. The car that passed was on the opposite lane, going the opposite direction and without a turn signal in my direction. I cannot find any info on multiple websites (INCLUDING THE WASHINGTON DOL SITE!) that you must stop for traffic on the opposing lane when backing around a corner. And the worst part is, I stopped beforehand as well! So either the Washington DOL site and their approved videos somehow forget to mention this crucial part of backing around a corner, or she disqualified me for a reason that does not exist as an instant disqualification. She was also very rude, as I would often ask clarifying questions for directions or repeat what she said so I was making sure I was making the right turns. She appeared to not like this however, as she seemed increasingly indignant over the testing period as I did so. She seems like a person who'd prefer to fail a future driver because it means more money flowing into the business rather than failing them because they truly failed the test. Use your hard-earned cash at a more deserving business, or at the very least make sure your driving test examiner is not Leeli(?) when scheduling. You'll save money by doing so.
Fantastic experience: this place was amazing, and i had a great teacher- dan. learned tips and tricks, and i don’t drive like i’m in mario kart anymore. 1000% recommend.
Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience here. Leann was absolutely wonderful. She patiently went over everything that would be on the test beforehand in great detail and ensured that I had no questions before starting. I've had less than pleasant experiences with some of the other driving schools in the Tacoma area and was dreading taking this test today. Everything about my experience here was fantastic. This is the place to go.
Positive experience: As long as you keep your own personal record then you'll have no problem! They seem to have issues with there computers alot and lose information. So paid for the 6 course and we only got 5 and make sure you get your certificate when finished. (Never received mine)
I'm sorry you had issues with records. This is something we can easily look up to see which course you paid for. Course completion certificates have not been issued for years because they are electronically entered through the DOL computer system (to keep a more paperless system).
Negative experience: Much better than 911 Tacoma, but still lacking. They didn't email me back (while having a back and forth conversation where I asked a question about any possible accomodations for my PTSD) which was extremely unprofessional. Both this business and the Tacoma business lied to me about the windows having to be cracked because of CDC guidelines. The person who tested me was very nice, however.
Fantastic experience: Leanne was a great instructor! But BE CAREFUL…she is Sharp and sees everything lol overall experience was definitely great. Thanks guys!
Fantastic experience: Being my second zoom class they made everything easier for an older gentleman. They were professional and knowledgeable. I like the video that was included as it was local and of excellent quality.
Thank you for the review. We are happy your experience went well.
Fantastic experience: I had an overall stellar experience with Lakewoods 911 Driving School. I took both my written and drive test here. I want to personally thank Lee Ann at 911 Driving School in Lakewood, WA. She was pleasantly professional and highly knowledgeable, helpful and efficient in her way of teaching. I enjoyed her guidance throughout my drive so much that I told her I wouldn't mind her being my actual GPS lol. She even took time after both my written and drive tests to let me know what I'd need to do for my next steps on attaining my drivers license. I highly recommend all drivers, new, old, and young to come here. I'll never forget this experience and I'm forever thankful for my experience here. :)
Thank you for the review. We are pleased you achieved your goal. Drive Safe!
Fantastic experience: The private lessons they provide have been very helpful. Dan, the instructor thought me a lot of things nesecery for driving safely and the things I learned from the lessons prepared me for the driving test.I recommend taking the private lessons.
Fantastic experience: Took my drive test the instructor was very clear and professional
Fantastic experience: Professional and knowledgeable instructors. I absolutely recommend the pre-test. The instructors really work to put you at ease while remaining professional. I had failed two test previously. Passed at 911 the first time!!
Good job on passing your test. Thank you for leaving a review.
Fantastic experience: Hey! I would like to leave a review about this organization. On September 20, I passed my driving test, my instructor was Lee Ann. I want to say thank you very much to her for her good attitude and kindness. Special thanks to the entire 911 team, especially your employee Ulyana. She helped me a lot with paperwork and signed me up to the best instructor, Lee Ann. My husband took the exam a year ago at this address. And he liked it very much too. We are very grateful to you. You are the best!!! Elena Bekmamedova.
Thank you for leaving a review. We hope you have a safe and long driving experience.
