Positive experience: I will give this school a 3 star. And it is only that high due to the instructors and other classmates. I chose this school because it was fairly cheap comparing to other schools and was literally walking distance from my house. Initially going in I had to have 2 meetings to understand the process and after the second meeting I was still confused of the steps I needed to take to get to my end goal. I decided to just put down a deposit and start and figure it on the way. I got a lot more information of the process and steps from other students and from my inspection trainer Dina. (Highly recommend being in her classes). You can make payments as you go and they don’t have you on a payment schedule but as soon as you walk into the office to set up evaluations or parking practices they will tell you that you have to pay more. They won’t even tell you how much you have to pay. Just give them something lol. You will find that students and instructors are frustrated from the managements dis-function and lack of transparency. It’s something you will have to go through if choosing this school. Once you get past that and find a good instructor (like I said I would recommend Dina for inspection training and Mr. Cooper for parking training) it’s straight forward. I would also recommend getting your CDL permit first as that could hold you back from progressing. Both of those instructors I recommended are cut throat in a great way and will not sugar coat you, with out being rude, on what you need to improve on and if you are ready to take evaluations or exams. I was able to complete the school in 2 months. Some have done it in 3 weeks (get your permit first) and some have been there over a year. It is not hard. You need to study and take it seriously as this is your entrance to a new career path. Overall I do not regret going to this school despite the constant confusion and frustration as I was able to obtain my CDL for a fairly reasonable price and was actually able to learn. Just keep in mind if you plan to attend that you may get more information of the process and steps needed from your own peers in your class. Majority of the students are nice and are in the same position as you so it leads to them all helping one another. Stay focused and determined and you’ll be in and out of there. Good luck. Once again, a big thanks goes to Dina and Mr.Cooper on the knowledge they passed on to me and making the overall experience more pleasant than other have.

Fantastic experience: I signed up the school about a month ago . I was able to finished everything Mayra helped me out with my paper she was very professional handling the paper work. I strongly recommend her. For parking practice Nelson was the best teacher, he teach all the techniques even small ones, it helped a lot. For inspection, Dina is best explainer, she teaches so great, if you pay attention to her, you will learn the knowledge faster. The best school in Miami. Thank you for everything.

Fantastic experience: I found out about Metropolitan Trucking & Technical Institute on Google. Firstly when I arrived, I was greeted by Betty, who was very knowledgeable and clear about everything I needed to do. I have previously been to two other schools that I felt did not give me enough instruction and attention as a student. Alex, who was my instructor, was excellent and very attentive to what I needed to succeed and pass my test. Overall, everyone was incredibly helpful, answered all my questions, and guided my every concern. Attending Metropolitan Trucking & Technical Institute gave me the confidence and aid that I needed to be ready to get my CDL!

Negative experience: Very bad school I provide nobody in school the people who speak English no no come to school just people who speak Spanish. They come to school and they cannot teach English. I'm very bad.

Negative experience: If anyone doesn't speak Spanish and you want to go to this school good luck they are the worst school! At the office after you pay no one cares about you the only people who will make your payment worthy are Dina and Munir those are the only ones who don't care what language you speak or what your race is I tried to apply at Company Swift they told me they don't hire people from that school Whoever is going to see this review please try at different schools and don't make the same mistake that I did

Negative experience: Finishing up my last exam this month. It's taken a long time. Longer than necessary. This place is very disorganized. The office and the instructors are not on the same page at all. You will get thrown around. If you don't speak Spanish, good luck. The instructors are nice. Only one that's bad was Jesus. Very mean and arrogant. You are thrown to the wolves when you get there. My best advice if you decide to come here because of the price: Take the Inspection class with Roxanne or Michael ONLY. They speak English/Spanish and will take the time to TEACH YOU rather than just show you. Practice at home. Everything you need to know is online. Don't be afraid to ask questions and make a fuss. Sometimes you need to. There are good office staff there though. George in particular was amazing and I'd give him 5 stars. Don't let them throw you around because they WILL if you don't ask questions. And don't let people skip you in line because they love to do that here. Normally I wouldn't care but you spend a lot of time waiting in lines here. In short this place is what you make it. Good luck to everyone! Edit: 1 month after getting my CDL class A. This school is considered a NO HIRE for most trucking companies. I repeat. This school is marked as a NO HIRE school for trucking companies. They WILL NOT hire you if you are from this school. It has been a challenge to find a job because of this.

