Fantastic experience: Great school overall had a very fun and great time with my fellow classmates thank you Clyde for being a funny pre-trip instructor and always cracking funny jokes thank you Dan for always giving great advice when it comes to road thank you, Jeff thank you for helping me in my offset at the beginning and thank you, Malcolm for always watching us in the yard so we don’t hit another trailer great. Instructors and great mentors at the school. And most importantly, thank you, Chavon for being the most flexible person in the building. Thank you for everything Progressive!!!! Negative experience: If students are failing the school need to know how to identify the failure to best help their students be successful. trucks are not in good working condition I have observed students that is failing the pre trip and road test due lack of training

Fantastic experience: It was a real journey but I made it the school worked with me on my schedule they even stayed open a hour after closing to help those of us that wanted the extra help the staff was always nice and did everything they could to keep us in a positive mindset to Clyde Shavon Jeff Dave Dan and Malcolm thank you for everything.

Fantastic experience: Amazing school great instructors. When it comes to the pretrip part no one’s as good as Mr Clyde. Skills yard Jeff and Malcom are great teachers just wish they were a bit more involved at times. Now when it comes to road a special shoutout to Dan and Dave they are both experienced retired drivers that know what they’re talking about made driving a manual as easy as pie. Last but not least shoutout to Chavon in the office for making everything seamless and engaging when it came to road time and scheduling. Overall they have a 11/10 team running Progressive and i would recommend it to anyone seeking to obtain their CDL!!!

Negative experience: DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL OR WORK FOR WERNER. I was going to let it go but this school is not a good school to attend. They asked me to take my last review down because I was so accurate in my description of how trash this school is. It probably would be best to go to the cicero location or go to 160. When I went here earlier this year it took me about 3 months to finish (not because of me).They were inconsiderate of students time. They had students waiting around for trucks. Their trucks constantly kept breaking down. You had to fight to get to practice in a truck. Everything I learned I pretty much had to ask other students for help. It was only maybe 2 instructors that were helpful the rest were not helpful at all. And the office staff doesn't care they just want their funding from the government. DO NOT GO TO WERNER. I don't even know why they allow this company to sponsor them. WENER tried to ruin my career before It even started. THIS SCHOOL DOESN'T GIVE YOU ANY OTHER RESOURCES THEY SHOVE WERNER IN YOUR FACE SO THAT THEY CAN GET FUNDING OR WHATEVER BENEFITS THEY GET FROM WERNER. DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL OR WORK FOR WERNER.

Fantastic experience: Just got my CDL this morning and want to say it's been a pretty good experience. There was some highs and lows but, that's just part of facing a new challenge. Equipment isn't perfect but, a lot of students earned their CDL using it. I do have to say thanks to the Staff in this school. They really helped me achieve a goal I set along time ago that finally decided to go after. Thank You and may future students give their full attention and have patience as I did. #TrustTheProcess

Negative experience: Bad school, they fired most of their instructors (Mr.Cooper was their best instructor and they fired him)..., they got a bald headed Caucasian male out in the trucking lot yelling at students and swearing at them. I recommend going through your job for a cdl if you can or a better school...

Fantastic experience: My experience with the school was off to a rocky start but the new administration came and it has been nothing but positive for me! Time in the truck, the structure of the program, skill help and all were great! Would highly recommend progressive to all new, aspiring truck drivers! Thanks to Chavon, first and foremost, for working with me and listening to my request . And Clyde (the legend) for Pre trip, and Keith in the yard.. Fantastic experience: When I first started it was kind of shakey b/ since the administration changed, Ms Chavon & Cristal took over they have made great stride on improving the curriculum. More trucks & more hrs on the yard.As well as addressing issues tjat distrupted progress immediately after being advised by students... Thanks for a big, big change!

Fantastic experience: This school has undergone significant change in past couple of months.Though facing an uphill battle, Chavon came in with a positive and professional agenda. Fantastic experience: The past 2 months at progressive has been tough.There was a change in leadership with new staff brought in,However,the situation has improved greatly,things are now more structured and efficient!This is the place to go if you’re interested in obtaining the skills necessary to earn your CDL.I am now a CDL holder thanks to Progressive!!

Fantastic experience: When I first got here the management was not good but I stuck with it and eventually there was a change in management that was supportive and had a nice schedule, she came from the other school and within a week most of my requests were answered, instructors are very helpful except for one that who seems to have a need to show he’s the “boss” but other than him nothing but high praises for this school

Positive experience: This school has had rough times but recently they have been stepping it up. The new leadership and new system with more trucks help the students have a little more truck time than before.

