Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course: Reviews

4.2/5 (98 Reviews)

Fantastic experience: Well of course I'm going to give it five stars, I have multiple track records here. That being said, MidO continues to be a brilliant spectator AND competitor experience, with steadily improving facilities.

Fantastic experience: I had a fun time at vintage motorcycle days this year

Fantastic experience: Hands down, the best track in the Midwest!!

Sandy Silverman 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Excellent world class track, worth a trip

Smokey Barley 1 year ago

Negative experience: Big screens too far away to watch the action. Speakers didn’t work in the area where we were sitting. No discount for military like the rest of the tracks

Ricky Carlisle 1 year ago

Positive experience: Just attended superbike weekend. First time in 10 years, great to be back. I love this track and would love to come back. One complaint is I don't want to bring my kids to a place where they are exposed to drug use and I personally don't want to smell like a skunk while trying to watch races in the grandstands. Is there a policy against smoking? If so why isn't it enforced? The show should be enjoyable to all and if you can't enjoy the races without being high than that is a you problem. Not sure about going back due to drug use. Hopefully they can implement some kind of control to make it fair to all.

Wendal Coe 1 year ago

Negative experience: Don’t camp there if you can’t sleep with a lot of noise! They want generators off by 10:00 but let the kids race back and forth through the camp site on loud motorcycles! It’s almost midnight and still no consideration for the people trying to sleep!

Fantastic experience: Atmosphere is awesome. Great smelling race gas and watching, hearing the racers go around the track.

Negative experience: now I don,t have to imagen what it is like to be homeless. We were forced to be placed in the so called over-flow area for vintage days 2024, that apparently the park people did not see coming, no porta-pottys, or trash cans. The dust storm created by the (kids) on dirt bikes was unbearable. So after 24 yrs. attending Mid Ohio, we will not be back to a beautiful park that we remember.

Positive experience: I went here on AMA vintage days I liked it but I wish I would have brought my quad a lot of walking and so much to see would not recommend bringing your pets or nice clothes here

Joshua Pavkov 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: I like this track a lot. Bring a chair or pay for a grandstand ticket. Recommend a good pair of walking shoes and sunscreen. The Indy weekend is amazing

Jodi Thompson 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Thank You, Mid-Ohio I see the work you have been doing to make the racing experience better. Busier than I have seen it since the 80's!

Sohile Shaheen 1 year ago

Negative experience: No PA system, no score board, no TV monitor, no seats, or good place to watch the race from. Major upgrades and accommodation needed . Not exactly a great venue.

Mark White 1 year ago

Negative experience: Terrible first experience. Nowhere when we bought our tickets did it indicate that general admission means bring your own seat. The “sold out” grandstand was over 90% empty but we were not allowed to sit there. It took forever just to get on the property. No one ever asked us for a ticket. We walked in a walked/sat anywhere (except the grandstands) and never showed our tickets. Those that knew brought seats, tents, and blankets. And they probably knew not to spend $75 per ticket like we did. NOT RECOMMENDED We left early. Tired of baking in the sun, on our feet, with nowhere to sit.

Brenda Davis 1 year ago

Negative experience: This is the worst venue i have ever tried to get into. It has taken an hour to go 2 miles. That is so ridiculous.

Fantastic experience: Excellent track!

Gene Johnston 1 year ago

Negative experience: Lotta dead time during Honda Indy weekend. Facility is really deteriorating. Lots of open infield and was told could be purchased at gate. Arrived and told wasn't available. Was a good run but apparently nearing it's end.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to Mid-Ohio for 30+ years. My son was 9 when I first brought him to watch the the races. We are here this weekend with my grandson who is 5 now. The camping area is excellent for both RVs and tents. Plently of clean porta-poddies are available and everything here is kept clean and in good working order. Concession stand are availabe for food and souvenirs. I am also a High Performance Dri ing Instructor for the Porche Club. The technical track layout and elevation changes make Mid-Ohio a driver favorite. I also took the Skip Barber 3 Day Racing School here, an unforgettable experience. If you have ever wanted to safely experience driving at speed on a race track, be sure to check it out.

Fantastic experience: The imsa events are the best for driver and pit interaction and accessibility, I love being able to check out the cars at off times during the weekend. ️

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this track! Always fun whether watching or driving!!!

