Negative experience: The worst DD course I've ever taken and then at the end they try to scam you into paying an extra $25 to get your cert digitally! If you deny they make another offer to get the digital copy for $10. I would not recommend this class to anyone for any reason.

They advertised "ONLY $25 with Promo Code" then they charged $28 in your bank account- oh ok BUT THEN after the test they take you more $25 so total is $53 gone!! What?!! They advertise that defensive driving cost $25 but I have 3 separate transactions that showed up on my credit card for my son to take a defensive driving course- Totaling $100.79!!! I am outraged and in shock by this company scamming people. Defensive driving and printing a certificate at home DOES NOT COST $100.79. This company should be reported!

Negative experience: The worst thing is that they are scammers.They charged me $28 for the class and $54.32 to download and print the certificate. In total, it's $82.32, which is too much for what they claim it costos.

Negative experience: Avoid online course at all costs. Find another company. Website is trash from 2001. Progress bar is never present and doesn't even accurately show you how far you have gone. Questions are often confusing and spent minimal amount on content. There are 0 diagrams showing the traffic situations/signage that its talking about. It is clear the company spends its efforts on marketing and not on its technology or course content.

Negative experience: Horrible content, horrible website and experience, slowest delivery of certificate ever. This company will try to nickel and dime you into driving records, and the ability to download your certificate by making the alternative painfully slow. How are you gonna charge people to *not* waste the cost of mail... ridiculous when aceable and others provide it free.
Zach, we offer a Type 3A Driving Record because many courts require this as a requirement to dismiss your ticket. If you don't need it, no worries! The reason we remind our students is to avoid a situation where they've completed their course and have their Certificate, but when they go to dismiss their ticket; they're missing one of the requirements.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with this course! I paid $40 for it, TWICE!!! My son was halfway through the course, on a Sunday, when customer service is CLOSED! Halfway through the course, it LOCKS HIM OUT! I paid for it AGAIN, just so my son could finish it and get a certificate! WHICH, BTW, HE HAS NOT RECEIVED! So I already need a $40 refund and then it's advertised all over for $25! I need a refund of $55 and I will change my review. My son needs the certificate as well!

Negative experience: This company is fraud. Do not trust the company. I was here for a insurance and I was charged 35 instead of 25 as they claimed. Negative experience: Absolutely the worst place. The representatives are awful. I just had to ask my credit card to refund my money. Literally scammers. Update response: Recordings never lie. You have poor customer service who hangs up the call when asked to be directed over to speak to a supervisor. And when I call back they just didn’t answer.

Negative experience: Do not use this company they are misleading and fraudulent. I paid $35 for the course and an additional $25 to print the the certificate. For them to mail me a copy it’s free. I could’ve just waited for a free copy I didn’t need it today. At the end, do not put your credit card info in. It’s for them to charge you an additional $25. Use a cheaper company who won’t mislead you and take your hard earned money.

Negative experience: The course was fine but the customer service was horrible. When I called in to deal with a minor technical issues on downloading the course certificate the customer service agent was just outright rude. I called in to solve a relatively simple problem and what I got was an obnoxious attitude from poorly trained staff. On the first and second call I got transferred to the manager which was actually a VM and not the manager. On the third call they just didn't answer and told me to leave a message. On the 4th call I finally got a different customer service representative that handled my problem in approximately 2 minutes. So it took me 30 minutes to handle a 2 min problem and I had to deal with a rude, obnoxious staff member. Ridiculous!

Negative experience: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They trick you into paying an extra $25 at the end of the program. Make it look like you have to pay $25 to print your certificate when you have finished the entire program.

Negative experience: Underhanded and sneaky advertising. They advertise a $25 course. There is a text class and a video class. You can click on a “what’s the difference between the 2” and no where does it say one costs more than the other. It advertises that you can instantly download you certificate, and you can, but no where do they tell you they will charge you an extra $25. So you end up paying $70 for a video made in 2003. They offer to get your driving record for $27.50, but you can download it yourself for $12 on the do’s website. Use a different website. This is a scam to drain every single cent from you. False advertising all around.

