Negative experience: I had a road test and a lesson with this old white dude and he was extremely disrespectful like I hold the door for him and he yelled at me to go first. also, when I made a mistake, he doesn't tell me what to do, just straight up raging why I did that.

Negative experience: The instructor Eric was so unprofessional. Kept yelling and put me into a panic attack. Was being extremely rude and kept telling me to turn last minute. He need to be fire. Didn’t have a problem with my first instructor the first time. He was amazing and patient towards me but the second lesson it was terrible bc of him.

Buen día, Es desalentador llamarnos ladrones cuando reconoció que llegó más de 5 minutos tarde y leyó nuestras políticas, aceptando que si llegaba tarde no podríamos realizar su examen práctico y que se le cobraría la tarifa de reprogramación. Incluso habló con nuestro gerente de oficina administrativa, quien le explicó que nos basamos en horarios fuera de horario y que si hiciéramos su prueba, nos retrasaríamos para nuestra próxima prueba práctica. Se implementan políticas y procedimientos para mantener una empresa en funcionamiento y menospreciarla hasta el punto de dejar una reseña de una estrella por algo que entendiste de antemano que es decepcionante. Nos esforzamos por brindar un servicio justo y eficiente a todos nuestros clientes, y nuestras políticas están diseñadas para garantizar que todos reciban la atención que merecen. Good morning, It's disheartening to call us thieves when you acknowledged that you were more than 5 minutes late and read our policies agreeing that if you were late we would not be able to do your road test and that you would be charged the rescheduling fee. You even talked with our Back Office manager who explained that we do go based of off schedules and if we did your test, it would put us behind for our next road test. Policies and prodedures are put into place to keep a business functioning and belitting a company to the extent of leaving a one star review for something you understood beforehand is disappointing. We strive to provide a fair and efficient service for all our clients, and our policies are designed to ensure that everyone receives the attention they deserve. Positive experience: Read all for resolution. This had been a bad experience for us. I’ll give 2 stars because the four actual driving lessons were valuable. Here are my cons: 1) when I called about signing up for the 14 driving/observation hours I was told that there was plenty of availability for driving. I had about a month to get them in before his appointment. 2) you can only schedule two sessions at a time. Once you use one, you can book another. Our experience was that we had to book at least a week and a half out to get a driving slot. Obviously this would take much longer than the time we had. 3) I changed his DPS appointment out another two weeks, making it necessary to drive 2 hours away from town to even get an appointment. All because of the delay from Drive Smart. 4) I’ve paid $450 for 4 driving lessons. It should have been 14 lessons. 5) I called to get documentation of the lessons we could do for his DPS appointment tomorrow, and they won’t release them. It’s their policy not to release documentation until all 14 lessons are complete. Again, this goes against everything I was told at the beginning. I had not planned on using the observation hours (we did parent-led and just wanted the extra outside driving instruction for extra practice) at all. This leads me to assume they wouldn’t have documented his 7 driving hours at all. I’m extremely frustrated and won’t use them again. Edited to respond that the employee below has reached out to make it right. The employee who set us up did not understand what I needed and set us up incorrectly. I will follow up for the appropriate refund. Edited to add that Drive Smart made it right financially today. It was handled professionally and warmly. We agree that the initial set up was the start of the confusion between what I expected and what we experienced. I would still advise to allow plenty of time to get your lessons in.
Good afternoon Lindsay, I think there is a bit of confusion. We have Andrew down as a transfer student which would mean that he would have to finish those lessons in order to get the certificate which is a state requirement not just our policy but if this was just for practices and not as a transfer student then there wouldn't be a certificate of completion that we would be able to provide but we could sign his log for 3 hours. As far as availability, we did have availability for the summer and did our best to keep staff available for the students. However, we do have multiple cancellations on file for him as well so our hands do become tied at that point. If you please could give me a call, I would love to get this cleared up. Fantastic experience: I had an excellent experience at drive smart. I took my road test on 07/02/24 and was impressed by the efficiency and professionalism of the staff. I arrived early and was able to start my test ahead of schedule. The instructor was clear, courteous, and made me feel at ease. He checked my car thoroughly before the test and helped reduce my stress with a few laughs. If you're planning to use your own car, be sure to bring your insurance documents. The center also offers free cars for the test if needed. I highly recommend Drive Smart to anyone looking for a smooth and stress-free road test experience!