Fantastic experience: I had the distinct pleasure recently of meeting the Mid-Ohio Track Manager, Sonny Gee, and he is a gem. Not only did Sonny graciously show me around the facility of which he is rightfully proud but he helped me out of a jam. My van broke down just as I had arrived at the track and Sonny gave me the name and phone number of a nearby repair shop and said I could use his name as a reference. As I went into the track with Sonny I watched my van being towed away on a flatbed, not the entrance I'd hoped for. After a somewhat anxious day at the track I was able to retrieve my van with five minutes to spare before the shop closed. Sonny Gee, the perfect gentleman, not only showed me the facility but he saved my weekend. Thanks Sonny! Best, Jim Kearney

Fantastic experience: My daughter and I have gone to the indy car race the last 2 years and have a had a wonderful time on both occassions. Mid Ohio Sports car course offers a great opportunity for everyone to get close to the action. The course has many great vantage points to set up your chairs and tent pull out your cooler kick back and watch the races. With the addition of paddock and pit passes you can get down close to the cars and meet your favorite driver. If you have not been I highly recomend it. I will add that they recently replaced the grandstand seating.

Fantastic experience: Excellent race track with unique experiences and a great rolling hills terrain. Could use upgrades to amenities and investments in infrastructure, but sill work the visit for a racing school, IndyCar race, or any other unique function that the track offers.

Brad Panike 2 years ago

Positive experience: Absolutely a beautiful facility that gives you the green viewing areas to set-up your lawn chair and your cooler to watch the event. Large camping area and golf cart rentals make it easy to get around. Only four stars because they are severely understaffed. Poor traffic control, and never saw any security at all.

Fantastic experience: I went for a Lexus performance driving event. Everything about our day was perfect. We did autocross. The skid pad and a lot of laps around the big track. Had a wonderful day! Everything was perfect! Super friendly, super professional! Super clean and just Wow! Made a lot of smiles and happiness in everyone that attended! Never have I witnessed so many huge smiles and happy people!

Fantastic experience: Came from Colorad to my first time driving at Mid Ohio. It was a BLAST!! The track staff was so kind . The NASA staff was amazing , helping me with new numbers for my car ,to amazingly great photos of my car. And I have say the chow was delicious. This track is stupid fun! Go to the next event at Mid Ohio, you will not be disappointed!! Well done Mid Ohio!❤️❤️

Fantastic experience: Daughter took the teen defensive driving course. Instructors are very knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. They were able to communicate the info to the students very well. They had collision avoidance drills, skid drills and braking drills. My daughter had a great time and as a new driver learned some invaluable skills she will be able to use for the rest of her driving life. I will be taking my son there when he drives and highly recommend it to anyone new or not to driving.

Fantastic experience: The races are great but could use some speakers around motocross track. I reccomend bringing your own food and drinks. Burger $5 fries cooked in old grease $5 a bottle of pop $7.50.

Fantastic experience: Went to vintage days it was awesome, every motorcycle you could think of...

Fantastic experience: The had the American Motorcyclist Association Vintage Motorcycle Days there this weekend. I was looking forward to this for months, and of course both my bikes are out of commission. So I drove down and I was so glad I did. I had a wonderful time watching the bikes race and talking to people in the swap meet area. I was a great day. I SO needed this!

Fantastic experience: Most of these ya-hoos giving this track 1-3 stars are most likely fair weather fans, or spoiled by less grassroots racetracks that are in it for money alone. I’ve been coming to Mid-Ohio for 30 years as a fan and as part of the racing community. This is a great family track that hasn’t been bogged down by a bunch of HOA style, cater to the entitled, kind of rules. Bring your kids, bring your cooler, watch from any location around the track, camp out for the weekend and wake up to the best alarm clock in the world with the sound of cars on the track.

