Positive experience: Overall great experience. James and Raphael in the classroom were fantastic. Darren gave amazing instructions on the backing pad and Robert gave excellent instruction during road drives. School manager JD was present and available whenever necessary.

Fantastic experience: Today is I graduated Road Master Driving School! 5 weeks of training and I have new career and opportunity to make more money then I’ve been making. I don’t write reviews (ever) but from day 1 here I have watched everyone at road master treat everyone with respect and the instructors make sure we are prepared to drive and knowledgeable about the trucking industry. I’d like to thank Mr. James Good my classroom instructor for answering all my questions. Mr. Rafael Martinez for knowing how to have fun and learn at the same time. Mr. Richard Anderson for drilling the Pre trip inspection into my head. Mr. Donavan Williams for making sure we know the ins and out of how the truck moves. Mr. Robert Alexander for teaching me how to drive and be aware of my surroundings so I can be a save driver. Mr. Alan Graig made our time on the pad fun to learn. Last but not least JD Yannotti the school manager. He runs a tight ship and is tough but fair. I’d also like to that Sharon Donnelly for making sure all my paperwork was straight with my financing and the DMV. Thank you too Rebekah Yannotti for walking me thru the start up process with no pressure. I have made new friends throughout this process and very thankful for everyone that had a part in this process. I appreciate you guys!

Fantastic experience: Not sure where to start so I’ll just start with I’m glad I listened to the referral about coming to Roadmaster. I came into the school with my CDL permit and that was all the knowledge I had. I was taught everything from scratch and feel like I became so much more knowledgeable about the trucking industry and everything pertaining getting my CDL. My instructors, Mr. James in the classroom, Mr. Richard on PTI, Mr. Donovan on all of the maneuvers & Mr. Robert and Rafael on the road really set me up for success and I’m forever grateful to them all! I enjoyed learning from every instructor that I worked with and they made the challenges of practicing all of the different techniques and memorizing all of the information given to me seem like a walk in the park. James, Donovan, Daren, Allen, Stephen, Rafael always did their best to make sure I knew everything. Fantastic experience: I came to Roadmaster Drivers School to make a change in my career and in my life. The first introduction I had to the school was from the recruiter , Rebekah, that I spoke with when first calling. She explained the process of the school and what I should expect once I started. The school was absolutely wonderful in making sure that you understood everything about the Tractor and trailer and what to expect once you are on the road. The in class training was ran by Mr. James who was extremely thorough and detailed with all details involved. He also was very willing to answer any questions and make sure that every student in the class fully understood the chapter before moving on to the next. My first day on the pad with the PTI instructor Mr. Richard was very informative, he was very detailed and went through all of the PTI in great detail many times to ensure that all students understood why and what they were looking at/for. Mr. Raph was my first actual driving instructor and was very helpful in getting everyone acquainted with and understanding the basics of backing the tractor/trailer up successfully. Mr. Allen was my other instructor for the backing maneuvers and was very detailed in explaining the recommended methods for successful backing into whatever exercise was being performed. I had the most drives with Mr. Robert and learned a lot about how to properly drive and make turns while driving a CMV. He is patient and explains what you did wrong and how to correct it very clearly and in a way that makes you a better driver. Over all the school has been an amazing experience and if you are planning on getting your CDL I would highly recommend coming here to accomplish your life changing career move. The manager JD is very friendly and will work with any students that may have any issues while attending school. This school wants you to succeed and will provide all the necessary tools and training required to accomplish your goal of getting your CDL and start a new more prosperous career. The thing I liked most about the school is the staff, everyone in the office and on the pad is very friendly and will help you any way they can, but they will not simply put a CDL into someone’s hand and send them on their way. Best experience I have had in a very long time, thank you to all of the Roadmaster Tampa staff, Thank you for providing such a great school to learn and be successful in driving a CMV.

Negative experience: I was yesterday in the Tampa Oriend rd. office asking for information, the person who is front is racist. He asked me if I was born in this country, if I speak English, and that to give me information I have to make an appointment. I wonder why he is there doing nothing then? BAD SERVICE

It was definitely a life changing experience for me and I am extremely grateful and fortunate to have gotten my knowledge and training here. I am now a Class A CDL driver! From the ladies up front Sharon and Rebecca welcomed me with warmth and made me feel right at home they were extremely professional, informative about the course and job placement. JD Yannotti aka the Boss! Was also extremely professional and passionate about making sure I got the best knowledge and training from his amazing team with his busy schedule it was great to see him out on the pad at times making sure we were all understanding and mastering our maneuvers! Ms. Mel was awesome she literally got an entire CDL book downloaded into my brain in a week! She was extremely knowledgeable and made it fun at the same time! I was also fortunate and proud to have had my classmates from “class 24” all great guys and supportive from day one! Mr. Richard I couldn’t have passed my PTI portion of the training if it wasn’t for him! Mr. Alan is the man! Fantastic experience: From the first day of recruiting to the last day of graduation and completing the program it was a very professional experience. Everyone from office staff to instructors to Mr.yannotti were all welcoming and courteous, was treated very well and tended to all my questions about the program. Made me feel at ease and helped me understand everything about truck driving. I would recommend the program to all friends and family.they make it extremely simple to learn and have basic understanding which was great for me. They always treated me with respect and always answered all my questions the best they could with hesitation even if I asked 100 times they made my experience wonderful thanks to Roadmaster now i am a licensed CDL driver.