Negative experience: Listen my advice to wishing to attend a CDL school trust me this is not the place where you want to go and if you do decide to go and you want to pay for everything upfront do not do it because they will promise you one thing and then when you start, you will notice that everything is unprofessional and it’s not what they said it would be and when you asked for a refund, they don’t give refunds. They tell you all day, but this is not true. You’ll wait at least four hours for 10 minutes in the truck. The instructors could care less about how you do it’s all about the money. It’s a lot of Hispanic people and Haitian people who barely speak English I was looking for a cheap option. I paid my money upfront, and after the first day of What they told me it would be it wasn’t that I requested my money back and was unable to get It they will take your money with no problem and refused to give you a refund. Crushing and shattering your dreams. All of these people talking about how great the school is. These people are very well wrongly informed. They come from different countries and think this is the best place ever. It’s not. You get exactly what you pay for. Don’t waste your time here. They’re crooks and con men

Fantastic experience: This review gets 5 stars because of Dina… She’s a great teacher and a motivator, I’m beyond grateful I got to attend her class and even more grateful that I got to meet some amazing people in that class. Now to the juice, the school overall wasn’t great but wasn’t too bad either. It was difficult to navigate, I had pretty much argued my way through every day until I payed my balance in full. Yes they allow payments but what they don’t tell you is, they won’t allow you to progress through school until your balance is fully paid off. Which means no tests, evaluations or exams until you paid the entire balance. So you will be stuck doing same maneuver straight backing and that’s it. I finished my school from start to finish in 3 weeks, but some people been there for months 3,6 and even 9 months. Why you ask? Because besides Dina and the black guy ( I don’t know his name ) nobody will take their time to show you or teach you anything , you are given a piece of paper and you’re off on your own to study and pass what is expected of you. If you’re doing manual, just know these trucks are beyond cooked, it was very difficult to operate because the machinery is beyond broken. Overall the school experience gets 6/10 from me Dina gets 20/10 thank you again for allowing me to get my cdl in the timely manner.

Each of them brought something unique and valuable to the table. Dina was incredibly patient and thorough, ensuring I understood every detail, no matter how small. Her encouragement and guidance made the learning process enjoyable and stress-free. Hands down one of the best instructors at the school. Rafael's expertise and clear explanations made even the most challenging aspects seem manageable. Fantastic experience: My experience with Metropolitan Trucking was good, I was able to complete the program in 1 month and a half. Damaris is very sweet and helpful, she helped me with everything I needed. I had a complicated schedule, I was only able to train from 7am to 8am then go to work on the weekdays and they accommodated to my schedule. Thank you to everyone who helped me get my CDL!

Fantastic experience: Got my cdl here in 2015 I went already knowing how to drive so it was the right price, had to retest in a manual transmission in 2019 to keep from getting restricted per a new Florida law so I did that here too, they were very help to me in 2024 to provide the paperwork to dmv from 2019 thanks to all that help me great job!!!

Fantastic experience: Just finished my classes and finally I have my class A CDL . I could not ask for more . Since the first day I was pushed in the correct direction. They took the time to show everyone how to do all the things they needed to do to improve their driving skills . They do have classes for beginners and experienced drivers . Damaris is the most amazing person you will ever get to know . All the instructors in the training area will do everything they need to make sure you get through the process. The people inside the office … everyone , thank you .

Negative experience: My husband has had the most terrible experience I believe anyone could have. He was promised a refund after being approved for grant but kept getting the runaround as I witnessed him being belittled by the staff here.