Negative experience: So to whom it may help or benefit. This school has some passionate instructors and they really will try to assist you in graduating from this school.. i wrote a review about a month ago and here I am again. This is school is overcrowded , Students like myself have 60 hours in skills yet have only been behind the wheel of a truck 10 combined hours including Saturdays which the manager canceled today. What school doesn't provide extra training / instructions for their students. The last 3 weeks Saturdays have helped students like me. The next step for me is addressing those with The Veterans affairs Department

Negative experience: This is the worst school ever would not recommend my husband constantly complains about them and there trucks

Negative experience: This school is the WORST I would suggest going somewhere else if you don’t want your time wasted. This is the 3rd week in a row my husband has been pushed back to test out and he only has to take (Road) due to their trucks being broken down, or it’s not enough testers then it’s over 20 people testing everybody don’t get the chance to test out so they push them back to the following week and now its a over flow every week. For example today my husband left at 5:30a.m to sit there for HOURS only to be told after only TWO people took the road test that the truck broke down. (Which happened last week as well) I don’t understand how this keeps happening. This school cost way to much money to not have operating trucks on test day. I told my husband from the beginning not to go to this school. Save your self the headache and go elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I just want to say thank you, to Mr.Cooper and his staff for giving me the opportunity to complete my training at Progressive Truck Driving School, the Lansing location. My dedicated time going early and staying late, constantly going over pre-trip and going hard on skills and following directions and listening while on the road, all paid off on January 26,2024 I pass my State CDL Test. I'm so humble and grateful and will recommend people to the school that wants to get the training for there CDL.

Fantastic experience: I honestly would consider my time at Progressive Trucking School very valuable and beneficial of growing as a young man. I learned from each and every instructor there by asking questions that were beneficial to me and maybe anyone else who inquired. Fantastic experience: Progressive Trucking School in Lansing Illinois is Home for breeding people ( men and women ) who have a strong desire to become a professional truck driver. Let me start with the staff. Every staff member teacher / instructor in this school has a ton of experience, years of wisdom to pass on down to the next generation. They all are very passionate about the student body. Unloading all the correct information and guidance we need to succeed. Ms. Nancy, Bob, Crystal took care of business as well. Jeff and Malcolm worked outside teaching skills all day with us. GREAT MEN! The great Mr. Clyde was my classroom INCAB instructor, straight to the point business prepared me from a newbie to a licensed professional trucker. He drilled INCAB, coupling, A, B, and C in my head until it grow apart of me! I passed thank you Mr. Clyde 4 ever! I’m Manual, so Mr. Dan and Mr. Dave honed me to the sharpest of their abilities! They are my ROAD teachers. I remember being with Dan my very first time I was scared, however Mr. Dan the man took excellent care of me, showed me how to double clutch changing gears, properly when to up- shift and down- shift. Mr. Dave finished off my training, taking me on the test route! Pointing out all my mistakes, a very laid back man. Help me understand the engine sound. Keep in mind I didn’t know anything about a truck at all! Never driven a truck, was never educated about a truck! COMPLETELY NOTHING! Progressive Trucking School made me. I grew up here from start to finish. With the WIOA program to help me financially. The student body are a bunch of young adults. The seniors help out the new comers, passing the education along. Each one teach one! Diverse nationalities, mixed cultures, male and female students. I love it! I learned a lot from my fellow classmates too. I looked up to my friends and respected my elders, I always genuinely appreciated anyone and everyone who had something to teach me! Thank you guys! I’m very proud of myself and the school! I was their for a reason, plus it was my calling to go their and learn! Progressive is a special place for special people! The latest and the greatest is what I like to call it. It changed my life and yes I struggled but it’s all worth it at the end of the road. Yes, as your reading this listen to my roaring success from Progressive. Last but not least Mr. Cooper! The general manager of the company, dean of discipline, the master mind behind the curtains. A very professional man. The guy dresses cleaner than the board of health. Sharp man, earns and deserves respect and love from everyone! Is their for the people, takes care of his own! Runs that business immaculately. I remember Mr. Copper sitting tree top tall in his office saying good morning Mr. Blanco. You ready? O yeah baby. He has helped me out tremendously. On the skills, he’s the man with the correct plan! Teaching the students off-set and parallel parking to perfection. Mr. Cooper would have deep conversations about life with us. I just love being around that unique breed of people. I love this school, and the staff. Their gonna teach you something you can use and pass along not just right now, but for the rest of your life! GO TO PROGRESSIVES TRUCKING SCHOOL!