Negative experience: If I could give them 0 stars, I would. The customer service is HORRIBLE, and the people are rude. How they have been in business for 20 years, I do not know. I have called for the past three days to speak with a supervisor, and one is never available. I talked to Chris this morning, who hung the phone in my face to give an example. My initial problem was I completed the program on January 5th and ordered my certificate via the mail. Today is the 10th day; the certificate has yet to be received, and they need to provide tracking numbers too. Once again, I need to understand how a business operates for 20 years and ships out mail without an exact tracking number. My following action is to report them to the BBB to ensure that other customers do not suffer from this company's negligence.

Negative experience: Be aware. They ask for your card information for the cost of the course. $25.00. No problem. What they DO NOT tell you is at the end of the test, they ask for your card information AGAIN because they will not allow you to download the certificate without paying a $35.00 additional fee. This is deceptive and will be reported to TDLR. The FULL COST of the course should be collected at the beginning with the knowledge that you will receive the needed certificate upon passing the course. To me, all of these courses are scams. In cooperation with the state, they allow shady people to make money. In the end, after all of the court fees and now 55.00 to these people, it cost more than just paying the fine.

Negative experience: I've used them before and it was good previously, but this time I am just so upset all around with the customer service and the hassle to get my correct certificate. Terrible customer service and extremely unreliable. I took the text course online and my certificate was mailed to me with the completely wrong DL #... don't even know where that number came from. The customer service rep on the phone was was rude and sounded like they had just woken up when I called to have it corrected. I was mailed me a new certificate and received it with another wrong DL #. Another attempt to get it fixed, received an email that my certificate would be delivered on 9/16 via FedEx... today is 9/28 and I still hadn't received it. My certificate was apparently in my account as an instant download but I was never told that would be how I would receive my certificate - I expected it to arrive via mail since I had received my previous two in the mail, and the email I received after I called about incorrect info on my certificate said it would be SHIPPED via FedEx. The person I spoke to on the phone today to help me resolve this issue was very short with me and hung up on me once I said I found the certificate in my account. No "thank you for calling" or "I'm happy to have helped you" after I was nothing but kind trying to get my problem resolved.

Negative experience: They charged my sons card for his driving record that he did not receive. I went online to attempt to download and i was charged twice. I called customer service to issue a refund and was treated horribly but a gentlemen. He talked down to me and was condescending and i will never use this company again. He needs to be removed from any field related to customer service. He stated he did not have to issue a refund at all , he was doing me a courtesy.

Negative experience: The advertising is misleading. It says only $25 and that certificate download is available, but it doesn't say that it costs an additional $25 to get an instant download. Besides that the course is very long and repeats many points just to fill out the state required course length. I should have just spent half a day in comedy defensive driving class and got it over a lot quicker, easier and, cheaper. The course constantly harasses you to verify who you are and you have to answer many quizzes throughout.

The course is the minimum length allowed by state law. Part of that is verifying that person is taking the course themselves. Those elements are requirements of any official Texas defensive driving course.

Negative experience: Course is fine, but this website is a SCAM. They deceive you on the front page saying you can download the certificate once you finish the course. Once you do, boom, there's a $25 extra fee to download it electronically, or you'll have to wait for 7-10 days for them to mail your certificate. This fee is NEVER mentioned on their website prior to purchasing the course. They are doing this intentionally to trick you into buying from them. In total, it would be $60 if you take the video course. Other websites will do this for a total of $25-$35.

Negative experience: The course is simple to navigate online using the Video Method. Be aware that there is a concealed cost of $25 for printing your defensive driving certificate. This was unexpected and not directly mentioned during sign up. Negative experience: BEFORE YOU GO SIGNING UP WITH THESE GUYS PLEASE READ THIS!!! I was attracted to this website because of the low $35 course fee it advertised. Now after taking my course, I was excited to quickly print out and use for the purpose I wanted it anyways. But behold, I was asked to pay an undisclosed $25 fee to download my own certificate I thought I had paid for. This got me really upset that I called their customer's service immediately. The lady gave me an option to have it mailed to me in 8 - 10 business days for free. Luckily for me as I thought, I didnt need it urgently, so I had all the time to wait. But then again their deception did not end there, these guys wanted to try everything to frustrate me to make sure I paid the $25 fee. After about 10 days without the certificate in my mail, I got an email that said my home address was incorrect and the mail was returned to the office. This infuriated me because this was the same address I have received mails on multiple times with the USPS, etc. I called the customers service again to express my dissatisfaction about this whole issue. The Customers service rep was all but receptive or helpful. I affirmed that the same address she had was correct without making any correction to it. I waited almost 10 days again and the certificate did not arrive. Then I called a third time. This time a guy picked up, he assured me that the certificate was posted. That same day I got a mail that my certificate has just been shipped. This meant that the previous girl did not take any action on it. Finally around 5 days after that, the certificate arrived in my mail box. Please note, I didnt change my address. This was my personal bad experience with them and I will never recommend anyone to take this course with DefensiveDriving.com.

