C.R. England is a family-owned, customer and employee focused corporation since 1920, and is driven to deliver excellence as one of the most prominent temperature-controlled carriers in the nation.
Our comment from DrivingSchools.Directory about C.R. England:
C.R. England is a well-known trucking school that emphasizes quick CDL training and job placement. Many students appreciate the friendly staff, knowledgeable instructors, and the hands-on training they receive. The school has a solid curriculum designed to help students pass their CDL tests with confidence in a matter of days.
Positive aspects include:
- Engaged and supportive instructors who genuinely want to see students succeed.
- A fast-paced program that allows graduates to obtain their CDL in around 10 days.
- A welcoming environment where students feel like part of a family.
- Strong focus on safety and providing the necessary tools for students to thrive on the road.
However, there are several areas where C.R. England could improve:
- Accommodation facilities often receive criticism, with reports of overcrowding and poor cleanliness.
- Students frequently mention the need to bring their own food, as meals are not provided, leading to additional expenses.
- Some students have reported a lack of organization and communication in the scheduling of classes and instructors.
- Concerns were raised about the treatment and approach of certain trainers.
For anyone considering training at C.R. England, it's essential to be prepared for both the positive experiences with the training staff and the potential challenges regarding facilities and support. Researching thoroughly and entering with the right expectations will help make the most out of the experience.
C.R. England: Reviews
Negative experience: I was living with my own life happily during pandemic times, and all of a sudden I received a call from a man and he invited me to join CR England for CDL training. Fee was $6000 per student and accommodation was horrible. First at all I was hungry almost every day due to no places to buy foods nearby. They do take students to Walmart to shop but limited time. CR England trucking school is the truly a place of suffering if you were looking to become a CDL A driver. To be honest with you as human being, I was verbally harassed by the trainers during the training over the roads. I had to change trainers three times because they treated me so bad. It was the worst experiences in my life and cost me a lot of money for foods, travel expenses and home sickness. CR England is a big trucking company, and they invite all kinds of humble and poor people from all over the country and to collect money in total. They are many other trucking schools with low cost of training. Probably around $2500 to $3000. Stay away from CR England trucking school in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Negative experience: Beware. Like most mega carriers, they'll mark false thing on your HireRight Dac report like Abandonmen if you leave them. I've never abandoned any load or equipment at all.
Negative experience: We get CA>FL shipment with 23k weight, which turns out to be 10k more last minute, broker kept nuggin every minute before pick up done, After pick if anything was needed no one was replying (even the com check numbers were wrong, which dumb Indians gave to the driver so we couldn't use it,, and finally after delivery broker refused to reimburse the extra weight telling customer refused.. so pathetic guys,, soo pathetic load 12598377
Negative experience: If you ever apply here avoid a recruiter named Brenda Diaz. I have autism which causes a speech impediment and on 10-04-2024 at approximately 5 pm I had a disagreement with how she handled background clearance and when I asked to speak to her boss or someone from background clearance she claimed I spoke in circles and hung up on me without even saying anything. On Friday I asked an account manager to speak to human resources and instead transfered me to recruiting which she answered. I stated to her several times I wanted to speak to human resources and she made it clear that as an applicant she will be my main point of contact and that I shall speak to nobody else but her. If you value your dignity stay away from cr England. If their recruiters treat you this badly I wonder what their DBLs will do to you as a driver.
Negative experience: I wish I had listened to the negative reviews before attending this school. It has completely ruined my early 20s and continues to affect me. Years ago, I enrolled without knowing my license was suspended in New Jersey due to an unpaid traffic ticket. With the amount of money this school makes, you'd expect better hiring practices, like checking the status of my license before starting my training. After completing the training, we went to the DMV in my state to get my CDL, only for me to be denied due to the suspension. Afterward, my instructor drove us back to Texas to drop off a load, and believe it or not, I was kicked out of the truck in Texas, put in a hotel for a few hours, and then sent on a Greyhound bus back to Florida, where I lived at the time. But that’s not the worst part! I was charged over $7,000 for a CDL I never received because of my suspended license. I refused to pay, as I never got the CDL that was promised, and the school should have informed me about the suspension before training me. As a result of not paying, the debt was sent to collections, which dropped my credit score by over 100 points. Although I now have a lawyer working on the situation, I want to warn others about how this school operates. It's all about making money & they rush you through the door without proper background checks just to make a profit. I highly recommend considering other trucking schools. If I had paid attention to the reviews and other people’s experiences, I could have saved myself from this headache. It’s disappointing that no one in HR understands or cares because, to them, it’s just about the money.
Negative experience: This company is dishonest and unethical. They self insure their terrible truck drivers and then never payout for the significant damage they cause to buildings, light poles landscape islands or anything else they damage by hitting or driving over. Can't respect a company that isn't honest in their business dealing. Causing damage and not paying for the cost of that damage.
Negative experience: if you want to get your cdl quick this is a good place to start, pay after so they dont fk up you credit. everything else the "we are a family" thing is a joke and dont get brain washed by them. i had sirkus saying you wont find a job if you leave us and dont complate your one year contract. total bs you will get a job anyways. they treat you like an animal and you will get pay 43 cents a mile and up to 45 but you got to beg for it. sending whole bunch of sht as a safety that they want you to do. i did my training and got my "upgrade" in Laredo Texas after Getting my cdl in Utah. I went solo two weeks. first week i made 250 yet they still took 45 off from school loan. 2nd week i made 300 and i had to still take money out of my savings to keep me alive and not starve in the truck. After that i dropped truck in laredo yard and flew home. The "What you put in is what you get" is bs. thn they tell you "money will come not now but it will come" yeah once you go work elsewhere it will. and finaly 40x4=160 a month 160x12=1,920 a year coming out your pay check every week, from the 7k they will only pay 4,000 after the year you got to work for them if you stay but you'll be better off elsewhere they will fire you for literally anything. they ask so much safety and and all of that but offer pennies as a pay. NOPE THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOU. glad i got out after two weeks.
Fantastic experience: Instructors are knowledgable and friendly, curriculum is legit, hands on training is invaluable. For 2 weeks the training is hard core- youre eating, breathing, and sleeping how to handle a big rig. As long as you study and try to apply yourself, youlle do fine. These are good hardworking people focused on safety. I love this place!