Robert Hobbs 3 years ago

Positive experience: Exciting Road Course in Mid-Ohio, I've been here mostly for NASCAR weekends, though, it's usually supported by other series too throughout the weekends. Plentiful room to put out your chairs and sit, never have felt like I couldn't find a fantastic view, and ample opportunity to sit on great curves that provide a ton of entertainment. Grandstands, throughout the track for a bit more of a fee, not necessary, but always available and never super crowded for those that simply want to get to a quick and less crowded seats. I'd recommend, Grand Stands 2, as it's situated on the backstretch with the best curves. Plenty of portable pots and one decent real restroom, never any issues trying to get in and out of restrooms like many races, and sporting events. Always available. Refreshments, and merchandise area could be updated and left a little bit to be desired. There's much downtime between events, and the oppurtunity to shop more, or more places to get different types of food and snacks, would certainly help pass the time and provide for more entertainment between practices, qualifying, and races. Parking is ample, and plentiful, easy to get in and out. Prices for weekends are extremely agreeable, as well as the season passes, and camping. Plenty of camping surrounding the track, golf cart rentals to get back between sights and track in general. Overall Mid-Ohio is an awesome gem in Central Ohio countryside, that provides great aggressive road racing, great prices, and easy accessible facilities and refreshments, with all that being said, there is oppurtunity to be had with mid event entertainment, merchandise, and concession area's.

Ray Hill 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: I love it at Mid-Ohio very entertaining ro watch all types of racing. The food was about $14 for a double cheeseburger with frys and a drink combo out of the stand in the pits / Paddock area. And food was pretty good portions where great sizes also. The course also provided many different viewing locations along the trackside.

Paul DeSario 3 years ago

Positive experience: Went to Indy 2000 and had a great time. Plenty of bathrooms, food, we Got their early to stake out general admission seating and saw some fun racing. Well done Mid Ohio.

Lake Clark 3 years ago

Negative experience: Parking is an absolute mess and trying to leave is a nightmare. Not enough people directing traffic. Event was decent but between the drive here from Columbus and all the waiting in the parking area I would have rather been home for the event and watched on tv

John Grohol 3 years ago

Negative experience: While the track itself is very good and interesting, the facilities have given up the ghost years ago. It’s clear the owners do t care about spectators. Few facilities, and even fewer staff. It’s basically a free-for-all at every race, with people flaunting the course’s rules (because there’s nobody enforcing anything). Basically, nobody cares here. Park anywhere you want, block anyone you want in. Drive carts anywhere. Put up your pop-up in areas not allowed. It’s fine, nobody will bother you. Troughs for mens bathrooms went out in the 1970s. I probably wouldn’t come back here for a race unless they got new owners and a significant infusion of cash. Everything feels and looks run-down because it is.

Brenda Badhorn 3 years ago

Negative experience: Tge track is good but getting in the facility to park is another story. We got her 1 hour befor the race and have been mostly parked waiting to get in to park. Most likely we won't get to see the start of the race!

Chris Ditmars 3 years ago

Positive experience: I've been coming here for years. It's a great place for family and friends. I just wish they would update this place a little more. Maybe clean the bird poop up a little better

Tom Whiston 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: One of the best racecourse tracks and facilities in America right here in Morrow County!

Tina Boykin 3 years ago

Positive experience: We are season tickets holders but have to say not sure we will renew. The racing is great but the facilities, well, not so much. Mid-Ohio should be ashamed of themselves. The grounds are in desperate need of a manicure. The trash was more than over flowing due to lack of trash cans. Not nearly enough food trucks. Last but not least, not nearly enough Porto potties. I hope they clean the place up before Indy weekend in July. Very disappointed Mid Ohio, very disappointed

Fantastic experience: I go to the Mid-Ohio race course for the AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days swap meet every year (except during covid) for a G.T. of 22 years...!!! This year was exceptional, as the weather was really good. I met a whole bunch of people I had been talking with before, so now I know them personally. This is really great when you can put a name to a real face...!!!

Ted Janusz 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: Hadn't been to the track in over 20 years, when I took my son. This weekend I went with my son-in-law and my grandson. We had a blast! After Covid, we were so anxious to get out of the house and be with other ... people! The people at the track were so friendly. (At one point I said, perhaps a little too loudly, that I didn't understand one particular class of race. One of the fans overheard me and she came over to where we were sitting under a tree gave me a detailed explanation of what was going on. So nice of her!) Unlike at, say, Indianapolis, you don't have to stay crammed in one spot on a bench. It was such a nice day to just walk around the track and enjoy not only the races (my grandson especially enjoyed the truck ramp jumps!) but the the people. So easy to hear the P.A. system throughout the grounds, and it was fun to watch the race on the large monitors mounted throughout the track. The parking was free, and when we left, there was no traffic. Easy in. Easy out. We'll definitely be back!

