AAA CDL School

Negative experience: I would like to express my deep concerns regarding the teaching practices and curriculum of AAA commercial driving/trucking school. Unfortunately, this institution does not adhere to proper guidelines or a standardized curriculum. Key issues include: 1. Lack of Comprehensive Training: • Critical topics such as DOT requirements, road safety tips, legal weight limits, and tandem adjustments are completely ignored in their teaching. These are essential for any aspiring commercial driver to ensure safety and compliance on the roads. 2. Neglect Beyond Pre-Trip Inspections: • While they cover pre-trip inspections on the first and second days, they fail to provide meaningful training afterward. Students are left to figure out backing maneuvers and other essential driving skills on their own or by watching videos. 3. Absence of Active Supervision: • The management does not bother to monitor or guide students on how to handle a truck or execute critical maneuvers. Instead, students are left to rely on help from classmates, which is an unprofessional and unsafe way to learn such vital skills. 4. Manipulative Practices: • Many positive reviews seem to come from students on the day of their driving test when they pass. The school appears to pressure students into leaving positive reviews during moments of happiness, which feels unethical and manipulative. Given these serious shortcomings, I strongly urge the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) to conduct a thorough review of this school’s curriculum and teaching methods. The potential consequences of graduating inadequately trained drivers will directly impact road safety for everyone. This is not just a matter of poor education; it is a public safety concern that must be addressed immediately.

Negative experience: I'll start with the good. Master G and Jay are good teachers. If you ask them questions, they will take the time to answer you and give you meaningful answers. They know the ropes for what you need to pass the test. Unfortunately there's a lot of downside. Jay isn't there most of the time. Master G disappears for large portions of the day with no explanation. The result is too many students with not enough instruction. Students end up teaching themselves and each other. They have 2 and a half trucks, and only one that's really in road worthy condition, leaving students fighting for time behind the wheel. You barely get actual behind the wheel time on the road before taking the test unless you are waiting around in class for a couple months. They make policies clear beforehand, but they're strange and expensive, like a $250 charge if you fail the test and have to retake it. It's right next to another CDL school, and you watch as they drive better trucks with more instructors. I don't know whether the other school is actually better or not, but it definitely feels like a choice was made and it may not have been the best one.

Fantastic experience: I completed my CDL license in this school! I had a good relationship with everyone specially instructor Girma he is the best teacher ever I seen! I highly recommend everyone to join this school thank you Master G making me a great student and driver respect as always.

I recommend this school a lot because they have the best teachers, a lot of schools don’t like teaching students manual transmission. I tried a different school and they didn’t want to teach me in a manual truck they only wanted to teach me in a automatic but here at this school they teach both and no restrictions on your license. Fantastic experience: I got my Class A license with a manual transmission from AAA. The staff is great and the instructors are very patient and knowledgeable. If I had questions or wasn’t sure of something, I could rely on Girma or Gary to be there and guide me in the right path. Both of these instructors are top tier!! Upon completion of my test from the DMV, I contacted both instructors and thanks to them, I was contracted by a company within a week. It’s a great school with flexible hours and solid equipment. I would definitely recommend! Thanks guys!