We dismiss hundreds of tickets daily without incident. In the rare cases where there is an issue, our team assists respectfully and with an extraordinary amount of patience.

Negative experience: Hidden extra charge of $25 for downloading your certificate - so total cost is $50, not $25, which isn't disclosed until you're done with the course. Additionally, this course is archaic. Very outdated

We include a copy to send to your insurance provider for an additional possible discount on your insurance of up to 10% for 3 years. If you feel that you were charged in error please reach out to our local customer support team and we can get that resolved.
Negative experience: Took online class for insurance discount. Class was $10 more than every other placed researched. Chose it anyway because I like options they had to take it. I chose video format over reading. Said I had option to print or overnight certificate. After completing course the option of printing was $25. After completing everything that went down to $10, but they are already overpriced and not worth it.

Negative experience: PREDATORY. At the end of the course, you must pay $25 to download, otherwise they send by standard mail, which could take weeks. This is not made apparent at the beginning of the course, or when advertised that you could download at the end there was no mention of the additional fee! This is an obvious money grab and I feel duped because I have to pay $50 total for a course advertised as $25!!

Negative experience: I took this course to dismiss a speeding ticket received in Texas. While the course was as interesting as it could be, they keep their pricing hidden. Their pricing is not transparent - you have to register to see the different options. They also practically pull a bait and switch in regards to the pricing of downloading the certificate immediately. Based on their website and the way it was advertised, I got the impression that the downloadable certificate was included with the course. I learned at the end of the course this was not the case and had to pay additional to download it. I've gone back to look at the website and couldn't find anywhere it said there was an additional cost to download it. I did know better than to use them to get the required certified driving record, as you can get it much cheaper and just as easy through Texas DPS online. I recommend looking elsewhere for a defensive driving course.

The issue with the Certificate of Completion delivery is something that our Customer Support team can assist with, even if you've already completed the course. That information is shown on the Certificate page, but we understand that there is a lot of information being provided to you, and it's possible to overlook this information.
Negative experience: Total 1 Star, these guys lure you in with a 25$ course, however its only if you choose to read the entire course. to sit through the videos its 35$. They also advertise that you can download your certificate, and you can, after paying another 25$ So, realistically, to do the course and have your certificate in 1 day you're paying over 60$ for it. Horrible. Do not use this website, check in google for other options, because this website just a robbery.

Negative experience: I had finished my course, I forgot to put my license plate. After I had finished my class, i had to print out a certificate of assurance and fill it out before they could mail my certificate. I had call if they can fix it . I am just doing this for insurance discount. They were unable to fix it at all . I had to get the certificate of assurance notarized also.Dam I am not using this online class anymore or refer them to other.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience of the Statement of Assurance. We have a very large warning on that page that if you do not have your license plate information available to please stop and retrieve it, otherwise we will be legally required to receive a Statement of Assurance. We offer that large warning because we understand that can be a hassle and we do not want our students to have to fill it out either. We're always looking for new ways to make that as clear as possible, and regret that you had to take those additional steps.
Negative experience: While I have used successfully used this company in the past, this time around was less than acceptable. Waiting on hold for 2 hours to receive customer support despite sending two separate emails to their customer service inbox. Clearly, the promise of 24/7 support and getting back to you “right away” is not accurate. This is a real time post. So, I’m hoping this will help expedite resolution of the issues.

Negative experience: This site is the biggest money grab, and I regret using the service. They trap you with extra charges to download your completed documents that other sites offer for free. Of course they will mail it for free but say that will take 2 weeks...I wish that I did more research before using this service, never giving them another penny.

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend this venue to dismiss your ticket. The online classes were interesting and easy to follow. I actually made a mistake when filling my information in and Andrea was extremely helpful and understanding in getting this resolved. Andrea is the example of how customer service should be handled. As far as other comments of people complaining that they charge extra for immediate delivery of the certificate, don't wait til the last minute and you'll be good. Handle your stuff early and this course will only cost you $35 for the video version.