Good morning Lins, You signed a contract in 2021 stating that you would complete the required hours within a year as per state law. You initialed right were it said that you would be completed in one year. It is now three years later, 2024, and you are requesting services on a contract that expired in June of 2022. We understand that things happen but continued communication must be provided. We are sorry you feel like we are the worst driving school in the area. However, be advised that any driving school in the area will have a 180 day contract validity while we offer a 1 year. We wish you the best and hope you find a school that better fits your needs. Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic time at Drive Smart Driving School. Although I had my permit for a while, I always felt anxious during practice sessions. So, I made the decision to enroll in a three-hour behind-the-wheel course at Drive Smart. Mr. Alejandro, my instructor, was amazing and incredibly patient. Following my final lesson, I took my road test on the same day with Mr. Vu as my examiner. Initially, I was nervous about the tight timeline, but Mr. Vu's excellent communication and demeanor helped me relax. I passed the test! I am greatly grateful to this exceptional driving school.

Negative experience: A couple years ago I took driving lessons here and the experience was seamless. I decided to refer my sister here and the experience has been terrible. I don’t want to say the business as a whole is bad but there’s definitely one person working front desk who I’ve been dealing with that’s tainting this small business. She has been extremely unprofessional and demeaning not only to me but also my mom and sister. It’s been the same person both times in June and October. I asked to speak with someone else and she said she’s the boss. I understand that policies exist for a reason, but I believe that the way information and assistance are delivered is equally important. Screaming and speaking in a disrespectful manner should never be the response when addressing customers' concerns. I hope someone else can assist me with my concern because it has been a fustrating experience. I do not want to call in anymore because i do not want to deal with that individual.
Good Morning Rosa Yuridia My name is Jose and I am the owner and directly manage the Carrollton Location. I am glad to know that your experience a few years back was good but in the same way, I feel bad that your sister's was not. We strive to keep communications clear and concise and that is why we insist that conversations with customers be recorded and keep records of the text and emails so that we may clarify any misunderstanding with customers. In this case we have been in conversations and text with your sister and mother but never with you. You sister purchase lessons back in April 14th, 2023. On June 3rd, two days before her appointment, she called and canceled because she didn't have a B-restricted license. The person she spoke with issued a 90 days extension to the contract which would have placed the new expiration date to September 1st 2023. On October 30th, more than 30 days after the extension expired, your mom called to schedule drive times. The coordinator advised that the contract was expired but she could talk with a manager to see if they could issue another extension. At that time, she opted to accuse the company of trying to keep her money and the coordinator of being arrogant and ignorant. I refer to your review where you state that "policies are there for a reason." The 90 days for adults have been our policy since our humble beginning to keep student flow moving and one-time extensions are granted as needed. Your sister didn't take advantage of the one granted in June. I invite you to visit our school where we can discuss this a little more in detail. At Drive Smart Driving School customer satisfaction is our primary goal and we like to offer customers a smooth respectful experience but ask for the same respect in return. Positive experience: Good teen course and driving instructors. Couldn’t take my road test there because I emailed the school a few days before to reschedule the test, but they gave me the wrong phone number to text and got put in as a no show and I lost my promo code because of their mistake.

Negative experience: My Wife booked an appointment for Driving Lesson. No confirmation email and SMS. When called they rarely pick the call. Poor appointment management. It was good 4 years before when i learned from them.