Fantastic experience: I had just passed my test for my CDL all of the instructors that worked with me were awesome and they don't let you quit, Mister Steve, Allen, John all were a huge help with tips. Mr. Darren , Mr. Ken , Ms Mel , Ms. Rebecca , Mr. JD , All The instructors These ppl are tough & will not allow you to give up on yourself when you get to that point where you think you can’t do it. I learned so much & it was definitely hard but I did it‼️You gotta work & study hard but it was all worth it. Fantastic experience: I've actually been to school before for my CDL and honestly this has been one of the best experience I've had you learn everything here even when you get here for your first week and then they give you a lot of information you end up learning it and understanding it and a time here has definitely been wonderful I enjoy everyone the staffs and the people it's just a great experience overall There are a few I would like to thank Miss Mel also Mr Richard when you first get here he is hilarious he's a wonderful guy you guys will meet him coming in here I also like to thank Miss Rebecca she's very wonderful handling everything far as paperwork and just the spirit I like to think JD he's the man I didn't realize he still had the skills out there on the road he showed me some things Forest backing in parallel parking blind side I like to thank Mr Kenny who's also the man he gave me some good pointers I like to thank Mr Steve although I didn't get a chance to work with him but he showed me some things how's it like today Mr Richard for PTI preparing us getting us ready for the next steps I like to thank Mr Darren although I didn't get a chance to work with him his name is Big troublemaker as they call me a little troublemaker he's very hilarious and he's a good instructor as well I've seen him on the pad with his class and everybody moving on to the next steps yes I'd like to thank Mr Bill no matter what they say how tough he is you will know exactly what you're supposed to know to pass each test Mr Bill is definitely a wonderful guy he's tough on you but he truly means good and he wants you to pass so don't take it personal I like to thank John one of the state examiners and I also like to think will another state examiner both of those guys do wonderful jobs I really didn't get a chance to work with any of them except when I test but they both are wonderful good job to the whole staff and team at Roadmaster if I forgot anybody I would like to thank you all too

Fantastic experience: Outstanding school after school I've been driving across the country best time in my life but it's not all fun you are going through tuff moments just push through it

Positive experience: So many rude comments about the instructors from previous people. I am totally in biased so I’ll leave the most honest review possible. Week one in the classroom I got the pleasure to be taught by none other, than Mrs. Mel. Comparing to previous comments she is NOT in any way/shape/ or form racist, or mean. She was one of the most wonderful and funny people there. She made the classroom portion fun, and kept people engaged. She will break down everything so that everyone is on the same page of understanding. Mrs. Mel will help you with anything and beyond to prepare you for your exam, and to start you off on the right direction. She treats everyone fairly so I’m unsure where previous comments come from. She’s great at what she does! Next you’ll do PTI, with Mr. Richard who was also fantastic to learn from. He will assure you that you are prepared for what you need to do for the state test. He is also another funny and entertaining instructor. He is more than fair, and has excellent teaching skills. On the 3rd week we got the opportunity to work with Mr. Ken. Not lemme tell you, Mr. Ken is awesome! He will not give up on you! He will teach you everything you need to know to get prepared for the state test. I also see previous comments about Mr. Ken that are untrue. He is fair, and extremely good at what he does. He is an honest man, and will teach you exactly what you need to know. Using everything I learned from Mr. Ken, I was able to pass my state test. He won’t sugar coat anything, and will teach you properly, you just need to listen to what he’s teaching you and you’ll be successful. He was my favorite instructor, which is not easy to say since all the instructors I got the pleasure of working with, were excellent. Now, I only got to work with Mr. Steve for one day, but when I was with him, he was nice to work with, and gave me tons of encouragement when I failed. Thank you Mr. Steve for the pep-talk. If you get to ride along with Will when you go over the road, he’s another great guy to work with. His instructions are clean and clear, and he will instruct you for your success. Now, I’m not saying this location is just show up and get your CDL, because it’s not. Even with previous experience, I still failed in different sections of this program. JD, the director got me back in there to get set up for my retest and success each time so that I could do what I came for. Now for the reasons I marked this program down to 4 stars. I understand some of this is out of location control, and it’s left to the corporate level. But you will be standing, 90% of the day in the sun, and aren’t really allowed to use the sun shades or just sit under them, so you’ll need to be prepared. The instructor to student ratio is a bit rough at times. At first, you’ll be in the truck for 15-20 minute sections, and on some days maybe just a few times a day. As a little time goes on, other students will go to other sections and when some of my fellow students graduated, we were at 4 students per instructor, and in the trucks every 30 minutes on the rotation. So at first, it’s a little rough to just be standing there for hours on end, awaiting your turn. Next is the check out system for your badge. You cant clock out, until exactly 5:30, so you are just standing there in a line until all 30-40 students checkout. Once you check out you still have to do a roll call which takes just as long, so you won’t be out at 5:30. If you are clocked out, you are burning your own time at that point. But it’s also the same for lunch time. And once again, I’m understand this is most likely at corporate level so hopefully they see this and can change policies to allow the school to be better for everyone. If I did not name an instructor, that doesn’t mean I don’t like them, I just didn’t work with them during my time at Roadmaster.

