Fantastic experience: I had an amazing time at this school! My instructor, Willie Pinelli, taught me everything I needed to know. He's a great instructor, and he really cares about his students. We talked often and he would tell me stories about his life, while also helping me during the lessons. He gave me tips about how to remember the rules of the road. Juan Carlos always took care of me and made sure everything was sorted right, and helped me with my paperwork. I only needed 10 lessons of 45 minute sessions before my final driving test, which I passed on the first try! I really had a great time at this school. Thank you Willie!

Fantastic experience: No school or instructor can just feed knowledge into your brain . Besides lessons, you MUST find time to watch many videos and study well at home. CDL requires HOURS of dedicated study and commitment. I took the road test on 12/11/2024 and passed on the first attempt! Instructor Mr. Rafael Portorre was a nice, gentle man, gave me a lot of confidence and answered my questions without hesitation. In the back office, Mr. Rick was extremely helpful with scheduling lessons and answering questions. Overall, they are one of the best affordable options $$$! Fantastic experience: During my three-month driving training experience, I initially had an instructor who struggled to understand my lack of experience as a 32-year-old learner. However, I later received instruction from Aida, who was patient and adaptive in her teaching approach. Despite failing my first road test due to nerves, Aida provided ongoing support and guidance, ultimately helping me pass my second road test. I am grateful for her assistance and consider the investment in driving lessons to be worthwhile.

If you ever start your lessons here ask for Omar he’s the best. He listens to problems that you may have during your lessons such as three point turn or parallel parking.

I’ve had my license for 3 years and haven’t really had the opportunity to drive and now as I’m starting the journey again, I was paired with Willie and he is the best! Today was my first day back on the road and he made me feel so comfortable and confident! He was extremely patient, encouraging and understanding. I started off the lesson feeling nervous and ended it feeling confident. If you need a great teacher, choose Willie ! You won’t regret it ! He’ll take good care of you !!!

Fantastic experience: I’m leaving 5 stars for the staff at the office, pricing, cleanliness of the office and my personal experiences with them. As it pertains to my actual driving lessons go, I’ll say 3ish stars will suffice. I’ll break all this down now. Compared to other schools in and around the area, BDS was by far the best rates. For my story, I was taking school bus endorsement lessons to obtain my CDL. My first day walking into the office I was greeted by a shorter gentleman who was busy with another client. He acknowledged me and (while I was in the restroom) managed to grab someone else to assist me so I didn’t wait around too long. He was very professional and such a small thing like acknowledging someone goes a long way, especially considering he was already pre occupied. I really appreciated that. From there I was greeted by Aimee, who instructed me where to meet the bus for every session. Aimee was a godsend. She alone deserves more stars than Google will allow me to give. Any time she needed to communicate with me for any reason, she was on the money. She’s courteous and professional on another level. Now, I’ll get to my actual lessons. Raphael was my instructor. Nice enough guy I suppose and what not but if you’re like me and became obsessed with passing this road test and you spent literally hundreds of hours reading articles and watching YouTube videos then you may pass your test. As far as hands on, Raphael wasn’t very much that as far as an instructor goes. He wasn’t very personable and his demeanor can be off putting. Off the bat whenever I had a simple question, I was met with face palms and eye rolling. Simple questions, not stupid questions, I assure you. So when I realized this would be the case during only lesson 1 (out of 6), I knew I had to devote more time watching videos just to give myself the confidence when it came to road test time. During offset and parallel parking, he really didn’t instruct me. He just kinda waived his arms and whistled at me from outside when it came to maneuvering the bus. So that sucked. Again, I watched many YouTube videos showing me the proper way to do this and for that reason alone, I was able to pass that portion of the road test with ease. He was strong in some areas where he was weak in others, hence the 3 stars. If anyone I know wants lessons, I don’t really know if I would trust recommending them entirely to BDS just based on that alone. If you want to learn anything else then sure, but just feeling as miserable as I felt for those 6 lessons, and knowing I needed the behind the wheel training, I sucked it up and just tolerated him. As far as my testing goes, I failed my first go around on the simple fact that I hit a curb (auto fail)Nobody’s fault but my own for forgetting to made a wide enough turn but passed everything else. Rebooked a 2nd road test and I sure af didn’t make that mistake again (I passed). I also didn’t have to retake anything but the driving portion but they also will have you re-do air breaks jus to ensure the vehicle is safe to drive. My advice to anyone is to put in the work and research. Watch as many videos as your eyes and brain can handle just so the lingo (pre trip inspection) can become second nature. Plz watch videos as it pertains to parking as well as the small details that you may not get with Raphael (as lease he didn’t mention them to me), like how much to turn the wheel and how to make turns based on how many cones you see in the mirror is crucial to properly parking. Obsess over the pre trip stuff to where you’re practicing it even while driving your personal vehicle because if you sound like you know what you’re talking about then you’ll likely know what you’re talking about, if that makes sense. thanks for reading my long winded review and thanks to everyone at BDS, even Raphael =)