Negative experience: This website is nothing less of a scam. One, It doesn't tell you first but if you choose video course it's $35 (Not $25). Two, after completion of the course if you try to download the certificate it's another $25 just to download the certificate. If you want express delivery it's $35. God knows how long that "Express Delivery" will take. Because they are awful. Because I choose normal delivery (Free of charge). It was supposed to take 7-10 business days. After 17 business days I didn't get anything. Then I had to call them and ask them to allow me to download the certificate because my court date was due. I had no effing idea about these charges. I took this course before in other website too but they allowed me to instantly download the certificate free of charge.

Negative experience: I registered for the course on 7/14/2019 at 4:46 PM and immediately started the course. About an hour into the course, their site was having difficulties and the session I was trying to watch kept freezing in one spot and would not move play. I called them and their phone system was down and the recording said to leave a message and they would call back the next day. Well, over two weeks later, and they still have not called me back about that issue. I received an email from them on 7/14/2019 at 6:00 PM offering me $10.00 off of registration. I registered for the course just over one hour before they sent me the discount offer. I emailed them on 7/15/2019 and 7/17/2019 asking how I can redeem the $10.00 off and get the amount applied to my credit card as a credit. I never received a response. Eventually I figured out I could get around their video issue by skipping about five minutes of that part of the video and then everything worked as expected. After I finished the course, I received an email on 7/17/2019 asking me to review the course. When I clicked the link in their email, it took me to a page that said, "Thanks for your interest in reviewing our service. Please use the link we sent you by email to leave your review." I emailed them about this issue two times and never heard back from them. I called them on 7/29/2019 in hopes to get the $10.00 credit and for someone to at least tell me how to leave a review on their web site and for them to acknowledge the customer support message I left them when I had the playback issues. The agent said he could not do anything to help me because it was two weeks past the registration date. I told him I emailed several times and left a VM and no one responded. He said he couldn't do anything to help me. I asked to be transferred to a manager. I was transferred, left a VM for a call back, and as expected, I have heard from no one again. The course material itself was pretty good and kept my attention. However, do not rely on their marketing of 24/7 customer support. I attempted to contact them over six times via phone and email and they have not returned my inquiry once. And, another user brought up the issue with the clock and timer. I encountered this as well. I think the issue occurs when the user does not wait the required time between sessions and while a video might be 40 minutes long, the timer requires 50 minutes to include the 10 minute break.

Negative experience: First time, I took the course online from this company. I been cheated By the company. I pay for defensive driving course cost $25 and they cheated on me said that I needed to order Driving Record For $27.50 which include the Defensive Driver course. When I check my credit card its show they charge me twice one is $25 and other is $27.50 . I google online the Driver Record only cost $12.00 . Im not sure why the Driver’s record even cost more than defensive driving course. This is ridiculous and they lies about their fee since most of Online Defensive Course offers option to instantly bring out your certificate and this Company want to charge $25 for email delivery. Any how, I still havent received my certificate yet after almost a week they mailed my certification.

Negative experience: The clock doesn't work correctly so a 40min module may take 60mins. The content is old and videos are low quality. On one of the begging screens it says you will have access to download the cert immediately. Then on the last screen it says you have to pay an ADDITIONAL $25 to get instant access. The website is one click after another trying to trick you into spending more money.

Negative experience: I took this course a couple months ago to have a ticket dismissed. It got the job done, but note that it costs $25 to take the online course then another $25 to download your certificate. There are definitely two $25 charges on my credit card statement from them, so I wanted to clear that up for those who are wondering about the true cost.

Positive experience: Had to call them up to get the right court name on my certificate. Which i had to pay an extra $10. Either i missed the option to put the court name or it wasnt there at all, but either way it was annoying. Anyway Chad helped me out with it, he just mumbled a lot so he was hard to hear over the phone.

Fantastic experience: Couldn’t access copy of my driving record. Called support center and spoke with Sun. Sun was the most patient and helpful person I’ve ever dealt with. I’m not the most tech savvy person but Sun walked me through the process and stayed on the line with me until I got it! Defensive Driving is extremely lucky to have Sun on their team taking care of customers! If the company doesn’t have an employee appreciation program that rewards employees for their hard work and dedication they should definitely start one! HORRIBLE customer support, will continuously lie and claim they are a "supervisor"... if you want to bust them in a lie, just call back and ask for a supervisor and one of the generic employees might actually pass you to one.