Negative experience: This Driving school is not worth it , The only reviews the owner gets are from friends , There are no lessons available at all , Go to the website and it asks for payment first and once you do , there are no classes available. Do not take my word for it , beneath all the fluff , go through the one star reviews below , 70 to 80 percent say that they cant schedule the classes , You can call them and ask for a schedule , I guarantee that they will say look at the calendar , again dont take my word for it
Good evening Pondyking99 If once a person purchase they find there is no availability they can easily get a refund from us. As to you unfounded accusations of my friends write my reviews as much as I would love to have that many friends I can assure you that’s not the case. If the reason why you call them our friends it’s simply because they speak their native language let me inform that we provide classes for a large number of Spanish speakers twice and sometimes three times a week and they leave the school pleased with the training they received. and although they may not agree with you that they are my friends I attempt to be friendly with everyone. Again if once you purchase you find there are no availability you are welcome to get a FULL refund. Unfortunately we don’t show anyone with your name on file therefore I can’t process the refund until we know who to refund. I want to sincerely thank you for taking your valuable time to write this review.
Negative experience: There is no availability for drive lessons and they don't schedule in advance. They don't pick up the phone at any time. Kids may get their permits but then they are left with no lessons or the inclination to help. I finally walked in and asked if we could book further out and was told there was no way, they said look up by last week of a month to schedule the next month's classes.
Good afternoon Sanjay we understand your frustration on Drive lesson. most of our students get their driving lesson done within their allowable time. We even allow students more time than most schools to get completed . Unfortunately when students and parents wait until their contract it’s about to expire and at the end of summer try to get all their driving completed quickly they will find availability to be limited. You were notified to give us until the end of the week so that instructors may complete and submit their updated calendar and not next month for more availability. We regret that you have opted to misinterpret our conversation but if you call us back there are other alternatives you may use to complete your student in a hurry.

Negative experience: Took the online driver education course through Drive Smart and really enjoyed the instructor - friendly and knowledgeable. However, I just went in for the road skills test and had a horrible experience. The examiner was an older white man (I didn't catch his name) who was very rude and abrasive throughout the entire process. I also had a hard time understanding some of his instructions during the test and when asking him to repeat instructions, he would respond in a very condescending way. Luckily, I passed my test but I would recommend to others to bite the bullet and just wait for a road skills test appointment at DPS.

Fantastic experience: El proceso con la escuela de manejo es muy sencillo. Amplia disponibilidad de horarios y para la prueba escrita puedes hacerlo desde tu casa y tomar las lecciones en tu propia computadora en el horario que mejor te convenga. Es muy fácil agendar las citas.

Positive experience: Realmente es agradable y puntual, voy agregar mas, estoy realmente complacido y agradecido, ayer domingo realizamos la prueba de manejo y ya hoy en el dps solicite mi licencia definitiva, a travez de la escuela nos ayudo mucho para gestionar todo en dos semanas, la escuela es una gran ayuda pero cada quien debe poner de su parte y dispocision de tiempo para que el resultado sea efectivo, a todos los que desean hacer su licencia de conducir por primera vez en texas les recomiendo Driver Smart.

Negative experience: Realmente nunca he dejado una reseña negativa a nadie, sin embargo, no puedo pasar por alto la pésima atención que recibí en eta autoescuela. Fui ayer y hoy decidida a gestionar mi licencia con ellos. Ayer un Sr, que estaba atendiendo dentro me dijo de manera agresiva y muy descortés: NO SPEAK SPANISH!, le pregunté con mi inglés básico si había alguna otra persona que hablara español y no me respondió, al ver la descortesía salió un joven solo para decirme que las personas que dan información se habían ido temprano. Volví hoy y me atendió un asiático aún más descortés: NO SPEAK SPANISH!, por tanto no iré más, fue suficiente
Lamentamos su mala experiencia con nosotros en el día de ayer y hoy. Una semana cómo está para algunos de descendencia hispana es casi sagrado y por lo tanto la escuela decidió cerrar la oficinas temprano ayer y el día de hoy. Las personas que usted encontró en la escuela son los instructores de jóvenes y pocos de ellos hablan español. Nuevamente sentimos no poder servirle a usted de la manera que nuestro personal de la oficina normalmente trata a nuestra clientela espero que comprenda la importancia de este Viernes para nuestros empleados que decidieron estar junto a sus familiares en este dia.
Negative experience: Never suggest to this driving school I loss my money . I purchased seven adult driving classes from this school and I got two driving class every two month . The instructor didn’t teach basic driving school during classes. I loss my money