Negative experience: Be very careful im currently in the midst of being tossed around by the staff here after money that was supposed to be refunded dissappeared. They will push for you to finance or pay out of pocket when there are grants available and if u give them cash during this process kiss it goodbye. Miscommunication on their part may lead to them taking no accountability and belittling you. I held their name to a high regard because of legacy of my late relative but they made it apparent that things have changed with time. A very frustrating and disappointing experience.

Fantastic experience: Damarys, Jasiel, Alex, Paul, & the rest of the staff are people i will always take in my heart. I started without knowing anything, and finished knowing everything. The patience, the motivation & the encouragement to keep going that they provided me is what got me to have my CDL CLASS A!!!! Being a young girl in this industry is not easy, but they always kept me going & i will forever be thankful to have come across such amazing people & teachers. This place is family to me, and i will forever recommend it. Fantastic experience: I disagree with people who say positive reviews are fake, and not true, that’s my 3 day in the school, and all teacher always answers questions, and are happy to help, my Favorite Roxy and Paul, they helpful, and Jonathan also is an awesome person, watching me the whole time and making sure I remember all the information, and remember the skills. A lot of great people in the office, all I have to do is be nice and people will be nice to you(to all haters) I didn’t have any single problem with classes, I was there the whole day and learning as much as possible, so if you are lazy, hiding from classes for smoking or chilling every 30-60 min of course nobody going to pay attention, u have to show that u interested in learning. I love you guys, and I am really happy that I chose this school.

Fantastic experience: I really recommend it. Office employees - all ladies and George , other managers as well as all instructors and examiners are very professional, helpful , fair and friendly. I heard some people complaining a little for waiting time but you have to understand that nobody will do your homework for you so have your docs prepared plus the courses are very affordable so there are pretty many students and sometimes you have to wait a little .. - yes , a little... and not always , so be mature and face the truth - everywhere you go you have to wait because you're not the only one !!! Metropolitan is the place where people are to help you learn and practice with many great instructors like Michael, Jonathan, Sergio, Alejandro/ Alex, Roxy, Paul, Jaciel, Jesus just to name a few and I'm feeling sorry not to remember some names or not to be be sure how to spell them but I'm very thankful to all of you guys for your time, patience, help, professionalism and personal culture / politeness.

Negative experience: I don’t recommend it to anyone, even to an enemy, I lost three days of time and $2600, they don’t have a training program and prefabricated classes on time, if you want to pass without problems and at least learn something, prepare +2750$ from above, and remember if something goes wrong they will never refund your money, read the contract carefully

Fantastic experience: I recommend it with certainty! I am a person who has been taught everything from scratch to obtain CDL. I got all the help and support from every employee. Definitely not a place for lazy people. Please remember that it is we who need to learn and we ourselves have to take care of getting as much practical and theoretical knowledge as possible from school. Negative experience: wish I could give them Zero stars but I have to go with one star. Not the school you wanna get your CDL I know so many people like me look for the cheapest option because it's hard for a lot of us nowadays but really if you value your money and time and vou have self-respect please avoid this school, they don't know the word customer service they treat everybody like S@&&) they don't value the students and the most important part they don't value the students time! you can spend at least 4 hours or even more just to practice with a truck for ten minutes and when you gonna do your Evaluation they expect you to do great! When you pretty much have to figure things out by yourself. And last but not least when you have to do your TEST they rush you the instructors can be on the phone or attending something else while they’re testing that really affects your performance because you have to repeat yourself or you can get lost really easy. Anyways please take my advice I wish I could rewind the time and had read a review like this so I could never signed up here now I’m stuck! I was supposed to take 6 weeks now I’m being here for almost 4 months! . I have to be fair and give some credit with who truly deserve it and that’s instructor Haziel he’s great and also Damaris in the office.