Fantastic experience: If you want your CDL, this is the school you want attend. Top-notch curriculum and instructors. Miss Mel, Mr. Ken, Mr. Richard, Mr. Steve, and Mr. Bill. These instructors go the extra mile for you. They care. They do everything in their power to ensure you are ready for that CDL test. I can't forget to mention Mrs. Sharon, Mrs. Rebecca, Mr. Short and of course, JD. JD directs and runs a squared-away school. Thank you Roadmaster Tampa!

Fantastic experience: My overall experience with Roadmaster was great. I received excellent instruction from the classroom and all the way through to the end of the course. The instructors were all very knowledgeable and helpful. Melissa was professional and really cared. She wanted to make sure we knew the laws and regulations. Richard and Bill made sure we were trained and educated on PTI. Ken and Steve made sure that we were able to conduct all the required maneuvers. With their instruction and patience, I was able to learn what I needed to successfully pass the course and earn my CDL.

Fantastic experience: I came across the recent review about our driving instructors Ken, Mel, and Mr. Bill and felt compelled to share my counter-experience from being in a class with Mr. Paul. It's unfortunate to hear that someone has had a negative experience, however I am not surprised given the person did not listen, was crybaby because he could not get the maneuvers down, and failed his driving test (actually did not actually make it off the pad to get to the driving test) but it's important to recognize that this perspective may not reflect the reality of the situation or the experiences of the majority. As someone who has also gone through the training program, I have found Ken, Mel, and Mr. Bill to be some of the most dedicated and experienced instructors I've encountered. Their years of experience and passion for teaching have been evident to me and many of my peers. I understand that everyone has their own learning style and that not every instructor's method will resonate with every student. However, it's critical to approach learning, especially something as crucial as driving, with an open mind and a willingness to take constructive criticism. It's my belief that the instructors mentioned are far from the negative portrayal in the review. From my experience, they have shown nothing but respect for their students and myself and have gone above and beyond to ensure we are prepared not only to pass our driving tests but also to be safe and competent on the road. (FYI I was able to pass on the first try because of the instructors!!) For anyone considering this training program, I highly recommend meeting the instructors and observing their classes firsthand. Everyone's experience is unique, and I believe that an open-minded approach to learning from seasoned professionals like Ken, Mel, and Mr. Bill will reveal the quality of their instruction and their commitment to their students' success.

Negative experience: The following instrutors are horrible Ken the smoke chimney, smokes Cigars on the training Pod, his hands in his pocket , doesn’t respect the students, he yells and screams for no reason. Ken uses the triangle on the landing gears for back up , Ken has zero training skills. Ken . Bill only screams and yells zero teaching skills Bill . Mellisa the somo wrestler 330 LB brings dog into the classroom, she yells , no respect for the students, she teach students how to sue trucking companies, Mellisa hates her job as a classroom instructor, she keeps saying “ I hate people” Mellisa zero class zero teaching skills Mellisa you are a horrible

Negative experience: Terrible school! The wost part is they gave me a truck to take my final exam that had a air leak so the seat wouldn't go up. I walked away due to safety issues. Don't go here!

Negative experience: I rated them two stars primarily due to the exceptional instructors such as, Mellisa, Mr. Carl, Mr. Ken, Mr. Bill just to name a few. However, if your driving record isn't flawless, DO NOT anticipate job assistance despite their initial assurance. Despite their guarantee of post-graduation work, I'm still unemployed after a month. Additionally, you're unable to work while enrolled as a student. The commitment to employment from Road Master was my primary reason for choosing them over other schools. I advise you DO NOT choose this school unless you already have a secured job once you have your CDL.