Drivers education and safety its our main goal along with the satisfaction of our customers. we strive to serve each and everyone of OUR customers, and if we get someone that may not be satisficed with our service we try our best to find the reason and correct our shortcomings. In your specific situations its impossible to help since we cannot find you in our roster. Most of the people that for whiever reason its not learning will coment something during the first few lessons specially if they are not been taught correctly you waited seven lessons to state you didn't learn. We noticed you also wrote a negative review for the other Carrollton Driving school evidently Carrollton Driving schools have been unable to help. we hope you can find another driving school outside of our city or perhaps someone that can help you. Again if you would like to get a refund for the money you "Wasted" please contact us with your correct name and we will be more than willing to help with that.
Fantastic experience: Booked my appointment. Reached 30 min early. I recommend everyone to be there at least 15-20 min before your scheduled time. Someone was asked to reschedule their appointment as he was late by 7 min. The instructor was very friendly. The test was wrapped up in 15 min. Passed!

Negative experience: I'm really curious about what I experienced this morning. Light was green, and I'm turning right, I saw white car turning left and almost hit my car, I saw driver teacher pointed at me acting like it was my fault. Really? When people make left turn I thought they have to wait until traffic is clear. Please collect me if I'm wrong.

Fantastic experience: I'm actually shocked of how positive ALL of the staff were as well as the customers. I first met with Jose whom greeted me with a wide smile and road tested with a gentleman named Habib. I'm really glad I chose 3rd party, since the difference between the DPS and this school is night & day. In the future, I hope to get more professional behind-the-wheel training. Negative experience: Majority of the staff here seems kind and welcoming, however I had an incredibly negative experience with one of the instructors. When I came in for a behind the wheel practice, this old white man was my instructor. He was incredibly condescending the whole time and was on his phone while I was driving. Then when I came in for my road test I was 10 minutes late because their was heavy rain and traffic. I already felt bad for being late and when I got to the location with my luck, the same instructor who I had previously was there. He was incredibly rude to me for being late. I have never experienced this kind of treatment ever and I could not believe what I was hearing from him. He told me that he did not have to give me my road test because I was late. I was speechless after hearing this and he made me feel worse for being late. Fortunately, I passed the test but the whole time, the instructor was rude as usual. I have had few interactions with the other staff at this location, but they all seem very welcoming and professional. However, this instructor was incredibly rude, hostile, and unprofessional. My entire experience at this establishment was ruined because of one terrible employee.

As to been late, we do have a 5 minute policy in place as you would imagine road testing every 30 Minutes if we allow more than that we will continually be late towards the end of the day and we want to make sure that we are on time for all of our test, with that been said that doesn't give a right to anyone to be rude or condescending. We strive to provide an excellent customer Service to all of our clients and I personally dislike when something like this happens. we failed you in this area and that is bottom line and for the errors of one, the entire team has a loss of customer satisfaction and trust. on behalf of the other 26 employees at Drive Smart I will like to publicly to you and we would love to get an opportunity to mend our error. Fantastic experience: I got my drivers license in June. I did all my in-car lessons and road test with them. The instructors were extremely nice and my road test instructor really helped me not to be nervous!

Negative experience: I usually don’t write reviews but this time is a must!! I had the worse experience with this school. I purchased 6 driving lessons for my 18 years old daughter. After waiting a month in order to find an available class, today when she went there she was told her appointment was canceled! I went and talk to the office manager and explained the inconvenience this has caused us, we both had to leave work to be there for class, she told me to find another school and all schools operate this way! By the way this was not her only appointment that was canceled. So, this school is the worse: you can only book 2 classes at the time, then you have to wait at least one month to find another class then when you go in your class is canceled and the office manager does not care and is quick to sent you somewhere else! Surprised they are still in business!