Benton Tackitt 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: We have been here twice for the Indycar race, it is always a great time. The staff is always friendly and the facilities are nice. We camp in an rv, and it always a party, and always family friendly. The three day general admission camping package has a very reasonable price. We plan on returning for many years to come.

Rose Weaver 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: This was a very enjoyable race track to visit! I got grandstand tickets but once I got there and saw we would have been facing towards the sun, I decided to just sit in the grass on the opposite side of the track. Definitely not the best view ever but there is a screen to watch the race from as well. I loved that I was able to bring my own cooler and drinks. Also took lawn chairs, a picnic blanket, and an umbrella. The walk to the track from the parking area was kind of far but that was expected. Overall a fun and relaxing place, hope to visit again soon!

Fantastic experience: Great track and great racing. I've been coming here since I was little.

Fantastic experience: What an awesome way to spend July 4th wknd! Wow this place makes you feel like a kid. And camping? Perfect for RV's or whatever you got! Plus you can take stuff in, want to tailgate and grill? Yes! Want to take a cooler with drinks and snacks? Yes you can do that too! Take some chairs and something to give some shade, enjoy enjoy enjoy!!

Zadok Motor Freight 4 years ago

Positive experience: Had a fantastic time camping for the vintage car races! Had a nice spot near the trees for shade and the port o potties were generally clean. Also, the food at their dedicated concession stand was pretty good and fairly priced. We'll hopefully be back again!!

Ryan Carman 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: Love Mid Ohio, great place to spend the day at the races. And if you like camping out, you’ll have a blast. You can rent a spot, park your camper/bus and set it up like a campground, bring your grill as well!! Good times!!

Mark Buckley 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: One of my favorite places to go to during the late spring/summer. I typically go to IMSA and the Vintage Grand Prix, but have been to the Indy car race as well. The track is great and the staff and fans are very friendly. A great family friendly place to go to. You can leave your cooler and chairs and walk around the entire track and everything will they way you left it when you return!

Andrew Rininger 4 years ago

Positive experience: Attended the 2021 IMSA race. Overall I've been to Mid-Ohio dozens of times for numerous SCCA and IMSA events. They did a good job directing traffic after the race. Food was incredibly expensive, but to be expected for this type of an event. Lots of gravel roads and the concessions need updated. Minor things around including grand stands need a refresh. Overall the race was good, but it was much better than realized. On spectator hill the have a mini jumbo tron. Yes I just said mini jumbo tron. It is just big enough to see the live broadcast and what is going on. The biggest issue is there are zero clear audible speakers. The mini jumbo tron would be plenty big if we could hear the commentators explains the situation as it happens. Turns out, not only was a close finish due to traffic. But several cars were extremely close on fuel adding to the excitement. All of this unknown to the spectators. It detracted from the overall experience, Mid-Ohio has excellent facilities (especially in the pits) it's a track that deserves IMSA, Indycar, and NASCAR. Yet you can't install real speakers for fans to understand the whole situation of the race. I guarantee half the spectators would not have left with 15min left knowing that the leaders were so close on fuel with an excellent chance for a dramatic ending which we received. Note this 3 star rating is for specifically this event. SCCA events this is not an issue due to low volume spectators. Otherwise it would be a 4 star rating.

Gary Wenstrup 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: I've been going to "always great"MIDOHIO sports car course for more than 30 years. Professional racing to club racing. With friends and family. My son was 5 years old for his first Indy race. We bought his son for his first IMSA race.

Yale Evans 4 years ago

Positive experience: Mid-Ohio is a great race track, but the grounds need improvement. Gravel roads should be paved. Concession stands should be upgraded. The new showers are great. Follow Road America's lead, they can show you how it should be done!

Chris Rod 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: Great track with elevation changes that make viewing fun. Has a fun vintage feel. Much like Road America 6 years ago. Downside to that is souvenir store and bathroom facilities are dated and cramped. Attempts were made to help prevent covid-19 spread. Designated spots in the grass for setting up chairs was a great idea. Hand sanitizer was gone. Great track and staff and would visit again.

Robert Weeks 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: We've been going to races since the 1980s and the Lumberman's series. Mid -Ohio is such a beautiful track. I remember taking a first timer there and she noted "this is like a park with a race circling it . . . a perfect place for a picnic" This weekend was peculiar due to COVID protocols, yet enjoyable and everyone was being safe and courteous! We'll never quit racing!

