At Local Driving School, our mission is to provide our students with simple, clear, and comprehensive Driver’s Education and In-Car-Driving training. We firmly believe that our approach and methodologies will help all of our students become safe, smart, and competent drivers.
Why We’re Different: We differ from other driving schools in that we specialize in both driver’s education and advanced behind-the-wheel driver’s training. Fantastic experience: I'm so grateful to Sarah and the Local Driving School team. I passed my driving test this week at first try. Sarah is a very patient, kind and considerate instructor and she is very committed in her work. She is a wonderful person and she helped me a lot to learn driving and drive safely as well as be aware of traffic rules and do great traffic checks. Highly recommended. The office provides easy to schedule and any inquiries and questions are answered at a prompt manner.

Negative experience: I am Mandeep Kaur. In July my daughter got her permit and we went to the local driving for classes. And they said they will give her 8 classes for 90 minutes. At first they gave her 3 classes but then said that rest of the classes when after 6 months month completed. But after that, they never gave us a callback. I texted them, called them and went to the office but no response. And one day Mrs. Jyoti Sodhi called and said that she will give my daughter the rest of the classes but she gave her one and said that she will not give her classes anymore and is going to make a DMV test appointment for her. And She said she doesn't even care if she passes the DMV test. Jyoti Sodhi talk rudely to me. I want to request everyone please do not ever go to this driving school.

Negative experience: Prepaid for a package that included 3 lessons, a pre test lesson, and use of there vehicle for the test. My son got the 3 lessons, however when the day of his test came, the company called and said that they had to cancel the pre test lesson because the instructor was sick. I spoke with the owner and he offered me a refund for the missed lesson. He never followed through with that. I called, emailed, left messages, and no response. Very disappointed in this company as it was recommended to me by a friend.
Hi Matthew, I'm sorry to hear about what happened. We are able to do a refund for the lessons that has not been completed. Please reach out to us at this number (510)235 5500. We also apologize if the Instructor had to cancel since he was sick. We also want to make sure Our Student and Our Instructors are safe and are 100% before they can do the lesson. But this is definitely an isolated case. We will do our best to find you account and contact you to make sure everything was already fixed.
Fantastic experience: My instructor was Sarah Huber all three times and she was very helpful and helped me pass the first time. She was always excited and was very kind. If you need an instructor then take your classes with her.

Fantastic experience: Just got back from a driving lesson and Chelsea was the instructor. She was kind from the get go which is nice as I was really nervous and had limited driving experience. She eased my nerves and reassured me that everything is okay and driving can be learned. 10/10 Great time :)

Negative experience: This driving school is not good. We made appointments and they would always come when they wanted to. I would make an appointment at 10:30 to 12:30 and they would change it to 11:30 to 1:30 and then when we would cancel they would charge us $100. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
Hi Marcela, We're sorry to hear about what happened. We would always give out options whether our Students would like to keep or move their schedule. The cancellation fee is also charge depending on the situation. I know it has been a few months, but please reach out to us when you can so that we can work things out for you.
Fantastic experience: Appreciated the friendliness and fact that they prepare you for every aspect of the driving test. Felt like someone actually wanted me to pass instead of belittling you for not knowing something. Offer great services to pick you up for the test and drop you off afterwards.

Fantastic experience: I love this place! My instructor, Don, was an old school kind of guy, but that means he made sure I did things right. I learned multiple things that weren't on the test, but I would need in the real-world. He taught me to parallel park, which I thought would never happen. Everybody has been amazing and I would recommend this place to everyone who needs a teacher.

Positive experience: Ask for Lakhvir Kaur or Karan Sondhi. They are awesome teachers. They are patient and warm and just really good at their work. Lakhvir gave me my extra lesson and took me to DMV & she was just a great instructor. I highly recommend these two. They highly boosted my confidence. Now the issue I had was with customer care or the people who set the appointments over the phone. Twice my appointment time was changed and I received an email about 45 minutes to new scheduled time. Twice I was given wrong information about who my driver was supposed to be. They need to work on this.

Fantastic experience: I needed my 3rd and final lesson a day before my test, nobody was able to take me in but Local driving did. They are reliable, honest, and have taught me what I need to know to pass the DMV test. I passed with only 1 mistake. Local Driving saved me from waiting an additional 4-5 months due to COVID! Fantastic experience: Jyoti Sondi and Laura are amazing instructors , as an adult non driver I had pretty bad car anxiety and they instilled me the with confidence to finally take my test . They are both really chill and kind . They remind and instruct in a way that doesn’t make you feel like ur making a huge mistake or second guessing yourself . I found them through a recommendation myself and definitely will the info on to others !
