Official Driving School

Experiencia positiva: I have for the most part been happy with official driving school. Their class times are the most convenient for our family out of all surrounding classes. All 3 of my kids have learned a lot and it was convenient (despite them all agreeing it was boring ). A few issues though.... 1. They used to price match. They apparently stopped that in the last year or so. 2. Also there are not enough drivers in Brighton. We were fortunate to work with a supervisor (Todd) to get a drive scheduled and a driver in another city (Johnathan) to complete 4 of our drives. We had checked the Brighton scheduling app numerous times a day and nothing new was ever added that we could see. Grateful for Todd and Johnathan for helping us get the drives in. We didn't have this issue when our girls took the class so it sent us scrambling to meet the drive time requirements. It was an inconvenience to have to drive 30 minutes to do drives versus within the community we were registered. The company needs to make sure there are an abundance of times available for each location to meet the needs of busy families. 5 stars for Todd and Johnathan. 3 stars for the company overall for the issues noted.

Experiencia negativa: Do NOT use Offical driving school. Scheduling drives is nearly impossible and the instructor has canceled twice. One of the instructors is rude and doesn’t follow the drive requirements. Go to All Star.

Experiencia negativa: They don't have any available times for the students to do their driving time prior to when they are suppose to take the test. So their test dates get pushed back. Tried emailing and calling to complain, no one gets back or does anything to fix it. Avoid at all cost! Instructor said to call the company and complain about no drive availability, when calling they say it's the instructors who are in charge of it. No organization.

Experiencia negativa: This company OVERBOOKS and can’t deliver on what you pay for! My son is in their July class and can’t get even 3 drives scheduled before the test on July 31, which means he isn’t getting to compete the class on the days we had scheduled and pay for. By comparison, my 2 older daughters used another driving school (also in July of previous years) and got all 6 tests done BeFORE their test. This company only has 1 driver serving the whole Brighton area and yet they accepted a huge class of students paying $500 each, and gave dates of completion being July 31. We have looked multiple times per day every single day since his first day of the class in early June for driving slots for his mandated in car drives. He got 2! And one got cancelled last minute and they didn’t bring in a backup driver. I even called to see if they could schedule him in Novi or Ann Arbor but they had ZERO drivers available there too! And they couldn’t even book him for his second drive in the next THREE weeks, when the next test is, which of course interferes with our summer schedule we built around his drivers Ed classes!! The in car driving instructor here is nice and great teacher. I’d rate her 5 stars. It seems so unfair to her to be out in this situation! The online teacher seems fine according to my son, so 5 stars for them. But the in car portion, which is required by law to be a minimum of 3 before the test and 3 within so many weeks after the test- ZERO Stars! Save yourself the hassle. this company sucks! I will not schedule Segment 2 with them and advise you to book another company for Segment 1 and 2!

Experiencia fantástica: Official is a good driving school I enjoyed it a lot the instructors were fun and did everything they could to cater to us and the driving instructor Mrs. Tulipp was super good she was in good control while teaching students she made a lot of sense and I feel very safe and confident in the car with her if your gonna book classes book with her!

Experiencia negativa: The worst. Go anywhere but Official Driving School out of Brighton. Some of their driving instructors are awful. They do no instruction just criticize. The instructors contradict each other and the classroom training on things like hand placement etc. They have problems getting instructors so I think they take anyone who has a car that is set up. No consistency no "training." One instructor, Colleen Day, was so awful we had to call and get my son rescheduled in Fowlerville to avoid getting her again.

Experiencia fantástica: This class is great! They send out emails to make sure you get the information you need.