Sean Quinn 5 years ago

Fantastic experience: I've been going to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for over 30 years now and I can say that I've never had a bad time here. The track itself is great, one of the most challenging in the US to drive from what they say. As far as the spectating goes, this place is great as there are many excellent viewing areas around the track to watch from. You can walk the infield or perimeter and watch from the viewing areas or the grandstands. It's not an F1 quality facility, but there's plenty of amenities that will make any race fan comfortable. The staff has always been friendly and there are plenty vending areas with food trucks and merchandise trucks to keep you full with food, drink & memorabilia, swag. There's plenty of areas to park your RV, trailer, or camp for the race weekend. The course also has a school if you want to learn to race, do some lapping, or get your teen some more defensive driving instructions. I'll be back as much as I can! Apsolutely love it here!

Burton Zender 5 years ago

Fantastic experience: I was lucky enough to be one of the 6000 in attendance for the first major sporting event in Ohio since the covid-19 pandemic. Thank you to the hard work from govener DeWine, the good people at Marrow county health/Sheriff's departments, NTT Indy car, and MOST OF ALL, all the good people at MID OHIO!!! Getting the chance to go back to the track felt like arriving home, after a long hard trip. The track workers and staff were like seeing old friends, it was awesome!!!

Rick Siffleet 5 years ago

Positive experience: Spent a few days at Mid-Ohio supporting US-F4 championship. Nice circuit but as this was a fairly small event (it clashed with a major Sports Car race at Watkins Glen) there were very few spectators and therefore, facilities. The circuit has some excellent viewing points and if you hire a golf cart, the access is even better. Fast and flowing but the need to get into a rhythm is important in some of the more technical parts. I found it similar to the GP circuit at Brands, for those who need a reference...! It is kind of 'remote' but there are some eateries close by and Mansfield is just 'up the road'.

John Noss II 6 years ago

Fantastic experience: Excellent course, great views around the track. Great places to watch include the esses, carousel, and keyhole. Camping is also a great way to spend the weekend. I hope they keep the Xfinity race here for years to come!

Tim Clymer 6 years ago

Fantastic experience: I've been going to Mid-Ohio for 25 years - it's a great spot to catch some racing action at a reasonable price. Yeah, it's a little rough around the edges, it's in a rural location, you're using port-o-pots, the camping crowd can be rowdy for some events, there's usually some combination of excessive heat and thunderstorms, plan on walking a lot, you're not gonna find A/C, etc etc., BUT... it's a great value! Tickets are in the $50-$75 range for the major events, a camping spot is $50, you bring your own coolers stocked with whatever you need to get through the weekend, and it's genuinely a great time. Sometimes they even allow fans to walk the track after the day's activities have ended. I'm glad my dad opened our eyes to this place when we were kids, and I'm glad the track continues to attract top-tier racing series so I can continue to go!

Terry Garvin 6 years ago

Fantastic experience: This is one of the most unique racetracks ever! You can picnic in the infield under huge pine groves and experience some great racing. I never miss the NASCAR race and have seen many other forms of racing here over the years. Great facility! One of the best places to see any type of racing from vintage motorcycles to fire breathing V-8'S!!!

Jarrett Hill 6 years ago

Fantastic experience: I have been going here for 20 some years. Excellent for spectators wanting to watch racing on a road course. This place also has a nice camp ground. All the events I have attended we're worth the trip from Tennessee. The Vintage Grand Prix is really worth going to. Hopefully for the next Rally Cross event they have more areas to view the race. The hill on top of the key hole was the only place to view the race other than a grandstand that cost $20 extra to sit at and get covered in dust in the process. With the higher ticket prices you would think there would be less nickel and diming going on.

Aidan Burns 6 years ago

Fantastic experience: Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is a fantastic auto racing course for spectators. There are plenty of spots around the circuit for people to watch the racing from. Drivers from all series praise the track for its technicality and the close racing that ensues. The facilities are aging and there are plenty of areas for improvement. However it's clear that the management does what it can with the money they have as there are consistently minor improvements made every year. I have enjoyed every single visit to this track since I was a kid no matter what kind of craziness the weather brings.

