Fantastic experience: Great experience with la renaissance Driving school from start to finish. They were able to quickly book my road test (using one of their cars) over the phone along with a couple of practice lessons for a very reasonable price. Mr Orlando my driving instructor, was awesome! Extremely friendly and he taught me some great tricks for parallel parking, 3 point turns, etc. We ran through a mock test in the same neighborhood where my road test would be to make sure I was ready. I can't recommend him enough. If it wasn’t for Mr Orlando i wouldn’t pass my road test Thank you!

If you are trying to become a licensed driver in New York, do yourself the favor of going directly to La Renaissance. They will be your guide through the entire process. The office manager and team went above and beyond for me and from what I could see, for everyone who walked into their door. The office manager ensured that after I took the mandatory driving course, that I was scheduled for a road test. The student driver teachers ensured that I was prepped and ready for my road test. Again the office manager went above and beyond by following up with a one on one polish. Due to the family like team, I am happy and proud to say that I passed my road test on the first try! Positive experience: I gave this school 3 stars because of lack of customer service. Whenever I would have a question or concerns I would call the number and receive no answer for hours and hours. And then I would receive a text from the owner practically at the end of the day. The school is always closed even during the hours that they are supposed to be open. The owner is never there and I have never even seen her before. I like the fact that they have cheap packages. I just wished that they included pick up and drop offs for those who live in the zoned zip code area. They only have one driving instructor and his name is mr Orlando. He helped me pass my road test. Make sure you have him as a instructor. He’s a gem and knows what he’s talking about. Everything he taught me and discussed with me was on the test. He’s definitely a 5 star instructor for sure. Thank heavens for him!

But my teacher Orlando here really helped me to finally pass my test on the third try! He was so patient and actually cared. He gave me a lot of useful tips, so I finally know what I was doing! Negative experience: This place was completely unorganized. The only good thing that came out of it was their driver Mr. Orlando. He was excellent. I thought we would have a language barrier but all was fine. I passed my test. Didn’t get to take the last 4 classes and they told me it was just 3 and I only got refunded 65$ when the classes per one session is 40$ per class. SMH. Never again will not recommend. I’ve had several issues with them. And the lady is never there.

Fantastic experience: I gave up hope after failing the road test multiple times. I thought going to one of the biggest and well known driving schools in NYC was the way to go but I didn't feel the investment in me the way invested in driving. I found La Renaissance after taking a year off like most people did due to covid. I met Mr. Orlando, or Orlando now, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Orlando was patient and gave me feedback at every turn. He helped build me back up. I felt deflated and defeated and was ready to be a non-licensed driver. I not only sharpened by skills but I also became more comfortable. I got more than an instructor, I got someone who truly believed in me. Against all odds in the pouring rain I passed my test with a near perfect score. Thank you Orlando! 10/10 I recommed.

My instructor Mr. Orlando was so patient with me , he saw the skills in me that I didn’t know I have . I wanted to give up so many times after failing twice but he encouraged me not to. Negative experience: This driving school is not professional at all. They are regularly closed during there regular business hours.They tried to charge me for a class I canceled and they weren't even open for a class I scheduled. Instead I was left to wait outside for 30 min in 90 degree weather. Unfortunately i found out after I payed them money. I initially picked this school based on the great reviews but to my dismay it wasnt true. I have tried to support local and black businesses but unfortunately, this isnt one you can count on. The driving instructor himself Mr. Orlando is a gem but the staff including the owner Patrica is the worst.

Fantastic experience: Patricia who runs the office is a stellar professional who actually cares about the students. I was able to call the school whenever I had issues with my schedule. The school gives an old-school vibe which I appreciate and loved. Mr Orlando(instructor) is a hands on expert and a consummate professional and knows everything you need to pass the road test. I passed on my FIRST TRY! Cost was $355 for 10 lessons plus $100 for the car to use on the day of the road test. Make sure you ask for Mr Orlando because he Is the BEEEEEST!

He's very patient with you as you drive, and he even points out what to look for on the test, which is very handy. I learned quite a lot of things I didn't know at all, and you gradually start implementing the information and advice each time you drive, gaining more confidence as you do so. Fantastic experience: I don't even know where to start because I am still in shock that I passed monday afternoon . I can start by saying this whole learning to drive experience has been an easy journey all thanks to mr.orlando , patricia and calvin. Mr.orlando takes his time to teach you and makes you feel comfortable and he's funny but he is also is very straight forward he will let you know exactly what you will be tested on for the road exam and teaches you the signs and what can happen in case of an emergency. I am person who has extreme anxiety I was not fearful of driving but I am fearful of failing exams or making simple mistakes that could cause me to fail and hearing everyone who took there exams coming from other driving schools made me even more scared but I can tell you if you have Anxiety this is the place go if you want to pass on the FIRST TRY!! this is the place to go . Patricia super sweet and take her time to help all of her customers she even helped me to calm down before the exam by reassuring me I would be okay and played inspirational videos and mr.calvin was also great he gave me tips to pass while driving me to my exam and we stopped to icecream before my test so I think that might have help me too. Fantastic experience: ATTENTION La Renaissance Auto School is the best!!! Due to recent times I held on to my permit longer than I should. I was crunched for time. The auto school is punctual and works with you. I failed the first test, however they wouldn't give up on me! I wouldn't give up on myself. The second time around I passed and now I'm waiting for a new stage in life. And this all happened within about two weeks time! Seriously, if you happen to be within seven or so miles don't waste your time going anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: They are fairly booked but this was an amazing driving school. Not sure why everyone and their mother wants to learn to drive all of the sudden with COVID going on lol BUT I passed in one try. Learned very fast Mr. Orlando was an amazing teacher I honestly felt like I was ready by the 4th lesson because he teaches so much and makes you comfortable driving so quickly.

Mr Orlando is the Best!!!! instructor, very professional and patient, he will teach you like no one else & you will definitely pass. Fantastic experience: This school was great. Honestly I though i was an ok drive but i got alot better after the driving instructor Mr.Orlando really helped me unlearn some bad driving habits. He can be a touch cookie but if you listen to what he's instructing and you be good. He gave all me the right skills and techniques that I needed to not only pass my road test the first time but to how to be a safe driver on the road. Thanks you Mr. Orlando and La Renaissance

Fantastic experience: After failing the test twice and losing confidence in my driving skills, Mr. Orlando was able to help me pass my test! He is so calm and so patient and makes you feel so comfortable. Furthermore, he teaches you the rules of the road in the most concise way and is able to help you understand more than just driving (i.e functions of the car, how to read the road etc). I highly recommend using this driving school i will be telling all of my friends to choose this place over anywhere else!