Negative experience: Newbie obviously! Parks the wrong way on the fuel island against a red zone. Goes in for twenty minutes. Pulls out in front of a truck going to fuel, cuts in between parked trucks to get to the exit. WTH England??
Fantastic experience: Got my CDL class a manual. Great class. Real good instructors. Recommended to all who wants to achieve there CDL in 2 weeks. And be trained right
Negative experience: This is a scrab company . I here since 10 days . Done everything . They give me a truck also. But they have not load for me, still waiting since 6 days. Nobody contact with me nor even reply . No email reply . No msgs reply. Waste of time and money because I leave other company to job here and they did not give me load . Do not come here for job. I want to give 0 star .
Negative experience: I went through their Cdl school in Indiana for the second part I was dropped of in SLC it was soo miserable here I had to pay for a local motel and cab rides to finish. Their dorm is worse than the military they had 8 bunk beds full in 1 room showers on the wall with no privacy separators toilets had no doors and the staff around here is terrible. Getting started and working with cr england was the most horrible experience I’ve ever had but on the bright side I lost weight working there not hard to do when the pay is soo little
Fantastic experience: I've had my CDL for 3 years. I bounced around a few different companies because the money wasn't worth the time I was gone, I would just sit waiting for loads, or every few weeks, I had a different DM. I started with C.R. England in November. I've been running the Family Dollar loads out of St. George, UT. I like handling freight because it gets me a little exercise each week. I'm happy with all the office people. They have been very helpful to me, and I can always get a hold of them in a timely manner. Overall, my pay is better than ever, I get home time, and they keep me busy.
Negative experience: I think you're idiot drivers here in Colton California. Right off of bustamante parkway I'm surprised these drivers ain't have an accident yet at the rate they're driving treating this like a dragstrip while pulling Walmart trailers. At the rate they're driving you'll probably have a lot of damages with freight.
Negative experience: One of dangerous and bad hearted Mentor, his name is JACK RABBICI . He was not supportive at all, always on phone games while talking to his friends. Anytime you ask him he acts like you discomfort him, and sometimes he does not reply even when you need his support or idea about any case in the road. He does not have ability to live with anybody else, he is careless enough to not be positioned as a mentor. I had very stinky moments ever with him.
Negative experience: This place is terrible. Once I actually start driving for them I might have to update this review. But in just the 3 days I’ve been here for orientation I’ve had a terrible experience. The drug tests are taking way longer than they promised so I’m missing my start date with my fleet. That is going to cause some problems since I have to go with a mentor to start out. The rooms we stay in are literally 10x6 rooms (and that’s being generous) with two bunk beds. A guy that works here and has been to prison told us that they get more room in prison than we do. Everything stinks and the mattresses are the worst I’ve ever seen. I had to use two sets of sheets just to feel okay with sleeping on them. They are gross. There facilities are useless too. They have the bare minimum in amenities and things to do and it all has to be paid for. Not to mention the terrible shape it’s all in. We are done with orientation so we aren’t doing anything but they won’t let us leave until our drug tests are cleared. Unless you live right close by and have been commuting anyway. I have a wife and kid at home that since I’m not doing anything here I’d love to be able to go home and spend time with them. But they will not let me leave so am stuck here with nothing to do. I am literally going crazy. If I hadn’t already come this far I’d quit and go with some other company. Like I said, once I actually start driving hopefully I’ll be able to update this review in a good way. For now it gets 0 stars though. Terrible. Awful. Hate this place.
Negative experience: Do not waste your time, I went there a couple years ago in Utah. The Mexican instuctors who claim to be Hawaiians are very rude, and liars. You can get better pay with less hours working for a local delivery company. I wouldn't recommend anyone to work for any cdl school for that matter. I didn't deal with their nonsense very long, I went there on a Sunday and left by the Friday morning. I paid my own airfare both ways. The restrooms are what they call "sanitary". I took pics just incase
Negative experience: I would leave a zero star review if I could they put you through school no issue there. I do have an issue with Brian Baker a worthless dm that refuses to pay you. Avoid this company at all costs. Not worth the stress and worries to have to deal with it.
Negative experience: I would like to take this time and think CR England for bringing me all the way to salt lake city from Zanesville Ohio roughly 1700 mi away to go thru a 2 week long orientation and when I had a family issue back home firing for me and making me find my own way home knowing I was broke Would also like to thank the recurring department for failing to mention you'd need to bring money with you to orientation because they do not supply a lunch or breakfast during your stay they barely supply you a place to sleep from day one it's all been a run around the left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing with CR England I was promised mentorship and that was a hastle its self that was a waste of time because after jumping all those hoops I still wasn't "certified" CR England is a joke they will waste your time and money they have no compassion for their drivers they do not care about you at all the "we are a family" motto only applys if your are a England 110% do not recommend CRE to anyone driver code JBSE
Negative experience: it's sad that I have to call your safety dept 3 times to let them know that trk# 220657 while pulling trailer 3144, had an empty flatbed covered in snow & ice. Which is against federal DOT regulations. Between the first and second calls the driver drove over 175 miles. I was told they'd contact said driver. The driver continued another 40 plus miles. Called the 3rd time & asked for a supervisor & was told the driver would be contacted. A few minutes later the driver pulled off in Green River, WY. I'm not sure if the driver was contacted or if they cleaned off the deck of the trailer. The sad part is that it took 3 calls. If CR England isn't gonna take it seriously and neither are their drivers maybe there needs to be some retraining or said driver should lose their job. There's a reason there's a law to clean off trailers. And it's not a good one.
Negative experience: CR England recruiters keep ignoring me. I filled out an application online. Upon completion, I was sent an email stating, (I won’t publicly post their name), that my application has been assigned to a specific recruiter. I called that recruiter multiple times, leaving voicemails, and they have yet to return my calls. I then took it upon myself to just go ahead and call the Hotline to speak with a different recruiter to see if I could receive an update on my application. I was able to get a hold of a recruiter, he placed me on a brief hold, returned back on the line and said, “I don’t know if there are any available jobs in your area. I will check with my manager and get back to you in 15 minutes.” How could that be when I responded to an ad that CR England had just barely posted on Indeed for my specific area? I clicked on the ad to apply, but was transferred right to CR Englands website and clicked the “Apply Now” button. So I know it was legit. How is it that you don’t know if there any available positions in my area, but you just barely posted an ad on Indeed for my area? This whole thing makes no sense. This company is dodging me, and I have no idea why. I have never applied for this company before nor have I ever been affiliated with anyone that is or has been employed by these guys. I really don’t appreciate the experience I had. And I won’t be recommending this company to any one who’s looking for trucking positions.
