Fantastic experience: At 34 years old, I decided it was time to learn how to drive & get my license. With my Learner's Permit coming up to it's expiration date of June 2025--I had to get ON IT with actual driving because I didn't want to have to re-take the Learner's Permit Test (I'm not great with "written" tests). I Googled every driving school in the Manhattan (where I live) & Brooklyn (where I work) area. Cedeno Driving School was the choice I decided to move forward with. The packages & individual prices were very reasonable. The school was very accessible for commuting. The instructors were patient, fun, & adapted their teaching methods to my personal learning speed. After 8 lessons (with absolutely no previous driving experience EVER) & 3 Road Tests-- I PASSED DURING MY 3RD TEST ON 12/2 AT RED HOOK'S TEST SITE & NOW HAVE MY LICENSE! Thank you Cedeno for helping me achieve this goal. Big shoutout to Jorge (my main instructor), Fabian, Lou, Chris, & Marcita who all helped me in different ways!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely awesome driving school! They really prepare you for the test and being very thorough and helpful! I have learned to drive outside of the US but got a bit rusty and needed to refresh my memory and prepare for the road test. 5 lessons from Cedeno were more than enough, instructors are amazing and helpful. Everyone is very friendly as well so it all was enjoyable and not at all stressful. They have the full package - driving lessons, 5hours class and they book your road test, drive you there and provide the car for the test. Even if you don’t need driving lessons but just this 5hours class, I recommend doing it through them, class is built to be interactive and enjoyable. Fantastic experience: As a native New Yorker i never felt the need to drive because of how accessible public transportation, Uber and Lyft are but since I travel often back and forth to the Puerto Rico; I felt it was time to officially get a license. Cedeño worked with me by helping me feel comfortable on the road. Unfortunately, it took me 3 times to get the road test right due to being so nervous on the time of my exam. Jorge my instructor made the exam super easy for me. He constantly cheered me on and told me you will pass you know how to drive. On our last session he made sure i was completely ready for the exam. I highly recommend Jorge as an instructor. He is an easy going guy. He will help you feel comfortable driving and a great instructor. If you’re looking for a place to learn how to drive, i highly recommend Cedeno Driving school. Especially if your schedule like mine is very limited they work with you and try to get you a class. I really appreciated that the owner called me to congratulate me on my passing of the exam. Thank you guys for your patience and accommodating my limited availability, especially for road test.

Fantastic experience: I passed today on the first try at Red Hook. I have been driving for a long time (previously had US and intl licenses) and was recommended Cedeno when I moved back. Having had to do a driving test 3x and therefore having had a breadth of experience of instructors elsewhere, this place is really a breath of fresh air. Logistically, it is right next to the L train, the staff are very friendly and bilingual in Spanish (if relevant to you). They have a package of the 5hr video and 3 lessons to help you pass if you’re experienced. The video class was exceptional; it reminded me of everything practical from when I first took my test at 17. Jorge reminded me of all the relevant test tips I needed and practiced parking multiple times. He knew that, having driven abroad for years, there were right of way rules at the stop signs (4-way) that I may have forgotten and immediately ticked through them. For the second lesson, I had Fred with whom I practiced parking. I was incredibly nervous on the day - more-so than when I was at 17 - because I felt it would be actually embarrassing to fail after driving for years, and Luis was a very relaxing presence. I was honestly convinced the whole day that I had failed afterwards but ended up passing with one minor citation so had been well prepared. For first time drivers, driving in NY is super tough, and you have to build confidence and skill in tandem. I can’t recommend this school more highly for doing both.

Fantastic experience: Lovely family business! Personable, warm service. I got my (European) driving license over 20 years ago but needed to get a US one. Within a day, they arranged everything, including a road test. On the day of the test, Cedeno offered me a tailor-made approach. Just what I needed to know and what to look out for at the test which came directly afterwards.

Fantastic experience: If it is your first time learning how to drive, Cedeno is a great school for you to start with. The 5 hours class with Louis is extremely helpful and fascinating. You will definitely practice and learn a lot of skills, technique to drive safely and surely to pass your road test. I passed it just at the first try. Fantastic experience: I strongly recommend Cedano - the staff is super friendly, and the instructors were great. I signed up for the 10 class plan, where I had 6 with George, 3 with Luis, and 1 with Fabian. They have a slightly different ways of teaching, but it was helpful learning from a few perspectives. I didn't have trouble passing my road test.