Fantastic experience: So, this is the makeup to a previous review I did on Bronx Driving School and let me say that Rick and Amy who work the front desk at this business are very patient, helpful, motivating , accommodating and most off , helpful. After , my negative experience with Raphael and the 18 class B driving classes I took with Raphael, which essentially lead to me failing the exam because I wasn’t adequately trained for the CDL CLASS B exam initially was supplemented when I received the positive feedback, patience and encouragement from the instructor, “WALTER” who was amazing. Any questions , I had in regards to the CDL exam , were answered and he was motivating even after I failed one time after a lesson I had with him. However, I only had to take two (2) classes with Walter to notice a complete change in my assessment of the exam and my results. I finally passed my CDL CLASS B exam and I would like to thank Rick, Amy and Walter for all being a great and positive staff at BRONX DRIVING SCHOOL located at 1213 Castle Hill Avenue .

She was my Primarily instructor and Jesus man she was the best and kindest person you can ever have like seriously she gave me her contact information anytime I need help and teaches me everything I got to know for the test. Fantastic experience: I don’t even know where to begin to express how grateful I am to come across this school. After trying for years, I failed my road test 4 times. I got discouraged and did not drive for four years. With my permit about to expire, I decided to give it another shot and passed on my first try! I have WILLIE PINELLI to thank for it all. I was so nervous the first time I took my lesson, but Willie gave me the confidence I needed and made driving light and fun. Fantastic experience: Willi was my instructor and I liked him and the way he teaches, such a nice dedicated and patient person. Always in a great mood and teaches splendid. He has a great parking system that helped so much and made it so easy to park and memorize. The same goes with the Three point turns and sharp turns. Fantastic experience: Willie, who was my instructor was wonderful. He took his time with teaching me on what to expect on the drivers test. I also remember that he took me to the orchard beach parking lot area and placed cones to help me with my parking. he also played the role as a drivers test instructor which made me get a lot of insights on what to expect on the test. Willie also showed me some tricks on parking, because that was the area I was weakest in. He also encouraged me to take more classes with him so that he can help me better perfect my weakest areas. I was able to find my comfort and confidence driving the car. That helped me in the long run. I passed my drivers test and it was all thanks to the skills and advice Willie gave me. I would most defiantly recommend him to anyone who dose not have experience and who is willing to take classes at this driving school. I really thank you all for your support.

Fantastic experience: I passed my road test with this school. If it wasn’t for my great instructor Willie!, teaching me the ins and outs of successfully passing my road test. Especially parking! If you have a hard time parking, Willie is the guy for you. He is patient and he will give you critical feed back so you can be successful in your every day driving!

Negative experience: The school and driving instructions need to make better judgement of when students should take the road test and careful select roat test site location. The Havemeyer Bronx Road Test Site is not the best location for some students due to the long wait time , lack of staff which I saw and heard people from other schools complaining of being rushed on the road test.

He is an amazing instructor, super nice and his parking technique is very easy to learn, I got it down on the first day. Very patient and gave me confidence in my driving. Fantastic experience: Thankful that I passed my road test the other day thanks to the amazing instructors! A special thank you to both Willie and Ruth who’ve helped me out A LOT. Willie made parallel parking so EASY with a simple maneuver trick that helped me on my road test! He is very friendly and gave me a lot of confidence going into my test. His instructions were clear and to the point, allowing me to pick up on these skills with ease. Ruth was amazing!! She helped me to gain more confidence being behind the wheel and instructed me on how to maintain a proper speed, park the car, and properly maneuver myself on the main road without being fearful of other cars. I used to be extremely nervous going into my lessons due to fears of driving, but she made me develop a newfound confidence and love of being behind the wheel. Fantastic experience: I have been with driving school since 2019. I stopped getting lessons for personal reasons but 5 years later I got back into it and took lessons with RUTH. She is the BEST instructor you could ever have. She made me feel calm and acknowledged when I did well and wasn’t hard on me when I made a mistake. I learned how to drive safely and drive well because of her. If you can, book with RUTH! Other than that, the customer service is top tier. Fantastic experience: 10 out of 10 - would highly recommend! First let me say it has taken me YEARS to get my license- and I finally got it!! From the moment I called to schedule lessons, I had the pleasure of speaking with Camila. She took the time to give me a run down of all the packages offered, and helped me pick the package that best fit my needs. She was professional, patient and thorough. I asked a million and one questions and she never got frustrated or annoyed, I really appreciated that. Thank you Camila! I was assigned a lesson with RUTH once and was SOLD. Her method of teaching really helped me to learn and REMEMBER everything. I was always so nervous trying to drive and had so much trouble learning before but Ruth made it so easy. She breaks everything down clearly - step by step, and she even offers study tips and material to use in between lessons! She was patient when I made mistakes, and I made a lot. She is just all around a great instructor and I’m so thankful. I couldn’t do it without her! Thank you Ruth!!! Fantastic experience: I was very nervous getting behind the wheel of a car & this driving school was great in getting me over my fear , especially my instructor WILLIE P. - He was patient and helped to build confidence with each driving lesson to prepare me for the road test ahead . WILLIE 's positive personality and professionalism was just the right balance to make me feel reassured that I will be a good , safe driver . I would recommend WILLIE P. to anyone who is looking to learn how to drive !

