CDL Kotra Driving School

Fantastic experience: I enrolled my father in this trucking school, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. English is his second language, and the instructors took the time to ensure he understood everything. They were patient, thorough, and went above and beyond to teach him both the practical and theoretical aspects of trucking. The curriculum was clear and easy to follow, and the hands-on training was excellent. My father gained confidence and is now well-prepared for his career on the road. I highly recommend this school.

Fantastic experience: It's an amazing place for beginners. It's very hands on and 1 on 1 teaching and learning. I'm a person that's a slow learner and I worry about stuff. But coming here I learned how to drive a manual tranmission in 6 days and passed all my tests. Everyone here is super friendly and very nice. They teach you the correct way and everything is hands on, no classroom work just hands on practice and getting it done. I'm very happy I picked this school to get my CDL A.

Fantastic experience: I attended KOTRA CDL School in July/August 2024 as a full-time student. The curriculum covered all the necessary topics, from basic road safety to advanced driving techniques. The hands-on experience in different driving conditions was particularly valuable. The instructors ( Martin Sr and Martin Jr) were not only knowledgeable but also patient and supportive, making sure that each student understood the material. The school had a wide variety of trucks for us to train on, and the facilities were clean and well-maintained. The school’s job placement services were excellent, helping me land a job within two weeks of graduation. Thanks to the thorough training I received, I passed my CDL exam on the first try and started working for a reputable trucking company soon after. Overall, I highly recommend KOTRA CDL School to anyone serious about starting a career in trucking.

Negative experience: Unfortunately I have to give them 1 star. I called to schedule, sent them my DMV papers. The guy said “good to go, we start on Monday”. I spent money on travel and hotel, when finally there he told me there is some document missing from my DMV file(which he reviewed) and they cannot take me in! Wasted like 1.5k for nothing! Not professional at all!

Fantastic experience: I just can't say enough of the good words for this guy's, from the firs day of your cdl training they have only one mission and that is that you pass your testing in a first try! Maria, Martin and Martin Jr. amazing guy's, patient and will go with you over everything countless time's if needed. All of their trucks are in good working condition, practice area is huge , and general area around them is excellent for practicing your road skills no to much traffic, it's just perfect ! Even the examiner who comes for testing is really nice guy, will not push you so you can take your time without rushing anything. All in all my experience was awesome, passed the test in a first try, i would give them 10 stars if i could !

Fantastic experience: I attended the CDL refresher course at Kotra, and could not be happier with the class, instructors or results. I had not used my CDL in almost 10 years, but working with Martin to knock the rust off was absolutely awesome. One week after graduation I received a job offer after an interview and driving test with a LTL company. The confidence getting behind the wheel and driving again made the driving test a cake walk.

Fantastic experience: Amazing CDL school , they teach you everything you need to know for the test . Instructors are amazing. However the examiner they use for the test they use is very rude and unprofessional.I hope they use someone else in the future. He made threats towards me for making a mistake on the road test when i did not have much driving time in the first place. He also told me that nobody is going to hire me but good luck anyways. Hopefully they get somebody that is beneficial to students rather than that dude. Otherwise school is great if you want to get your CDL fast

Negative experience: If you want to learn how to pass a test, and then look like a fool in the real world, this is your place. They don’t really teach you specifics about backing at all, moreso giving you reference points that will never apply in the real world. I spent $5000 on about a week and a half training. I would strongly suggest finding another school in the area.

Negative experience: These people are crooks with there single axle trucks. I did like 2 hours max of driving through my 2 weeks I was there. They look at it like if you are good enough to pass test you don’t get to drive anymore. Good luck trying to do stick your gonna have an instructor yelling at you the whole time cause he doesn’t want his precious old truck broke. You basically teach yourself everything save yourself the money. PS THEY BRIBE YOU TO LEAVE A GOOD REVIEW zero stars Martin is dumb
