Fantastic experience: It was my first lesson today with Instructor Damon, I was very afraid of pressing the gas pedal lollll, but the instructor was very kind and showed me everything that I had to do. Fantastic experience: I had a couple of lessons and each instructor was always very nice and informative. They were always attentive and called me to have a lesson prior to my exam which was great. I was nervous but confident. I was very happy to pass and plan to go back. I would highly recommend Drive Rite to any friend or family. My husband is currently attending and soon will be taking his Road Test.

Fantastic experience: This school was the best possible choice I could’ve made for getting my license. I have had three different teachers while taking my classes, Mr. Damon, Mr. Jeremy, and Mr. Michael, and every one of them have been exceptionally patient and really show their experience when teaching you. I decided on a voucher package in order to save some money, and between classes, I would periodically receive calls and emails offering help with scheduling all of my classes. They worked around my schedule and made sure I could get classes in a timely manner. They were super helpful when I had questions and they make sure that their customer service is above and beyond. My escort to my road test, Mrs. Welch, was extremely friendly and helpful, offering advice and instruction on how to act during the test, even joking a bit to help me calm down. Even during the 5 hour licensing class with Mr. David, he not only explain rules and laws, but also review some techniques that are extremely helpful for being efficient and safe on the road. I can’t recommend Drive Rite enough for beginners and people with a little experience who want to ensure they pass their road test.

Fantastic experience: Having driven for years overseas, I was worried about how I would transition to driving in the US, especially on the chaotic streets of Brooklyn. The Drive-Rite team was excellent and able to get me test-ready. I wanted to leave a special note of thanks for Damon, who is an incredible instructor and all-round lovely guy. After failing my first test, I was incredibly anxious and totally psyched out, but Damon was able to recognize that my issue was 99% mental, and his calm and patient demeanor gave me the confidence to try again. Fantastic experience: I finally passed my road test today! Jason is an excellent instructor! He not only teaches to drive well but has very keen observation skills. He is able to accurately discern the root causes for mistakes and the thinking that goes into making them and when he does that, it just clicks. He doesn’t teach only to pass the test but more importantly teaches how to be a good driver and be safe on the road. He was also extremely helpful in building my confidence when my anxiety would take over and prevent me from driving how I normally would.

Greg was the nicest instructor I’ve worked with and if it wasn’t for him, I’d still be taking Ubers everywhere which is not cost efficient.

Fantastic experience: Robert is a great instructor. Very patient and helped me as I was nervous. I had another session with Jeremy and I felt he was terrible. Yelled at me when I wasn’t able to do my 3 point turn which gave me anxiety with doing this turn. He was not a good instructor at all.

Fantastic experience: Took (15) lessons before passing my road test at the ripe age of over 25. Had several instructors, and they all gave good pointers and were easy to get along with. The office will call you to remind you of lessons, and customer service was suspiciously on point (not outsourced, and no (10) different departments to handle a simple task). Anyway, a good place to go to take lessons and book road-test with if you don't have a parent with a car at your back-and-call.

Fantastic experience: UPDATE: I passed my road test!!!! I was doing a deep search of driving instructors in NYC and honestly I am happy I stumbled upon Drive Rite Academy--I was hesitant at first. I booked 5 lessons and within that I learned so much from the two instructors I had (Paul E. and Jason H.). Although they could be stern, they made me feel comfortable with the occasional tough love. I felt like I had most of the control and their trust behind the wheel. They didn't just teach me how to drive, or give pointer tips for improvement, but they helped install confidence in me which is an area I lacked. If I ever need more lessons in the future, I would book with Drive Rite again. The money was worth it. I must also mention how insanely fast their customer service center is. If they ever missed my phone call, they would get back to me within the business day, and are super kind and helpful!

Fantastic experience: Pretty good spot. I went to the one in Flatbush because it was near my job. Just took my road test and I passed first time. They can be a little pricey, but I consider the experience worth it. I didn’t buy any packets, so that might affect the price. Just ask about the price range and determine if that’s good enough for you. I had about 8 or 9 lessons in total, and the first 5 were with different people so I could make sure to have the most variety of information and instruction. My favorites were Jason and David, so that’s my recommendation if you decide to go for this school! Good luck.