Fantastic experience: Best driving school out there. I passed my road test with 100% thanks to my instructor Willie Pinelli. He taught me how to parallel park and make 3 point turns with ease. Make sure you ask for Willie if you want to pass your road test the first time around and feel confident behind the wheel.

Fantastic experience: From the very moment I first called the Bronx Driving School in sort of a panic because my Commercial drivers permit was about to expire all the way to finally passing my road test with the DMV it was a welcoming and great experience. Management and staff are courteous, professional and very respectful. I recommend this driving school to all for all driver training needs and other insurance related matters. Negative experience: I highly don't recommend this school all they care about is Money. They won't teach you 100% don't waste your time going to this school to learn cuz when u fail the road test they don't care as long as they getting paid . Don't waste your money with this school do your research first don't believe those reviews 100% ...... This is why they beasting for you can pay in full.

Positive experience: I was paired with Rafael and Ruth. They were like night and day. Rafael was there to do his job and that’s it. Ruth made me feel comfortable. First thing Ruth did was text me detailed explanation on parallel parking and went over it in the book as well. Ruth suggested I take my last lesson right before my road test and that is exactly what I did. I passed my road test on the first try ! 5 stars for Ruth! Now, the reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because of the ladies in the office. Not all of them of course, but there was one in particular who was so cold and rude on the phone that I hung up on her and called later on and spoke with someone else. Also, before I purchased my lessons I called and asked if they do lessons on Sunday and the girl said “ yeah sometimes” so I asked for more details and she told me that they had done classes the prior 3 weeks and that I wouldn’t have an issue. I was also told I could take my road test on Saturday if I paid a fee. Lastly they told me they pick you up from home to do your lesson. I live about a 10 minute walk from the school. I had 6 lessons and they never had Sunday available, they said they didn’t offer that day because they were closed. They never had a car pick up option, they told me I had to go to the school myself every time. And icing on the cake, they charged me for the Saturday road test and 3 days later call me to tell me that now DMV didn’t offer Saturday appointments… The 5 hour class was virtual, to be honest it was more like 3 hours long. We learned some things but it’s extremely boring. Not the instructors fault, he was funny and detailed. I would recommend the school, don’t have anything else to compare it to. If you don’t have any issue with your schedule and are free weekdays then you will not have an issue with this school. I recommend Ruth as an instructor.

Negative experience: I went here for my driving lessons and it wasn't as structured as good. I had the lady teaching me up until my 5 lessons and up until the 6th lesson they gave me a guy who I felt taught me differently in my opinion. Even though the lady did not teach me well either, yeah she was nice & seemed helpful but wasn't good for me. And I failed the road test.

Fantastic experience: First of all shout out to Camilla signed me up for lessons , called me left messages , and kept me up to date with my payments, scheduling for all my lessons. And helped me with anything I needed . Now for the goat my instructor R to the U to the T to the H. Ruth! She taught me so much , Straight to the point , honest , informative, and showed me support everyday . I was scared and nervous and I never thought I will ever get my license she made it happen . And I will always have a special place in my heart for her .

Fantastic experience: I passed my road test on the 19th and I had Oscar as my instructor and he did amazing he made me feel 100 perfect comfortable behind the wheel . I was afraid at first and he help me get over that really quick he is the best thank you Oscar!

Fantastic experience: I failed my road test when I was a senior in high school with a driving school in Queens. I never bother looking for another driving after since. Long story short, years later, I've decided to give it another shot with BDS. I was paired with Ruth and had my first lesson with her on July 15. She is strict but you definitely learn a lot from her. She taught me the tips and tricks to parallel park, setting up my mirrors, and 3 points turn. Not to mention, she sent me a text msg after the first lesson which outline the steps for parallel parking and 3 points turn, and difference between stop and stop all way. Ruth helped push me, which I am so grateful for, to take the road test as I tend to procrastinate a lot. In total, I took 5 lessons and passed the road test last Saturday. I am so fortunate to have Ruth as my instructor. She gave me the confidence that I needed. She is literally THE BEST and I owe it to her.

Fantastic experience: The last time I had taken the road test was in 2020, and I failed 2 times. I decided to try again and take lessons here, I was paired with Ruth. I already had experience behind the wheel but Ruth helped correct a lot of things that get you points on the road test. She told me I was ready and gave me the push to make my road test appointment. She is amazing!! Parallel parking never felt so easy, she is patient and a great teacher. I am happy to say I now have my class D license, couldn’t be happier.