Miles Crabbe 6 years ago

Fantastic experience: Visited again in June 2019. They have built a new, excellent shower facility with more than enough room to support a race weekend. Now easily in the top 5 race tracks to visit in the USA. *Old Review* The track is great, the facilities are not. The showers especially leave something to be desired. Like privacy, cleanliness, or warm water. *

Hi Miles, we have recently carried out a complete renovation on our showers and bathrooms

Robert Pugh 7 years ago

Negative experience: Nice track and good facilities. However, if you plan on staying in the unreserved RV lot, it"s impossible to get decent sleep due to the rowdy and drunk crowd. First, it's not a RV Lot, it's a campground with mostly tent campers. Second, the 10 p.m. quiet time is not enforced and the party was going strong until 2 a.m. Lastly, there's no enforcement of the rules...reckless ATVs, fireworks, loud motorcycles., etc., to the point it's dangerous. I will never return - I'll be watching from home.

Zuum 7 years ago

Fantastic experience: Great road course, great views, arguably one of the most challenging in the country. I enjoy the Indy race and sports car race.

The Gas Man 7 years ago

Fantastic experience: I have visited the road racing course at Mid-Ohio several times and competed there if you live in the Midwest and enjoy road racing it is a must do to add to your list. Prices for tickets vary According to which sanctioned body is racing there so the best thing to do is contact them directly for current pricing information. The facility is kept Immaculate parking is easy to access and there is plenty of it the road system does require little patience getting to and leaving the track but it is all part of the pleasure of being there. There is also driver instruction there which makes it a great place to start your driving career or to improve your skills.

GARRY P 7 years ago

Fantastic experience: I attended some motorcycle races here at the track and was very pleased with the experience. The open layout lets you move around for photographic opportunities at varies sections and curves of the track. Plenty of grassy areas to relax and enjoy the racing. There were some concessions and rest rooms, but they could have used more of both and more signs directing you to the v arious features and facilities. Overall a great experience and a good value for the price I paid.

JD 22 8 years ago

Fantastic experience: Great place will recommend any time to any one. Super fun, affordable, safe, incredible views, awesome atmosphere.

Jim Kennedy 8 years ago

Fantastic experience: Just did my first Track Day there. I couldn't be more pleased with how it went. Entire staff was 100 percent dedicated to making sure we had a great time. And they repeatedly asked us if everything was good, and it was. Special shout out to our coach Chris. He had a great way of explaining what we were working on each session without overwhelming us with ideas. Excellent rider coach.

Tony Galante 8 years ago

Positive experience: Fun place to watch a race with the family. Cant see the entire track but not unique to any other road course. Concessions were good and paddock is a nice sneak peak on seeing the cars up close.

Stephanie Fairley 8 years ago

Negative experience: The track is hard enough to see at a road course without people putting their canopy's up in front where they aren't supposed to and security doesn't do anything about it. I won't waste my money again.

Dennis Braun 8 years ago

Negative experience: Very Disappointing - Sound system is terrible, Mash 4077 sounds better than the track. Need more TV screens around the track so fans can follow the race. Fun Zone was a joke. It will take major improvements for me to ever return. I travel to multiple Indy car tracks and this is by far the worst for spectators...This track was packed and made lots of money no reason to not upgrade for a better racing experience other than ownership greed...

Paul O 8 years ago

Fantastic experience: Mid-Ohio is one of the best road courses in North America. Lots of great observation mounds. The Keyhole, the esses above turn 5 are great spots to watch the action. Take comfortable walking shoes. You will do a lot walking out there. We did 10 miles over the course of the Honda Indy 200 weekend. Get a paddock pass too. Mid-Ohio has garages with a second level observation deck or gallery view so you can watch crews work on the cars. Only thing that could be improved on out there are new grandstands on the back stretch and track security and local law enforcement needs to do a better job of cracking down on all the dumb drunk adults and kids under 16 driving stupid all over the place in golf carts. Other than that, great place to go watch top level professional racing.

Christina Cope 8 years ago

Fantastic experience: Had never been here before and loved course layout. Had been a long time since I've attended INDY car race, really enjoyed. Plenty of Staff to direct people where you need to go and at concessions. Screen and tower set up excellent. Lots of walking unless on a golf cart. Campground area looked nice from where I was at. A lot of friendly people

David Martin 8 years ago

Fantastic experience: Great place for track days. The school is top notch. We had a great coach. Highly recommended.

Bryce 8 years ago

Positive experience: I've raced here a few times and gone as a spectator to several. Either way it's a great time. Lots of good watching spots around the track and an interesting track to drive. Concessions are over priced, but no more than any other sport event.