Fantastic experience: One of the Best If Not The Best school for truck drivers. Progressive will work with you as long as you put in the work and stay focus. I want to to personally Thank Mr. Cooper, Nancy, Dave, Dan & Clyde for being patient with me. As a 1st time truck driver and manual stick driver, I appreciate the staff for taking the time to make sure I was in the best position to receive all the teaching and every opportunity there was to obtain the goal of getting my cdl. If I missed any names apologies because all the staff here was great and very helpful. I recommend all, if you’re determined to get your CDLs then Progressive is the place to be!

Fantastic experience: I dont know about any other trucking schools, but you definitely wont regret coming to the one in lansing Illinois. GM Mr. Cooper is the must professional down to earth kinda guy you want to have by your side and is not like other GMCs on the car lot, if you get what im saying. Just siting there. Mr. Clyde but i call him, Clyde the glide is not a boring teacher trying to get it over with. He laughs and jokes and keeps everyones attention and learning. Mr. Dan and Mr. Dave are awesome driving instructors and definitely will get u through with time and make you feel confident each time you drive with them. Definitely got to shout out to my fellow classmates as will. We not against eachother and we are all trying to learn together. Fantastic experience: I started progressive in 2022. I went though some trying times in life and had to sit out for a while. When I tell you Mr. Cooper is the most understanding professional respectful GM you would ever wanna meet. Ms. Nancy, Bob, Clyde, Dave, Dan, Jeff & Malcom all are simply amazing people!!!!!!! Fantastic experience: I really enjoyed my time in school from the class with Clyde to learning skills with the instructors and driving on the road with Malcom. The location is good, you get to do everything there in the facility aside from road training obviously… The staff is patient and good at explaining things especially Mr. Cooper.

Fantastic experience: I would like to start off by saying that going back to school is nerve wrecking enough , but going to school for CDL licensing had me intimidated. As soon as I entered the program in the Lansing location, I felt the welcoming vibe. Everyone from the administration workers to the instructors; give you the tools to make you feel confident and comfortable in accomplishing the skill. Mr. Cooper is a man of his word and for him to know everyone’s name, showed me he cared for each individual in the program. He genuinely wants everyone to succeed. I enjoyed my time in this school, I will miss everyone, but I’m blessed to have met so many great people. Fantastic experience: This establishment gets a 5 star for many reasons. I never imagined going into the trucking industry ,however my experience here made me enjoy it. Mr.Cooper is amazing. He’s very knowledgeable about all things pertaining to trucking. I also considered him a life coach at times .He was very patient with all my questions and concerns about my plans after I received my CDL. He went through many adjustments to making sure his students were prepared for test day and allowed us extra time if needed. Mr. Cooper and his staff never gave up on any students here at Progressive, and now my life has changed for the better after receiving my CDL. There are many CDL training schools out there but this was always my 1st pick. If you’re looking for a great experience and knowledgeable instructors I highly recommend Progressive. Fantastic experience: Deciding to get my cdls and picking progressive truck driving school in lansing il , was the best decision I made! Mr. Cooper is the best, he has all the knowledge in trucking i went to him ever day with a million questions and he’d answer all of them! Mr. Coop will go up above and beyond for his student as long as you want it just as bad for YOURSELF! Mr. Clyde “the walking talking Pre trip inspection” He sets the mood for the whole class.. he’s the best Pre trip instructor EVER. Then you have the greatest Road instructors Jeff, Dan the man he was so patient with me and learning how to drive manual. Wanted to switch to automatic so many times but they kept me focused and taught me well, imagine walking in never having driven a stick shift, and now I can drive a 55 footer manual truck! Fantastic experience: My time at Progressive was overall great. Mr. Cooper and Clyde are the best! When you first start it really seems like a lot and it is but if you’re dedicated to learning the material and motivated you’ll be great. Clyde made Pre-Trip easy and fun to learn. Skills have become one of my strongest sections even though it was frustrating at times. Mr. Cooper is awesomeee. He is not an instructor he made it clear he is above that but he helped me a lot in skills and road and when I’ve gotten frustrated. Another great person who made truck driving school a breeze. Everything is about what you make of it and my experience was great. Started March 27th and got my CDLs June 23rd!!