Negative experience: Don’t recommend if you going to remove manual transmission restrictions. Roxana will insult you to get classes even though you driving manual transmission for 5 years and will not give u a chance. Just my 5 cents how bad she is. Tale care

Negative experience: I didn’t want to post a review, but there is. I was at the school in august 2022 till January 2023, those people gave me or anyone at the school a time to be there for training, they never put you on the truck on time,they will put you on the truck like 2 to 3 hours later,They running games over there. After I finished the school every trucking company are asking for OTR experience, but this school never provided any of that, plus I didn’t much about things. After 3 months of waiting for some company to give me a chance, only one did, and guess what, they told me they know about metropolitan, and it’s the worst. Stuff that company told me or thought me metropolitan never mentioned. Plus they trained us in daytime trucks but not sleepers, and automatically they disqualified me and another guy from the school, because we didn’t know certain things. Anyway I wouldn’t RECOMMEND them, especially if you are going to do OTR and they are training you on daytime trucks. Plus they are supposed to teach you about what to expect from DOT officers, and weight stations etc. they don’t provide any of those information. It’s sad

Negative experience: If I could leave a 0 star review that’s exactly what this place deserves, they’ll rush you into spending your hard earned money but act as if you are a nuisance once your balance is paid & you decide to ask simple questions as far as scheduling & actually trying to get time behind the wheel. If you are not a Hispanic good luck! Going here they have you wait outdoors 4-5 hours before getting your measly 5-7 mins behind the wheel. You are constantly skipped. The instructors clearly don’t care too much about the students as they don’t even demonstrate the maneuvers or atleast hop in the the truck to show you what to do, they simply call your name from a stack of names & send you into the truck to perform the maneuvers on your own. Next, we can talk about the equipment their trucks are all literally beat & not safe to use. I’ve seen students practicing maneuvers with trucks with cracked & missing windshields. Majority of the trucks there have mechanical issues. Abs lights, check engine lights, air leaks etc. I’ve personally seen on a few occasions trucks breaking down with students practicing in them.. they send their cheap and shady mechanic to come on the range and spray what seems to be starting fluid to get certain trucks to start up again sending the RPMS to the moon for a brief moment. ELDT (entry level driver training) is a mandatory online course that they offer from CDLDIRECT. Which whom they obviously work with. Because you aren’t allowed to take the course with anywhere else or it won’t count. I was even told by the inspection instructor if I paid an extra $120 (on top of cdldirect’s $250 ELDT course) they’ll have it completed for me.. imagine how many drivers are graduating from this school without proper knowledge… They also have a old lady in the front of the office who is VERY VERY disrespectful who I have evidence or ignoring & fanning me off when asking if there was someone I can express my concerns to. This place is by far the most shadiest and crooked I’ve even attended. If I had known/ read prior reviews I would of never step foot into this place.

Negative experience: This school is good but it stingy and non refundable with their money even if you take no course or nothing at all. Sadly I paid 1k for the manual endorsement and now that I never went, signed no contract or ever did nothing they will not return the money a paid and they clearly keeping peoples money, I peacefully and politely called to ask and see a possible solution but there were none, I’m simply ripped off and they don’t care. I’ll never recommend nobody else there. Is a shame how they have gotten. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL and money hungry. ✌️ never again.

Negative experience: I would never recommend this location if you are trying to take your classes serious and especially if you are anything other than Hispanic. They only favor the Hispanics in this location. My husband paid for his course in full and is black.. ever since he has been going to class the instructors will skip him and would let the hispanics drive before him or anyone else that is black. It has happened several times in the past 3 weeks. I have even spoken to the office in Spanish since they can barely speak English. Today he went to the office to complain and what the instructor told him was “if you don’t like it we will give your money back”. These people will go after you for payment but you will NOT learn a thing in this location or get treated fairly! They are a waste of time and money! I would never recommend.The are very unprofessional the customer service is horrible!! You will be at the main office for like 45 mins and get skipped. Keep searching if you take serious getting your CDL’s