Josh Anzicek 8 years ago

Fantastic experience: I have been to several (7+) events at this track, including motorcycle and car racing. I love the vintage days events with a huge swap meet and road, trials, and dirt racing all happening simultaneous to camping, swap meet, and 20,000 fans driving around.... what a rush.

Joe Vance 8 years ago

Fantastic experience: The Acura high performance class is fun and informative. There were plenty of experienced instructors willing to give feedback and critique.

Joe Barnett 8 years ago

Fantastic experience: I come to Mid-Ohio once a year for their Vintage Motorcycle Days. The course is awesome, the camp ground is well kept. This year they've added more beer options as well as new food. I would highly recommend the course to anyone who is interested in motorsports.

Fantastic experience: This is a great road course with plenty of room for the fans. My favorite track sections to watch are the keyhole, the esses, and thunder valley. If you have the time and money, you should take one of their driving/racing classes. They are amazing!

Fantastic experience: There are many places you can park and watch the race from if you're in the infield. Everyone at the track is hospitable and the atmosphere is awesome. Because the track is wide open there is no need for any hearing protection.

Negative experience: The portable bathrooms were beyond disgusting (overflowing) at the Honda 200 also very few of them for thousands of people. They advertise shuttle service to parking, which is in a field. We saw no evidence of shuttle service. The facilities at this track are seriously lacking.

Fantastic experience: I love watching races here and doing track days. Beautiful road course for spectators and an absolute blast to drive on. One of my favorite Ohio summer destinations and the kids enjoy the vintage races and the parade lap. Only wish they had more events!!

Fantastic experience: Went to the Tough Mudder held here over the weekend. The venue was good. TM has a way of making any location work. Overall the grounds were lovely and it was pretty cool running around by, through, and on the track. Parking area was appreciated as it was not far to the location.

Fantastic experience: Great track and lots of space to really see the racing! The ONLY complaint that I have is signage and it needs to be improved considerably. (Other people were saying the same.) Out-of-town people should come to this track. The mid-Ohio countryside is gorgeous and there is lots to see and do before the race. We had no idea Ohio looked this nice! We came from Toronto and truly enjoyed it.

Fantastic experience: what a very cool place to watch an action filled high speed race as cars zip around the rolling hills and corners of this unique wooded track. I've seen a few races and even drove my old Triumph on the track once here. Nice place to meet drivers too if you are into that.

Fantastic experience: What can you say? If you love twisty, technical race tracks (as a driver) -- you'll love this track. It rewards smooth driving (shifting, weight transfer, acceleration/deceleration). Rain can be a spoiler depending on time of year -- but like Watkins Glen, if the weather is good the racing is great. Accommodation near the track are very good compared to other great road courses (Road Atlanta, Road America, Watkins Glen). The drive up from Texas is a beating, but it's worth it once we arrive.

Positive experience: Out of the many tracks I've been to I have to say I've probably been to Mid-Ohio the most. Every time I go, it's like going home - if home was in the middle of nowhere Ohio. The facilities are out of date and there isn't much to do in the surrounding local area but the track itself it iconic and definitely exciting. Best spot is the yellow canopy across from China Beach, especially during a race in the rain!

Positive experience: The track is a great place to experience an IndyCar race. The track is in a remote location so it has a great feel to it. Set up a chair on the hill just after the bridge over pit lane and enjoy the race. The only negative is that traffic flow out of the venue after the race is VERY slow. Plan something fun to do for at least an hour after the race before you sit in your car moving a few hundred feet that entire time.

Fantastic experience: Imagine what it would be like if you were at a private country club and a sports car race broke out? That is what the folks at Mid Ohio have been able to create. Beautiful green rolling pastures among vast stands of trees with quaint garages for the race teams, ample paddock and plenty of facilities to meet any immediate need all around this sprawling facility. I've been to more than three dozen tracks around the World, and this is my favorite. Monaco was fun & exclusive, but Mid Ohio is like being home with friends. It doesn't get any better.

Positive experience: My father and I have been coming here for years, great experience every time. There are multiple locations with interesting sight lines, plenty of portapotties, and lots of fan access, even at IndyCar races. The major viewing locations and crossroads consistently have food and drink options as well, and while it rarely raises about your typical track fare, the value is good.