Fantastic experience: Dave was great. I took his 5 hour course twice... once during the pandemic (but forgot to get a license). And a second time a few weeks ago. He took me to my driving exam yesterday. I was hit with train malfunctions on the way there and was late--and nervous. But he was kind and calm. Passed the exam easily.

Negative experience: Jason is a terrible instructor he clearly doesn’t like what he is doing or may have some other personal issues . I have been stuck taking lessons with him since he is the only one who has very early class but I made a huge mistake sticking with him and just now cancelling all my lessons with him and trying to change my schedule so that I can book with other instructor(s). Every seconds I spend driving With him has been torture and makes me regret choosing this school . Every student is different and has their own comfort level but he will not correct you say and everything he thought he argues with you saying that why are you doing things this way while he is the one who has thought from the very begin I never had lesson with anyone but him. I realized if I don’t try to find a way to book other instructor this will a deficit to me. Imagine spending 45 mns with someone arguing with you only telling how terrible you are doing and not helping you identify it. If I spend a month in between lesson certain things escape me because I work full time and in graduate school I had finals I had no lesson in May but today after hearing all the negative comments I just stayed silent and said nothing and was checking the clock to see when this nightmare will end . Instructors should have empathy instructors should identify their student strengths and weaknesses and help them become better/ confident driver . I want to take those classes to pass a test but to also be a confident driver . I said that because one of his comment was by now you should know but with all do respect i am here to make mistake but for you to help. I truly truly regret choosing this school because I was going to go with a different but stick to this one but Jason made my experience so unpleasant I really hate driving because when I take my 45 mns lesson it is the only time I get to practice and everytime I have to practice with him which give me anxiety and makes me hate it . My package will expire in the next couple months I hope the other instructors will be better but my advise if it doesn’t feel right after the first lesson please try a different instructor or maybe take single class so you are not stuck in a package like I am . Advise to the owner of those school please do better at picking instructors find out says to determine if they are meeting the school expectations .

Jonathon S., I liked how chill you were in guiding me, but please, and this goes for everyone, don't be afraid to be brutally honest with me from the start. You don't have to nag but give an overall conclusion or current status (which you did, but I think you should fine tune that). I felt that at some point, I had a false sense of security (not that much), which blindsided me when my next instructor gave me a slew of critiques. That was upsetting, considering my previous lessons. Jonathan A, thanks for waiting and transporting me and other takers of the road test to and back from the site. You were very wise. I appreciated your thorough and repeated guidance and tips on the way to and right before our exam. Your many examples and instructions were clear and helpful. Your stories were nice. Though you were very focused on our objectives, you exuded warm and hospitable traits. Thank you. Now, very special thanks to David for the lessons I've had with him and for the pre-licensing course as well. David was really my favorite from the start and, to the end, never disappointed. He was calm and encouraging, but he didn't shy away from directly telling me where I went wrong. The way he spoke to me really demonstrated his control and experience, which created a suitable atmosphere for learning. I will never forget your parking trick/tips. You were a major component, I can't thank you enough. Overall, thanks once again, Drive Rite, for instructing me. It was a pleasure. I leave it open that if need be, I would use this company again. Fantastic experience: I decided to go with DriveRite and glad I did. I originally took 9 lessons then my road test. Sadly I did not past the 1st time (very stickler examiner), none the less that did not stop me from achieving my goal. I took 4 more lessons and the following month retook my road test and PASSED!!! I was so excited and glad I have come such a ways and has given me more freedom to adventure out more knowing I have my license under my belt. I definitely want to thank Joey, Greg and Karlvin. They have been AMAZING when it came to teaching me the rules of the road and tips and tricks. I would love to thank Robert who is also part of the customer service team. Fantastic experience: I'm an adult that previously had a license in a different state, but I had to take the NYS road test. I got the "road test ready" package here which gives the 5 hour course, one driving lesson, and a ride and car for the test. It was as painless as possible given the circumstances, and their website was relatively good, and they had good customer service. Very professional. Would recommend to anyone in similar circumstances.

