Fantastic experience: Highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to get a driving license in NY. They responded to my email very quickly and politely. Price is also reasonable. Driving instructor Mr. Guo Kevin was truly professional and he gave me bespoke lesson and advice. Thankfully I could pass the road test on the first try.

Fantastic experience: I took three, ninety minute lessons with Kevin and he was the best. He made sure to correct any mistakes I made no matter how small. His english is not the best but is sufficient enough to teach you. I recommend him for any intermediate drivers who just want to make sure they are completely ready for the road test. Thanks to Kevin, I passed the road test with only 1 minor mistake.

Fantastic experience: Great place to start driving. I came into this school with zero experience on the road but had good recommendations from friends and family. My instructor was Michael Robledo. He broke everything down into steps which was really helpful for me. I had a total of 6 lessons with him and was able to pass my driving test on the first try. No bs type of guy he’ll give you honest feedback and tell you whether you’re ready or not for the test. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, he’s always willing to answer. Thank you Michael and the rest of the staff for helping me out. I recommend this place for anyone with or without experience.

Positive experience: I chose Gold Success Driving School because it seemed the most popular and had excellent reviews. I needed a driving course to prepare for the road test in NYC and opted for the smallest package, as I already had access to a car for practice outside of classes. Given the high cost of the lessons and the fact that I was a brand-new driver, I hoped to get as much value as possible out of the sessions. Unfortunately, my initial experience fell short of expectations. For the first few lessons, I was simply asked to drive around without receiving much constructive feedback. This felt like a missed opportunity to improve my skills. Additionally, some instructors arrived late from their previous lessons but did not extend my session to make up for the lost time, which was frustrating. Most of the instructors I worked with were too casual in their approach, giving minimal guidance—mainly just telling me to turn or stop—without providing actionable tips or corrections. What ultimately made the difference, and why I’m giving this company 4 stars, was my experience with Michael during my final two lessons before the road test. He was the instructor who turned everything around. I felt completely unprepared before meeting him, and even he mentioned that I might not pass, but his support and encouragement made a huge impact. He walked me through everything on the road test rubric, helping me understand how points were earned or lost, and gave me practical tips—especially for parallel parking, which I still use today. On test day, Michael’s positivity and last-minute pointers made all the difference. Even after the test, when I felt unsure about how I did, he was empathetic and reassuring. I passed on my first attempt and have been confidently driving for the past six months, including on highways. While I wish I had worked with Michael from the start, I’m ultimately grateful for his guidance. If you choose Gold Success Driving School, I highly recommend requesting him as your instructor for a more focused and effective learning experience. No matter how hard learning to drive and preparing for the road test may feel, keep going—there’s a rainbow waiting for you at the end of the journey.

Negative experience: I had an extremely disappointing experience with Gold Success Driving School, specifically with Frank as my instructor. From the very beginning, he was very impatient and mocking my mistakes instead of helping me learn from them. Rather than encouraging me, Frank repeatedly said that I would fail and would not get my license, which made the lessons stressful and impacted my confidence. Instead of helping me improve, it felt like he set me up to fail. I wouldn’t recommend this school, especially if Frank is your instructor.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with Gold Success Driving School. Frank was amazing - he truly dedicated himself to my success. He put a lot of effort and energy into making sure I got the most out of our time together. While he could be tough at times, his persistence and dedication really paid off - I passed on my first try. (I do want to disclose that this included a total of 15 hours of training with an instructor and about 10 hours of training with my husband). Fantastic experience: Frank Frank Frank. This man is golden! He wasn’t my instructor initially because he was not available so I went with another instructor. After failing the road test, I contacted the school and requested for Frank. This guy knows what he is doing! He genuinely wants you to do well. He pointed out areas I need to improve on, why I made the mistake, and other helpful tricks and pointers. With only two lessons with him, my driving skills has greatly improved. Take his tips and practice, practice and practice. Took the test again, and passed!!!!! Highly recommend this school and Frank!!!!

The process was incredibly straightforward: I completed the 5-hour online class, which was well-structured and easy to follow. After that, they scheduled my driving lessons and road test seamlessly. I took only two classes, and I can't recommend my instructor, Frank, enough! He was an amazing teacher—very friendly and helpful. Positive experience: Pretty solid driving school. I spent lots of hands-on time driving around. Oscar, my instructor, was very chill but also helpful, offering constructive criticism/improvements while I drove before giving me advice/a recap on things i need to practice on at the very end of each lesson. Passed my road test on my first try, and was taken to my test site on my last lesson. Only deducting a star because it was a little on the pricier end, but in terms of experience driving, it was pretty good.

Fantastic experience: Frank is the instructor you want to go with! I passed my road test on my first try with the beginners package of 10 lessons spread over 5 days. While Frank may be strict, take his constructive criticism as ways to improve your driving and listen to what he says. If he says you need to practice more, listen!! He genuinely cares for you and wants you to pass the test. I also had 2 lessons with a friend, driving in the streets, the weekend before the test, which was helpful in making me feel more comfortable on the road with cars around. I had to schedule classes with Frank 2 months in advance but it’s worth the wait.