Negative experience: Roadmaster does not have trainers with positive attitude the lady Mel is the devil and a demon seed. She has no respect for majority African Americans unless you sucking from the eggs she sits on.. what a waste of time when she gives you the worst end of a ruler. She's very evil and loves to yell at people. The nicest ones there were Steve, Carl Both Richard's and Bill. J D. Was cool thanks J.D. for the spare when I needed. Mel ughhh.

Fantastic experience: I really enjoyed my experience at RDS. They give you the necessary preparation to become an excellent commercial driver. They have an excellent manager, their instructors are the best of the best, and the staff in general is great. If you are really committed to studying hard and giving your best in practical skills, that is your place. Don't go if you don't like rules. I would fully recommend them to anyone.

Negative experience: This is one of the worst school to go to. Before I signed up, I talked to a recruiter name Richard. I asked him about the classes, if they were going to be a lot of people in the class he said no. So, I registered for the class. The first week I came, I was there for 2 days and then I went home because I didn’t like the school. He called me and convinced me to come back. He said I didn’t even try, if I come back they’ll make sure I get the help that needed. Once I came back, the first week we spent it in the class room, the second week on PTI, and the third week we’re started doing the straight back, offset, parallel parking, and alley dork. You’ll be lucky, if you get to spend 15 minutes behind the wheel the whole day. And the JD the guy who run the school said, 75 of the learning materials is watching other people making mistakes and learn from them. And then they have Melissa one of the instructors, she’s the worst she be screaming and yelling at you/cursing at you when you make mistake. Also, they don’t have enough instructors. Even though, they don’t have enough instructors they’re still have a new class every week. And they instructors they have there be calling off, go home early. Once they instructors go home early, class dismissed. We’re just have to wait until 5:30 to go home. JD the one in charge of the school try to kick you out for any a little thing. So, he could make room for other. They said, school is 180 hours. Honestly, you’ll be lucky to spend 15-20 hours the whole time you’re there. Once, your 180 hours is up if you can’t passed your evaluation, they kick you out. The only reason the school might deserve a 2 start is because of Steve of the instructors. When he shows you how to do, you’ll get it. Maybe the school would have been a better school, if he was one running it.

Fantastic experience: I love training atmosphere and the staff from the instructors to the admin are top notch. I appreciate everyone but a special thanks to JD, Mr steve, Mr ken and Mr Carl. Mr.Jon top notch couldn't ask for a better tester hard but fair. I see why Roadmaster Tampa is number 1 in Florida in my opinion.

Fantastic experience: A really good vocational school. I received my Diploma and Class A CDL license within 5 weeks of studies. It was hard but the staff made sure I was able to succeed. I've considered one other trucking school in California, and I wouldn't go to anyone else other than Roadmaster by Werner. This is the Top trucking school in the nation, yes, they take G.I Bill!

Fantastic experience: I had instructions form all the instructors. I thought that was not the right way for me to learn but at the end they all had somthing that they do/say that was unique. I realized that i needed to use one way over another based on what situation I had, so at the end of the day I felt like that made my train of thought more versatile. I'm also glad I was making mistakes because I would have not know how to recognize them and fix them. Last but not least don't be afraid or don't put off asking your questions it's important to understand the material and what your doing.

Positive experience: First I would like to say that I highly recommend this facility (Tampa) to anyone looking to really learn & earn their CDLS the right way. My experience was great, it was Not easy but it was definitely worth it!! Big Thanks to instructor Mr.Ken!!! This man literally Believed in me when I didn’t have the confidence to believe in myself. I wanted to quit & give up so many times but he did not let me. He literally always told me “Giving up is NOT a Option” He had the most patience with me & reminded me everyday that I can do it. He literally had his own unique way of teaching & he definitely made my experience much more memorable. All the instructors were very encouraging towards the students. Fantastic experience: I just wanted to take a moment to thank the instructors at Roadmaster. Each instructor is extremely skilled in their ability to teach. From a female perspective, I really appreciated having the opportunity to be trained by a female instructor. Mel is an incredible instructor at Roadmaster. She is reassuring in the rules of the road and helps build confidence for new truck drivers. She'll work with you because she wants you to succeed. Chris have the nicest and funny way to teach and make you training with him easy but right to the point. Richard, Steve and Dwight excelente instructors really easy to get along and understand. Positive experience: Great instructors specifically Darren and Ken, they’re very knowledgeable, helpful and patient. Overall great experience and would definitely recommend. I will say there is one instructor that likes to scream and yell claims it’s due to her psychology background, however, we aren’t learning psychology we’re learning to drive semi’s. It’s very disturbing when you’re in the truck and all of a sudden you’re being screamed at through a radio. I find it very dangerous and annoying, we are grown adults not children.