Fantastic experience: Signed up for the beginner mastery package at the Flatbush location. Appreciated that they picked you up for the lesson if you live within 10 mins of the site. I had two instructors mostly: Dave and Jason H. Both were great but different in their approach. I especially appreciated Jason for providing tips (ex. how to adjust the mirrors properly, how to correct parking if you see you will be too close/too far, etc.) and allowing me to complete the moves without telling me step by step what to do as we progressed in our lessons. Lessons were easy to book online and I did not have any issues finding availability. I was able to pass my driver’s test on the first attempt after completing the 15-package bundle.

Fantastic experience: Best driving school experience! In my efforts to learn how to drive, I invested in 3 different driving schools at 3 different times in my life. Drive Rite was the most professional and helpful. Greg was my main instructor for most of my lessons, but I also got to work with Jason and Dave. Each one of them knew what they were doing, had different approaches but still the same foundational information and kindness and patience. Negative experience: Customer are just money for them. First of all, the process to give you an appointment is really bad. You have no choice to accept the date and time they give you. If you cannot you have to pay an additional $50. When other companies are giving you choices. Then, they are telling you that the Driving Test will be at that address and will be for 10mn. But it is not true. They will not tell you but bring you to the driving test area, you will wait 2hours and then come back. If they tell you you can organize yourself but they are not telling you. The Teacher was seriously more telling you everything instead of explaining you. I am happy that I learnt to drive in my country and I just have to do my test to be allowed to drive here. After-sale service is also a joke, the management doesnt want to speak with you and they dont aknowledge their terrible management of your test. Hopefully, I got it directly thanks to my knowledge from my previous country, if not it would have been terrible to do it again with a company that dont see you as human doing a test, but as a cash machine.

Customer Service Experience: We are committed to providing quality customer service and regret that you felt our management was unresponsive. Negative experience: Whilst I loved my experience with the drive rite teachers, the one thing that continues to drive me to frustration with this company is their poor logistics. I have to wait 6-8 weeks for them to book my road test, they gave me a date I already mentioned does not work for me and now I have to wait another 6-8 weeks for a new test date. It’s honestly so frustrating dealing with their booking side of things I’ll recommend going somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: All the instructors are great but my favorite is Paul from the Brooklyn location. I have bad anxiety and he always makes me feel at ease. Overall, I've had a great experience with the school and I recommend. They are pricey but remember this is an investment. Look out for package deals during black Friday. Best of luck!

Fantastic experience: Informative website, helpful customer service. My sons took the 5hour Drivers Ed zoom course and received their certificates within a couple days. They've completed multiple driving lessons with different instructors and they've all been great.

Fantastic experience: Took my first lesson with Joey about a week ago. Joey was very friendly, professional and helpful. I was able to better understand certain practices through his answer. Also, the car was in very good shape compared to my previous driving school. Definitely going to schedule more lessons with this driving school and will most likely use them to take my road test!

Fantastic experience: After reading the reviews, I gave this school a try & they went above my expectations! I am a COMPLETE BEGINNER (never been behind the wheel). Ive been extremely nervous about driving, but my instructors Jason & Greg were so calm and patient. They were straight forward and gave great pointers, that definitely helped me become a more confident student driver. Ordering/scheduling classes was easy and are the office is helpful with any scheduling changes. Anytime I called there was always someone to speak to or a timely returned call. I will be doing the rest of my lessons here for sure!