Negative experience: This school has there very few students that they favor so they can write good reviews. Cooper talks a big game but not really about it. Then Ms B has the biggest attitudes sometimes when you ask her a simple question. At the end I want whats best for people to get their CDL and succeed. I think progressive staff has gotten too comfortable in their spot. Yall know You I am and im not hiding, yall got all my person info so yall can call me or what ever.

Negative experience: School is terrible not enough trucks your stuck in a class until you pass 5 test in a hot seat..Students are help each other to learn teacher are not helping you at all.Beware also if your out for Thirty days or more due too any situation you have to take a drop all over again and if it’s dirty they kicking you out with no refund of your money if you paid cash this is the most terriblest school I’ve every attended in my life highly not recommended

Negative experience: Not a great notch on your belt. Taking many students but not giving out good teaching. Students teaching students whole the school collect the wioa and cash payments. Truck aways broken. Don't wait your time and money at this school. Once you are in you will get pushed around knowing your money is already with the school.

Negative experience: I'd absolutely love to give this company a good review but I've been calling for a few days and haven't had a single response of anyone answering the phone. I've hit every # 1-4 when prompted to do so and it all takes me to the same person's voicemail regardless of which number I press. If someone would please contact me some way I'd like to find out about your classes.

Positive experience: So i switched from Cicero location and honestly im graduating before some people that started 9 months ago in Cicero. I started nov 1st. Testing feb 18th.. Better kept facility.. More trucks.. Still kind of disorganized because of mismanagement of funds in the whole progressive system (3 facilities) but they do very well with that they have.. And holiday season and high influx of new students.. More organized.. They fix their trucks. Cicero doesn't. They can keep instructors around Cicero can't.. Progressive has 1 mech and he stays around lansing. Cicero has a yard full of dead trucks..

Fantastic experience: My experience at progressive was pretty cool. They gave me all the tools i need to learn and skills to be ready to drive trucks. I will recommend this school to anybody that wants to get there cdl in the south suburbs

Fantastic experience: This is definitely one of the best trucking school in the Chicago/lansing area. With the amount of patients they have with students, even when the Time paid for runs out the still give individuals a second shot to be able to get stuff together.

I would highly recommend coming to progressive Truck Driving School it was a great experience & the staff was very helpful. Mr. cooper, Clyde, and Ms. Bryant are the people to see to seek help with anything.

Fantastic experience: At the beginning of the course, it seems overwhelming the amount of information you have to take in and remember, especially with pretrip. But Clyde get right on the pretrip side. Ms B is an exceptional administrator who also knows basically everything possible about trucking as well. Mack got me together on my skills. His laid back style of instructing worked best for me. Have to give the biggest shoutout to GM Cooper though. That man is the calming presence you need when you’re flustered and feeling unsure. And he makes sure you get the time you need in whatever area you need it in. Overall, the experience wasn’t what I expected but I went into my tests with the utmost confidence and passed on the first try. Would recommend to the next person!

Fantastic experience: My experience at Progressive Truck Driving School was great! This was my introduction to driving a manual truck and everything was very thorough. Clyde was an awesome pre-trip instructor. Mrs Bryant was an awesome administrator. Dave and Dan really got me together on the road. The biggest thanks goes to the GM Mr. Cooper. The time he took to make sure we would be ready for test day was unmeasurable. I definitely recommend this school. They figure out a way to make things work out to get you in the path to your truck driving career!

Fantastic experience: In the beginning things seems rocky and you pretty much have to show how important this is to you. But once your in it all the encouragement and staff assist you to make sure you not only obtain your license but they apply hands on training. Clyde method of teaching you pre-trip is humorous but it works 100% Cooper going to get your right when it comes to learning skills(which is parking) Dan is by far the most sweetest and calmest instructor to be on the road with but Pat has a amazing way of showing you how to downshift. Last but not least when it’s time for you to graduate and you fail they make sure you pass the next time.

Fantastic experience: I'm grateful for my time over at Progressive! I looked forward to my devoted 8hr days of muscle memory in the yard and driving every day. Showing up everyday was key for me. Great staff! I'm going to miss the grind of learning so much and finding my comfort zone to execute them properly. Mr. Cooper is very articulate in the yard and breaks things down consistently to a science which helps you a lot in each skill maneuver especially parallel. I felt like I was in college again...Lol thanks Cooper By far the best trucking school

Fantastic experience: Progressive trucking in Lansing Illinois is one of the most resourceful and educated places for trucking. The instructors Pat, Clyde, Dave, Hubbard Jones and Mr. Cooper were extremely knowledgeable, patient and understanding of their students. Everyday felt like it got easier. Success is their goal and they are willing to go beyond the norm to make sure you succeed. I highly recommend getting your CDL at this school.