Negative experience: All I’m going to say is believe all these 1 star reviews. This company is to horrible to mention. They’re only interested in nailing you down with a truck lease. They don’t care if you make any money or go completely bankrupt. Some of the 1 star reviews may sound ridiculous. But, sadly, they’re very true.
Negative experience: Place starved me out, was a joke to me the way they yell at you for using on duty time. Last week in Anna , TX one of there trucks parked next to me, all crooked inThe parking spot too! Two foreigners drivers. Well about a hour later I hear this “ Clanking “ stuff hitting the ground next to my truck. So I get my shoes on and go investigate. I found Two 24 ounce cans of bud light( empty, mind you) on the ground between our trucks! Got there truck and trailer numbers. I don’t care if you have a beer at beginning of your 10 break but there were garbage cans behind your truck for such a purpose of throwing things away!
Positive experience: Bring money and make Walmart runs as the prices of eating can get kinda high especially when you were jobless and broke. Facilities are alright but hey you gotta start somewhere. Get your CDL.
Negative experience: Forced 1 star because unlike dan England clearance wouldnt support how Walmart " Clinton Walmart " attacked a disabled vet and his service dog when all they did was ask for help after waiting for 20 minutes to pick up their curbside order then asked for help. They ended up getting trespassed over this on 8-8-2022
Negative experience: The school was great with excellent instructors and trainers. But I was a driver for a year and only being paid a maximum amount of $200 per month was absolutely unacceptable and inhumane. For a company that claimed to take pride in its drivers that the biggest worse joke I've ever heard. The worst part is no matter how much I begged for help and begged to be paid so I could eat and survive there was always an excuse for it all. So not only will I never return but I'll never recommend anyone to drive for CR England
Negative experience: This morning 6am I was merging onto the 10 fwy in Ontario, California when this truck came from behind and would not slow down. He forced me onto the shoulder almost causing me to hit the wall. When he saw I was taking a picture of his information he started honking nonstop at me.
Positive experience: CR England in my opinion has done an excellent job teaching even novices to drive. It takes diligent, dedicated concentration on the studies but most people can pass if they do the work. In my class people came from all over the world. I myself had started a class in upper SC and found the school to be one of the worst educational experiences in my life. Before we had one instructor who was old and smoked constantly to seventeen students. I came here and on some days we had a one teacher to three students. They have 15 trucks just dedicated to backing practice, five for in cab, three available at any hour of the day. Seven (?) very well trained open road instructors. The dorms were comfortable and adequate. It was clean for the most part. It would take an army of custodians to keep up with some of the bad habits of cleanliness of some of these people. All in all a very good experience.
Fantastic experience: The equipment and pay is top notch. My driver manager was excellent. They keep you busy but still put your personal needs as a driver first.
Positive experience: I am active duty and researching to see what company best fits my needs! With COVID and all these other factors....why is this company putting so many people in one room. Are they required to get a COVID test? Also if so many people are getting scammed, why are they not getting shut down for bad business practices?
Negative experience: This is a good start if your 20 to 30 years old an in need of a career. But if you have a family to support, find something else! If you don't have the financial resources to pay for CDL class, this is the place to go. Keep in mind you'll sign papers agreeing to pay back the school loan at $5900! But do not expect to make a descent living here! They will forgive the balance of your school loan if you stay with them for a year. I couldn't. With two young children to support the net pay here was terrible. I had no choice but to take on different company. Besides, for some reason they have customers that will keep you waiting for hours and hours at a time. The detention pay is terrible as well. They swear they support drivers, but really it's all about CR ENGLAND and what they earn OFF YOUR hard work. To be fair here, the school in Utah was excellent and I learned how to drive a big rig. So be careful and know what to expect if you choose this place to work.
Fantastic experience: I love this school everyone was so nice and beautiful inside and out . They help me and my husband every step of the way!! I really don’t know where to start is so many wonderful things I can say about the school.
Fantastic experience: I had a great experience here. All the staff are great and they do their best to help you get your CDL. It's entirely up to you. If you really want it, you'll do the one and done.
Fantastic experience: I just wanted take time tell about my experience with CR England I hope this will help for the next person so far I only have got my CDL if that not another to be said at this point you get what put in and yes I did enjoy the school over all good school and helpful instructions they get you what need to be success.
Negative experience: back in 2017, I went to the school in Salt Lake city, Utah. I was only there for 3 days before I got sick. they placed me in a room with 5 other women and 3 of the women in there were already sick. after signing the contract, I wanted to go home from getting ill and I asked someone in hr could they wave the contract so I could go home. I was only there for 4 days and I owe almost 6,000 to the school who put me in a room where I got sick. still trying to get it off my credit today and I didn't even get any training here.
Fantastic experience: The Best place to get your CDL. I personally love all the instructors and the entire team. They are some of the best people. Thank you CR England family for helping me get my CDL. Can't wait to see what's instore for in the future.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful stuff, Christie and Mindy( hell to the yeah) and on top of that, man the instructors are amazing (Tom and Brandon were amazing) I mean everyone i came in contact with was very helpful! They will work with you until u pass!
Fantastic experience: Awesome place to learn! You’ll be surprised how fast you can learn. I’d highly recommend training and working with C. R. England
Fantastic experience: They are really nice and do everything they can to help you, Kristy Serrano was really fair with me as far as my options and would definitely come to their trucking school in the future.