Fantastic experience: Great driving school. Avery is a fantastic driving coach! He doesn't just tell you what to do but goes in-depth on the how and why. Fantastic experience: I booked my first lesson online, which was quick and easy. I had a wonderful first lesson with Isaiah at the Flatbush location. Fantastic experience: My instructor, Michael, was such a pleasure to drive with. He made driving comfortable and easy to understand. He worked flawlessly with my troubled areas and made sure to compliment my good work while correcting my errors in a positive way. The school is pricey, but the team is great, and I've learned a lot with them. If you can and are willing to invest in yourself, this is a pretty good school. Fantastic experience: DriveRite Academy is amazing! I must tell you that passing the NY state driver's test is tough, even if you're someone who has past driving experience. This is where DriveRite and their instructors are so good. They focus on the right technique and guide you through the process required to clear the drive test. All you need to do is follow instructions and trust the process. Special thanks to Joe (my instructor) and Robert (Customer Support) for helping me out. I was able to clear the road test in my first attempt and Drive Rite had a big role to play. I'd highly recommend this school to anyone looking out.

Fantastic experience: I can review drive Rite academy a thousand times. Guys trust the process go in the first day aware. They make you comfortable so long you pay attention. For the college students please be advised they are awesome and patient again don't put to much pressure on yourself pay attention and question everything! Key to life be aware. Fantastic experience: My experience at Drive Rite Academy was an excellent one . Every phone calls was answered and help was assigned as need. Fantastic experience: I passed my road test thanks to this school! It was my second try, I felt like my previous instructor from a different driving school had left some things out that I got dinged for during the road test. Jeremy of Drive Rite Academy had such good energy as a teacher, gave me the confidence to take the test again, and had excellent advice, instruction and tips-- long story short I aced the test! Fantastic experience: Great company, great staff. Special shout-out to Jeremy who was my lesson instructor, Jeffrey who helped me getting a car escort scheduled for my road test, and the sweetheart of a girl who escorted me to the road test. Sorry I forgot your name but she tried to keep me calm as much as possible cause I was so nervous and when I thought I had failed the test cause the inspector was so awful she tried to cheer me up. Fantastic experience: Avery Jones is a terrific driving coach. He explains everything in great detail, provides real life scenarios that assists with the visualization of what you have learned, and helps you execute them fluidly. He has the innate ability to dissect initially complex actions into easily digestible directions. He's a teacher at heart, master at his craft, and he's constantly working on ways to perfect it. If you have the pleasure of learning from Avery then slogans like "driving is a science" and "always be curious" will be words of guidance that will help you succeed.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience with Drive Rite Academy (Flatbush), and was able to pass my road test on the first try! My lessons were with Greg, Nate, and Isaiah. Greg helped build my confidence as a new driver. He made me feel at ease and prepared, and was gentle and encouraging whenever I started feeling anxious. Nate was truly a teacher - he made everything so clear and broke down the steps in a way that really made sense to me. And Isaiah was also very kind and patient. The Beginner Package I selected gave me plenty of lesson time, and I was really impressed at how responsive Drive Rite was to my email, phone, and chat inquiries. I had an overall extremely positive and professional experience with Drive Rite, and happily recommend them to other adult students.

Fantastic experience: TL;DR -- Highly recommend! If you're new to driving, Joseph B is a great and reliable instructor. I have Drive Rite (specifically Joseph B!) to thank for helping me overcome my fear of the road. I had several driving permits during over the years, never seeking out a driving school, yet I absolutely terrified of or uninterested of being in front of the wheel. Now, I can happily say my nerves are at a healthy level. I practiced at the Queens location, using my the 8 sessions during this winter and spring, and passed my driving test in one go. My instructor, Joe, was so kind, patient, attentive, enjoyable to drive with, and always punctual. I would recommend him in a heartbeat, especially to nervous new drivers like me. The only issues I had were with documentation/scheduling at the office and for the road test, but the Drive Rite associates were very easy to get in touch with and willing to work out any problems that arose. So, I still stand by the 5 stars.

Fantastic experience: My experience with Drive Rite Academy was great. I purchased 4 lessons along with the 5 hour class and the car for the road test. I had 3 different instructors. Out of the 3 instructors, I would highly recommend Karlvin. I took my last two lessons with him and his calmness really made me feel confident! I asked him if he felt like I could pass my road test and he confidently said yes. Karlvin was right! I passed my road test on my first try! This driving school is very professional and they have great communication. I would definitely recommend them.