I have previously attended 2 other driving schools but I caught a bad vibe from them. I have driving anxiety so the general attitude of the instructors matters greatly. At Cedeno, the instructors know how to give valuable feedback without stressing you out. They also give you a mock test if you have an upcoming road test. If you have driving anxiety I strongly recommend Cedeno. I passed my road test at the Red Hook area.

Fantastic experience: I had put off getting my driver's license due to severe driving anxiety that had developed throughout the years. After having wasted my money trying out 4 different driving schools throughout the last few years, I finally decided to get over my fear of driving and Cedeno is the major reason for why I was able to pass on the first try. I had lessons with Luis, Fabian and Jorge and they were all incredibly helpful in preparing me for the road. Each instructor has a different teaching style and will have you practicing in different areas of the neighborhood so you get experience with different streets. I would recommend them for anyone that I know that wishes to get their license.

Fantastic experience: I can confidently say that I learnt how to drive at Cedeño Driving School. Today I passed the road test on my first try (with flying colors) and it’s all thanks to them. As someone who was incredibly nervous about driving and had no prior experience, believe me, they are good. I chose the 15 lessons package over the 10 one because I wanted to be on the safe side. However, 10 lessons in, I already felt ready for the test. I used a few different instructors throughout (special thanks to George, Fabian, and Luis) and they were all great. They all had slightly different styles, so maybe do the same and maximize your learning experience by keeping it varied. Everyone at the school is highly professional, attentive and responsive. Also, booking all of my lessons + road test was super easy. Final advice: book your test for the afternoon (at Seaview) and have one or two final lessons that morning.

Fantastic experience: This is such a brilliant driving school, I booked a course of lessons with them in May and passed my test within 3 weeks. The office staff were super accommodating and helpful. I hadn’t had a lesson for 27 years and they helped me start again from scratch. I had most of my lessons with Luis around East Williamsburg and Bushwick, he was excellent and very patient with my driving test nerves! He taught me how to master parallel parking and coached me for dealing with the test on the day. On the day another instructor took me down to the test centre, he was great at calming my nerves on the day and encouraging. I highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: I was nervous about going to driving school because I’ve heard a lot of horror stories about nightmare instructors and shady practices… I found Cedeno through all the other incredibly positive google reviews and got a good vibe so I called them and gave it a shot. On the phone they were very helpful and recommended classes to me based on my experience. Long story short, my driving instructor Jorge got me totally up to speed in one week. He made me feel comfortable in the car and driving on the road, and feel 100% ready to pass my test. I had only around an hour of driving experience when I came into Cedeno, and after a week with Jorge (4 classes total, and he even came in for a refresher for me early in the morning before my test) I passed my driving test first try. If you’re looking to learn how to drive for the first time, or if you just need to know tips and tricks for the test, go with Cedeno and ask for Jorge. I’m looking forward to taking highway lessons with him to help me be even more comfortable behind the wheel. TRUST ME! If you need to pass your driving test this is the place to go. Fantastic experience: I couldn’t be happier enough, today I passed my driving test, never drove before . I got my license thanks to Cedeno Driving School, magnificent instructores very professionals , I took 6 lessons with Fabian 2 lessons with Luis and 2 with Jorge , I learned from each one the techniques to be able to pass with only 5 points , I bought a package of 10 lessons and I don’t regret it , I highly recommend it . Thanks to the ladies of the front desk they are very professional and and friendly.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend Cedeno- I was a first time driver and had only practiced in a parking lot for maybe 20 minutes before starting my lessons. I bought the 10 class package bundle which includes the road test and car. My lessons were very informative and each instructor I had was very friendly and patient with me, but firm. I mostly had Fabian as my instructor and his parallel parking tips helped me tremendously. The 5hr class with Luis was also extremely helpful. I had my road test today and they drove me and another student to the test site and back, and they try to pick a good testing site that has good conditions for you. I just found out I passed and could not have done it without all the support from all the instructors I worked with! The reception was also always very professional and on top of things with scheduling classes, the exam and sending reminders.