We were fortunate to have been taken under his wing while working toward earning our CDL-A’s at Metropolitan Trucking in Miami. We would have been lost, disoriented, and clueless without his assistance. Alex has been incredibly thorough, informative, professional, personable, communicative, and consistently goes the extra mile to ensure that we receive the best possible training and service on a daily basis. Very down-to-earth. He has guided our group from beginning-to-end. Betty, thank you for everything and God bless. The instructors at Metropolitan have also been fantastic. While lines tend to be long for parking training (the wait times are only occasionally rough), the instructors are still thorough, well-composed, informative, knowledgeable, respectful, and helpful on a regular basis while we learn to properly execute each parking maneuver. I would Iike to extend plenty of gratitude to Ovidio, Alex, Yobani, Jesús, Jimmy, Paul, Josue, Roxane, Cooper, Al T. (excellent examiner), and Jay (Jaciel) for all their hard work, expertise, guidance, and help. You’re all great people and great teachers.

Fantastic experience: One of the workers, Mr. Alexander Guzman, is super helpful! He’s the guy you want to talk to when you need help booking appointments and getting to the right practice areas. Super nice guy who won’t hesitate to help you out. Metropolitan as a whole was intimidating at first, but quickly became easier to navigate with Guzman’s assistance. Learned a lot very quick at this school. I definitely recommend it to those working towards their CDLs!

Negative experience: This school is very much a waste of time you pay high amounts (almost 4k) for a vip package only to sit and wait Hours on end you're lucky if you get more than 1turn on a truck in a 4hour period. Most of your time is spent waiting. I'm still in this school and wish I could get a refund but they will quickly remind you there's no refunds heed my words FIND A DIFFERENT SCHOOL!!!

Negative experience: Came across this school after searching and reviewing others, and i decided upon speaking with Felix over the phone this would be the best choice. The idea of testing you first prior to giving you a package made sense since not everyone is at the same level. Over the phone this place sounded like Disney Land but once there its more like Terrifying Land! Packages started at $700.00 and could go up to $2895.00 depending on the practices you might need. It all made sense until the first visit onsite, the lady there explained it didn't matter your experience the following are the rates ( So, forget about getting you on a truck to see what you need! ). If you want to take the all unlimited package that was $2895.00 but you could only come certain days of the week. (3X) Not sure why they call it the unlimited package. Since my partner wanted an expedited class we decided on the all inclusive package including everyday which cost $4,000.00. ( He was supposed to be on a Extra VIP Treatment ) What a mess!!! Everyone on the campus complains on how disorganized all is, you get there and there is no direction on what to do to where to go. Constantly you will see office employees come out to guide some of the students or perhaps speak with the Instructors. Most of the instructors on site speak Spanish, find yourself waiting hours for training. Because it seems tests are done in the morning and practices in the afternoon. Again ! no organization. My partner will be there as early as 8 to wait until 12 or 2 to practice. Quick in/out and on to the next person. You see employees crying from time to time you will see police show up because of people complaining on their money & how classes are handled. I don't understand when they sell you a package of Unlimited Practice when there is barely availability to do so. Is almost like picking you based on how much you payed; so if you paid more you get priority. The day before testing he was supposed to get practices done, and was there from 8-5 to only get on practice; keep in mind $4K...Its unfortunate but it seems its hard to find a good school that has time and an organized system; you will hear people coming from other states to take this courses to say they haven't gotten much done because of how the system is set up. Do your research, and make sure you ask all questions when registering!!

Fantastic experience: This is one of the best school out there with great staff. My goal was to complete the course in 3-4 weeks and thanks to a handful of the staff, for example, Paul, Damaris, and Gimmy who showed interest in my learning and went out of there way to make sure I got the course done in the time frame I hoped for. Fantastic experience: I just want to say Thank you to all the instructors for the time they dedicated to me, Yasiel the inspection guy, alex, robert, alejandro, the dominican guy, the guy who show you all the parking process well all of them, I spend a really good time getting my CDL licence in that school. I really recomend it to anyone who want to get the license.