Fantastic experience: Cr England is a awesome trucking school, it’s the best ❤️ I wish I had made to move longtime ago, but I am glad I did and it’s the best move I made not just for myself but for my daughters. the staff is so amazing everyone is so full of joy and is of your best interest they want to see you do well and be successful and pass your cdl they give you all the tools required to pass. Just go there with a positive attitude and willingness to learn and apply yourself and you will be successful. I want to say a special thank you to SERGIO great guy he really help me a lot to make this possible, also Mr Mark for the video on YouTube and helping me in person also the other pre-trip instructor, my road instructor BRANDON awesome guy as well he is funny and firm at the same time, because he want to be successful and be a safe driver on the road he believe in me. Bless up Mike great guy as well he teach me a tip in my offset parking “bring it to the lot of goal” . Miss Cristy also also coming in the class room full of joy and energy every single day and the directors as well. wow the list is so long. If I forget names I truly apologize, but Thank you for everyone that play vital part in me attaining my CDL. Also how I can I forget to thank my God he play a vital role as well without him it wouldn’t be possible, I held on to faith and put in the work and rewarded me . Wow my experience overall was great I implore anyone considering to get there cdl go for it Cr England is the way to go. Overcome your fears and don’t limit yourself. I am happy I choose CR ENGLAND. how can I forget the good food in the canteen ❤️ Man it’s good big up the staff and the chef . Thank you CR ENGLAND for the opportunity to better myself. Last but not least special thank you to my recruiter ROBERTO and VERENDA coming Andrae Thomas
Positive experience: Independent contractor some years ago. Made decent money and always had miles. Driver managers were a tad pushy and the equipment wasn't the best but it was a good company to drive for overall
Negative experience: Didn't get my CDL here so I have no strong opinion about the school or even the rooms you sleep in, but as a heavyset driver though this is one of the most frustrating Centers I've been to, there is no where to sit if you are heavyset except the laundry room, during buissnes hours on the weekday you can sit in the lunch area but when it's the weekends there is NO PLACE TO SIT, No tables chairs except the armrest ones in the hallway which are too amall for overweight people, they want you to not idle your truck, I am happy to keeo my idle time to a minimum but you have to provide me at least a place to sit, where is the driver lounge this is the only center without one, why is there a empty room with tables and chairs just screaming to be used but its locked and unused!? I'm not asking for much here, I would like to sit somewhere that isn't outside on 100 degree heat or a broken stool in the upstairs diming room. Open up a room or somthing with chairs and tables please. You have them in Colton and even the dumpy Lerado center, get them here please.
Fantastic experience: Very efficient curriculum to get your CDL and a Job. The 2 week classes go by pretty fast. However, I suggest all that are considering the program to research everything concerning hair follicle drug testing. Then look in the mirror and be honest with yourself. You don't want to come out, only to get sent home two days into the week on your dime.
Fantastic experience: Wow I don't know where to start as there's a lot of good things to talk about. Let me start with England Premier Trucking Driving School. My initial hiring team did a great job to bring me on board to C. R. England, taking me through every step till my arrival at SLC, UT. Kudos Joshua Taggart & Vorite! Upon arrival to C. R. England there was that atmosphere everybody was treated as family and that was a joyful and relaxing feeling and down deep in my heart I knew I was in the right place to succeed in my ambitions, dreams and goals in the transportation industry. We were all given a warm welcome and started trucking school. I was assigned Noah my Backing Instructor and Clemente my Driving Instructor and also worked with all the other Instructors and they were all articulate and thorough in their training. All one needs to do is follow their instructions and that's almost a guaranteed One & Done during testing. Testing was equally an amazing experience and as normal, students are tensed before testing and the examiners try to relax us and they're very polite while doing their testing. During hiring process Mindy is one amazing and awesome person together with Christy and the entire management team. One thing that I have observed and struck me is the level of Safety Advocacy that C. R. England has and the care to see every body work safe and go home safe. That is a strong commitment that I am admiring and wanting to stay with C. R. England for a long haul to build my trucking career. C. R. England is the right choice and place to be and where you meet amazing and awesome people who treat you as family and also get the best of the best training and work environment above and beyond, excellence and professional team players!!! Thank you C. R. England for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the family and team!!! God bless you all abundantly
Fantastic experience: I am a new driver with C.R. England, I just finished school with them on 7/1/21 and was hired by them on the 6th. After seeing everything that I have seen I am loving this company and looking forward to a long promising career. Thank you to Noah, Tandy, Roy, Tim and Mark who all played a huge part in my instruction and helping me get my CDL. Thank you to all of the staff that helped me make my dream a reality!
Fantastic experience: This experience was fun met all kinds of nice people everyone was very helpful. Everyone wants to see each other succeed and the staff was amazing and help you with what ever you need. A big shout out to Christy and Mindy for helping and getting me started and rolling they are the best.
Fantastic experience: They gave me an opportunity to start a new career. Travel the country, good pay, and they take care of their drivers (if you're not an idiot.) Only been with them about 4 months but I'm enjoying myself although I do wish I could be home more often as a solo OTR. Looking to switch to regional someday when available.
Fantastic experience: Great staff! Everyone in the facility works very hard and diligently want to see you succeed. Mindy and Christi are both amazing. Sarkis is always very cool. Most of my instructors were spot on with mutual understanding and respect. Great company to start with!!
Negative experience: Im changing my review, they have skrewed me over in multiple ways and the only reason im not giving a 1 star is because my DM is amazing, but the company overall is a scam
Fantastic experience: I was skeptical at first. I had seen so many videos of horror stories here at CR England. Don't know what they were complaining about because my experience was awesome! The student coordinators Christy Serrano aka Mrs Julio Jones, Rosita Vallejos and Mindy Johnson were great!! Very uplifting and extremely sincere! The backing trainers as well as driving trainers were awesome and knew what they were doing! Ralph took his time to explain the backing procedures and made sure you were able to make it happen! Rigo was my driving instructor as well as Tim and Celeste. Awesome guys and I took advise from all three and made it happen!! The staff and company take safety to another level! With driving and covid-19, body temps are taken each time you enter the facilities. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I was placed in quarantine, tested negative. Also with Thanksgiving holiday I was out for about 11 days. Came back and finished orientation and was hired today! If your trying to get your CDL, call CR England and get started! You won't regret it! I promise! ONE BIG HAPPY FAMILY!!!