Negative experience: Hidden charges everywhere. Never once told us there was a time limit to schedule drives, then charged $54 to schedule final drive when we'd already paid them $100 extra for the one bonus drive in the first place. Also lied about how much the no show fee was. Were told $40 and billed $50 when we missed one drive due to weather. On top of $700 for the class, we had to pay $50 more for the written test- which he failed the first two tries and had to pay ANOTHER $50. Then it's $75 more for the driving test- that apparently you can't just take at the DMV around here, you're required to test through these schools. It's a sham. Also the old guy driving instructor was absolutely rude to my kid every time he had him.
All of our fees are clearly printed in the enrollment form you signed. Yes there is a time limit if you wait a year to complete the course. I'm not sure how you can miss a drive on weather when it has rained twice in a 3 month period. Training is separate fees than testing. They have never been one and the same in our business. All of our costs are clearly posted on our website and policies. Your child gets 40 hours of training from us, 35 from classes and 5 hours driving, that equates out to $15.63 an hour for training ( $625 divided by 40 hours.). That is barely minimum wage. So I not sure how you are confused about our prices. I'd love to talk more about it because some of these prices you are mentioning are no where in our system.
Fantastic experience: Overall a great experience! Staff was very helpful and friendly. The whole process of setting up a knowledge and driving test was fast and smooth. I had this instructor named Dan. His personality and how went about helping me not to be so nervous was a big help. He just helped me feel calm and gave me more confidence when It came to the drive. Helped me with questions I had. Overall just a great instructor. Your the man Dan lol
Negative experience: The instructor ended the test immediately after one mistake so you don't get to know how you did on every test point. Feels like they just want to milk as many tests, and test fees, out of you as they can.
Jonathan, we are sorry to hear that you failed your test. But we would like to inform you of the testing process. We are a contractor of the Department of Licensing to conduct the skills tests. Their regulations are very specific as to how tests are scored. If someone has a violation of law (5 laws that if violated the test is immediately over) or a dangerous action,(meaning the Examiner had to take verbal or physical control of the car), then the test is immediately over. Unfortunately some applicants have this happen very early on during the test. We have no choice but to end it at that time. Tens of thousands of applicants have passed the test with us and we are not in the business of trying to fail people. We follow the guidelines and rules set forth by DOL to administer the test and do it fairly. I would suggest making sure you have the proper training and understand what is being asked of you to make sure you are a safe and responsible driver for our roadways. If you would like to discuss this further, please call the school and ask to talk to an owner. Good luck in your future driving tests. Jonathan, after further investigation; it was your girlfriend who took the test. After she failed she refused to let the Examiner explain why she had failed and told the Examiner, "I'm done, you can go". So, I would rather have the actual customer leave a review or speak to the person who took the test. A third party party leaving a review, does not seem accurate or fair since you were not there.
Fantastic experience: I had a great experience, they were really nice since my first call, my knowledge test and my skill test. They were fast, I did both of the tests in a week. My driving instructor was Dan, I was super nervous because I had a terrible experience with my last skill test at the DMV in Los Angeles, but he talked with me before the test, (what made a big difference, my test in California the lady didn’t say even a good morning) and he was patient with my English. I passed the test but he gave a feedback about what I need to improve.
Milena, we are happy that you had a great experience and thank you for the feedback and review. Drive safe.
Fantastic experience: Great and likeable test examiner!
Fantastic experience: Not sorry I honked at you. Instructor, and MOST of all the student handled it very well! Keep up the good work! Here is some of the places I have driven to with the education
Negative experience: Paying way too much money for services, and it still didn't cover everything. If your late for an online class they will not let you, instead will only offer to send a zoom link when convenient for them, and you have to rearrange your schedule again. If your paying a large amount of money it should work for you not against you. Horrible I would not recommend this school.
We are sorry you had a bad experience. DOL regulations does not let a student show up late to classes, therefore a make up class is needed to complete. This will have to be in another class from the one the student is enrolled in. We have 3 classes a week. So there are only 2 classes the make up class can happen.