I’ve failed both my tests with bad instructors but once i got taught by him i passed with a 95, only 5 points off. I thank him very much and if you want a good instructor, Micheal is the guy you should take classes with.

Positive experience: Good value, great admin. Although I had a good experience in my first two lessons, where I drove about 70 minutes, I was disappointed in my last lesson which was on the day of my road test. My "90 minute lesson" was just 30min of actual driving, and the rest of it was just sitting in the passenger seat while being taken to the test site, which in my opinion is dishonest. It also seems like student experience is dependent on which instructor you get.

Fantastic experience: As a nervous person who’s never even touched the steering wheel prior to signing up for lessons, I’m honestly surprised I passed in the first try and only with 5 days of lessons. I asked for Kevin as my instructor (I speak Chinese so it definitely helps with communicating with him) and he constantly corrected me and reminded me of my poor habits. He knows what the DMV deducts points on and will ENDLESSLY point out your mistakes and tell you how to correct them, in the nicest and most patient way possible. Be sure to listen to all his advice and use it, it’s for your sake to pass in the first try! He genuinely wants you to do well and will compliment you when you do something wonderfully and will give constructive criticism and reiteration if you need improvements. Totally recommend Kevin (EVEN if you don’t speak mandarin but ESPECIALLY if you speak mandarin) 10/10 ⭐️

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of having Kevin as my instructor, who did a fantastic job correcting my bad tendencies and teaching me a number of useful driving tips. Over the course of 4-5 driving lessons, Kevin was able to both alleviate my fears of driving as well help me master safe driving. I ended up passing the road test with a score of 95! Fantastic experience: 5 stars for gold success driving school. I had Frank as my instructor. You'd be a fool not to take him. While he may be strict, his intentions are to help you pass the exam and be a good driver. He knows exactly where points can be deducted and will always remind you of them. He is aware of the student's issues/weaknesses, and will repetitively drill them until they are close or as close as possible to perfection. He knows the rules of the road very well, and will always let you know how well you're doing in following them. What is different about Frank is that he genuinely wants you to pass, no matter what. He will prepare you for the road test track like nobody else. Take Frank and pass.

Fantastic experience: I took driving lessons with Frank because I saw a lot of reviews about him. He is thorough with his instructions/rules and tells you what you do right/wrong. He cares about his students and tells you not to be nervous (because I was so nervous for the driving test). I really enjoyed the driving lessons as we also got to talk about life things. He can speak English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

In the final analysis, it has lived up to its name. Gold all the way. Special mention to instructor Frank, who is cool as a cucumber. Not only is he funny, he informs strategically to alleviate your fears for the great, anticipated moment with whichever examiner you may be assigned. You just need to listen, and act on Frank's expert guidance, then you'll achieve the 'gold success' , which I so happily optained, with just one, same day driving session, with Frank. Fantastic experience: Frank is an amazing instructor and after three lessons with him I passed the exam with all the tips that he provided. He will teach you everything you need to pass the road test, from the basics to the little things that fail many drivers. He drills them into you to make sure you don’t forget them on the day of your test. He always gave me great tips about parallel parking and three points turn. He is funny and easy to talk. I really enjoyed taking his driving lessons and highly recommend to take his lesson.

Fantastic experience: I took my first road test 5 years ago and never went back until my friend recommended FRANK to be my driving instructor. So if you want someone to help you pass your road test, FRANK is your guy!!! He made everything seem easy although I was nervous about the test, he assured me that I would do just fine since I had experience driving but had trouble parallel parking and practice my K-turns. He helped me overcome my fear of taking the road test and made me practice parking until I got the hang of it! I took my test yesterday and I PASSED. He helped me calm down on the test day and went over the rules with me one more time so I’m telling you this man wants you to pass and be a good driver!!

He taught me the basics very quickly and I was able to learn from his critiques. Right before the test, he wrote me a short letter of encouragement. Fantastic experience: KEVIN was my instructor. Had 3 90 minute classes with him and everything became a muscle memory as he was so brilliant, equipped and really cares for his students. English is his second language but that didn’t stop him from being able to gauge your pace, correct you, praise you etc. He knew right away what was missing. He was like a quality analyst! Trust me, he’s one of the best instructors out there. If you wanna come prepared and with calm nerves on the day of your test, get Kevin as your instructor. I can’t thank him enough

His schedule is always packed since he is the most popular instructor. He helped my sister pass her road test as well, so I wanted to make sure i worked with Frank. He is so amazing at his job, its truly inspiring. I had such a difficult time learning how to drive, i tried another school before and no one was able to help me, the way Frank did. Negative experience: This place heavy handedly "encourages" you to leave a 5 star review and will call you personally asking to change a low review if you make one. The call I received was defensive and wrongly stated facts. I had paid for a package but did not get all the driving lessons I had paid for. I had to pay them MORE for extra lessons.