Negative experience: If youre thinking about the school dont do it run run run as fast as you can they teach you nothing. If you pass you are trained with another student as well as the driver trainer then you are forced to drive teams with another student if you are on have been on any prescription meds take your prescription with you even then they probably wont accept it when you fail your hair folical test you are much better off getting the loan and going to a real school CR England is a joke worse than Swift ever thought of being
Fantastic experience: This is a family company, as soon as you put your application and you come to their facility they start seen you like part of the family. Employees are awesome, instructor really professional and experienced giving to their students the best knowledge they can share with others. Facility is really clean and monitoring the temperature bodily each single time any body are coming in. The process for hiring is quick and easy. They have a hundred of trailers waiting for new drivers. Wages competitive. They have theirown trucking school so it is easy become a CR England Family part. Accept the challenge to become a PROFESSIONAL TRUCKING DRIVER!! Well after become a Driver and having truck responsibility things change. I have 15 days in the truck. Until today my fleet manager keep me almost 7 days without rolling so no driving miles no money in my pocket. I spend Three days in Tucson Arizona for truck check engine on. Finally I got an load in side the same City no driving miles no money. Then I got load to Dallas Tx. Spend one day without load again no driving miles no money. After 24 hours without load I get one for next day to Englewood Co. finished at 9:30 and I spend more the 24 hours without load so again no money no honey. Later like three I gan assignment so I arrive here yesterday early there are more the 36 hours waiting for load at JBS meat plant at Greeley Co. so in 15 days I have 7 without load no money no honey. So RIDE or DIE. So this is my personal experience it doesn’t meant that everybody have the same experience. So you decide if want to be part of CR England family company or not. What I feel is office employees they have their wages secure. They go home everyday, they take a shower every time they wanted, they are at home so I don’t care what the driver pass thru. That is what I see and I feel. I came to CR England with my own CDL and medical certificate. CR England doesn’t pay no one cent for me or my CDL class A. Even though they are paying me like if they did.
Fantastic experience: I just graduated from the Salt Lake City CR England school, and I fell in love! It's a great school, great people, and I am excited to be a part of the family! I picked my driver partner, and we are excited to hit the road!
Positive experience: FIRST OF ALL the instructors are kind and teach their style well. They show patience and are encouraging. They only yell so you can hear them from outside of the truck. They truly want you to succeed. I wish the instructors were consistent. I got confused when one instructor will teach me to back a truck and another will contradict and confuse me, but I figured out what I had to do. The same problem with driving training. I had 4 trainers. 3 taught me 1 way to make a right turn and 1 says I went out too far. Only 1 took me on a difficult turn. I wish I had MORE practice on this difficult turn. Although, this almost hairpin isn't on the test, it would be nice to practice it more. ON TEST DAY...its the luck of the draw if you get ONE AND DONE I know some people the tester did not parallel park and only drove a short distance. Whereas some got BY THE BOOK testers and those students failed and took the test again. I also think the school should be extended one week longer. More backing and road practice. More mock test. OFFICE PERSONAL ARE TOP NOTCH but they need more helpers to equal the amount of student demand. BRING $MONEY$ FOR FOOD. ITS EXPENSIVE. THEY DO NOT FEED YOU. YOU WILL NEED ABOUT $300- $500 for groceries, hot meals, snacks and laundry and if you smoke or chew tobacco. YOU WILL NEED $$$ MONEY WHEN YOU GO ON THE ROAD. IT WILL BE At Least 2 WEEKS B4 YOU GET PAID ONCE YOUR ON THE ROAD AFTER GRADUATION.
Fantastic experience: Over all the instructors and staff are nice and helpful, they give us much help as they can achieve our CDL, the dorm rooms are the only thing I don't like here, is dirty and air-conditioner are loud you can't sleep with, but during the covid 19 they doing pretty good job to separate people, measure temperature and let everyone have their own room, and me with many other students were paid by company to moved in to the hotel. Finally, I got my cdl today after the 2 weeks training!
Fantastic experience: The training at CR England was hands on. In a short period of time we learned how to do a pre trip inspection and correctly back up the vehicle under the eyes of talented instructors. We finally drove on to the streets and highway under the eyes of experienced trainers. After hours and days of study I passed the exam on the first try! With the right attitude you can succeed. A great program hands down. Well done CR England.
Fantastic experience: Excellent trucking school. They instructors are very patient and will help you if you struggling. The whole entire staff is wonderful. One of the best decisions I have ever made. Thank you C.R England for allowing me to be an asset to your company
Negative experience: Boy this guy needs to go back to school and he need to take a little pride in his work because he parked so close to that line that if I wasn't paying attention it'd been easy to rip that mirror right off so I think you need to have a little conversation with him and send him back to school and how to park in the center of the parking spot not till one side and he was up here at Johnson's corner at the Petro and the bad thing is I don't see nobody in the truck and he's a day runner
Fantastic experience: I would like to take this time say thanks to the England’s for providing the avenue for me and everyone else looking for somewhere to express our worth in contributions to the company. My ever so sincere thanks goes out to the recruiter’s,staff members, instructors and testers for going beyond the call walking back and forth in the hot sun seeing to it that we get everything that we need to succeed and in a timely manner. The road can be rough however with the additional knowledge granted to us we will victor and own it getting the job done and most of all getting it done safely. I want to give thanks to Christy Serrano ,Mindy,Mark,Rigoberto Castillo (woo-hoo) his favorite phrase Blake,Rachel firm and ever so true Ralph,Tim for being about even when he wasn’t feeling 100% himself and all the other instructors that aided in the effort. Ladies and gents the minute things at times that are most impactful and it warms my heart to know that people do have passion and care for what they do. If anyone have doubts I am testifying my expression as proof and yes I miss being at C.R. ENGLAND and lastly thanks to Carlos the road instructor and Tom for orientation.
Fantastic experience: I was surprised at how busy the place was. I had no idea what to expect upon arrival. The staff was friendly & professional. Although it was somewhat overwhelming, I was able to navigate and get all my questions answered. I've completed the CDL test, orientation and am now awaiting my mentor/trainer to give me that hands-on experience. My GOAL has been met. I would recommend this school/facility.
Positive experience: I just went through the CDL training school. I learned a lot. The instructors were great and new there stuff. The office staff was great and try to help you when they aren't getting pulled from one thing to another. It was a little crazy with all the students that were coming through their every week. The only thing that I will say is that the communication kind be better. But over all I learned a lot.
Fantastic experience: Very professional and get things done school! Which is my type of school. Very pleased with the experience I had With C. R. England's staff and instructors! Would definitely recommend anyone to check them out!