Drive times are of importance to us as well as you, we fully understand the inconvenience that creates when someone has an appointment especially when that appointment gets canceled last minute. Nevertheless, instructors are humans, and they have personal or health situations that may arise in a last-minute situation like in your specific case which may not allow us enough time to call you to explain the reason and to reschedule your time. Unfortunately, in your case, that was something you were not interested in hearing when the office manager told you about the emergency that arose and that we had a few instructors that were out ill. and they are not easily replaceable nowadays. you wanted us to accomplish a task that we could not complete especially when the threat used to get us to act in your favor was a bad google review. Negative experience: My son took the road test and an instructor, not the one we scheduled with, but one we did not, gave the test. We should have been notified that the instructor changed because had we known, we would have rescheduled. He was extremely rude and aggressive and gave no feedback. In addition, he was dressed very unprofessionally. WE WERE NOT A WALK IN. I SCHEDULED THIS OVER TWO MONTHS AGO. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY INSTEAD OF MAKING EXCUSES. I ALSO DID NOT DISAGREE WITH THE EXAM. THAT IS NOT WHAT THIS IS ABOUT. IT IS ABOUT BEING RUDE, AGGRESSIVE AND UNPROFESSIONAL; WHICH INCLUDES YOUR RESPONSE. ALSO, YOU ARE CONFUSED WITH SOMEONE ELSE. THERE WAS NO RETEST AND NO DRIVING, ONLY THE PARKING AND THEN IT ENDED. The instructor's shoes were a safety issue if he is giving lessons. Please look at them. He cannot be safe or keep student's safe. EDIT: We were told exactly how to set this up from the school and did that. When we did so, it showed the instructor's name for the road test and that instructor is professional. I do not go after small businesses and I have NEVER left a bad review until now. This instructor apparently has had multiple similar complaints. Who you employ is a representation of your business. He should have introduced himself. Been kind, not hard to do. Gave feedback as to what was wrong and what can be improved on for the next time. Not be aggressive and curt. Of course we will go to the DPS as we would never come back here again.
Good afternoon, My most sincere apology for misunderstanding your review. I would have been grateful to deal with this in person rather than getting google involved but it seems to be the way society punishes small businesses nowadays, unlike big businesses we rely on our reputation to set us apart from others. I am not attempting to make excuses for any examiner or Instructor but answering the review in the order that it was written. The Examiners, unlike instructors, are not assigned. therefore we couldn't have notified you as to who was going to test your son prior to the date. You are 100% correct there was only "parking and that was as far as it end it " by state law parallel parking must be completed without violating the law or placing anyone in danger. a failure to comply will stop the test immediately. as far as feedback when the person fails they are told directly what caused their failure and how to correct their shortcomings and the examiner described that to your son in my presence. if he was rude while in the car or outside of my office I personally apologize to you and your son, we provide onboard cameras in our cars for students' and instructors' safety, and I will review them and approach the examiner as needed. as far as his footwear personally I don't normally look at that area and perhaps is something that we need to look at. but I assure you that a good instructor will be able to maintain a safe environment for any student to drive regardless of the footwear he or she may wear. In the future, I invite you to visit the Department of Public Safety for your testing. and on behalf of the school and the other instructors and examiners along with the front staff, we apologize for not providing what you expected of our school.
Positive experience: I did driving lessons from nothing to my road test pass got an 80 on it only few things I noticed this Asian guy that get really upset he scared me get me nervous he yell at you in vietnamese he limit English almost at least 2 car I start in has super lost brakes i push the brakes it didn't to nothing or bare do anything until I put in the floor I gotten a response that was one of most worst lessons Ig I learned how car with bad brakes felt other than 2 or 3 with Asian guy it was chill and fun I loved this Mexican guy and the black dude they was super chill and relaxing teach me alot this Indian lady was my first teacher she say I learned fast and I was going be good driver cuz I was cautious but aggressive when needed be she tell can't be too cautious but you can't be to aggressive they both can kill you when driving I was hoping see her more on my journey of learning to drive but I wish knew the Indian lady chubby Mexican guy and black dude names but they was best teachers who was informative and helpful and they made there goals to have their students pass