Fantastic experience: I had problems understanding how to work the website and i managed to re-register for the class without obtaining my certificate of completion. I had to call customer support and the worker named Chris helped me out quickly, informed me of everything he did to solve the problem, and answered all my questions politely.

Negative experience: WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!!---------I chose the "text" course since i didn't have headphones at the time. To my surprise there are videos throughout that course as well, and most of the questions are on the videos. Which, I noticed it would quiz you on some of the video material, before you got to the page with the video. P.S. It did not mention anywhere on the signup page that instant download for your certificate costs $25. <<---This is a scam.....
Hi Jacob, the text course requires the minimum amount of animated/video content allowed by law as explained. You should be more than capable of completing it with or without headphones. We also offer FREE Certificate delivery. Over 2 million dismissed certificates is not a scam, nor a joke.
Negative experience: Very deceiving website. You pay $25 for the course, another $10 for having it in video format. Then if you want to download your certificate, it's another $25. If I had known, I wouldn't have used this place. Lesson learned.

Hi Amber, it seems you're having a much different experience than everyone else. It's a state-mandated 6-hour course, which it is. I'm not sure how the course could take 15 hours to complete. Please contact Customer Support, clearly there's an issue.
Positive experience: Easy site to use and register for, but the fees I don’t feel are upfront, I took the course because of a speeding ticket and site says 25$ but video is actually 35$, they need to also list the fact in the beginning it’s 25$ to download , 35$ for next day delivery and free 5-7days standard mail for those doing it at the last min , luckily I have a few weeks still and we will see if the cert makes it on time, be prepared to answer each question in 60seconds, and pay attention because they will ask questions related to verify you are actually watching, they’re not hard as long as you watch, there was also 2 security questions that I can remember I’m not a fan of but I do understand they’re needed , for instance lic plate number or first letter of my father on my birth certificate who I don’t know and I had to make phone call to my mother and call my wife because she had my car, over all I’ve used them before and I know they work so I trusted the site, I also did mine the 6 hrs straight required by law and it forces a 12min break between each course so it can be done

Positive experience: Great refresher course. So many people these days have forgotten or were never taught most of this stuff, as evidenced by their driving. This type instruction should be required EVERY time you renew your license.

Fantastic experience: I took vidio course. I passed on 4th Decembet. I never received paper certificate even after 17 days. I had called at least two times to remind and complaint. No fruits. On my 3rd calling on 21st or so ... Kenedra answered the call. I was blessed. She took this issue very seriously. She consulted her supervisors. She FedEx me the hard copy of certidicate. Not only that, she kept me informed until I received it. So.. If I had still my business, I would hire her in my team. Excellent customer service.

Negative experience: Absolute thievery. The course is advertised as costing $25 when it actually costs more for the video version. In addition, they charge $25 just to get your certificate, which seems like it should be included. The upselling is also ridiculous in that they are trying to charge $25+ to have your driving record included, which can be ordered from elsewhere for about $10. Not to mention the inconvenience and idiocy of having to get a notarized Statement of Assurance that I was not informed of until after nearly all notaries were closed. The cherry on top is using my phone number to send me inane, useless messages without my permission. Spend your hard earned dollars elsewhere and save yourself a world of inconvenience and irritation
Hi Christie, we offer both a $25 and $35 course. Both of which will give you the same Certificate of Completion as clearly stated on the site. On top of that, we will mail you the Certificate of Completion for free (still just $25 total!). With that said, we also have a variety of services for our students who may need extra items since every student has unique needs. Nothing above the initial $25 is mandatory.
Negative experience: It was a great course. Unfortunately due to my own fault I had to reorder my certificate. I wanted to change my address to get shipped to my apartment instead of my parents house but I was told it would be $10 JUST TO CHANGE MY SHIPPING ADDRESS. Not to mention I was already paying $35 for express shipping. I think it is RIDICULOUS that they were going to charge me for $10 just to change the address it was shipped to. Very unhappy about it.

Positive experience: I was pretty frustrated with the fact that they left off reason for taking the course on my certificate. I didn't realize that until I received a notification to appear in court because that was missing. When I called to get another certificate, I was told I had to pay the $35 to get the certificate in time to meet court deadline. I shouldn't have to pay extra when the mistake was not mine.