Fantastic experience: I do windshields for them and they are fantastic. From what I've seen they are kind to each other and work hard for themselves and the company. The security for the gate is amazing. Makes sure they know every single person coming in and out of the place so that nobody has to worry about a thing! Fantastic all around
Fantastic experience: I had a great experience. All the people I dealt with at the school were awesome. Special shout out to some special people who helped me get through. Carol, Chrissy, Rosita, The best trainer in the business Roy, Tandy and Jim. Thank you all.
Negative experience: Is -20 stars a rating totally bad experience!! do not even stop here keep looking. No matter what reviews you read... they are all lies. from the ad to hire drivers, to the dispatchers that lie and complain because they don't like to be asked questions. then Krista retaliated and sent me on a trip with no directions, and with 40 miles of one lane construction......with an impossible time frame......and when you ask for help you cant get an answer. Imagine that... so just do not apply or even think about this being a good company. Its ALL LIES. yep they will try to sue me for this review, all while my attorney is suing them for putting me in a truck that had someone with corona-virus, yes you have to slip seat and clean up after other disgusting drivers..(yes they all smoke) NOPE they wont tell you that either. I have pictures.. so make sure KRISTA is your dispatcher and enjoy all the lies..
Fantastic experience: C. R. England has been a great experience in my life. I really feel very good in this place. Very organized school. Trainers, instructors, and staff very professional. They have made me feel a huge feeling of belongingness since the very beginning. Thank you for giving the opportunity of working with you.
Positive experience: I must say over all my experience at C.R. England wasn't bad. I say that after reading reviews left by other former students. I could have been a little better organized on the 1st day, because I had to search out what I was supposed to do instead of being greeted by a school rep or the recruiter. Looking back it wasn't that bad. We registered/checked in and it started pretty much the 1st day. Day 2 we were in the trucks learning how to maneuver a tractor trailer. Keep in mind, and I don't know if this true for all schools but we weren't being taught to drive but to pass an exam. That was the goal. Actually learning how to drive a tractor trailer really begins once you are hired by a company and start training. This became clear to me and I accepted it because I was there to get a CDL A, and I did. Learning the ins and outs of being an OTR, regional or local driver comes in time or on the job experience. So, my experience wasn't that bad. When I needed more time to learn how to parallel park or straight backing, I got it. The instructors were more than willing to help. Christy, student liaison was always there when I needed her. The instructors, Tim, Rachael, Bob, Brandon & Ted all helped me and many others prepare for testing. In a nut shell, get involved, speak up if you don't know or understand...ask.
Fantastic experience: I enjoyed my experience. Great Environment and great people. Christy I’m HR Department was very helpful, encouraging, and went above and beyond to see that we got all the information we needed! Salt Lake City, Utah is a beautiful place with views of the mountains side that were amazing! Thanks Utah!!
Positive experience: I just finished my oreientation yesterday. It was long but a quick two weeks. Lol. My experience overall went pretty good. I had to do my drive test two times. I didnt really get much drive time with my original instructor. So turns weren't the greatest. Once I got more drive time I corrected the problem. And for whatever reason he did not wanna do in cab pretrip with us. The day I demanded to do in cab,me and my partner got to do it. But we lost out on drive time for that day. Luckily I studied my butt off and got it down. I will say he was an awesome nice fellow. It was a little disorganized at times around there. I will give them a pass because of the virus. They were doing the best they could we all these students and the restrictions. I will say,if you go in with a positive attitude and study and practice. And listen to all the instructors. You will be just fine. And if you need more drive time, demand it. Be proactive and push your way into a truck. Nicely lol. Overall I enjoyed my time there. And learned alot. Thank you to all the instructors and personnel. Good luck to everyone out there. Stay safe!!!
Fantastic experience: I would recommend C.R. England to anyone wanting to get their CDL. I had a good time there. Got to know a lot of really nice people. The staff was great! The instructors I had were awesome and I could tell they cared. I can't speak about all the instructors because I didn't get the chance to work with them, but I could tell they were doing good because my friends passed their CDL's. In all I had a very positive experience at England's school, and I also look forward to driving for and with them for the coming years.
Fantastic experience: Due to the COVID-19 people were obviously a little more spread out throughout the city, which made the bus/shuttle schedules a little wonky. The ladies in the DRC did their best to adapt to the situation and worked with everyone the best they could! Majority of the instructors will help you work on your weaknesses as long as you are willing to hear and listen to their instructions and want to be there, they will do their best to get you extra time. My backing instructor Mrs. Rachael was absolutely phenomenal! My road instructor Ms. Jenny was also phenomenal! These ladies would talk to not at you (unless you weren't listening to specific instructions and rightfully so due to the fact these rigs are literally driving missiles) which would make you calm your nerves a little more and help you feel comfortable behind the wheel! If you have never driven anything this big before, I cannot stress enough how important it is to listen to your instructors instructions. They helped me learn the importance of how much it really takes to be behind the wheel of one of these rigs! Thank C.R. England for letting me be apart of the family!
Negative experience: DM's lie and do sneaky things without notifying you. you never get home time when its scheduled even after being approved a month in advance. They force you to team even if you don't feel comfortable or safe doing so.
Fantastic experience: Cr England has been good to me been a driver here for over a year. Every company has pros and cons. It’s going to be what you make of it. If you know the right channels to go through then you will be fine. Reaching out to our road team is a great place to start. The road team is excellent. I’m hoping to join the road team February 2021. Thanks to everyone for all the help and guidance here y’all are great and couldn’t ask for a better support system then the road team. I haven’t talked to all of them but Freddy dean Chris tony and Doug are great people that I have talked to. Also my dm thanks for keeping my wheels spinning fleet D5. Keep up the good work and you driver keep the wheels spinning and that shiny side up
Fantastic experience: I have not had a great deal of opportunity to work with the admin staff, but the interactions I have had have all been very positive. Christy, Rosita, and Mindy are all personable, professional, and very good at what they do. Carol represents the school with professionalism, passion, and concern for student success. Bob the backing instructor and Andy the road instructor are highly competent, extremely knowledgeable, and are great instructors. Raymond the examiner was very professional, was clear with all instructions, and he made the entire testing process an enjoyable experience. Jim and Jerry in classroom training and Tom in orientation where great as well, I learned a lot from each of them. The pre-trip trainers both, Mark and Will, were extremely thorough and clear in their instruction which prepared me for success in that examination as well. Overall, I have found the Admin staff and Instructors (classroom and driving) to be professional, personable, and oriented toward student success. I would recommend this training wholeheartedly.