Negative experience: Would not recommend. Waste of almost 1K Customer service was so/so or even awkward at times, as if no one truly wanted to be bothered with me EXCEPT for the kind fellow with the braces, great smile and he exemplifies excellent customer service! Can't say that about any of the other front counter staff. 1st red flag: a $30 service fee to pay for classes with debit/credit card. She slashed it in half but it still left a sour taste in my mouth. 2nd red flag: I was given 4 different instructors instead of 1-2. It seems like there's little to no communication between the instructors so they're up to date on your progress when you're with another instructor. One instructor F told me to basically roll through the stop sign! I was being taught incorrectly! 3rd red flag: Lack of professionalism. Yes, you're a great driver, but the instructing needs improvement. Most of my appointments were rescheduled, started a bit late yet either ended on time or early!! 4th red flag: I believe this instructor was mad that I had issues with the $30 service charge and I feel he sabotaged me. He was unprofessional, talked/complained too much, bad attitude, would grab the wheel, use the break and just tell me to do everything instead of allowing me to make mistakes so I could learn from them! Didn't have enough moments of relying on my own skills because he'd help me too much! Additionally, he seemed bothered by my questions and/or presence, tried to make me feel stupid for asking questions or making mistakes which didn't work. He also loved using the N word on at least 3 separate occassions, so, if you're black, I'd avoid instructor JORGE all together! I know my experience would've been better if I looked different. Three out of the four instructors I had were great, I did great in all lessons except for Jorge's lessons in my honest opinion. I ultimately did not pass. Failed miserably. I can't blame anyone but MYSELF for ignoring the FIRST red flag.

Fantastic experience: Passed my test with the 10 lesson package deal. Didn’t drive at all really before this and passed my test with flying colors. Had instructor George (Jorge) the whole time and really owe it to him. Teaches you everything you need to drive and pass the test. Everyone was always super nice in the front as well. Fantastic experience: I purchased the six package lesson, and I passed on my first try!! I did have a little experience prior, so if you’ve never driven before, I suggest you get at least 10. The instructors were very detailed, and gave a lot of tips and tricks to help you pass your road test. I mostly drove with Luis and George, both amazing instructors. They really make you feel comfortable behind the wheel, and teach you how to be confident and prepared for your test.

Fantastic experience: Cedeno was great with making the lessons feel fun and accessible for a new driver. They were also flexible about scheduling lessons and offered a variety of options. They were there for me when it came time for my road test, and I'm very grateful for their support!

Fantastic experience: I cannot believe that I am typing this, I passed on my first try!!! Thank you so much to Cedeno and all the instructors, Fred, Jorge, Fabian and Luis! Each one had their own unique teaching style and I learnt something from each of them. I genuinely enjoyed my lessons vs. previously when I dreaded them with another driving school. Fantastic experience: So happy with my experience. My instructors, Fabian, Luis, and George were all incredible teachers and very consistent with what they are teaching. George recommended that I watch a video of the test route on youtube, and Luis recommended that students find a vehicle to practice with outside of lessons. This advice was extremely helpful to gain enough confidence to pass the test. I considered many different schools before deciding on Cedeno and I truly could not be happier with my decision.

Fantastic experience: I took 10 classes here and passed my exam on the first try. Prior to taking these classes I had 0 car experience whatsoever. I tried out all the instructors and I would definitely recommend Luis if you want to learn a lot. All the instructors are friendly and make sure you feel comfortable while you’re learning, but I liked that Luis was a little more strict with his teaching. I think if I did not take the majority of my classes with him, I would have less of a chance of passing. Front desk people are very kind and lenient when it came to changing appointments too! I booked this place because of all the good reviews and it did not disappoint.

Fantastic experience: If I could give Cedeno 10 stars, I would! They made the process of getting my first American Driver's License so easy and seamless, it was easier than renewing my Italian one at the consulate! I passed my Road test on the first try, and it's thanks to the amazing instructors at Cedeno. First of all, their prices are very honest. Signing up for classes is super easy and quick thanks to their website, and the 5-hour class is done on Zoom so you can conveniently take it from home. The 5-hour class was very useful, because Luis explained the points system used in the Road test and taught us what to pay attention to. I had 6 driving lessons: 3 with Jorge, 2 with Luis, and one with Fabian. All instructors are great and they take the time to explain things in detail during the lesson. They have slightly different styles: Luis is more concise and explains maneuvers step by step in a very precise way, just like he did in the 5-hour class. Jorge is warm and extroverted and he makes you feel comfortable driving right away. Fabian is the instructor I took my last class with, and he was very calm and reassuring. Everyone at Cedeno is great! I will definitely sign up for a Highway Driving lesson with them, now that I have my License.

Fantastic experience: Great driving school! The instructors are great : they give great tips and make you practice everything that is required for the test. Passed the test thanks to them. Scheduling the classes and road test was seamless as well.

Fantastic experience: Really good driving school. The tips and tricks from Luis and Fred were really really helpful. Whenever you have a doubt just ask. I personally recommend to schedule your last class the same day as your road test.