Fantastic experience: This is a great school. It took me 6 weeks to learn everything (Inspection, parking and road training). I would like to thank all the staff. I really had a lots of fun while training and I met some fantastic people. I would like to thank everyone in the office especially Damaris who was always very understanding, she cares and is willing to help in anyway she can. Thanks to Juan great guy Robert, Alejandro, Anna, Sandra, more great people in the office but I do not remember their names. I would like to thank all my teachers which always made me laugh and have a good time while training. Lazaro, Noel, Michele, Ledian, Dariel, Alex, Jimmy, Roxana, Yassiel, Yosvany, Alexis, Enrique and all those that I do not remember their names. The DMV examiners are great and very professional, Alvelio, Gregorio, Carlos Ramirez and all the other examiners. Thanks again for everything. My goal was accomplished and I finally got my CDL. Negative experience: My partner started this course last month. The expectation on what's included has not been met. Most instructors barley speak English. The lines for testing each day are super long . It's under staffed. We paid for a speedy course which is a joke. Please do your home work when deciding on a trucking school . It's a huge investment. Money Is time. Waaaay to much time is being waisted daily here.

Fantastic experience: Had an amazing and joyful experience with all the instructors. I couldn't have been more grateful to find and have attended this school. It took me 3 weeks, to receive the information they provided get tested and pass all the state required exams. If you choose to go to the school I urge you to focus all your attention to achieve your goals. No matter what school you go to there is no one that will hold your hand through the process. The pricing for the school was the best I have seen searching throughout the state of Florida. I highly recommend the school for a flawless process in transitioning to a commercial vehicle driving career. If you choose to attend this school I recommend you speak to Anna she made me a promise and kept her word. Big shout Hasiel and all the driver instructors that encouraged and focused on all the issues to help me pass the State exams.

Negative experience: I paid $95 for a refreshment road course, and all I got was 10-15 minutes with Enrique, the instructor. He smoked too many cigarettes while I was driving. I came in for my 10A.M. appointment on Saturday 08/20/2022. The lady, who works at the front desk, took my $95 payment. After I paid $95, she asked for my DOT medical card. I left it at home. Then, she said "sorry I can't let you drive on the road without your DOT card with you. It's the law, and you should know that because you already have a CDL." I understand it's the law. But you should really ask for all the required documents before processing any payments from somebody. I have to drive all the way back from Miami to Coral Springs to pick up my DOT medical card. It took me 45 minutes to drive back home and another 45 minutes to drive back to Miami Facility. I had to wait for the instructor for one hour because he was with another student. There were 3 other students waiting ahead of me. All I got was 10 or 15 minutes on the road. Is that really worth $95? What a waste of trip and money. They sure take your money away. If anybody has to book an appointment for classes, beware you have to pay right up front before your scheduled time. In other words, pay first or don't get your appointments. It's $85 per class for pre-trips. $85 per class for parking skills. It's $95 for a road course with an instructor. You won't get the full hour with the instructor after you pay $95. The road course is driving right around the block and back to the yard, which takes about 10-15 minutes. For those of you who want to get their CDL Class A license, I do not recommend this school to anybody. They don't teach log book, mapping, OTR, coupling, and uncoupling or how to fuel your truck. None of that stuff is taught at this school. Basically, they give you a license to kill. This school does not prepare you to be a successful truck driver. I've had my CDL Class A for too long. I still can't get a trucking job because I don't have 6-12 months over the road experience, which is required by trucking companies. After getting a CDL Class A License, trucking companies require 6-12 months OTR experience unless you recently graduated from a trucking school within 90 days upon completion of the program. I took this refreshment road course to re-instate my 90-day graduation, but it didn't help me at all.

Fantastic experience: This school was great, the instructors were awesome the examiners awesome, the front desk clerk was also great, i recommend this school to any one who is eager to learn and get there class A or B license, i did my class in 4 weeks everything went smooth because i paid attention and locked in and did what i had to do....