Negative experience: Charles Atkins is a bad trainer. I'm in phase 1 with him and I'm the last one standing after 2 other females both quit and asked for another trainer and both agree to his unprofessional behavior. I'm a female trucker just fresh out of school ready to continue the next step which is on the road with a trainer. He fails to be a teacher. He talks down on students, belittles them, and it's his way or the highway. This man is destroying this trucking experience for me. I'm being penalized for his lack of being a teacher. When a problem occurs that we're here to discuss about for learning purposes, he yells at me to tell me everything that went wrong and starts belittling me and flat out disrectful with me. He never wants to teach and talk about the problem with me. He never wants to hear me explain what I've applied and how he can help. What a nightmare. I've contacted the training department and sent messages to the after hours and my fleet manager about his behavior. Now he is really terrible. He is now mentally abusing me every step of way. He had me put the load locks on and I put in the departure on the Qualcomm. Now it's time to move the tandems. We started going over how many feet the tandems should be for the most restricted state we're traveling through. Omg! When he asked me to point out where we should move the tandem slide rail to, he started going off on me. And when he does starts yelling, it last a long time. This man has been wearing me out. Mentally abusing me. At this point it is clear that I need a new trainer. Charles Atkins is not in a position to be doing his job. He seems to have a problem with something that has nothing to do with me. He put me to work. All he seems to want to do is sleep as much as he can because he sleeps good when I'm driving, he puts me in training and long breaks on the Qualcomm so he can chill and talk about his personal problems like being upset about all the new changes that are being made for trainers and he wants to find a female lover to team with him. And he told me that I've been doing a great job and that I'm one of the best students he's had. He said I'm doing better than most. He said I dont need much to work on. So he's over the road and doesnt seem to have a clear head to focus on being an instructor to help me though. He gets mad and relieves me from driving for being argumentative to the degrading things and not accurate things he says to me. That sounds exactly like a character issue to me. Here I am getting penalized and I'm trying to learn. That's what I'm here for. I should've left him weeks ago when the same 2 females left too; Idk if he treats us females this way since all of us happen to be black. But no, I wanted to take in consideration that he does ok teaching the material and I wanted to get the job done. But all the disrespect, lack of training, mental abuse behavior and him not listening to his students explain how they've applied themselves to doing the job (obviously from what we learned from school, the rules and regulations from the cdl manual and company and also what he covers with us as well) and him not jumping in to explain how he can help. Overall, this makes him a bad trainer. I don't have years of experience as a truck driver in the trucking business. He seems to forget that too.
Hi Quashanda, this is unfortunate to hear. We would like to help support you. Can you please call our Director of Training Kim at (801) 974-3292 for further support?
Fantastic experience: Great place to train. The instructors and administrative staff are very professional and understanding. Some people complain, but that’s because they’re either impatient or they didn’t come prepared. I had a few technical hiccups, but nothing that wasn’t fixed promptly with the right communication. Also, Ms. Christy deserves a raise. She’s awesome.
Thank you for the kind words Bryce, we appreciate you and are glad you are a part of the team! Stay safe out there!
Fantastic experience: This is one of my favorite place or school I could be, the persons there are wonderful ( Mrs. Christy) is awesome, ( Mendy) is a wonderful people. Thanks to Will, Josh, DJ, Jim and Tom. It’s was a great pleasure to be there. I know I’ll meet them again!!!
Fantastic experience: Awesome place to get the experience you need for truck driving my backup instructor (bob) road instructor (dj) and tester (ray) was absolutely fantastic and knew there stuff there knowledge and skills were very helpful this was a great experience for me. I'm ready for my life long career
Fantastic experience: Super stoked to start my career with C.R. England! The dedicated, safety minded staff will help you attain your Class A license, and get you on your way to this HIGH demand field. Come give it a try!
Fantastic experience: If you want to get good instructions from great trainers and instructors come to CR England. They are all here for you and will never let you down. Rigo the backing instructor is awesome an helps in every way. If you pay attention to Chris the pretrip instructor over the weekend you can definently pass your pretrip. They give you everything you need to know.
Positive experience: For the most part C.R.England has been a good experience. I got what I came for and in a timely manner. I recieved my CDL in 10days or less. The only thing is to make sure you have plenty of money because you have to provide your own meals and food can get a little expensive here. Well that's it for now, I'm about to head out with a trainer and get some OTR training.
Hi Jacquetta, we're glad you had a good experience. We would like to hear more on how we can help and improve, please reach out to our driver advocates [email protected]
Positive experience: The school is very helpful and full of trainers that are willing to help you achieve your goals. Even though the bus ride to and from the school is hectic, I'll say its worth it in the end.
Hi Tyreisha, thank you for the review on our trainers and schooling. We would like to hear more on how we can help and improve, please reach out to our driver advocates [email protected]
Fantastic experience: I went to school here and tested out in 9 days. The instructors were patient and really taught you what you needed to know. You get a lot of drive time which is what you need to pass. I recommend the school.
Hi Lauryn, thank you for the review. Seems like you did well during your schooling and training? We would like to hear more on how we can help and improve, please reach out to our driver advocates [email protected]
Negative experience: Maybe evaluate your driver's better. Just got cut off with about 3 feet of space between me and truck with the licence plate #P768354. Watched this driver cutting people off up the highway then cut me off 2x like they were hoping to get in an accident... If I had dash cams I would have let him so this would be a question of retirement. Get safe drivers!
Hi Jacob, that's unfortunate that you experience one of our drivers being unsafe on the road. We would like to hear more on how we can improve, please reach out to our driver advocates [email protected]
Negative experience: Great school, but as for actual driving for them. If you wanna be solo. Don't do it. Also have some money saved up only time they feed you is events which are rare and for leaving a good review after your orientation.
Thank you Robert for the review. Our focus is to provide the best experience during your career with us. We would like to hear more on how we can help and improve, please reach out to our driver advocates [email protected]
Positive experience: For the most part the experience was pretty good. Only this was being told things by recruiters and then getting here and them falling through. Wish there was a true kitchen instead of just microwaves. But all in all getting my CDL in the 10 day time span was great
Fantastic experience: My experience with C.R. England were amazing. The Instructors were helpful and very professional. I would highly recommend C.R. England to anyone that’s trying to start a career!