Negative experience: Extremely rude and unprofessional. Had a drivers test scheduled couple weeks beforehand. When I called at OPENING time, I was told I should have been there 15 min prior to their opening and that i will be loosing my money. No sorry, can we reschedule, does another time work for you, nothing... If you want good customer service, do not call here. Whoever i spoke to on the phone has a lot of room for improvement.
Fantastic experience: My instructor was Dan . He was so professional, showed he truly loves what he does. He saw I was nervous and quickly gave me words of wisdom to make me feel at ease & gain the confidence i needed to pass my test. The staff is great , would truly recommend this location!!
We are happy that you had a great experience at 911 Driving School. Please drive safe!
Fantastic experience: Great place. Obeying the covid-19 rules. Very clean. Very friendly.
Fantastic experience: We were very pleased with our examiner Dan, he was very professional and friendly, and he made our son feel calm and focused. We wish there were more people like him in the customer service specialty! Thank you Dan!
Fantastic experience: Las personas saben respetar y son muy agradables
Negative experience: WOW! I didn’t even get passed the phone call. I spoke with a woman and she was seriously so rude and nasty. If you want anyone to even come here. I suggest learning how to be a little more welcoming....
We are sorry this happened. We have several front desk staff. Door know who you spoke to or the date and time you called, so we can look into this?
Fantastic experience: The staff here are all very kind and professional! LeeAnn was absolutely amazing, I am a self taught driver so I had failed my first driving test due to not knowing all of the specific little things they look for that I would've learned in drivers ed. LeeAnn went over the little things I had missed in extreme detail which was really helpful and said I would easily pass the next one, so I scheduled another driving test for the next day and passed it with flying colours! Having an amazing instructor makes all the difference. Thank you LeeAnn for being so kind and helpful!!
Fantastic experience: Excellent, can't recommend enough. 5 stars all the way.
Fantastic experience: Service was top notch. Took my Knowledge and Road test here, both within a week of each other. Scheduling was quick and easy over the phone. Staff were friendly and professional. You are able to use their vehicle for testing (Now During COVID, they only use their vehicle). They have courses available for those who need them. Only downside here, is that they do not have the ability to give you a temporary license upon passing the required test. So, you still have to go to the DOL to get your actual license, but otherwise everything is great.
Fantastic experience: The personal on staff were strictly up to providing the best service possible and fast. Highly recommened if your interested in the Best available driver's testing and certificata ion
Fantastic experience: I took both my driving test and knowledge test at this location, barely passed both not gonna lie but did. Staff are great especially the driver who tested me. Alison at the call center was very professional and knew a lot about the process.
Fantastic experience: Very good experience with Bob. I’m a Self taught driver and passed both of the written and driving test on my first try! At the start of the driving test Bob made sure I understood everything before starting, at the end he explained what I did well on and what I needed work on and was very nice and respectful while giving me advice. Thank you 911 driving school!
Positive experience: Was great
Fantastic experience: I didnt pass my first written teT, and I'm atill giving them 5 stars. They're as good as your gonna get
Fantastic experience: Thank you for being so patient and clear with instructions while drive testing. Thank you for positive and encouraging comments after the test.
Fantastic experience: I had a great time doing Zoom classes with 911 Driving School! I recommend taking their classes, the teachers are very nice and it's great how they crack a joke every once in awhile and employees are very nice and informative about questions, sometimes slow to respond to emails but understandable because of the circumstances.
Fantastic experience: A great driving school. Got me ready to drive and learn the rules of the road. Instructors are very helpful!
Fantastic experience: Went here for my driving exam and failed the first time at 78%. They thoroughly explained to me what I needed to work on for my next time so I practice and came back, and passed with a 90% the second time! They even reviewed what I had missed the first time right before I took the test again to make sure I wouldn’t miss anything this time. Very professional, kind, and caring staff. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!
Fantastic experience: As a mother of teenagers ready to drive, I was impressed with the professionalism of the front desk, to the classrooms instructors, to the driving instructors . Particularly the drive instructor name LeeAnn Even though my child had to retake the road test, LeeAnn was thorough on what needed attention yet encouraging. When rescheduling to retake the road test my child insisted on working with LeeAnn.