Fantastic experience: I'm a nervous driver so I bought the 3 driving classes and later did the road test. My instructor was Mr. Vu and I'm so glad I had him as my instructor. He is very encouraging, patient and hilarious. I really wanted to take my road test with him but my schedule didn't allow it. I ended up passing my road test and learning how to parallel park very well. If you need someone really nice and patient I recommend him. He definitely deserves a raise

Pienso que para quienes llegan a Dallas procedentes de otro país y necesitan obtener su licencia de conducir de forma correcta y expedita, acudir a esta escuela es la mejor opción, además de los cursos y pruebas requeridos por la ley, te ofrecen la mejor asesoría sobre los pasos necesarios para que puedas tener tu licencia sin perder tiempo.

Fantastic experience: My daughter and my son both signed up for the class. They said the staff was patient, understanding, and actively responded to all the student's questions. They completed their driving tests there, as well. I'm recommending them, also because they offer classes in English and Spanish, plus the staff is diverse and friendly.

Fantastic experience: out of all the places i’ve went to for my drivers license test, this place is best. the staff was extremely nice and everyone greeted us good morning as soon as we came in. the lady who did my test was also extremely polite, and made me feel extremely comfortable while taking the road test. this is definitely the place you want to be!

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this place. We have taken 2 kids and an adult for the driving test for DPS. This place is great the employees were smiling, laughing interacting with the customers and among themselves which makes a happy work place. I took my step son today he was nervous but was at ease the trainer was not stiff and uptight. He gave him a few minutes in the car by himself to get comfortable with the car. Very happy and will continue to use and recommend.

Negative experience: This school only allow 2 scheduled drive times. The student must finish one before scheduling another drive time. By then, the next open spot isn’t for about 2 weeks later if we are lucky. Otherwise it is at least a month after. It has been the whole summer and more but my son still has not completed his driving times because of this school’s scheduling policy. I would recommend looking elsewhere if this rule of theirs doesn’t work for your family.
Greetings, I would love to address the specific situation of the appointments but we tried to research your case and found no one with the same last name, so I can only speak in a a general spectrum rather than specific. You are correct we have a two appointment schedule with the understanding that they will be at least weeks apart from the other once you complete the first one you will be able to schedule your third and so forth. The back up is a situation encountered not only by our school but by the entire industry in the state and maybe perhaps the nation due to Covid 19 restrictions. instructors are working full schedule to try to alleviate this situation and we are willing to work with every parent to reach a remedy to their specific. situation. We sincerely apologize if we have not met your expectations and we invite you to reach out to our school director if you feel that you didn't get what you paid for.

Negative experience: Company did not supply my child with the appropriate lessons for her age. My child was 18 and they sold me a 16 and under package. Since I had never bought anything like this before I was relying on the business to sell me exactly what was needed as I've never used a service like this before. I pay almost 400$ for a certificate she can't use at the DPS office and lessons she never got to use or try. Furthermore the DPS office said they ripped us off as the company should know better. We take the certificate she earned for the first week & DPS said she can't use the certificate she has to do the 18 and older class/exam. We had to go through another company to pay for that so out of $$ again. Using this company was a waste of time and money. That was our unfortunate experience.
Good evening We are sorry that you feel the way you do about our business, we are not in the business of ripping anyone off as we proved thru the refund we provided for the service that you never used. Your daughter attended 9 days of the 16 day course, Unfortunately like you said you you never bought anything like this and you were evidently misinformed as to what you got. First The DPS doesn’t control nor they fully understand Drivers Education they are in the business of issuing licenses and not controlling how drivers education work. your daughter could have easily use the course that you were offered since the regular Teen/Adult course can be used by anyone from the age of 15 to the age of 24 to get their learners license or B restricted license. We invite you to read the contract you filled and signed online and where we clearly explain every single step if you still think we ripped you off you can always call the Texas Department of licensing and regulation,Drivers Education Section they may be able to clarify the option you used and they will tell you if you got ripped off or if we offered you a completely legal Drivers education course that could have been used by your daughter.