Negative experience: Needs alot of help in becoming a learning institution. They claim C.R.England and Premier are not one and the same but they are. They are always telling you how long they have been teaching students to which I say just because you have been doing it wrong for 20 plus years doesn't make it right. Class is very unorganized. No class syllabus is available on first day of instruction. They want you to be punctual but keep the class waiting for long periods of time without a clue as to what's happening next or you go to where they instructed you to go to only to find no one is there. In short very disorganized. Housekeeping meant to keep rooms clean is not done properly, they don't clean bed mats after each student leaves, they place water on a paper towel with water from the sink to wipe down the restroom area and call it good you ask them about it they're dismissive. Bed bugs are common they do require students to use bedding on mattresses but is not enforced. Was told by recruitment room and board was provided: room yes, board no. They have it for purchase but only if you like fatty foods, the store is filled with junk food and soda pop. If you want healthy or vegetarian foods you'll need to make some trips to the store. Like was stated in the beginning lots of room for improvement.
Fantastic experience: My Experience at C. R. England was worth it The Instructors and Staff were very helpful. I always felt comfortable and welcomed by everyone. Training was very detailed and I learned everything I needed to learn without frustration. I had abundant Driving Time unlike my last school. Free food and Games Were Provided. If you’re seeking a Great Professional Career this is the Company❣️
Negative experience: I’ve been in this company’s driving school for 12 days; they’re not organized at all and the dorms those could be cleaner. They have you travel with greyhound bus witch wasn’t a good experience for me at all.The good point about this company is some of the instructors are awesome.
Hi Nima, that's unfortunate that your schooling wasn't the greatest experience. We would like to hear more on how we can help and improve, please reach out to our driver advocates [email protected]
Fantastic experience: I am happy! I received training for 15 days and just yesterday I had my CDL exams. The company gave me the necessary tools to obtain my CDL. All the instructors and the staff of the offices very friendly and nice. Thanks C.R. England !!!!!
Positive experience: It's a easy process for orientation. The people are friendly. The bad didn't have all information on to where I'd be staying or where to go to get the right information. But once I got the information everything was smooth. When to come to CR England find the US Bank and the information that you need is directly across from the bank
Positive experience: The staff were super friendly, even though they have a lot of students on the program, they will make time to help each student individually. They will give you all the tool you need to pass your test
Positive experience: Security was grouchy and unhelpful. Favorite response is "That's not my problem (or priority)". Wouldn't answer phone or arrange transportation to C.R. England (on Sunday). Wouldn't start movie, it's not in his job description etc, etc, etc. Instruction was good, which is what I came for. Recruiting information was sketchy and missing information that would have been nice to know. We needed to figure a lot of things out after we got here. June's Cafe was excellent and well priced. Instructors were very helpful and kind. Backing instructors were overly helpful. They told you every time you needed to turn and how much. Then they would do it themselves 3 times to show you how. If more instructors are needed student drivers who passed the test would probably be more than happy to help, unless it is illegal, of course. Good course, good help. 15% on loan is outrageously high.
Positive experience: Class size varies widely. Instructors know the material, but are not trained teachers, so it's a bit of 'hit & miss' as to whether or not you'll get a teacher that works for you. You just have to search for the one who can explain things best for you.
Fantastic experience: I am currently finished with student testing and go out training on the road within the next couple of days. The teachers are good and help you understand the material to the best of their ability. Ultimately, it is up to the student to study, practice, and pass. The only issue is the bus is sometimes unpredictable with pickup times and drop off times, but with this many students it is probably hard to accommodate everyone. Although I did not pass my pre trip the first time, the teachers explained it well. I should've went and got an instructor to help me one on one. The double rooms where my wife and I are staying accommodate us nicely. There is also a movie cinema inside which is nice, and the restaurant is AWESOME! NO COMPLAINTS!!!
Positive experience: It a good school to come to the only thing that I didn’t like was the commutation. I feel they need to work on communication with the students. Everything is fast past you have to be able to learn fast and by yourself sometimes.
Positive experience: I'd love to give a higher rating for their training center, but I can't. The bunk rooms have people coming in and out at all hours. They're not just for students. Drivers come in late as well. The laundry room has over 50% of the machines broken and I had to have a couple refunds due to money grabbing machines. They do not feed you during school. You'd think considering the cost that you'd get fed once in a while. Bring money. The restaurant is closed on Sunday's so plan ahead. The backing range is over crowded, so plan on standing outside all day and practicing only a few minutes a day. The school instruction is half hazard and it seems Peter doesn't know what Paul is doing. Example... instructed on offset, perform something different on range. You don't get informed when to be in which classroom for morning checkin. Then the instructors were late more than they were on time. The smell of the dorm rooms are enough to gag. Yes, people suck. The problem is that the rooms are never empty for a deep cleaning. People come and go at all times. It really smell bad, I can't describe it other than mildew locker room smell. The bright side of the training was my drive instructor. The time on the road was done well. I really enjoyed my time during training.
Positive experience: Currently here, instructors are amazing...the only downfall is how I was being treated on arrival. Very unprofessional nothing was taken care of prior to arrival being that it was known we would be arriving at 12a.m. Not having any rooms then having to go to a hotel at 2 am and then having to be up and in class by 6.am. Your body never falls back into place. But overall after that it's a great place to be all the instructors are great and knowledgeable, Aaron, Dave, Josh, Artero and Chris etc have all guided me to be a One and Done. Thank you guys
Fantastic experience: Hi everyone! I am David Rosser I sure you all know by now. I had a great experience from the trainers and instructors that I met in showing me how and teaching me the basics and knowing how to drive and operate a truck and trailer. Thank you Jennifer! And thank you Chris and Mark for going through the Pre Trip with me and showing me every thing. And going through the book. And the time I spent memeriseing and learning everything I needed to do on all three pre trips. A. B. and C: And especially the fifth wheel copling. The backing a little bit nervous at first. But when I got the concept and know how on how to back up the combanion of the two. So I knew what I needed to do on the test. And thank you ladies in the DRC. for everything that you helped me with when times got rough for me in my time that I have spent here at CRengland.