Fantastic experience: I can't state enough good things about the Lansing location of Progressive Truck Driving School. They Will supply you with understanding and everything you need to start your career. All the instructors do a great job and offer something different to mold you. It was a very awesome experience. Looking back now. I appreciate everything they've done more then I thought I would.

Fantastic experience: Progressive Truck Driving School was amazing for me here. You have all these wonderful people who will push you to do better, and motivate you. Mr. Cooper is a wonderful guy who's always positive, Bob, and Robert the man to go to. Clyde is the guy to put it into your system like you will know what to do. Pat don't sugarcoat nothing, Mr. Jones is cool, and laid back. Ms. Tarosa is amazing, and gets you pumped. I can't remember the other wonderful people names that works their because I am so excited right now but this is the School you want to go to like you will be a happy camper when you graduate, and appreciate all they have done for you.

Fantastic experience: The road trainer Ms. Torosa is awesome! She makes you feel very comfortable driving. She's very patient but stern to make sure you get the knowledge you need to become a professional driver. And a very welcoming personality!

Fantastic experience: This is a good school to learn from. Not just from the instructors but from the other students also. Everyone helps everyone. Your time in the yard is just as important as your time on the road & just as important as the time "you" put in to learn pre-trip. Keep up with your hours & speak up if you feel like you're not getting called enough for training. The staff is understanding. Be on time & do your best. Goodluck drivers, I'll see you out there!

Negative experience: Mr.Cooper and schareese and Daryl thomas was wonderful. Need more trainers on skills. Honestly need more people like the 3 I mentioned up top. They push people so hard they make you want go at it. School overall not organized.

Fantastic experience: Progressive driving school was an overall good experience for me. Clyde is one of the best pre trip instructors you will come by. The trucks aren’t the best but they will get you through. Organization is one of the things that could be improved but in the end they will help you get your cdl.

The equipment could have been better. Some trucks had issues but I managed to work with them. Overall I had a great experience!

Positive experience: This school has a lot of ups just as much as it has downs. The teachers are willing to work with all and any who's willing to listen. Especially if your dealing with Clyde. But you gotta be willing to put in work in and outside of school cause there's alot of students their. Its not 100% punctual with graduation date but you WILL graduate.

Positive experience: Had a good experience overall but there could be more instructors on campus to graduate in the expected time. I passed every test on the first try so there is a lot of knowledge being passed out if you listen.

Negative experience: This school only cares about money and how many students they can get. They give you a Target date to complete the course but you will never complete it on time. The reason for that is because its too many students and few instructors. With there being more students than instructors the students barely get any training. There has been numerous times my name wasn't called for the day because they didn't have enough trucks and instructors to train me. On the days I did get trained they would only have time to train me 1 hr out of an 8 hr course.

Fantastic experience: Shareese makes the school operate 100 times better god bless shareese TOROSA is one of the best driving instructors at the school progressive Matt is one the best in structure for offsetting and straight backing if it wasn’t for those three people I wouldn’t of never past and also I can’t forget Clyde he teaches pre trip in a special way that make not be able to forget it

Positive experience: Pre -Trip Skills and Road instructor's are good at what they do. However I feelt hey should incorporate more real life situations like shifting while your pulling a loaded trailer and coupling and uncoupling....

Positive experience: Overall this school will get you to where you going if you stay focus the 4 stars because it needs a little organization but overall the new administration and position changes are bringing the school along well much better and shout out to clyde he the mvp out here a get you on top of that pretrip

Fantastic experience: This was the best experience i ever had to get my Class A CDL. I had a Class B when i came to the school, making me eligible for the 80 hour upgrade. The instructors really made the classes interesting they worked well with me. I learned they all teach it different but in time i learned how to be a professional truck driver. This is the place to be to get your CDL. If i had to come again i definitely would.

Negative experience: It was a good experience. But Progressive is noticeably only about the money more than the students best interest. If u dont have the money to pay this week then you cant learn any driving skills that week and so forth. So I would only recommend attending if u are going through a grant or job that's going to pay for you to attend. But other than that the staff are great. But whoever the big bosses are they need to show more compassion for people who are only in the school to make life changes and to help as much as possible.
